Hey miss Shark!

Okay, so like, the craziest thing happened! I was in the Widersia Adventurer Guild looking for work and I asked if there were any monsters that needed killing that'd taste good, as after the [monster] bear that I killed and ate, I started liking to eat what I kill, you know.

Yet they looked at me as if I was insane! I mean, I have some screws loose, sure, but it's not that bad. It's normal to eat what you kill, right? It'd be a waste otherwise! Anyhow, so there was this dude going like 'she sounds like that shark' and I was like, wait, what, a shark?

So I asked him and he goes 'oh, there's this low-ranking adventurer here that's some Lake Nation Shark Woman, she stands out a lot as her sword has even more teeth that muzzle of hers' and I was totally stunned! That sounds SO COOL, a sword with teeth? You're a Shark with a Sword that has teeth? It's amazing! So I asked Valerius and he thought the same. We totally want to meet you and your sword now!

By the way, if you are really from the Continental Lake, are there bathhouses there? Bathing underwater would be so funny! We could go together! Or we could go on a mission hunting down a Cockatrice or Drake! I heard those taste delicious!

Then we go to a bathhouse after! By the way, do you like Bonding Rituals? I now they're a Fae thing, but I really came to enjoy them. I bet they'd be even more fun with a Shark, as Sharks are cool in general!

Anyhow, if you want to meet us, let me know, cause we sure want to meet you! It'd be a lot of fun!

With regards,

Almeida and Valerius

Dear miss and sir Fire spirit Flare,

Is that how you write it? I am sorry if I am wrong, I am trying to write it in Common to practice.

Anyhow, thank you for helping me during that really scary mission with the goblins. You were really fire back then.

Thankfully, I got to meet miss Eirlys in the Healing Garden and she helped me get my finger and toe back. Now I can count to ten again with ease! I'm even learning to count much better!

After that, I went to find and bring back home some cats in Nor-ro-bur-ry in Ryke. One of the cats was all smoke. It reminded me of you. Do you make smoke?

If we meet again, I can tell you more!

Bye!

Dear miss Aqua,

Thank you for helping me with the scary goblins. I am still writing to learn Common.

I think I am doing better now, because miss Eirlys helped me get my toe back in the Healing Garden.

After that, I went to find and bring back home some cats in Nor-ro-bur-ry in Ryke. One of the cats was pretty and blue-like and it reminded me of the pretty and blue-like colour of your hair.

Also, do you still do the magic as well? I want to get better at doing the magic.

If we meet again, perhaps you can teach me!

Bye!

Dear miss Feebe Phoebe,

I am writing to learn more Common. Your name is difficult.

Thank you again for helping me with the scary goblins. Do you still do lighting to bad people?

Your hair was really pretty. Is it still pink?

I went to find and bring back home some cats in Nor-ro-bur-ry in Ryke. Perhaps you would have also liked the cats. One of them reminded me of Flare and another of Aqua.

I got my toe and finger back from miss Eirlys in the Healing Garden, so I can now count to ten again with ease, but I might not even need to use fingers. I can do the numbers much better now.

Also, do you still do the magic? I want to get better at doing the magic.

If we meet again, perhaps you can teach me, just like I asked Aqua!

Bye!

Dear mister Thane,

Do you still do the fighting against bad people? You did that really well against the scary goblins as well.

Miss Eirlys in the Healing Garden helped me get my toe and finger back, so I have all ten now.

I went to find and bring back home some cats in Nor-ro-bur-ry in Ryke. There was a really scary man on a really scary horse in really scary armour. He told me to be brave. I think you know how to be brave, even if you are not as scary as him.

If we meet again, perhaps you can also help me to be brave! You seem like a nicer version of that man, as he was a bit mean and really scary. Yet both of you seem strong. Are you still strong?

Bye!

Hey,

You know that dude your shorty friend was investigating? Klyios. That annoying fuck vanished like thin air. It pissed me the fuck off. His chances may be ruined, but I want to make him pay. If you're down to come hunt him down with me, that'd be neat.

Anyhow, what have you been up too? Things have been pretty chill here, other than the fucker going missing. My boss was pleased we got him sentenced, at least. So props to you and the shorty. Thanks again for that.

Which reminds me, we were gonna hang out, weren't we? Tell me when I'll reserve us a spot. Though tell me, what do you like more. Feeling like the world is one giant colourful mess, starting to forget who or what you are, thinking time is just an illusion and that we're all timeless blobs or feeling so energised that you could take on the entire town? Just for reference.

