Fandom Into the fire (1x1 MzHyde/Gallifrog)

Rinaa had many private nicknames for people that she'd never say to their face, most of them very unflattering. But she'd also created names for the occasional object every now and again. Each of her main blades had a name, as did her staff and even her motorbikes. "That's actually a legitimate crime in the eyes of one of my friends. You can't have something awesome and not name it." She rolled her eyes, but in a way that showed she agreed with the statement."He'd nickname every individual tool and appliance in the lab if he could." she smirked before adding "Some of them are already named, the coffee machine is Connor and the fridge is Bartholomew."

Rinaa slotted the bolts back into the newly organised storage. "Probably a good idea to get or make a case at some point." She slung her gun bag back over her shoulder again. "So if that's the yet unnamed violin sufficiently tested and passing with flying colours, then I say we move on so I can shoot an inordinate amount of bullets and plasma. Are plasma guns a thing in your timeline, or was the tech not as rushed forwards?"

If Fia could be any good at coming up with names for people or things she would. She wished she could come up with names just like that, but she was always so engrossed in either work of mucking around to relax, that the idea of naming her original violin that's still back home, was the least of her thoughts. It was just 'her pride and joy' or 'her baby' but that was as close as she'd ever gotten to giving it a nickname. She just smirked at what Rinaa had to say about how her mate would consider it a crime to not name it, along with the other information.

She put the couple of bolts she had in her hand away as well, and nodded at Rinaa's next suggestion, of getting it a case at some point. "I was thinking the same thing whilst coming here, it definitely needs a case. It can't love in my bag forever" she agreed. At the suggestion of going to the gun range so she could shoot her firearm, Fia nodded. "Sure, and they're not really a thing...at least yet. There's talks of them but that's as far as it's gone" she explained.

"Might as well go all out and do a custom one, might mick up something later." Rinaa shrugged. Fia's answer made her raise an eyebrow and think as to why this could be. "Hmm, interesting, they are more widely available in my timeline, definetely off world, but they're appearing on Earth too in larger and larger quantities. Though that's probably war related. Weapon R&D does tend to expand massively when there's an excuse to slaughter thousands." She finished with a scoff, despite the various skills she'd had and the fact that she had killed, her principles were strongly anti-war.

She led Fia out and along the main tunnel, deciding to head straight for the rifle range, then maybe later (if she felt like it) loop back and go for handguns or pistols. She was hesitant to use the plasma range with Fia around. There were some extra rules she hadn't explained. The rifle range had a similar layout to the archery, except the targets were much farther away. The gun Rinaa had with her was a sniper rifle. It was pretty standard, nothing too fancy apart from the grip, which had been custom made to work for her ambidextrous grip. Sitting down on one of the benches, she assembled the gun. It wasn't the kind of weapon that allowed for movement while shooting, unlike her shotgun or pistols she couldn't use them from a standing position.

Fia just nodded at the idea that Rinaa suggested about the case before listening to her surprise at her reply about plasma guns. "I see, interesting indeed. Can't disagree with the war thing either" She replied. Like Rinaa, Fia too was anti war and didn't believe in slaughtering innocent people, especially when they put it under the tagline of 'its in the name of religion'. She followed Rinaa out of the archery range and across to the rifle range. Like Rinaa did earlier, she stayed in the designated area, and sat on a bench near Rinaa, giving her space to assemble the gun, which she instantly knew as a sniper rifle. The grip she noted was a custom piece, before glancing around and seeing the distance of the targets. She was very much interested in seeing Rinaa's skills, wondering if they were as good as her Leah's, which she could only think they were, if not stronger from what she knew of Rinaa and her timeline.

She pulled her phone out of her pocket just to look at the time before putting it back away. She wasn't exactly worries about how long they'd been away, it was more just a curiosity thing and something she had a habit of doing instead of looking for a clock on a wall or similar. "Must admit I'm intrigued to see your skill with the sniper." She commented. She knew of people in her life who used them, but she hasn't ever been next to them when one was used. So this was new but familiar territory for Fia.

