Magic For Sale

He caught the smile out of the corner of his eye, and unlike before... it made him redder, so that he looked more like a tomato now. He sped up his eating, somehow relishing in every bite, and swallowed so that he could ask "A-a-are you going t-to eat?" He noticed that while her dragon form was beautiful, she was.... as a human she was... well, it was a mix of beautiful and cute. What could he do about that...

"Oh yeah!" Her eyes widened as if she had completely forgotten about her own food. Which she had. She enjoyed watching Adel enjoy her food, still red from her teasing, but happy... She enjoyed that. And so she had forgotten about her food. But now duely reminded, she sprang to action, quickly whipping up some more pancakes and scarfing them down. Now that her hunger was assuaged, she gave him another smile. "Now what do we do?" She asked.

Step one: Admit that that smile is adorable. Step two: Put that to one side. Step three: Get your mind thinking again. Ok, I think I can do this now... And he cleared his throat, noting that she really was in a good mood today, and then nodded to her. "W-well, normally I train. Sometimes my magic, sometimes other combat things... like swords and such, so that when I go out to fight I'm not too weak to defend myself once it get's too hectic for me to chant a spell."

"Oh!" Her eyes widened again at the prospect of training, a bright and eager smile crossing her face. "I would love to train with you! It's been so long since I've had a sparring partner for swords, let alone magic!" She was bouncing up at down now, clapping her hands together like a little girl. "Yes! Let's go now~" And she bounced forward, grabbed Adel's hand, and proceeded to run through the hallways, one long squeal following her. "YAAAAYYYY...."

Adel was soon dragged across with his partner, bending over slightly so he wasn't getting dragged too hard. Still, she was happy, and so a small, satisfied smile snaked across his lips. And then he sped up, walking at her side now, and feeling completely proud of her. She was so different when happy, and he found himself wishing she was so more often. That the dark memories were weaker, and held less sway. "Which do you want to do first?"

"Swords, swords!" Adenyyd squealed, releasing Adel's hand so she could clap hers together once more. "Oh, it's been so long since I've held a sword~ The comforting weight in my hand, the smooth metal beneath my fingers~" She gushed out in excitement, placing her hands together underneath her chin. "Please show me where the armory is, Adel! I want to pick out my own sword!" She returned to bouncing, looking at Adel with shiny and sparkling eyes.

The same shorting out of his brain, him stopping mid stride for a good five or so seconds, jaw going slack... and then he shook his head 'yes'. "R-right, this way." A left, then a right, and there was an empty wall. Where an old candlestick is pulled, and the wall moves to the side... revealing a dark stairway, cobwebs over it... "Tsukino made another illusion..." A soft sigh.

"Illusions? That's what I'm good at!~" Adenyyd cheered, closing her eyes and calming down slightly so she could concentrate. Her power grew, blowing her hair and clothes back in an invisible wind. She suddenly released it all in a wave of black flame and opened her eyes, letting out a satisfied sound. The illusion was broken, even though it had been one of the hardest she had ever broken. But with illusion magic, it was a matter of pride. She knew she was better then Tsukino at illusions, if not magic in general. After all, didn't Ymir say something about having more raw power...?

His jaw dropped again, but he shook his head and walked down the stairs, making a small ball of light to guide the way. "Y-you certaily are..." Better than Tsukino? Really? Very impressive... maybe she really could beat him. A deep breath, and down the stairs. The stairway continued for a long time, until at the end the two of them reached the bottom, Once there he threw the ball upwards, filling the room with a golden glow, revealing swords, armor, and other weapons.

"Well I've gotten stronger since our bond, you know. You're not the only one with an increase of power." She said happily, skipping down the steps next to him, her own jaw dropping as she saw the huge array of weapons and other various tools. "Oh~" She squealed, unable to hold in her enthusiasm any longer. Carefully she teased out a single flame of her magic, letting it flicker in her palm as she reached out and touched one sword. "No." She muttered to herself, frowning as she moved her hand to another sword. Another shake of her head as she slowly progressed through the large amount of swords.

He watched, amusedly, as she went around testing what looked to him to be every sword. A tiny chuckle and then he went to his own, a simple, and completely unremarkable sword given to him from some journey to Europe on Ymir's part. There was no magic, but it worked rather well as a simple focus, so his simple spells are easy enough to do with it, and he's perfectly content with it. At least until it finally broke down, despite all the work he did to prevent that.

Finally Adenyyd found what she was looking for: a sword that resonated with her own magic. It hummed as she picked it up, carefully withdrawing the blade from its sheath. With a whispered word and a breath of air, she pushed her own magic into the sword and let it erupt into black flames. "I choose you, sword of my magic!" Adenyyd declared dramatically, lifting the blade into the air. "I dub thee-" And then she burst out laughing, unable to hold up the charade. "Adel, do you normally name your swords?" She asked, turning to him with a grin still on her face and the sword still flaming in her hand.