See ya,

Recipient: Ophenia Faynorae Faynorae
Canon Status: Written and then burned along with some Carnations.
Dear Ophenia,

Weird as it feels, I was told that writing down your 'feelings' helps process them. Seeing how I hated the idea of writing them down for no reason other than that, I decided to write you. Should the ritual work, perhaps you'll find this message in the afterlife.

On that front, I do not understand why you ended up dying. I only know that it adds to the injustice done during these events. My own death and reincarnation into this awful [monster] form is already painful, having that experience happen to my beloved only made it far, far worse. I couldn't even introduce the both of you to one another.

Then, hearing that you, the one that aided me in figuring out my feelings regarding my beloved, have died without even being resurrected at all? It is infuriating. It's an emotion I've been feeling a lot, perhaps due to the monster nature, but I likely would've felt it even without it. After all, you even made me feel an odd enthusiasm of joy during those concerts of yours that I had previously forgotten about. Other than my beloved, you might be among the few capable of bringing out such odd feelings within me.

Truthfully, part of me feels like I should find out who did it and bring them to justice, then to find your remains and assure you are being brought back to this world myself. If it wasn't for my beloved being caught up in this, I might have done so already.

If there is any justice in this world, however, I believe it won't be long before your voice is heard on stages again. Someone like you, who was somehow able to win over so many, should not go out like this. So, if this message's reaches you in the afterlife, don't keep waiting. Also, please take some notes if you learn anything about the Ethereal whilst there. It would surely further my research.

With regards,

Deliverance

Put Sylvan Leaf tea, 1 ounce of Dwarven Wine, orange juice, orange peel, sugar, and spices in a pan and bring to a boil. Add prunes and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the prunes and simmer the sauce to reduce it a bit if needed. Add the second ounce of Dwarven Wine to the sauce.

Heat the oven. Salt and pepper the bird and set aside. Using the pan you will cook the bird in, saute the bacon until crisp and remove. When cool, crumble the bacon. Keep the fat in the pan. Place the bird in the bacon fat and place in the heated oven for about 12 minutes.

Remove from the oven. Put over low flame and add the demi-glace, spooning it over the bird. Add the prunes and the sauce and the sage leaves and warm the sauce with the bird, then serve with sauce, topped with crumbled bacon.

Anyhow, I was doing some research on happiness when I learned that the Lymantraius Rex is famous for causing happiness in the West Empire. These adorable creatures are said to be peaceful, docile and very peaceful. Also fluffy. It's why I heard that they are amazing comfort companions.

Seeing how I learned that you are considered 'One with Lymantraius Rex', I figured you might be able to help me figure out how to study them for happiness. Or perhaps train them for happiness!

Do you know if it's a happiness hormone that allows them to make people happy? Or perhaps its just due to how fluffy they are? Are you also able to bring happiness with hormones and being fluffy, due to being one with them? If you are, could you teach me?

I'd love to know more about that, so please, let me know!

Wishing you all the happiness in the world,

Zahrah!

After some researcher, I discovered that the magical substance known as 'chocolate' is amazing for increasing happiness. After some further researching, I learned that you are known for providing such a substance. In other words, it would be amazing if we could meet! I'd be really happy if you helped me research the happiness spreading potential of chocolate through your craft!

Considering I cannot eat anything, I'll have to rely fully on your expert judgement, but I'm sure it'll be great! So if you want to help me research the happiness spreading potential of chocolate, I'd be happy! I could maybe sew you something or play some songs for you in turn?

Thanks in advance! Wishing you all the happiness in the world,

<Hey Aedri!

How have things been? Me and Valerius have been doing great! I learned how to speak Beastial and Sylvan and even Abyssal, so I can talk to so many more people now!

We also went to fight some bugs, some really strong ones. Purpler was around for that for a bit as well! We couldn't eat those bugs like the bear though, which was a shame. There was also an Elf with us who died, but we managed to revive her in a bathhouse and did some bonding rituals. Do you have those rituals in Kuridan as well? We didn't do them when we were there.

Anyhow, we also went to this really fun art gallery! There was a big fight and I got to wield Meownir, even though Valerius got a bit jealous. I also met a Jellyfish person with amazing skin and clothing I think her clothing would look really great on you, so you should contact her! Rua Somueine is her name.

Also, how's your dad doing? I wanted to write him to say thanks for the bath and bear, but I got told the message couldn't be delivered. Pretty weird, as the mail normally seems to work regardless of the whom or what.

We should totally hang out again soon. I'll be going to Kuridan to whack some moles, so I'll be in the area! Let me know and I can come hang out on the way back! Perhaps I'll even bring some friends!

Hope to see you soon!

[Hello Decimus!

How have you been? Are you still revitalised after that bath? Did you meet up again with Yuna yet? Did she tell you about how we defeated some pretty big bugs? We couldn't get a chance to eat them though.