Rinaa raised her eyes at the remark. Sniping wasn't the most exciting thing to watch, espescially when compared to magic or creating portals in the fabric of space. But to each their own she thought. "I like to think I'm a decent enough shot. I've been shooting since about seven, started sniping at eleven when my longs were long enough and my skills with other guns met Jay's extremely high standards." Some parents would no doubt consider it a really bad idea to teach somebody so young to be so adept in weaponry. But Jay saw it more of a 'well she's going to learn at some point, it might as well be from me to ensure she becomes damn awesome at it' stance on the matter.

Rinaa crossed the line into the range, and assumed the sniper position on the ground. She started with a left hand grip, the stock firmly against her shoulder. Both knees and elbows were braced on the ground. She squinted through the scope, an expression of intense concentration on her face as she made minor adjustments to the angle of the barrel and the scope until she was satisfied with the alignment. "First shots always a test, it usually doesn't hit, it's just used as a calibration, the second ones the real deal." She explained, before squeezing the trigger. The stock recoiled back, but she'd prepared. The bullet flew out, clipping the top of the hundred metres target. A smooth movement ejected the casing, one slight alteration and the next shot was taken, perfectly hitting the centre of the same target. Rinaa used the scope to check, and smiled to herself at the perfect hole.

(Just so you know, my school and all others in Ireland are shutting down cos of the corona virus. It's a bit all over the place, but I should be on as much as usual)

Fia, is any other normal teenager having a normal life would have been shocked to the core at the age Rinaa started using firearms. But she wasn't a normal teenager living that normal life. She was far from it, as both of them knew, so she just nodded at the information she was given. She also learned various weapons from a young age, her archery skills were started at age 9, so she wasn't that different in that sense to Rinaa. Her magic began being taught at age 7 because she was that typical child who wouldn't stop nagging John to teach her until he did. She even distinctly remembers one day just sounding like a broken record and rapidly saying 'teach me teach me teach me teach me teach me' over and over again, giving John one hell of a headache until he caved and said fine.

"Doesn't surprise me Jay has extremely high standards. She does in my timeline too" she replied, letting Rinaa stand up and go across the line and onto the range. She watched as Rinaa got into position and didn't need telling about the first shot. She knew that from the little amount she ever picked up a gun of one type of the other. By the time the second shot came through, she knew just from Rinaa's body language from behind that she hit the target dead centre. She was impressed by the girl's skill, feeling glad she wasn't the target, just knowing that if it were a person in her sights, they'd be utterly screwed. She also came to the conclusion that if she ever needed Rinaa on her team for whatever reason, she'd hundred percent trust her skills.

(Sure thing. Hope things sort themselves out to know what's going on for you soon. It's not much better here really. Don't think London knows what it's wanting to do)

It was a relief to know that Jay had extremely high standards and that she hadn't been made soft by having Elliott live. It was Jay's standards and disciplined attitude towards life that made the young Rinaa want to become the best she could at whatever was thrown at her. In this case it was shooting. Each shot was accompanied by narrowed eyes and a slight bite on her lip. The next few shots were on the same target, all hitting dead centre to prove that her bullseye hadn't just been a fluke. Switching grips had no effect either, all it required was a quick, well practiced adjustment of scope and stock. "I've still got it then." Rinaa remarked, mainly to herself.

She then took aim at the further targets, the ones double or treble the distance. This particular range was indoors, so she didn't have to account for wind knocking the bullets off course or the air temperature changing unexpectedly. The time between the shots became shorter as she fell into a rythmn of loading, shooting, ejecting the spent cartridge and repeating. Rinaa didn't make every single shot, but for those she missed, she kept trying until she'd made the shot properly three times. There wasn't as many positions or angles she could practice with sniper rifle. It was designed for slow moving far away targets. The only thing she could really vary was distance and some angles. The last cartridge hit the ground with a metallic click, and Rinaa pulled herself into a sitting position.