"I... don't have a magic sword, so no, but... if I did then yeah, I would." IT sounded cool, actually to be able to shout out the name of his sword, sending fear into the hearts of the wicked, letting them know that their END IS NIGH!!!! And he coughed, realizing that he'd thrown his sword up and had been laughing maniacally. "U-umm, so yeah, go ahead an name that."

She giggled at Adel, pleased that she could cause such reaction in him. It made her feel happy, maybe even bubbly, when she made Adel laugh or smile. She sighed with a smile and lifted her flaming sword. "I name you..." She paused for dramatic effect. "Fluffy!" And then she burst out into giggles again. "No no, your name shall be Cyfnos, Dusk, for you signal the end of the day and the coming of eternal night!"

"Coming of Eternal Night?" One raised eyebrow, that... and now he was cracking up, it was so cheesy! He just wanted to laugh, laugh and laugh... but of course not. No, now was not a good idea... "R-right, then I guess we go on up to the training area now. We could do it inside, but... just in case."

Adenyyd giggled freely, finding a sheath for Cyfnos before motioning for Adel to lead the way. "Lets go practice! This is going to be so much fun, Nya~!" She was practically skipping up the stairs, she was so eager for this. Especially with Cyfnos by her side, she couldn't wait! She realized that she was giggling evilly and stopped herself, blushing.

Ignoring the way-too-cute-for-it's-own-good evil giggles he walked forwards, a tiny tint of pink and smile the only reaction to her antics. In his mind he wondered why she chose to meow, but shrugged it off and continued upwards, out the door, and towards the backyard, asking as he went, "Do you want to spar, or practice form?

"Spar, spar!" Adenyyd couldn't help but enthuse, clasping Cyfnos to her chest as she bounced up and down in her heels, not quite jumping off the ground but close. Darting in front of Adel to run to the backyard, she quickly inhaled a large breath of fresh air before withdrawing Cyfnos from his sheath and giving him a few test swings. Just as she thought, his weight and balance were perfect. Now she was ready for anything.

Adel held back a smile, drawing the practice sword he always used as well, and began to warm up, stretching calmly. "Right, let me get limber first, so we can duel and see which of us needs more practice." It wouldn't be like earlier... for one the foe was him, not some stranger, and for another... he was, if he said so himself, pretty good with a sword.

While Adel was limbering himself up, Adenyyd was just as enthusiastic as she was before, but the moment it seemed like Adel was finished with his warm up, she became serious and, just a bit, deadly. Her whole body stilled as she held Cyfnos straight out in front of her, swaying slightly from side to side like the death strike of a viper. Her eyes focused upon him intensly, Adenyyd asked. "Adel, my Dragon partner, are you ready?"

He lifted his sword, no longer sheathed, and nodded in response. She was ready to duel to the death if necessary... good. Not that he would do anything lethal, the sword couldn't even cut her, but still.... if she was like that during a practice session then it would be good in a battle. Be bowed to her respectfully, always ready to move if she struck...

She was a bit taken aback by his bow, but Adenyyd bowed as well, her honor not allowing her to do anything else. However, once the ritual was over with, she settled back and whipped up Cyfnos into an attack position. Her eyes carefully examined Adel before focusing on his left shoulder. She would attack there. Adenyyd lunged forward, sending Cyfnos screaming towards his left shoulder, only to suddenly feint and circle around his guard to strike at his right.

He almost fell for it, about to say something about obvious tells, but there was a slight unconscious twinge to her shoulders just before she swung to the right, just like his own. So, he brought the flat of his sword up to meet hers, letting the jarring of her momentum carry him to the right, always keeping the same distance from her, and then swung down, aiming for her head.... only to take a step backward before getting close.

She spun to her right the moment she felt her blade hit his, not only disengaging from him but also moving her out of the way of any retaliation he could have tried. Breathing still steady, Adenyyd's mind was racing as she tried to figure out what she could do. Once more Cyfnos was swaying from side to side, an almost hypnotic movement, gentle and deceiving, until she lashed out with incredible speed, aiming to knock Adel's sword out of his hand and to the ground.

((Ohh... if this was an RP with hypnosis... xD Somehow I'm really craving one of those... nevermind.))

Adel kept one eye on her sword, and the other on her... and when she leapt at him... he found his movements more sluggish than before. Still enough to block her, and he decided to focus on her body, not the weapon. Obviously her style focused on lulling her opponent into a false sense of security, but his focused on overpowering his enemy while conserving energy... so he tried to trip her with his leg.
