Fandom Into the fire (1x1 MzHyde/Gallifrog)

Right foot on yellow, he could accomplish that. The first few spins yielded nothing interesting, John was able to follow easily and not make a complete arse of himself, this was far easier when sober. The ship remained steady for the most part, there was only one violent jolt to avoid an asteroid, they knew it was an asteroid, because Jay was still hooked up to the cockpit comms and took the liberty of both inquiring and informing. But it wasn't enough to knock anybody off balence.

Kay was finding this all too easy. She wanted a challenge so bad. When they avoided the asteroid, she actually found it more fun trying to stay on top of her balance and not fall. Which she did just fine, like John did.

'left hand red' was the next call and there it was. The challenge coming into play. With the blue spots in between their current play of being on yellow and green, she'd have to expertly stretch across. Gauging in the factors of her positions and John's, she squatted down, but not touching the ground, she slid underneath him, touching her left hand flat down on the red spot. Her body elongated out, her feet and right hand still on the other side of the mat.

John knew not to get too cocky too early, he was staying focused on his positioning. At the next call he internally groaned, he was already enough of a human pretzal to begin with, now this? But that was the whole point of the game. He registered Kay's stretching, but only vaguely, his focus being on manoeuvring himself, which he managed. Just about.

Chas and Jay were having a great time watching. At some point Rinaa came from the cockpit, and leant in the doorway, she made no sound when she walked downstairs, so Chas didn't notice her until he caught sight of her leaning against the doorframe and watching. The shadow of her hood cloaking her face.

Kay could tell John didn't like the new command which made her smirk. She watched as he manoeuvred himself, and she wondered if this would be the move that made him topple over....but it didn't. "I'm impressed! Thought you'd be gone by now" she teased. Now when she was younger this would be time she'd discreetly cheat in a way that wouldn't come across as a cheat, but she was going to be nice and not that to him.

She had no idea Rinaa made an appearance and was by the door
She was too wrapped up (figuratively and literally) in the game, determined to win. It was when Chas would then say the next move that she was convinced John would soon drop. 'right foot blue' was one she had already calculated in her mind beforehand. She always did this, pre guess any move that would come up and work it out in advance. With a twist at her waist, she slid her right leg under her left knee and placed her feet on the nearest blue spot. It would be very obvious to John she was using her dance abilities to her advantage, and her frame and form would possibly make the other wonder if she did anything of the sort in the past.

"If I was pissed I woulda been sprawled out on the ground a long time ago" he responded, somehow managing to muster up a smirk. He knew full well that Kay's dancing abilities gave her miles of advantage at this, and that she was using them to great effect. Where as he was relying on pure luck. They both knew his toppling was inevitable, but John was going to hold out for his damnedest hardest.

Jay and Chas were watching with amused expressions as the two contorted themselves around. And even in the shadow of the hood, the slight slash of white that was Rinaa's teeth could be seen. By some miracle John managed to contort himself around to reach the blue, but one bad spin would be the end of him.

Kay smirked at John's response. She really did have to give him credit for trying so hard not to fall over. She knew if he lost to a woman whilst sober, he'd truly never hear the end of it. "Oh I don't doubt that for a second" she replied to him.

Kay could just about look far enough behind her without turning her head too much, to see at least the amused expression on Chas' face. Her concentration not breaking however on the task at hand. She waited for the next command which ended up being 'right hand yellow'. This one she had to truly think about. She needed to bring her right hand from a green spot to yellow without going off balance and without giving herself a cramp. With a few seconds of thinking, she managed to slide her hand forward a get it on the yellow. How she got into the contorted position she had, was even surprising to her. She was glad she was as flexible as she was.

John couldn't see any body's face, which was probably for the best. Chas and Jay had edged forwards in anticipation to see what he did next. Even Rinaa had moved forwards, not quite over the threshold of the door, but not quite behind it either. The next instruction came from a grinning Chas, knowing that John was completly screwed as he delivered it. And was.

John gave it his best shot, with resulted in him falling over and whacking his head off the metal floor of the ship. Chas started laughing, Jay sniggered and Rinaa cracked a wide grin from her position in the doorway.

Kay could tell just from Chas' voice when he gave the command that John would be screwed. She held her position well and watched John fall with a loud thud as his head hit the proverbial deck. Laughing she untangled herself, standing up before holding out her hand to help John up. "You lasted longer than I envisioned, but still no one has beaten me!" She told him. "my reign of owning this game still stands!" She laughed.

"But in all seriousness, you alright? You hit the floor pretty damn hard for someone already near it" she asked him. It was truly then she noticed as she glanced around, that Rinaa had joined them....sort of.

He accepted the hand and stood up, carefully feeling the back of his head for any new injuries or old wounds that could have re-opened. "No damage done, don't worry" "In other words thick head is as idiotic and reckless as usual. He didn't his head hard enough to get a new personality, don't worry" Chas added, in response John naturally flipped him off.

