Fandom Edge of the Empire and the Age of Rebellion

Pash was let out with anhuge grin, he had actually helped talk them out of something! He strode confidently after Kristala, the near human who was giving them a tour of the compound. Looking at the compound Pash was not surprised they had loved here so long, the setup was amazing. The tour consisted of several areas, engineering, the labs which were very interesting from Pash's scientific perspective. He offered to help but unfrtunatly his efforts would ultimatly be useless unless they found a new part.

Ardana looked around her with interest, they had mad a life for themselves here out of barely anything. Most of the structures were made out of parts of the ship, salvaged and reused as walls or roofs or doors. It was pretty amazing. She couldn't help but wonder why they chose to stay, would they want to leave if the opportunity arose. She would ask later, but for now they had stopped in the central courtyard, the nexu still prowling in their cage and Ardanas eyes fell to them. They hadn't received any of the cybernetic modifications that the ones had attacked them had, and their small size told Ardana that these were only young. Even so their backs were still as high as her shoulders, and those jaws were still full of razor sharp teeth. She was so transfixed with watching the beasts that she had missed the last few moments of conversation. So when her name was called she snapped back in to focus and looked back at her companions with an apologetic grin.

Ardana had been looking at those Nexu too long, but Kratala had some interesting perspectives. According to their captain, the elderly one who had spoken to them ealier the empire was still looking for them. This seemed off to Pash who quickly explained that the rebels were a much bigger problem than before, the sepratists are all considered to be dead now. They would have no problem and Pash was surpsied the Captain still thought this, but maybe now was the time for the Captain to realise, it was then that Pash noticed Ardana shouting at Yusei about something and came over to investigate.

Her eyes had been fixed on the nexu before their conversation dragged her back. Their newest crew member was running his mouth about god knows what and generally irritating her. She still wasn't ready to have Dovakhins spot on the crew filled. But it was when he started on about slaves and alike that she snapped. Yusei had sad something stupid he could tell from the look on her face, something that sent her in to a rage. She glared daggers at him. Threatening to abandon him here on the planet, find someone new to replace him. She barely saw Pash approaching.

"So how long till i become replacable Ardana?" He said quietly, she had had this talk with Yusei often over the last few days but this was far enough, he was part of the crew and had already saved Pash's life! He would not be replaced ever, and when he saved Ardana's life maybe she would realise that, otherwise what was the npoint of him? bullet magnet? Maybe thats why she cared so mcuh when Pash got shot, the worry she would lose a bullet magnet.

She paled visibly as Pash snapped at her, before anger rose again. How dare he, he knew how she felt about him.

"Oh whatever Pash." She bit back turning away from him. If he wanted to be an ass then let him. She folded her arms grumpily and began to move about the camp. She was wandering alone when someone grasped her arm and she looked up in to pleading eyes.

"Are you going to be taking people away from here? I'll do anything to go with you. The captains loosing it." There was panic in the mans tone and she gave him a soft reassuring smile despite the anger that was still bubbling away inside of her.

"We will see what we can do. Are there many that feel this way. That want to leave?" She asked and received a curt nod. "Ok well I will speak to some more people and then see where we stand."

"Be careful" She was told before he dissapered again.

"So as you can see with these STAPs" Pash recognised these, even fought one before last time he met sepratist sympathisers, he had only just graduated and his squad had been on the edge of a firefight that had given Pash his first kill. Probably not a good thing to notice that moment in time but it was obvious that they would never work unless he cannibalised a fe other critical components from the lab. He looked around the encampment, seeing people at their work, enjoying themselves before joining the others, giving a quick ice glare before askign what was going on.

Ardana had been talking to people, many seemed happy but brainwashed by the fear that they were still being hunted by the empire. They seemed very interested in her tales of the rebellion and a few seemed like they wanted to jump up right then and sign up. She still had no real interest in the rebellion but it was interesting to see how these people, who had no idea what was going on beyond the borders of their encampment reacted. She had just been talking to a group of people who were not interested in leaving at all, claiming to be one of the captains closest friends she wasn't surprised by their reluctance. Thats when The captain joined her.