(I don't think anywhere really knows what it's doing to be honest. It's pretty weird)

Fia watched for a while as Rinaa continued her shooting, smiling a bit when she could just tell she would have hit the targets, and when she didn't. The targets may have been further away than her archery ones, but she was judging from the way Rinaa reacted to each shot. After a few shots, she just stopped watching and fell back into her old habit of checking her phone, even though there was no reason what so ever to have any notifications. She had to constantly remind herself that this version of John and Kay didn't have her phone number, so it's not like either could text her for whatever reason.

Instead, she decided to take photos of her violin crossbow of every angle possible instead. If she was back at the apartment she'd have balanced the phone somewhere and filmed a little snippet of how it played, but she wasn't. Though it was on her mind to do when she got back there, or she'd rope Kay into taking photos for her. When she was satisfied with the quick snaps, she put her phone away.

( Yeah it certainly is. I'm just super hoping Ultimates convention doesn't get cancelled beginning of may. XD! Being a much smaller con in a hotel I'm hoping it won't get affected like the bigger ones. I've waited too long to meet Matt Ryan and Kat McNamara lol)

The sniper range was kitted out with mock balaconys and fire escapes for the person with an urge for a more realistic shooting experience. Scooping up the discarded shells, Rinaa made her way up to one of the balconies finally getting an opportunity to use some proper parkour skills. She nestled herself into the corner of the balcony, balancing the sniper rifle on the narrow metal ledge. From there the angles were far more complicated. It only took three or so shots for Rinaa to confirm that she hadn't lost her knack for the weapon. Seeing Fia on her phone, she rolled her eyes beneath the glasses. Sure watching shooting wasn't that exciting, but still.

Happy with her practice she swing back down to ground level. She disassembled the rifle, looking for any kind of damage in the pieces and finding none. "I'd say there's time for one more lot of shooting here, then it's probably best to get back to the apartment. Not sure how long this tour de memories takes, but it's been almost four hours, and I'd say they'll stop for food at Cats Eyes before heading back. Then I guess shopping before the inevitable return to prison." She spoke as if she didn't know what was going to happen next and was only guessing, but that wasn't strictly true.

(that would totally suck. Espescially to lose out on the chance of seeing those two. All that waiting for nothing. But I'd say it'll all be over by then, as like you said, it's a smaller con, so I'd say they won't cancel it.)

Fia glanced up to see Rinaa making her upwards to another part of the range to try her skills at a different angle, watching now with interest, even if Rinaa didn't see her go from being on her phone to watching her again. In Fia's mind it was no different to when Rinaa was sorting out the bolts and arrows for the storage whilst she shot her bow. She noted each shot and how many times it took Rinaa before she moved to another target before seeing her swing back down to ground level.

When Rinaa came back to her disassembling the rifle, she looked up to listen to what was being told to her. To her it was amazing how fast the last four hours had gone to her. "Right, that's fine with me, if they stop for food before coming back, I guess that means mum's cooking for us lot, if we're lucky" she replied simply. She actually meant 'if I can talk her into it' knowing that Kay only baked the brownies earlier because she had to take her mind off things, and to quench the restlessness. It was her go to move every time in her timeline. If she was worried sick about something? She'd bake or cook, if she thought someone needed cheering up? She'd bake and so forth. Yet she also knew Kay should rest as much as possible.

(Yeah that's what I'm hoping. I've bought a white Canary costume for the con coz Caity lots is also going so I'm keeping all fingers crossed)

"They can't not stop, it's one of the most important spots from their childhood. They used to eat there a lot as a family as it was owned by a friend of their mother's. Its under new ownership now thankfully." Rinaa explained, slinging the rifle bag over her shoulder. "Yeah maybe I'll join in on that." Rinaa shrugged, non-commitally. She had nothing against Kay's cooking, the exact opposite was true, but the feeling of awkwardness still lingered on. Family dinner always held with it a sense of dread and foreboding for her. She rubbed the side of her forehead absent mindedly as she lead the way forwards.