Jay stopped filming, and made a mental note to review the clips later and copy them for safety. "Well that was entertaining, and some excellent blackmail footage" She smirked, with what was the first genuine attempt at humour she had made to the group without Elliott being present. Rinaa didn't say anything, just watching from her position against the wall. Her grin had vanished, but that the fact it had existed meant that she wasn't masked.

She let go of his hand after he got up. She didn't think he'd have done much damage but it was in her nature to check anyway. She laughed at Chas' additional words and John's reaction to it. She turned to Jay when she spoke up and chuckled at the blackmail part.

"Well, he won't hear the end of it even without the need of blackmail. It's what he gets for accepting a challenge I had the advantage on" she grinned, before sitting down to pull on her thick stockings as socks, by folding them down to ankle sock length, and pulling her boots back on.

"If Sher ever finds out she'll lose her shit" Chas smirked. "Oh Hells no, she doesn't need any more excuses than she already has to mock my existance." He groaned, but in a good natured way. "Plus it'll make Gemma want to challenge you to Twister, and you are duty bound not to refuse her." John threw his eyes upwards, an exaggerated expression of "please smite me out of existance right this instant" on his face.

It was then that Rinaa spoke up "don't get too comfortable here, we've arrived."

Kay smirked at what Chas told him and how he replied. When he threw his eyes up in an exaggerated manner she laughed. "Looks like you're trapped to forever lose at something now John" she chimed, standing back up, throwing her jacket back on.

She looked at Rinaa when she spoke up, after noticing how quiet she had been the entire time. She just nodded in response, liking the idea of finally getting her hands on caffeine. "Let's go then" she finally decided to say.

"Oh joy, just what I wanted in my life" John groaned, still taking the piss out of everything, also the prospect of losing to his niece was filling him with a mix of annoyance, questioning his mental sanity and hilarity. Jay turned to look at Rinaa, but the dreadlocked girl had already anticipated her question "Yes, I landed the DartBird without you lot noticing. As I told you, I had a good teacher." Leaving that statement hanging she turned away and headed back upstairs.

As was customary, Jay equipped herself with a selection of weapons, as well as a giant rucksack, the kind that could hold an entire army's worth of supplies in it. Rinaa took a second one. "I'll go to the Depths and get the stuff on that list" "I'll take the tourists and get the other stuff. Meet back here two and half hours?" "Gotcha" Rinaa touched two fingers to her forehead before exiting the craft.

The sight outside was similar to that of Tor, a bustling area with all species of aliens everywhere and a blend of all kinds of architecture in the surrounding buildings. But unlike Tor, most of them weren't pilots, they were ordinary people. they appeared to have landed on the edge of what could only be descrbed as a space mega mall.

Kay smirked at his tone. The very idea of him losing not just to her but to a kid amused her greatly. She hoped she'd witness it for herself and maybe that will be a time she can film it and be apart of it. As Rinaa spoke up about landing the DartBird, she had to be impressed by it, not that she would ever let it show. She was still sussing Rinaa out afterall.

Along with everyone else, Kay headed upstairs. She noticed how Jay equipped herself heavily as per usual and wondered just what this planet was like to warrant it. But again, she kept her thoughts to herself, knowing Jay knew best in this situation. She followed out when Jay was ready to leave, and gazed around the place. Another busy planet, and many races of residents or visitors. To say it reminded her of a giant mall was understatement. She found it insane to see, but took it in gladly.

Jay took note of the bay they were docked in, before turning to face the others. "This place is basically one giant shopping complex. They have literally everything under the stars, for a price. The only real danger here is pickpockets, mugging and being hideously overcharged. And closer to the Depths the bounty hunters." Chas, Kay and John were unknown in the space flier community, so they were in no danger of being wanted. It was only Jay's chequered past that could be an issue.

She then brought up a holographic map of the complex for them to examine. The hologram floated in front of them, with all the stores labelled. the floors were connected by giant tube structures, that used mag-lev technology to whiz shoppers from floor to floor. John and Chas started examining the hologram, the layout was simple. Top floor was food and drink, below that clothing and armour, underneath was tools, sports equipment and weaponary. Then came miscellaneous shops and services including bookshops. The ground floor was devoted to ship overhauls, parts shops and general space travel related stuff

Kay listened to what they were being told. Sounded like your average day in London to her, minus the bounty hunters. "Sounds like a day in London" she smirked. Luckily she left important belongings in her bag in the ship. So she had nothing worth being pickpocketed or mugged for. Only thing she kept on her was the necklace passed down to her by her mother, which was firmly round her neck and still tucked in her top. So it wasn't even obvious she had anything.

