Realistic or Modern Heroes of Today: God's Territory

Norm Hall

Norm turned to Hanah for a moment before he lets out a sigh. "I'm just worried, sorry about that." He says in a solemn tone, but not before Soleil hugs him from behind. Norm felt a bit of relief, but yet he is still worried. All seems fine for now. He turns to Hanah once more and ask "May I know who you are? You said something about my friend."

The infamous Hero Killer watches the group from the rooftops. He already recognizes the three and had sworn bitter revenge against them. "I need more info..." He mutters as he sets his sight on Hanah, who proclaims that she doesn't have powers. "Don't worry girl, you'll get yours...soon." Is he plotting to give Hanah powers? Or does he plan to kidnap her and turn her into one of his monsters? We may never know.

"My name is Mechanic, or you could call me just Hanah. Your friend looks like my sister, she's catgirl and has black hair too."
Hanah taked hold of side of motor home and get up, then she taked look of her hand that she had used to press her head, it was bloody.
"Oh, crap."

Norm Hall

"Huh..." Norm says as he begins to think of the coincidences between Soleil and Hanah's sister. All for a while, he noticed Hanah's bleeding head. "You should go see a doctor. Want me to take you to the hospital?" Norm asks.

Hanah looked stunned to her hand, she hadn't money with her, or even bank account. Both of them had choiced to get their money in cash.
"I don't have money and my sister could come back when i am gone."

Overall, the stay at the hospital was not too bad. The woman at the desk must have expressed the urgency of Vicky's injuries to the doctor because pretty soon she was getting an x-ray and then rushed into emergency surgery. As was standard protocol, she was out for most of her stay, taken in, put under, and then moved out of ICU after a relatively short operation. Luckily, she'd gotten away with uncomplicated, relatively minor injuries, and after only a few hours she'd been patched up good as new and was given a bed for a few nights so they could look out for any unexpected complications.

Technically, she wasn't supposed to be out of bed, recently post-op and all, but she was feeling pretty good and her stomach didn't even hurt anymore. She was hungry though, and curious where her stuff was. The second issue was solved after a quick look around the room. There was storage space off in the corner with her backpack, though her clothes were no where to be found. Despite that she wasn't too upset, the pants were beyond repair from her tumble down the street and she just would have thrown them out anyway, and she had gotten blood, ash, and the burning acrid smell of smoke ingrained into her shirt. Her coat and jacket were still in the backpack though, thankfully mold free, after a brief inspection, but still wet. The money had somehow also survived, along with the slightly damp but wearable sweater she'd wrapped it in.

Slipping her sweater over her patient scrubs, Vicky left the room in search of food. Someone would probably be around her take her back to her room, but she wasn't really in the mood to leave the hospital as a whole so it didn't really matter. As long as she got some food first. Actually, she still had a couple breakfast bars left, so she ended up munching on those as she wandered through the building. She supposed the urgency of her treatment and also maybe a privacy policy kept the staff from going through her things.

The hospital was nice, she'd noticed this when she first came in, but even the patient wards were nice, if a bit overwhelmingly antiseptic. And then she completely lost track of where she was and where she was going, as if she had any idea in the first place, and ended up back in the lobby. Waving cheerfully at the receptionist, she wandered around the perimeter of the room trying to figure out where to go from here when a little kid curled up on a bench caught her eye. The kid hadn't been there before, though she'd been there long enough none of the faces were familiar.

Despite the late hour, there were still a good number of people in the lobby. She didn't really understand why she was so interested in the kid, but she was and that was good enough for her. So she forgot about food for a moment and went to take a seat next to the kid.

"Heya, watcha doin here by yourself?"

The child's lone, uncovered eye slowly opened at the sound of another voice, this one unfamiliar. A patient--if her odd mis-match of clothing meant anything--was sitting on the bench next to him. Slowly, Eko reached up, pulling his headphones down and allowing them to rest stop his shoulders, pulling his long hair into place and giving more shape to his shrouded form.

Normally, Eko would have put some distance between himself and the stranger, but for some reason, her demeanor seemed a little familiar, that of the sort of person that didn't really talk much. Someone not too different from himself.

"...Someone is bringing me food," he answered, his reply half addressing her question, and half not. If his wrinkled clothes were any indication, he hadn't changed in quite some time, with the particularly firm creases about the back and bottom of his sweater hinting at long periods spent sitting. Perhaps he had been on the road for quite some time.

He briefly glanced toward the receptionist, looking at her for a while, before looking back to the patient, tilting his head a little bit as he noticed a small bit of granola clinging to the side of her mouth. He would probably be in trouble when the staff realized he didn't have any relatives in treatment, unless...