"I was gonna go eat out though, then see what could be done with the bike." Now that she had somewhere to go racing, she was rearing to get it up and running in time. Though a certain golden eyed girl might be acting as a further attraction for getting it done. Seeming that Fia had no problems with going through another shooting round, Rina made her way back to the handgun range. Plasma, she decided, was just too dangerous, even if Fia did possess a healing factor. The pistol range had the greatest selection of guns available, and Rinaa couldn't suoress the grin that came over her when she saw them all neatly lined up in the racks. The staff meticulously maintained the weapons, and Rinaa knew that whatever weapon she picked up would be capable of doing serious damage in the right hands.

"Ear protection is mandatory" was all Rinaa said, before making her choice. The range was getting busier again, and there were a good few practicing as well as what appeared to be some kind of lessons for teenagers about Fia and Rinaa's age. To signify that she had no connection with them Rinaa chose an alley as far away as possible. Without hesitation she raised the pistol, adopted the classic weaver stance and fired off six rounds one after the other at the four targets clustered at the end of the alley. In one smooth movement she exchanged the empty clip for a new one, stepped forwards and rattled off another six shots, all hitting the targets in neat clusters. Kill shots.

(Sounds like an excellent con to go to! Some day I'll get to one of the bigger ones, and probably never leave, but hey that's life)

Fia nodded, now finding it made total sense that they'd stop there to eat. The way Rinaa said she might join in on the meal at home, Fia got the impression she wouldn't at all. That theory only got confirmed when she got told Rinaa would probably eat out anyway. "That's fair enough, I don't blame you for wanting to work on your bike" she replied to her, not holding anything against her for the decision. She also had a strong feeling that Rinaa would want to hang out with Moya from the bike rental place.

She followed her through to the other range, walking into the safety zone where all the guns were lined up neatly for free pickings. She noticed all the other kids around their age training in the range and yet, she still had no inclination to join in on the shooting. This was clearly more Rinaa's thing and that was absolutely fine with her. She put on ear defenders when Rinaa pointed out the whole mandatory rule of having them on, and put them on willingly. Letting Rinaa walk over to the area she chose, Fia followed but remained in the safety zone and watched on as Rinaa was clearly lethal with such a weapon.

(Yeah, I've never been before but it's dedicated to the arrowverse only so a nice small one. Hopefully one day you'll get to go a bigger con!)

Without ear protection fo some sort, there was a serious possibility of being temporarily deafened. The range was being repurposed with a new lot of sound absorbing cladding, but it was slow progress and in the meantime the construction site and scaffolding only acted as a sound amplifier. Every few years the range was overhauled with the latest sound muffling and latest shooting technology, or expanded to add more ranges for specialised weapons. Even in Rinaa's time the development of the range was still an ongoing procedure.

Rinaa's gun stance was flawless, her elbows locked, and her fingers overlapping to form a solid grip. The recoil form the gun was deceptively large, but Rinaa knew how to compensate for it. She spent the first few clips from a stationary position, taking a step forwards as she reloaded. But where she really came into her element was the moving targets. There was a dome about fifteen-twenty metres across surrounded by a forcefield where a set of targets appeared and moved. It was a reaction shooting zone, designed to mimic a real life scenario of hunting or paintballing. Clay targets weren't used here, as the range of the pistol meant the firer ran a high risk of being hit by shrapnel. Rinaa set the programme, and unleashed her hail of bullets. She spun left, right, down and managed to add in a few flips and bounces off the forcefield as it was strong enough to do so. Nailing the last target, she let the last clip fall from the gun, catching it in her left hand with a half smile.