We also had an Elf ally who died, but we got her resurrected at a bathhouse, where she taught us a lot of bonding rituals! Did you know those are a thing? We didn't have them in Widersia, but perhaps they are too old-fashioned for such a modern place? Either way, they were a lot of fun! Perhaps those could also help you keep young if you find people to do them with!

Anyhow, I went to an art gallery in Ryke next, where I got to wield the mighty Meownir and save the buffet. It was a lot of fun! Now I'm probably going to go whack some moles in Kuridan! I'll be great, I think!

I hope you've been doing well as well! Say hi to Yuna for me if she's around! And to Surius!

Letter:

Dear Amice,

What a pleasant surprise to hear from you again Amice! I was actually thinking to send you a letter one of these days to see how you were doing but it seems you've beaten me too it.

I don't even know what I'd truly identify as, you know, being a fire elemental and all. We're pretty fluid with that kind of stuff, or at least I am, given the lack of... well, you know. But you're not far off calling me "sir and ma'm" in terms with how I currently see myself. For simplicity sake, you can refer to me as "they" and "them", but I don't take offense to being called sir or miss either. Or just "Flare" is perfectly fine.

And I am absolute relieved to hear that you got your finger back! Thank the gods! That mission was really scary for me too. And I'm sorry for everything that has happened there. I wasn't as strong back then to save you from that horrible experience and it really haunted me for the longest time. I felt guilty about it. But I'm glad that you've seemed to be recovering surprisingly well from that experience.

I'm now much stronger and experienced then I was prior, so I can better protect you and my friends. Growing stronger every week!

And cats! I love em! Never heard of a cat made of pure smoke but that sounds like the perfect pet for me. I certainly don't have to worry about burning them that's for sure, haha! And yes, I do tend to produce a bunch of smoke - though I can and still am learning to control it effectively. Definitely wouldn't want you or any of my friends choking on my fumes because that is NOT healthy! Unless we're talking about enemies then in that case, well, they can choke on that.

I too have made a new friend recently - a sword with a soul infused into it if you believe it. Her name is "Sera" and she's been a vital companion and friend to me since we first met. Which now that I think of it was a bit after that goblin quest we were in. I'll gladly introduce you to her when we meet again.

Either way, I'm so glad things are looking up for you Amice. I'm sure we'll cross paths in the near future.

Take care!

Dear Aurora,

I do hope you meant what you said. I find that name quite charming. And I hope the day sees you well.

Yes, the Fae have taken to calling me this "Champion of Light". I still question their naming conventions even to this day. I think they chose a fitting title for Lord Yukan. His passion is what inspired be to follow him, and it is what will lead to a better Republic if we find ourselves victorious in our quest. But I believe that they may have been confused when granting titles to Kota and I.

Between the two of us, I find his personality to be far more warm and optimistic. Hopeful if you will. Much like a light. Yet I consider myself to be the far more flexible one, unlike our stubborn, headstrong fox. Much like, say, a river. Odd. Though, it matters little. Misplaced or not, these titles will serve us well in the days to come. We should be able to use them to garner support for Yukan from the fae.

Do forgive Kota, though, Aurora.

The tunnels were treacherous. There were filled with flammable ooze, violent insects as massive as black bears and paths that threatened to crumble beneath one's feet every step of the way. I know not who accompanied Kota on his journey into the nest, but I was lucky to find myself journeying into that pit alongside a sorcerer by the name of Jareth. I did what I could to protect him as we made our way to the egg chamber, but I will tell no lies. Were it not for the many and varied magics at his disposal, I surely would've fallen within that nest that day. If you are grateful to hear that I did not fall on that day, be grateful to the Sorcerer Jareth as well.

And, if you encounter him on your journey through Rotia, do give him his due respect.

There is one last thing I would like for you to know. Yukan and I, alongside a group of well-intentioned adventurers, dispatched a small cult in the village of Taeko and are working to fortify the town before departing. We believe that this particular village will see many conflicts in the days to come. If you seek us out, do not come here. We will likely be gone before you arrive. And, even if we are not, I believe it wise to head for our next destination and convene with us there. Once we finish our work here, we will be making our way to Yasaki City, in the Republic.

I repeat: Yasaki City.

I look forward to seeing you there, comrade. May your days be prosperous until we meet again,

Okami

Anyhow, that's not the most important. What's most important is what you are! You're also a seamstress, right? Yet I heard rumours you've got THE MOST AMAZING fashion, right? Right? Now, I know that being pretty and beautiful and being cute and adorable and being handsome and charming and all that can be done with the right clothes, right? It also helps self-esteem and expression and all that. In turn, all those things are great for happiness, right?