"...Hey. If you're hungry, I'll give you half of whatever they bring me if you pretend to be my sister for a while," he offered, pushing his head up slightly from its place behind his knees and sweater sleeves.

"No, don't worry. My parents can handle the expenses." Norm says "Both of them are working for Heroes of Today. My dad's an X-Class while my mom is a V-Class. I'm sure they can handle the bills and such."

Paul Brown

Having walked a fairly long distance to his apartment, Paul was breathing rather heavily and had worked up a bit of a sweat. But most of all, with the combination of the brief fight and long walk, he was really hungry. He decided to stop at a subway not too far from home and ordered the biggest, most unhealthy sandwich he could stomach. Paul wasn't feeling inclined to a salad right now. Getting a seat at the window, Paul began his greasy feast.

"Don't worry about them, I'll figure a way to make them do something. What's important is that you should get yourself patched up. Come on." Norm says before he begins to take Hanah to a nearby hospital, followed by Soleil and Lune.

Killian followed them quietly, still in a small state of shock by what had happened earlier "yea he is right" he finally spoke up, gaining his composure "we should get to the hospital before you lose too much blood" he stated fixing his pirate looking jacket "don't want anything bad happening....again" he mumbled the last part before shaking his head

Surprised by the kid's request, Vicky was quiet for a moment while she thought it over. She was still hungry, and it's not like her being the kid's sister was an impossible request. The receptionist probably thought he was waiting for a family member anyway, and considering the timing claiming to be related wasn't unrealistic. Also food, that was good. At this point she didn't really care what she had to do for food. At least this was easy.

"Sure, why not?" She shifted around a little to get more comfortable. "What's your name?"

Now that she had a more vested interest in the kid's identity, it became easier to see why she was drawn to him in the first place. He looked a little familiar, in the kind of way seeing a stranger pass you on the commute to work is familiar. Still, how she knew his face was lost to her and quickly shoved back into the crumpled pile of things to think about later.

He seemed very shy, and a bit rumpled himself. Even if he only just got to the hospital, he'd been going somewhere for a very long time. Where he came from wasn't important though, and if it became important she'd cross that bridge when she came to it. Yeah, where ever he was going Vicky wanted to help him out for a bit, even if she changed her mind later. He was just a kid after all, about the same age as that girl from the occupied abandoned building, he wasn't going to survive in Empire City without someone supporting him.

The child's demeanor almost seemed to unfurl slightly as the girl agreed, as if some sort of huge weight had suddenly been lifted off of the child's shoulders in that moment. "Eko," he said as he raised his head a little more, a light smile becoming visible just over the top of his white sleeves. He briefly flicked some of his long, dark hair towards the side with a quick, practiced motion, only for it to slowly fall right back into place.

Before he could say any more, however, the sounds of footsteps clacking against the tiled floor prompted Eko to turn his head towards the re-approaching hall monitor, the woman casting a curious eye between the two figures on the bench. In one hand she carried a small plastic container, a sandwich of some sort held within. "I hope tuna is okay..." she began, trailing off as he held the container forward.

Eko's smile immediately grew, and he reached eagerly for the offered container with both hands, sliding his knees from a protective position to a cross-legged one. The container let out a pair of sharp pops as the child opened its printed clasps, picking up half of the neatly parted sandwich and holding it out to Vicky, briskly compelled by the childish version of honor backing their deal. Eko himself seemed so enraptured with the prospect of food that he did not even tell the woman thank you.

She, however, did not seem to mind, instead seeming a little amused by Eko's immediate offering of half the sandwich to Vicky. "And you must be..." she trailed off, mouth opened in the form of a smile mixed with an awkward hesitation to continue, likely waiting for a prompt as to just who she was in order to avoid a potential misstep.

It did not took very long until they reached the hospital. They went straight for the emergency room, hoping to get a quick fix for Hanah's head. They were granted, but they were told that they should leave Hanah alone so that the doctor can properly treat her. Unknown to them, Hanah would get more than JUST a treatment.

"so are we just gonna wait here?" he looked over to norm from the waiting room chair, fiddling with his necklace. he looked at his phone to check the time, even though they had only been sitting there for a few minuets it felt like hours "I still don't approve of the shooting" he looked up

Gum Meister

"Later," Gum Meister says as he heads back to HQ. He returns to his room where he dresses back to civilian form. As he lies down on his bed, he stares at the ceiling with a smile on his face. He got to save some people like a true hero.

Still he felt quite terrible for the property destruction even if he hadn't actually destroyed anything himself.