(Sounds pretty awesome for a con to me. And thanks. The far away dream is one of the massive ones like New York or San Diego, but I'll just wait and see)

Fia watched Rinaa intently this time, seeing how her skills as really coming into play on this range. Her stance was perfect, as was everything else, making it unbelievably obvious to Fia that Rinaa was trained by Jay. She could see the essence of Jay in Rinaa so well. As she watched, she folded her arms across her chest, her violin just dangling down in her left hand by her right side. She watched more as Rinaa moved onto the moving target, watching as the girl's parkour skills seemed to really shine as she bounces off the forcefield.

Fia was also impressed by the sheer speed she could unclip one clip and reload before firing off more bullets. Fia was capable of being skilled with firearms but not to the extent of Rinaa was showing. Yet she liked that difference between the two of them, the fact that Fia was more magic inclined and Rinaa was more tactical with firearms and mechanics. She was also curious if they were evenly matched in any way with blades as they both shared that mutual draw towards such a weapon.

(Same here for those big cons. I'd love to do San Diego particularly)

It was times like this that Rinaa's Jay side showed itself at its fullest extent. The way she moved, the way her muscles clenched and relaxed in her arms and shoulders, the way she watched every target with narrowed eyes, slipping into the thousand mile wolf stare that had given her her nickname back in her timeline. Leah could only change between Elliott's golden and Jay's silver, a bronze mix of both that only appeared when she was utterly furious and the regular stormy grey. Rinaa on the other hand could manipulate her irises at will. A consequence of the various eye genes in the genetic mess that was her DNA being unable to find one victorious shade.

She ran a hand across her forehead as she emerged from the forcefield. Doing the whole routine in a leather jacket wasn't her smartest idea to date. But she felt significantly better. Just like channeling her overwhelming sadness and fear through singing gave Rinaa a feeling of great catharsis, channeling all her anger and pain through a gun and into a target left her feeling much, much better. "I really needed that far more than I should have. Who knew guns were therapeutic?" She muttered half to herself, half to Fia before making her way back to return the gun and the empty clips

(same here, looking at the pictures always makes me so jealous every year)

Fia, watching on could see why Rinaa's timeline Fia would have given her the wolf nickname. It was only when she was briefly close to the forcefield that Fia could see through the tinted goggles how her eyes were constantly changing, giving her another reminder that Rinaa was not the same Leah she had grown up knowing. Seeing her wipe her forehead as she emerged from the forcefield when she Rinaa was done, she smirked. If heat could truly get to her, she'd have felt the same earlier.

"Whatever helps is what I say. Anything can be therapeutic I guess when you're good at something" She replied to her, following as Rinaa went to put the gun and empty clips away. "So, grabbing stuff and heading back?" She asked, clarifying more to herself the plan that they had in place. She had a feeling Rinaa would just leave the apartment as soon as she got back, whereas she'd stay behind, wait for the others to come back if they weren't already and possibly help Kay cook some proper food or something along those lines. She certainly was going to show off her new violin hybrid, that much was certain with Fia.

(Same lol! I see mates go each year and get very jealous lol)

Rinaa shrugged and responded with "or not good at it. As long as it takes your mind off whatever storm is raging mentally, then it provides some form of relief." She'd tried many things to distract her from the wave of suffocating sadness that always came over her when she thought of her own mortal state and the low grade pain that coursed through her on a daily basis. Keeping busy kept her sane, and planning this whole escapade had proved to be one of the most effective ways of keeping her sane. At Fia's next statement she nodded. "Yeah, that'd the gist of it really, unless you can think of some thú ng else that needs doing or picking up while we're out and you have somebody who can speak the language."

Back in the main entrance room, she unlocked the lock. It was her own padlock that she'd prought from her timeline and she clipped it back around the strap of her bag. She'd taken a key for this lock, and a few for some storage lockers she owned, but left all her others keys back in her timeline. She slung the bag over her shoulder and the guitar case went onto her back. Unlike John's case which was covered in old stickers and new ones with drawing Elliott had done, this case had no identifying marks. It was a simple black hardcase.

