One thing that I wish Exalted had come up with is a Martial Art Style that is focused on the bow. The closest thing that I know of to that is the Righteous Devil Style that uses flamepieces.

now that'd be cool...

A little countermagic can definitely go a long way, if you decide to go that route. And being a Lunar you'll still have access to the Celestial circle, allowing you to outclass most sorcerers we'll most likely happen across.

I will advise that if you go ranged, you'll want to be attentive to the charms, as many of the Lunar charms emphasize closeness or buffing hand-to-hand combat. That being said, Lunar movement charms should serve well for helping you to establish (and continue) keeping space between yourself and the enemy. And Lunar shapechanging grants access to plenty of flying options that are normally not accessible, making ranged flying combat (or flying to hard to reach places) viable options. If my memory serves me right, there should be a charm or two that serve purely to help out Lunars that choose to fight from range; I'll have to comb back through their charm section to find it (if I do, I'll tag you to let you know what it/they are).
thanks for the help. From what i read lunbars have the prompensity towards face to face combat

Generally true, but even with just a couple of Dexterity Charms, you can hit with some solid damage from a long way off.

hmm, charms are basicly the extra parts you can do, or are they just plain bonuses? bloody trying to balance reading and makeing dinner son ahven't gotten to that part.. damn setting ramble is way to big for a rulebook.

If you want to focus on Archery, the two Charms I would recommend is First Dex Excellency and Instinctive Dex Unity. The first is your basic dice adder, 1m per die, up to double your Dexterity. The second lets you spend up to (Essence x2) motes and 1wp to reduce the cost of the first three Excellencies by one for every two motes spent. So, if you are a Essence 4 Lunar, you can dump 4 dice into every Dexterity related Action for the Scene with no Essence cost, once you pay for the Instinctive Dex Unity.

With a Powerbow, you can add your Strength into it, too. So, you could get the First Str Excellency and Instinctive Str Unity, you can pile on the damage dice from your Strength being doubled for nearly no Essence cost.

There are other good Charms that can add to this, too.

oooh~! nifty, I do like how simple it is, so if it works and is simple to get, it means theres alot of other wiggling room you can have for other stuff.. and from what i see form the sheets, theres.. alotta other stuff O.o

Indeed. That all depends on if you want to try and split off some Charms for Sorcery spells or not. I do have an NPC that is a mage that does have a bow for his weapon, but his focus is on the magic side of things and not the Archery one.

I need to get my car looked at real quick, then I'll see where I can help >.<

EDIT: Belay that, car's still gotta charge more to see if I can get it to start

Am I close enough that I could engage one of the enemies in combat, or do I need to spend an action moving?

ain't no problem with two of a good thing.

if I can buff or debuff or control terrain/combat with spells even better

Sherwood Sherwood and Orikanyo Orikanyo take a look at Wood Dragon Style for a bow based Martial Art. It's in the Dragon-Blooded book, and it's a bit of a long shot, but it might work.
"Longshot" hehehehehehehe

I'll see if I can hutn it down.. or.. just wait for sherwood

You'll need to spend the action moving.
judging from how many more martial characters there are around here, perhaps leanign towards spell castign rather than shootin might be better, that largely deals with mental and social attributes yea? Social may also help, cause yea know.

Cool, trying to get skills right at the moment... Each bracket of skill is favored by certain caste, but are attributed to dawn, zenith, twilight, night and eclipse. apparently being lunar it means certain ones are easier more me to raise.. however they do not list on the page which is attributed to lunar caste, how inefficient!

As for the favored.. do i simply choose a braket that is to be their favored?

for abilities Lunars only get favored survival and one additional favored ability. Lunar's mostly get favored attributes. The physical attributes are favored for Full Moons, social for changing moons, and mental for no moons. You also get one more to claim as favored. The way I mark them on the BBCode sheets, is by bolding the favored ones. Though any markers or formatting to separate them from the rest is fine.

Each Caste has three Attributes associated with them, and then you get to add one of your own choice. Since Lunar Charms are based on your Attributes, that gives you your Favored/Caste bonuses.

You automatically start with Survival as a Favored Ability, and you get to pick one more to be Favored for the xp discounts.

So a no moon lunar caste will get their mental stats as favored, hmm... or should i do social with cvhanging moon instead as mental will be primary to spread the love?

If you want to go sorcery, do the No Moon route and have Dex favored as your fourth Attribute. Social is the Changing Moon bread and butter.

Each caste is really adaptable in their own way. Take a look at the anima powers real quick and see if any of them seem like something you really want or need. Even charms within attributes have quite a lot of breadth in their usefulness.

I concur with Psychie btw, Dex is a bit of a God stat in the Exalted series.

I see, I'll keep it in mind.

I still have to chew through most the damn book... just got a tad lost on skills and my desire to build as I got is hard to make leave,.

Try not to let it take over too much. I found myself burning a lot of hours ignoring college lectures to read some of these books.

Any thoughts on what path you're taking?