"Maybe I should volunteer to help out. Yeah... that'll be good. Heroes don't just do hero work; they also do volunteer stuff too out of the goodness of their heart. Thats the plan but first... some shut eye." He closes his eyes as he takes a nap on his bed.

Norm Hall

"Ah, let them be. That's how they do their 'heroism'." Norm says "But say, who are you? The name's Norm Hall by the way. The catgirl and the one-arm is Soleil and Lune, my adopted sisters."

Lion Gold X

Hanah had been sitting by the chair when all of a sudden, straps began to wrap around the girl. Lion then makes his appearance at the frightened Hanah and say "What a beautiful specimen we have here. I can give you something of equal value, in exchange for the info about the heroes."

He takes out a syringe that contains and unknown serum and injects it into Hanah's arm. Afterwards, the serum begins to take effect, with the healing of her wounds first and then gaining her a new power. "I'll be waiting for you and that information. That is all for now." Lion says before he disappears.

"So you're working with Heroes of Today then." Norm says "My parents are also superheroes; my dad is an X-Class and my mom is a V-Class. What kind of class you are in?"

You can come out now Hanah.

Killian Mikhail
Killian scratched his head awkwardly " im only a C class currently" he sighed "I don't really understand the full grasp of my powers" he rubbed his necklace "I don't really understand them at all, what about you? are you a hero?" he asked sitting up in his seat "do you have any powers?". Killian tries to keep talking to distract the fact that he was desperately scared of hospitals, needles freaked him out and so did nurses oddly enough.

"I'm Vicky," she replied to the woman, not really paying attention to her, eyes fixed on the sandwich as she took it eagerly, "Eko's sister."

There was silence for a moment as Vicky finished her sandwich in just a few large bites. She was hungrier than she thought, though a quick glance at Eko suggested something similar of him. Alright, first order of business after leaving the hospital would be to hit up a fast food joint or something. Nothing fancy for the time being, but she'd need to stock up on healthier stuff in the near future, Eko was just a kid after all, and at this point it was pretty obvious there was no one around to take care of him. Whether he agreed or not she was taking him in.

When she turned back to the woman who brought the sandwich, Vicky was mildly surprised she was still there.
"I was in a car accident and had to come in for emergency surgery," she explained at the woman's curious stare. "I feel fine now though. Is it alright if we head home?"

While waiting for an answer, Vicky's attention was stolen by the sudden appearance of one of the girls from the bank and a small army of other oddballs. They must have shown up after she already left, though why there were so many people was beyond her. Sure Hanah was a bit beat up, more than she was before, but it didn't look too bad. But to be far Vicky supposed she wasn't the best judge of such things. Maybe she ran into trouble afterwards and these people happened to be in the area. That seemed likely, though she didn't recognize any of them, so either they were just good Samaritans or they were new to the Heroes of Today.

Hanah was taken away and the two guys began a very uncomfortable conversation while the two girls that came with them stood around in the background. Weird, she hoped none of them felt the need to talk to anyone else. It was getting to loud for a hospital lobby and she just wanted to get her and Eko out of there.

Man, Vicky internally deflated at the realization she was going to have to be more responsible with Eko around. Whatever, she was still keeping him.

Eko tore through the sandwich he was offered with the fervor of a hungry child, tempered ever so slightly with a light attempt at politeness. He was quiet, and he wasn't messy, but boy was he fast. Though, anyone who's ever been a hungry kid knows what that sort of feeling can do to you.

The hall monitor frowned slightly, glancing up and down at Vicky. "...Well, I'm no doctor, so I suppose you'd have to go talk to one in order to get a proper discharge notice. As well as...The rest of your clothing," she stated, smiling lightly as she took note of the lower portion of Vicky's scrubs poking out from the edge of her jacket. "If you'd rather do so right this moment, I can escort you back to your room and call for a doctor. If one's immediately available, they'll be there within five to ten minutes." The monitor offered a practiced, yet nonetheless genuine smile.

As several others filtered into the hall, Eko slowly entered a more guarded state, especially when he noticed how strange some of them looked. Were they some of the heroes that he had heard about? Were people going to get angry that they were there? Had something happened nearby?

Slowly, he looked up to this odd new friend of his, this Vicky. Apparently, Eko wasn't all that thrilled about the sudden arrival of new patrons into the lobby either.

"interesting" he mumbled and looked over to see someone giving him a strange look which only made him feel more awkward than he already felt. did he look odd? Killian looked down and saw he still had on his hero attire because he was going to go out on patrol "Crud" muttered and shrugged off his jacket and untied the bandana that was around his neck to give him a more....normal appearance. he ruffled his hair and looked at his phone "how long does getting stiches take?"