(oh that really sucks. luckily none of my friends have ever gone, so that can't happen to me)

Fia had to agree with Rinaa on that point. "good point" she replied. "Whatever it takes right?" She added, making an accidental Avengers Endgame reference. When Rinaa said that's the plan, unless she can think of a thing else, she gave it a thought for a brief moment but came up blank. "I can't think of anything off the top of my head. As the only thing needs doing is the case and that's a custom job really." she told her.

Back at the main entrance room, she opened the locker that had her own bag in and placed the violin carefully into her bag, zipping it up and put the bag on her back. Seeing the guitar case again, she still found it so strange to see it not personalised with either drawings or stickers. She was so used to seeing John's case and her own original violin case with some kind of decoration on it, seeing a plain case seemed so weird to her. "Ready?" She asked.

Rinaa rolled her eyes at the movie reference. She was quite the comic book/ comic book based movie appreciator, even if she liked to point out how unrealistic something was in terms of fighting abilities or stunts. "Okay then, that can be done another time I think." They made their way outside, the skies had brightened considerably since the morning and were a frail pale blue. "It's the different gas mixture in the atmosphere that causes the sky to turn colours like that. It's also what gives spectacular sunsets." Rinaa volunteered the information, figuring that this was something Fia would notice as the shade of blue was impossibly light compared to Earth.

Rinaa led the way back across the campus park to the other side where the bikes were. Just like before there were students milling around between classes some engaged in passionate discussions about classes, gesturing wildly to get their point across to each other. The university was large and it was a popular hobby of students to just wander around between lectures going nowhere in particular or to sit on a wall and eat pizza or listen to music. "I'm guessing you'll want to go back the scenic route as opposed to the motorway we took earlier?"

It was only when Rinaa rolled her eyes that she realised she made a reference to Endgame. She would have said she didn't intend that to become a reference but she figured it was pointless. If Rinaa was anything like her Leah, she wouldn't care or wouldn't believe her. Like Rinaa she appreciated a good comic based film, just for the sheer escapism even if they were unrealistic in certain elements. She nodded at the comment about the case being done another time, something she agreed with.

Walking out she did indeed notice how pale a shade of blue the sky was in comparison to Earth, and she couldn't help but stare in awe at it, especially when Rinaa spoke up about why it's different. "I see, awesome" she commented, looking back down at the world around her and not up at the sky. She followed Rinaa back to the bikes, seeing many students milling about just like before. The pang of longing to be a part of that lifestyle hit her all over again in her heart, as she reached the bikes with Rinaa. "Yeah, why not?" She replied back.

"Trust me this place has quite the sights." Rinaa replied, unlocking the bikes and getting onto hers. Hiking and nature based sightseeing was a surprisingly large industry here, but the beauty of the mountain ranges were renowned across the planet. Not all of Attil was anywhere near as scenic, most of it was pretty ordinary by planetary standards, but these mountains were the exception to the rule. Setting off she headed out of campus, looping around the back of the business school and heading for a bridge over to the next mountain. The bridge was anchored deep into each mountain, and thankfully didn't sway as they passed over it. There were older bridges that had become less stable due to the warping of the metals and the rock.

The path Rinaa took was just that, a path, a small tarmaced route designed for bikes and the brave hiker that wound its way up the side of the mountain. At first all that could be seen was the forested lands on either side, but as they travelled higher the bikes broke though the treeline and onto a path with a steep ravine on one side. The right had side offered a view onto the expanse of the mountains around them as well as the sprawl of the University and the town in the distance. The roadway was separated from the ravine by fences (it was too expensive to use a forcefield). The mountains were craggy from years of weathering and long ago glacial erosion. "pretty dope huh?"

With the bikes unlocked, Fia got on and started hers up. She followed and kept up with Rinaa with no problem, just like before. She took in the sights as just as she could as they does through the path and scenery. It was utterly insane and the forest area looked like just the place she'd like to go exploring in. It amazed her how sturdy the bridge was on the mountain, along with other scenes she was witnessing.

