Fantasy Isle of Mist

First come, first serve (◕◡◕✿) ))
Shafer was now back in his lake. He was just happy to be back in a familiar place. He walked around the bottom of the lake absentmindedly as his subtly webbed fingers worked at the base of a feather. He hummed as he moved, the sound ethereal in the dead silence of the lake. His voice even carried up above the surface of the water.

@Otakubeats
Ty wandered to the lakeside, and layed on the shore looking at the sky. "Why does everything have to be so mixed.."

Shafer's ears twitched at the sound of someone rustling around on the sand. He swiped his tongue over his plush lower lip and glanced up to the surface. He tucked the unfinished feather into his waistband before making his way to the shore. His hair flowed out behind him as he poked his head above the water. As soon as he spotted Ty, he ducked back into the water, but not completely. His eyes remained above the water line.

He didn't make any noise, just watched the being, wondering if it was worth it to lure him into the water or just leave him be.

Ty rubbed his head sitting up. "Damn....why can't I just relax. Every other minute another memory pops up.."

Shafer wrinkled his nose at the sound of English. He really wished he could speak that damn language. He shifted a little closer, a hand trailing down to toy with the leather strips that hung down from his waistband nervously. He finally made up his mind and gave a small flick of his free hand, creating a small splash and a million peaceful ripples to get Ty's attention. He lifted his head a bit further but didn't let his chin leave the water. He just wanted to give Ty a look at his face. He lifted his hand away from his clothing and just barely above the surface. He beckoned to the half-elf with a small smirk.

Ty jumped to his feet stumbling and falling. "OW!" He sat up cradling the back of his head which had hit a rock. "The hell?!"

Shafer's smirk grew into a grin, sharp teeth gleaming in the low light as he giggled, the sound bubbly and foreign. He gave a small shake of his head before he beckoned to the elf again, motion insistent.

Ty removed one hand which was colored red. Hissing through his teeth he looked at the nymph confused. He had no idea what it was...

He walked a bit closer to the edge looking at the strange being. "What...are you?"

Raider would guard the village for now. Seems the new enemy proved to be more of a hassle than the Ranger. For now he will be on his guard.

Shafer gave a soft click in response to what Ty said. He didn't understand the question, but thankfully for him, Ty wouldn't understand what that click meant either. He lifted his arm out of the water entirely and offered his hand for the elf to take, raising a bit further out of the water to reveal his chest and the shark-like markings that ran along the length of his torso.

He naively accepted the hand, keep his other one on his wound.

Shafer's hand immediately tightened around Ty's, making sure it would be rather difficult to pull away. He led him further into the water, standing up a little taller with each step back. Even when he was standing completely straight, he was a little bit shorter than Ty. Not that height mattered a whole lot in Shafer's domain.

He gave an enchanting smile, free hand tracing along Ty's arm teasingly but affectionately. Before he abruptly dragged him over the edge of the drop off and under the surface.

Ty immediately freaked out. From being a fire specialist, and never learning to swim it made him panic. Being in the water drained his energy more easily, especially when he was injured. Ty struggled and thrashed against the guys grip.

Shafer dragged Ty's hands to his chest, pinning them there with his surprising amount of strength. He allowed them both to drift to the bottom of the lake as he continued to do his best not to get hit by the elf's flailing. Though it was better than just immediately going limp, that always freaked Shafer out. He breathed a soft sigh of relief, sending a hundred bubbles from his lips bouncing to the surface. He stared down at Ty with wide eyes, now faced with a decision.

Transform him or eat him. Or let him go, but it seemed a little late for that. He furrowed his brow, wanting more time to make the decision. He leaned down and pressed his lips to Ty's, granting him more air. To Shafer, there was nothing affectionate about this. Mouths were for eating and breathing and Shafer had never known anything different.

He waited for Ty to calm down now that he knew he wouldn't drown if Shafer could continue to give him oxygen.

Ty turned his face away from him. Not taking the oxygen. Focusing, his skin became burning hot to the touch, making the water burn as well. He struggled more, and got a hand free to grab his dagger, slashing the figure's face.

Shafer pouted when the being refused him. His irritation reached a peak when he was lashed out at with a fucking knife. Okay, that was just rude. He shoved back, getting a clip on the cheek from the blade. A small amount of red billowed out from the wound like smoke, swirling in the water and making him snarl. And then he realized his prey was floating towards the surface without the nymph holding him down. He reached up, claws hooking in the fabric of his pants and dragging him back down to the lake floor. He gave an admonishing click as he tried to get him to stop struggling, trying to get him to see the pointlessness. After all, there was no way he was going to be beat by an elf in the water.

Ty's eyes gleamed red. The blade turned red hot and he stabbed it into the Nymphs arm. He quickly surfaced and got far away from the edge coughing and shivering.

Shafer wasn't going to be caught off guard again. He yanked his arm back an instant before the blade. Well, actually, he yanked his entire body back with the momentum of not wanting to get shanked by an angry elf.

