Thanks for pointing that out, @Orikanyo, I'll try to avoid possible confusion like that in the future. I did intend to have bard, rogue and cleric start off in the camp already, but having them arrive with the others works out just as well.

My mistake too. To be fair, I was teaching and wanted the post out as fast as possible to include myself in the shenanigans. Then again, I should have read more clearly. Says the Lit graduate. You think years of pouring over books would teach me to read every single word, but alas it's been far to long since my school days. Plus I wanted to impress the bard.

Well the bard arrived with the carts. meanwhile Baird is trying to figure out what the dwarves want us to do first.

Seeing your general familiarity with languages, you might be able to have a guess which kind of people would speak it - you'd still understand not a single word, though.

Speaking of speaking. Since I can't take half a rank in linguistics, I'm going to have Veskassdak speak as if he just learned common. What that means is incorrect verb usage, probably some misunderstood words in his vocabulary, and very likely improper grammar. Let the hijinks begin!