As they broke through the forest areas and onto the ravine, she had a look of amazement on her face. She hadn't seen anything like it. "It really is! It's insane!" She said back, taking it all in, riding close behind Rinaa. "This is definitely not a sight I'll forget." She chimed up after, only planning on stopping when Rinaa did. She was just happy she was getting to witness the sights of Attil when she didn't think she'd ever get to.

Fia's eyes were bulging so wide at the sites that Rinaa was quite tempted to take a photo of her awe-struck face. It was unlike anything London had to offer, and the rocks themselves were of a different composition to those on Earth. According to Jay, the landscapes were comparable to the Alps or Himalayas without the snow cover. "Trust me, you don't. Any mountain you ever see, you'll be comparing to this area for the rest of your life. This whole area is one of the top five most stunning geomorphological areas on the whole planet. Its crazy beautiful, and has its dangers, but they are totally worth it."

The area didn't change too much in the future, one section of the pathway had to be reconstructed and rerouted due to a major collapse, but it stayed just as beautiful. Rinaa found herself speeding up as she ascended, leaning low and swerved gracefully around the corners. She pulled over onto a wide plateau that seemed to have been created as a view point. It wasn't, it was just a quirk of nature that had led it to become like that. Rinaa propped her elbows against one of the fences and just stared out over the valley below her. The last time she had been up the mountains was for the initial meeting with Elliott. He had said dealer's choice and this was her choice, always. She had taken Elliott to her favourite spot, the one she was with Fia at was her third or fourth favourite. She gestured at the landscape, rugged, beautiful, wild, untamed and in its own way full of life. "This is what life should be, never forget that."

"all the best places have their dangers" Fia commented back, truly believing that from all the places she had read about in the world. She really did need to travel more when she went back to her time, even if it was frowned upon by her parents, she had to go. She was now more determined than ever, even if it meant she was putting herself into great danger and risk of being captured.

She followed on bike up as they ascended and then pulled over next to Rinaa, getting off the bike and standing next to her. Looking out, she had to get her phone out and snap a couple of photos, one of which was a selfie before putting her phone away and just taking in the view to its full extent. It was truly a sight to witness, and she was feeling so lucky and privileged to see it for herself. She found herself glancing across at Rinaa when she made a remark she wouldn't have expected her to tell Fia. "I won't forget it. That's one thing for certain. Seeing this place? It's made me.mkre determined to go exploring and travelling. Even if mum and dad don't like the idea, I have to go. I've read about so many places that sound amazing, and I want to see them for myself. Not just read about them" she replied to Rinaa, and it was clear by her tone she was determined and being truthful with her words. "I know it's a risk, but I'm sick of being feeling trapped. You've really opened my eyes Rinaa" she added with a smile, meaning it.

Rinaa hadn't meant to let out something so deep, and meaningful about her life and though process, but the words were out and she couldn't take them back any time soon. At Fia's words about not forgetting, a twinge of sadness came over her. If things worked out the way she hoped, Fia mightn't ever remember this conversation, this view or anything they did together. For some reason that made her sad, maybe it was because she was having a glimpse of the life she should have had and craved more, craved something better. Something where the family wasn't at odds with one another, with her and Jay treating family reunions as a battlefield. Rinaa found herself imagining a timeline where the family were the group of this time- a tight, lively bunch who had each others backs no matter what.

"Travelling well worth it. Trust me, I've been doing it all my life. Its wild, it's crazy, and well for me, damn dangerous. You'll know that Elliott was nicknamed 'the wanderer' cos he'd just up and leave for weeks on end. John's no stranger to travelling of his own free will, he's spent many a long week doing gods don't even want to know what with people like Nat and Noah and Zee and Jim Corrigan. Jay's a nomad, her birth planet is gone completly, hence why she grew up travelling. So it's in the family in some way or another. And I have no doubt its in you." She paused, considering her words, whether she should dig a deeper hole for herself or not.