So, by that logic, clothes are really important to help make someone happy. So if you're someone that makes clothes, like me, you're someone that makes people happy, right? So! I want to learn more from you! We should totally study making people happy through making clothes together! I'm sure you would have a lot to teach me, but perhaps I could also teach you?

Anyhow, I'd love to meet up!

Dear miss Louvier,

I am writing you in order to inquire if your services are momentarily available. You see, I am struggling with a very particular issue. Assuming you have had proper training, I know that I can tell you this in the utmost confidence that the contents of this letter will not reach another's eyes or ears.

You see, my daughter, the current baroness Caelia in Ryke, was not raised as a noble. If anything, she was raised in rather humble conditions. Despite my own experiences with nobility, I was unable to teach her how a noble should live and it is showing some downsides.

For example, I find her cleaning her own clothing, making her own breakfast and sometimes even cleaning up another's mess. Whilst such things show humility, I do believe she does it too often and might end up being considered a peasant in her own castle. I believe she really needs someone to teach her what not to do as a baroness, due to it being a maid's duty.

Although I've pushed her to hire staff on multiple occasions, she seems to have hired more guards, some administrators that seem oddly focused on wagging their tails at her, a few personal guards and lately a Steward for the castle. Whilst a Steward might at least be able to take some of the daily duties away from her, she still falls into the same habits of doing chores, even when she's already busy with her duties as a baroness.

Seeing as to how I'm at my wits end, I'd love to hire a maid that can proactively do these tasks before she can automatically do them herself. To show her that she has other priorities and that she has a status to live up too now. If you are interested in this job, I could hire you immediately on a trail basis and would consider hiring you on a permanent basis if you do the job well enough.

You'd be working for a very kind and well-raised mistress, as I'm sure my daughter would appreciate you more than most, whilst also helping someone kind-hearted to learn how to behave in ways that won't risk making a fool of herself among the upper class.

Should you wish to take this job, please contact me in Caelia barony for details. Seeing as to the secretive nature of this request and the peculiar circumstances, the pay will be triple the normal rate.

Hoping for a positive reply,

Rosalia

Do you recall how you were summoned during one of my lessons? You were showing up like an adorable miniature version of those cool Mecha's we make for Rotia. Then you just asked me to make a map and I took sooo much effort drawing you one?

You know, drawing a map from memory is hard and tiring work! Just like dealing with unexpected summons during a class. Teaching is already tiring, so unexpected teaching is even more unexpectedly tiring, you know! Yet you looked adorable and interesting, so I dealt with it!

HOWEVER!!! You promised me you'd let me probe and study you, in exchange for teaching some magic. Yet you never showed up again! How rude! I was actually interested, you know, no matter how tiring it might be. I think you should live up to your promise.

Hoping you'll return to deliver upon it,

Dear mister Atreus Astolgia,

Although your colleague, miss Pip, has already addressed me, I wished to sent a message to you personally as well.

After all, I do recall the enthusiasm with which you detailed your inventions. The wind-powered messenger Clockwork Raven in particular. How as progress been on that one?

Your Omintool design has also stuck in mind. With Amanda having left the barony, I do sort-off miss someone with such high level utility focussed equipment. My own enchantments are for more focussed on combat and survival.

You said you would become the greatest of artisans, did you not? Have you made any breakthrough works yet to hone your master-craft with?

As always, the water availability remains one of the most limiting factors in my barony. However, should you ever have the time and desire for it, there is one secret project I wish to work on. It would, if ever executed become big enough to be considered a continent-changing event.

You know of the Sky Islands, right? I wish to research the ability to manually, be it through magic or tinkering or both, create such Sky Islands from the land itself.

With war and monsters edging closer to our borders, the ability to elevate our most crucial infrastructure beyond enemy reach would be life-saving to many of my beloved subjects.

Needlessly to say, such a plan would be a long-term and highly complex one, yet surely, for someone claiming to become the greatest of all artisans, it would be feasible, with some backing from your friends and my own input, be it on enchantments, finances or connections.

Hoping to hear from you,

Baroness Caelia

P.S. I do believe you have yet to come eat a burger from chef Todo, after having forgot to eat the one you ordered. If you return here, the next one will be my treat.

Dear Aedrianna,

A few days ago, I saw someone walking by with oddly coloured hair and was immediately reminded of our short meeting during the fair.

It's regretful that we couldn't discuss more and in a more calm and private setting, as it seemed you had many fun and useful products to sell and promote. Some of which, I'll admit, are to my personal interest rather than just that of the barony as a whole.