"Are you enjoying your time here." She was about to respond when the guards called out. Some rodians were aproching.

"Yes we are" Pash explained, diverting the captain's attention

"Well i have been hearing some odd things, you taking people away?"

"Well we would not be taking people sir, maybe escorting those that want it"

"Well that stops now" the captain said, his hand on his blaster, the droids at his side

"Now if youll excuse me i have some more unwelcome visitors" he said, turning to the gate to see the same Rodians Pash had helped to scare off walking through the same way they had.

She hadn't heard Pash move to join them and flinched a little at his voice, not expecting it. But she turned her attention to the new group. She recognised them instantly as the group that had threatened them earlier, their leader glaring in her direction.

"Thats them." The lead rhodian squeaked. "The ones that shot my crew!" The captain looked between the newcomers and the crew.

"Is this true." She nodded, seeing no sense in lying about it.

"Only because they threatened us. They were given the opportunity to leave us to our business but they drew weapons. Unfortunately for them my crew is quicker." She said calmly eyeing the rodian who was being held by one of the guards and looking a little nervous. "We offered the rest of the group the chance to leave unharmed and kept our promise, else he would not be standing before you now." There was a sharpness in the last few words, but the captain seemed to believe her and had the group escorted to the cage that not too long ago the crew of the Randy Gamorrean had been shut in.

They had managed to talk their way out, but they were still shut in under guard, but Ardana insisted on being taken to the Captain and then the guard said she had been taken back to the cages, obviously things had taken turns for the worst. Pash Arlak and Yusei hatched a plan and later that evening they began to take apart their beds, slowly making imrpvised clubs, ready to charge the guard. They waited, swapping stories, turns out Yusei was quite the card player, and they played a hand of Pazaak, Arlak couldnt grasp it but Pash managed to win by luck alone. The growl and howls though changed it all, and they made ready to attack....

Ardana was actually looking for a fight moved in to the captains quarters. She had spoken to enough of his crew to know that many of his men did not agree with him, and given the chance they would love to leave this planet. She was still annoyed at Pash's comment earlier and made more irritated by some of the stories the crew here had been telling her. He motioned for her to enter, he was sat behind a makeshift desk in a chair that had been stripped from the ship. She sat in a similar chair opposite him.

"Captain I would like to request permission to take the crew members that wish to leave with me, move them to a habitable world where they can live a proper life." He instantly walled up and she knew he wouldn't agree to it.

"No way, we need all of the people we have to maintain our life here. Take a few away and we will all die."

"And whats to sop that happening whilst hunting, a few people get killed and what then. You're stuck." There was a little more venom in her tone than usual and he could sense it. "Keeping these people here against their will is no better than slavery. Is that what you are captain? A slaver?"

He moved suddenly, more suddenly than she would have thought the old man capable, and grabbed her, dragging her in to the yard. "Face it, living here has driven you mad and you no longer know what is right for these people." She snarled from where she had fallen to the floor. He was still strong in his old age, and she didn't exactly weigh much so he had managed to throw her to the ground pretty easily.

"Guards!" He called and his calls were instantly answered by two bulky looking humans. "Put her in with the beasts until she decides to realise who is in charge here."

She was lifted towards the Nexu cage and thrown in to the small section that was used as a safety precaution, close enough that the pair of young nexu could reach out and scratch her if she wasn't careful. But she had a better plan. She began to whisper softly to the beasts, coaxing them and speaking softly with them. When confident she put a hand through the bar and rested it on the larger of the two's face. She was confident she could control them. When night had fallen she freed her vibroknife and began to work on the locks, with a few more trials in trust she also began working on the cage to the nexus enclosure. The others must have developed a plan by now but she was certain they would not expect hers. She released the two, and they fell in to step beside her, her hands running along their quilled spines with an almost motherly affection.

"lets do this"

Pash, Arlak and Yusei ran outside, heading to the Armory they bumped into Ardana.....