She saw Jay bring up a hologram of a map, thinking it was cool. She looked it over from behind Chas and John to see the lay out of the area. "So..where to first?" She asked out of curiosity.

"The best was is to start on the top floor, which is all food and work our way down from there." It just made sense, considering that between they would end up buying all kinds of useful/useless crud, and by starting from the top down they'd only have to carry it downwards. John and Chas had no complaints, accepting that Jay knew what she was doing, and for once they would follow her without questioning.

The tubes were simple to operate, you clipped on a set of wrist bracelets which had magnets embedded in them. The you just had to say the floor level you wanted to go to and the magnets did the rest. The result was being pulled up the tube at ridiculous speed and deposited at the top. Jay shot up the tube, somehow managing to go faster than everybody else and landing in a roll at the top. A move that was completly unnecessary, but looked damn cool.

Kay just nodded at Jay's reply. It did indeed make sense to her. Like the other two, she followed without question. She watched Jay operate the tube first before following up. She found Jay's finish totally unnecessary, even it did look cool.

Placing the bracelets on her wrists, she did what Jay did, by saying the floor and getting pulled up. The speed was intense but she loved the adrenaline rush she got from it. Reaching the floor, she didn't do any over the top move like Jay, she just put one foot down at a time and moved out the way. Her landing was the same as when Fee would land from flying but wanting to keep her still standing.

John shot through the tube, enjoying the sensation of flying enormously and emerged at the top with his trench coat billowing dramatically behind him. Chas followed, exiting normally, and pushing his hair back into place. "Get whatever you want, the only rule is whatever you buy, you've got to carry around. And everything is going on my tab, so don't make me bankrupt either"

Needless to say there was everything in terms of food and drink you could want in this place, but you just had to look long enough to find it.

Taking in what Jay said, she just nodded. She thought that was utterly fair enough, she wasn't one for much materialistic things anyway. She learned to accept having very little a while ago, and she was perfectly okay with that.

Considering they were on the food and drink floor, she thought it'd be easy enough to not want to get much, if anything at all. She'd probably only get something if she thought it could benefit cooking for everyone that didn't mean more chilli. She shoved her hands in her jacket pockets and glanced around. "Which way first guys? Left of right?" She spoke up.

"Left" was Chas's response, while at the same time John said "Let's go right.". Jay rolled her eyes at their opposing responses. She then made the decision for them, knowing full well that it could take ages to make a simple choice like left or right. This was only the first floor of many that they would visit that day, so there wasn't time for squabbling over direction "Straight ahead, then deviate in whatever direction has chocolate"

Which happened to be left. Jay proceeded to take about 27 different types of chocolate as well as massive quantities of microwavable popcorn.

Jay wasn't the only one who rolled her eyes at the men and their different opinions on which direction to go. "What she said!" She replied to everyone all at once. She stepped forward and followed Jay forward before turning left with her.

As they turned left, she couldn't help but think Chas got his way by sheer luck and she watched as Jay picked up a ridiculous amount of chocolate and all different types. She through what they had and saw whatever was catching her eye, Jay had already grabbed. So she left it on the shelves and kept looking around.

After that the directions they moved in was purely determined by what they saw that interested them. And as promised, Chas got his personal stash of alcohol. It wasn't all junk food acquired either. They stayed reasonably healthy once the alcohol and chocolate was excused. And all fresh stuff as well, they had more than enough tins on the ship. The food looked mostly similar to Earth stuff, but every so often there was something so completly bamboozling that Chas and John started a competition to find the most ridiculous alien food item. Jay ended up in the meat section, haggling ferociously over some particular cuts of alien meat.

Kay wandered through the aisles but she made sure she was close by to John and Chas due to her whole issue with crowds thing. Last thing she needed was to have a panic attack in front of aliens and everyone else. Having John see her in that state once was enough for her.

She found the fresh fruit aisle and looked at everything wondering what half of it all was. "Kay this was a delicacy in the moors" she heard Fee point out as she passed something similar to an orange but looked quite different. Picking it up she inspected it and discreetly sniffed it's aroma. It felt like a spice like cinnamon but also sweet. Keeping ahold of it she decided she'd try it, even though she wasn't so sure she'd like it.

The next two ish hours followed a similar pattern. Enter a floor, scour it for absaloutly everything that could possibly be needed. They didn't go too mad. John acquired a new set of steel toed combat boots and steel toed converse. But Chas came up trumps, finding the one place that sold the obligatory "I went to space and all I got was this stupid t-shirt" t-shirts. He triumphantly waved them over to see them, it was clear he had been looking for something exactly like that. "Bloody brilliant mate, get us a couple of those will ya? I'll wear one at the next important meeting or JLD reunion to piss everybody off" "This is my Christmas present for everybody sorted then"

Jay meanwhile was testing out throwing knives and other throwing weapons in the range, flinging and spinning them in a lethal blur.