Seeing how it's been a while, I'd like to remind you that the offer to come visit still remains. Despite some trouble caused by your companions, you yourself made a positive impression and I'd love to welcome you back to continue our discussion.

In an of itself, the barony is always open to those wishing to sell something new. One of the thing I pride my domain on is its willingness to embrace new things with open arms, be it food, fashion, or other. I'm sure you'd not just have my own patronage.

Either way, I hope you have been doing well and would hope to welcome you back soon.

Dear miss Soreiel,

Whilst it may not be much, there has been something that I periodically remember and wonder about. During the fair, one of my guards informed me that you seemed to have been trying to break into the keep, looking for my room.

I didn't want to think too much of it, especially not with how busy I was at the time, but I did keep wondering. Why? Truthfully, finding someone as lovely as yourself in my room would be a pleasant surprise, yet I must admit I'd be more worried about any ulterior motives.

If you wished to seduce me into aiding you, then you could've just come to me about your situation and talk things through without the need for such tactics. Whilst I do believe that you, as a beast, particularly such a well-endowed one, might be able to sense my inclinations towards your tails, I am able to suppress them and view others as people first and foremost.

My desires are not something I wish my actions to be guided by, even though I will not deny them. Though I do ask you do not spread even more talk about it, for I do not wish this particular inclination of mine to hamper my official duties. I'd ask you for your understanding.

Should you wish to meet again, please make an appointment. If you show up unannounced and try to get into my room again, I will take it as advances without ulterior motives and can't guarantee for you to leave before being [Thoroughly Petted].

Dear Kota,

Or would Honourable Champion of Holy Water be more appropriate?

Either way, I wish to congratulate you on your newfound title. Perhaps you do not know, but I have once aided the See in its times of trouble and I am considered a [See Inquisitor]. Needlessly to say, I do not brandish the title openly or publicly, as I need to show more neutrality for the sake of my barony.

That said, I am glad to see someone I have come to respect and who's presence I'd love to welcome back join the same side as mine in these troubling times. A champion of Holy Water, even? Truly, a feat most worthy of praise.

Although I cannot offer you a public celebration, as I do not wish for my barony to be considered celebrating the See's heroes, I would at least personally wish to congratulate you. Should you visit again, drinks are on me.

Furthermore, with the Hive Nation continuing to worry me, I truly hope you'd consider fighting by my side to protect not just my barony, but all of Ryke, all of the See and even the East Empire against it. It is a looming threat most worrying; a worry which only the knowledge that I can count on the aid of powerful allies and friends such as yourself can temper.

Hoping to one day welcome you back in my barony, wishing you luck in your future endeavours an with regards,

Regula

Dear mister Charmel,

Although I did so before, I'd like to once again apologise. You met me during one of the rare moments I lost my cool and delivered justice in a matter far too chaotic and damaging. A truly shameful and unbefitting moment in my history.

Whilst the true darkness of that circus hasn't been believed by many, we can at least rest assured that they will never be able to reform and recover. Seeing how Count Sadek did not demand me to revive the ringleader, I ensured his remains were burned at a high enough temperature, so that not a single resurrectable part of that filth remains. Hopefully such knowledge gives you some closure.

Furthermore, how is your patient doing? I recall you were taking care of one... maybe multiple, of the circus victims? If you need aid, be it healing magic, connections or funding, please do not hesitate to reach out. It's the least I could do.

Finally, whilst I could imagine the Barony holds no dear memories to you after all that occurred, I would still hope to welcome you back one day. I'd hate for those horrible events to be your only memory of my barony.

With regards,

Baroness Caelia

Dear Alister,

It was truly odd for you to show up and start aiding me as if it was natural, but I can safely say that you've managed to make it feel like you've been around as a trusted advisor and aide for a long time.

Although I've been saddened by my former advisor, Amanda Steelhaven, leaving rather sudden and by my other advisor, Retili Loxinofican, being preoccupied elsewhere, the arrival of people like you, whom are willing to help out where they can and step up to fill the empty spots, never fails to reinvigorate me.

Like Teuihua, you're one of the few people who's presence and in your case tail tail has become comfortable to have around. Although your introduction to the barony, with the odd Magical Apple Tree appearing, was probably a peculiar one, I'm glad it hasn't scared you off.

Your willingness to become a Steward is highly appreciated, as my mother in particular insists that I leave more tasks to servants, which I admit is correct. Sometimes I make up for lack of sleep through healing magic, but that likely won't work long-term. You've helped me figure out that much.

Either way, thank you. Your plans to help the orphans are heart-warming and your presence is truly appreciated. Let's make the barony a little better by the day.

With regards,

Regula
