Dice Heart of the Mountain [WoD]

It's @ExtraWhiteRice's turn now, so I'll let him take it first unless he is busy. Then, you and the guards can take him down together. Harry and Burns are going to Delay. James is leaving.

Making an insanity check for Terrance, because it makes sense (5 dice)

[dice]14577[/dice]

He is Shaken, but nothing else happens.

Terrance

4 Bashing damage taken

Willpower 1/2

Condition: Shaken

I know it sounds crazy, but Meila gets another beat for her delusional behavior (Flaw/Insanity).

You gotta stop with the puns, man...

Meila beats

4/5

Kreigar sneaks on Terrance and disarm him

I get to only roll attacks since there is no defense.

[dice]14578[/dice]

Failure

I figured out I was doing defense incorrectly, it only decreases by 1 until the next turn, and it dosen't stick. I'll try to do it correctly from now on.

@ExtraWhiteRice decided to Pass his turn to the Police.

So the way this works. The guards combined are going to roll 10 dice and anything they get gives a bonus to Caeda's grab.

[dice]14582[/dice]

So this time, Caeda gets a whopping +1 more dice than before.

So to recap, @ValkyrieRose rolls 4 dice total to try to grab the man, and then she can try to put handcuffs on him.

Remember that you can spend willpower on this kinda stuff.

huh, good point. I still don't have the mechanical knowledge to immedatly think about that... ill spend one. 6 dice, then? Leggo

[dice]14584[/dice]

@ValkyrieRose

All you need is one~

Caeda Willpower (4/5)

Now you roll 4 Dice AGAIN to put him in the handcuffs, and remember you can spend willpower on this again too~ ( ;) )

Normally, Ten would go next, but in this case I'm resolving it right away.

i don't think i should spend much willpower... it's a rare commodity from what i can understand

@ValkyrieRose

Good thing you don't need it, so you have him handcuffed now, feel free to post how you did that. The problem is that you cuffed his hands, but he still has the gun...He'd take a penalty to fire it, but he's going to make another shot.

[dice]14586[/dice]

Wow, Ok....this is funny. CRITICAL FAILLLLL

Anyway, if you want to include that, he basically would fire into the ground and you'd knock the gun out of his hand.

Combat is over. We're back to posting normally.

@Ten Fairfield is posting next, and then I'll continue with the texts after everyone responds to him.

Once I'm done posting the texts, session 1 will be over. Good Job guys.

Some of you recover willpower due to winning the fight.

Willpower

Caeda: +1 [5/5]

Johnny: +1 [1/2]

@KarlWarrior47 agreed to quit the roleplay, but rather than having him die I had him put in jail for the moment.

Healing Roll to help Johnny

[dice]14596[/dice]

[dice]14597[/dice]

Johnny's HP is now 5/6 (Bashing), so he can get up. It'll take him about 4 hours to recover completely.

Regardless of your characters real age, he's still an old man in Meila's eyes. Just the way she perceives things. :P

Wits + Investigation

[dice]14638[/dice]

You notice no visible mechanisms or anything of the sort around the mirror. The mirror's reflection seems oddly crisp and bright, but beyond that it's normal. Feeling around, you realize touching it with your hand does nothing. There's tons of broken glass, bottles, ect. and you do spot a silver flask that looks like a whisky flask, but has a silvery mercury-like bitter tasting liquid within. Problem the "truth goop" that the 'Princess' mentioned. Would you like to take it?

-points to the cursed axe you took in the last DCC game-

If Tabletop games teach you anything, it should be to be careful what you take...

i should probably make my own wits+ investigation?
That's not needed, because johnny can't really find anything. Unless you're looking at something other than the mirror and the bar, I wouldn't bother.

if Dungeons and Dragons Taught me Anything, you shouldn't just loot everything that isn't nailed to the floor, you should generally inspect any items you find, inspect every corridor you cross, inspect any doors you intend to enter. and even bring somebody with the ability to reactively spot pressure plates or other hazards, such as a Rogue, a Bard, an Elf, or a Monk.

Well that was an in character thing, that and out of character I did not want the Munchkin who already had the record of betraying the party for own goals/power to touch it the clearly cursed but powerful object (and we know he would have if I didn't). And it still semi-worked out in the end.

P.S. Sorry, he still ticks me off, I said my peace, lets drop that topic.

Glad to see your feeling better, being sick sucks.

generally, i try to work with the party, even in the few instances my character was spying on them. and even if told by the Patron to Betray the Party, i would probably try to at least Vouch on the Party's behalf from personal Experience. now, if an Evil Munchkin backstabbed me for their own goals, i would return the favor. but i wouldn't backstab an honest player for a dispute in goals. i would instead collaborate on the compromise.

i remember being in a 3.5 Edition Group that was like 2nd-3rd level, with a pair of Minmaxed Lion Totem Goliath Barbarian Brothers who for some reason, had a lot of bonuses of +2 or better and never seemed to roll lower than a 15 on a skill Roll or less than 20 on an Attack Roll, and they sat on the far side of the table where they could get away with fudging with their unreadable d20s. i was playing a shaman who was supposed to be a support debuffer, and people expected the little girl to be the party healer, when debuffing through elemental attacks and well, they strongarmed her into being a healbot for their own plans to be the most overwhelmingly overgeared 2nd level characters ever.