Okay, he admitted, the entire thing could have been done with a bit more grace. He cursed loudly as he watched Ty get away. He brought a hand up to flatten over his cheek. He doubted it would leave a mark, which was good. He didn't want anything marring his beautiful face. He leisurely climbed back to the surface, webbed hands slicing through the water with ease until his head popped up on the surface. He watched the elf with narrowed eyes. Though he was only really mad at himself for making the same mistake for the umpteenth time.

The teen shivered violently, trying to get a fire to come but ultimately giving up. He curled up near a tree, miserably trying to fight the cold.

Davorin had been slicing down the vine creatures. When the group go together he kept quiet, just keeping close to Liz. He felt that aura of those creatures. Darkness incarnate. He didn't want to input on the argument between Liz and Will. All he would do is make things worse. He followed her after she ran off. As he did so, he felt a terrible magic, ancient magic. Something had returned. "More problems" he mutter as he illusion came to visit Liz. He felt the island shake. "Drink does sound like a good way to go out" Davorin said going to the bar as well. He thought about the rune magic. "Look Liz I need to go take care of something" he says with a kiss. Wandering out he went to the source of the magic. @SinningSloth @Crystal Cali @Eldritch Being

A horrible scraping of metal chains drifted over the fields. Outside, an unnatural fog rendered the moon and stars all but invisible, and the regular hum of insects fell silent.

The Warden approached a ruined hovel. He raised his lantern, not to see his surroundings, but to look inside the glass. The interior of the lantern resembled a starry nightscape with its thousands of tiny green glowing orbs. They buzzed frantically as if trying to escape Kal'Thazaan’s gaze. His mouth twisted in a grotesque grin, teeth glinting from the glow. Each of the lights was precious to him.

Behind the door, a man whimpered. Kal'Thazaan sensed his pain, and was drawn to it. He knew the man’s suffering like an old friend.

Kal'Thazaan had only appeared to the man once, decades ago, but since then the spectre had taken everyone the man held dear: from his favorite horse to his mother, brother, and recently a manservant who had become a close confidant. The specter made no pretence of natural deaths; he wanted the man to know who caused each loss.

The spirit passed through the door, scraping his chains as they dragged behind him. The walls were damp and ingrained with years of grime. The man looked even worse: his hair long and matted, his skin covered in scabs - angry and raw from clawing. He wore what had once been fine velvet clothes, but were now little more than torn, tattered rags.

The man shrank from the sudden green glow, covering his eyes. He shook violently, backing away into the corner.

“Please. Please, not you,” he whispered.

“Long ago, I claimed you as mine.”Kal'Thazaan’s voice creaked and stretched, as if he had not spoken for an age. “It is time I collect...”

“I am dying,” the man said, his voice barely audible. “If you’re here to kill me, you’d best hurry.” He made an effort to look at Kal'Thazaan directly.

Kal'Thazaan stretched his mouth wide. “Your death is not my desire.”

He set the glass door of his lantern slightly ajar. Strange sounds came from within - a cacophony of screams.

The man did not react, not at first. So many screams emerged that they blended together like scraping glass shards. But his eyes widened in horror as he heard voices he recognized plead from Kal'Thazaan’s lantern. He heard his mother, his brother, his friend, and finally the sound he dreaded most: his children, wailing as if being burned alive.

“What have you done?” he screamed. He scrambled for something to throw - a broken chair - and threw it at The spectre with all his strength. It passed through the spectre harmlessly, and Kal'Thazaan laughed mirthlessly.

The man ran at Kal'Thazaan, eyes wild with fury. The spectre’s hooked chains whipped out like striking snakes. The barbed hooks struck the mortal’s chest, cracking ribs and piercing his heart. The man fell to his knees, face twisted in delicious agony.

“I left them to keep them safe,” the man cried. Blood gurgled from his mouth.

Kal'Thazaan wrenched his chains hard. For a moment, the man did not move. Then the ripping began. Like a rough-spun sheet being slowly torn, he was excruciatingly pulled from himself. His body convulsed violently, and blood sprayed along the walls.

“Now, we begin,” said Kal'Thazaan. He pulled the captured soul, pulsing brightly from the end of the chain, and trapped him within the lantern. The man’s hollow corpse collapsed as The Warden of Torment departed.

Kal'Thazaan followed the curling Black Mist away from the cottage with his glowing lantern held high. Only after Kal'Thazaan was gone, and the fog dissipated, did the insects resume their nightly chorus and stars once again filled the night sky.

Raider would be reported by a guard about what happened. He nods and sends him on his way. From there Raider looks to the forest and thinks about Will.

"So it was his brother. Not easy to kill a family member I'm sure." Memories of his mother flashed and he would just stare into the green horizon. "In any case... Will is in need of training." Raider then made his decision: He would train Will. Raider would ask one of the guards to find Will and send him a message. The guard nodded and went on his way to find Will.

The message said: "I'll train you. If you want then meet me at the beach. - Raider"

From there he headed to the beach and waited.