Who had two ferocious young Nexu, one on either arm

"Now, Now ive seen everything" Pash said, stunned as they ripped the droids apart, the camp beginning to realies what had happened, one Nexu ran off to savage more while the other waited while the others collected their stuff.

"STOP THAT" the captain had time to say two words before his head was blown off

"Every place we go to" Pash said under his breath "Every time"

People panicked and ran, she didn't need to harm those people, they were innocent in all of this. It was the ones who leveled blasters at her that with a flick of her hand one of the nexu would pounce upon. She remained in control of the pair, using her body language and her hands to keep their attention. She had read all about these creatures and knew they could be trained, it was a simple matter of showing them who was dominant. Their striped fur told her they were young, impressionable, and really they would still be looking for a mothering figure. She was filling that roll now and they followed her obediently. Something had startled the smaller of the two and he dashed for the camp exit, tail between its legs. But the second, slightly larger of the two remained at her side. With all of their effects in place and the remaining nexu at her side she turned to address the people.

"Those who wish to come with us may do so. It might not be a pleasent flight but it will get you off of this backwater planet and to somewhere you can start a decent life for yourselves again." Most people began to move to grab their things and the near human appealed for a little more time to collect her research. Ardana nodded, it would be important when they returned to isotech. With the crew back together she watched the chaos of people gathering their possessions, her hand still gently stroking the Nexu's fur. Every time one of the crew drew too near it snarled and it seemed to have a particularly nasty snarl saved just for Pash. She inwardly smiled at that and refused to make eye contact with him, moving towards the gate as a crowd began to gather.

"Nice Nexu...." Damn this thing unnerved him, he just wanted to either kill it or run, he understood its beauty though, it was a magnificant creature. They ran for ths ships, Pash helping the others with the occasional carrying when something was too heavy or to scare off any predators that got too close, it was as they got closer to the ship Pash had an idea. Looking past the Randy Gammorean he spotted the YT2400 Ardana had spotted earlier on the previous day. He was going to take it.

"Ardana, take 6, push off and send us the co-ords for Raxxus Prime, then get out of here, we dont know if anyone has followed us"

Not pausing he ran onto the ship, hacking open the doors and computer at the same time, running through the systems he saw it was in good condition, a nice electronic countermeasures suite and some nice handling. Pash started the engines and lifted off, following the older YT1300

She dipped her head to him although not altogether happy about splitting the group. Arlak lead the near human on to the ship along with a few other villagers who had decided to join them. When everyone was aboard she gave the young Nexu a final loving stroke and shooed it off in to the trees. She hurried through the ship, helping to get people settled and sat down safely, before lifting off. She was finalising her astrogation checks when she saw a problem.

"We're not alone out here." There was another ship blocking their exit. It opened fire on the leading YT1300 and Ardana commanded people over the PA to hold on as she began juking to avoid the fire. "We have hostiles." She informed the other ship as Arlak clambered in to one of the guns and returned fire.

Damnit, Imperial Recon craft, not much bigger than they were, but much better armed, maybe he could.....

Slowly putting the ship into auto pilot Pash then moved his hands to the computers, fingers becoming a blur as he hacked into the craft and lowered its forward sheilds in time for Yusei to hit the craft. Some lucky shots from the pair of gunners quickly disabled the craft, including the ability to jump to hyperspace to follow them. This was enough to Pash, inputting the codes Ardana had given to him

"Go Ardana! GO! we are right behind you!" He shouted over the com, watching them jump before hitting his own button.

The ship was still between them, shots rattling against their shields. She shuddered slightly as one of the shots managed to break through and leave dark marks on the hull and rushed the last few meters before they could make the jump. Pash and the others were still a good distance away from the point that they could jump.

"I'm not leaving you." She said but their insistence and Arlak's firm hand upon her shoulder as he returned to the cockpit, forced her. She jumped. The trandoshan knew how she was feeling and sat down beside her.

"They willll be fine." He hissed putting an arm around her. She lent against him not saying anything.

It was a long flight, she didn't sleep a wink the whole way.

Pash hoped they hadnt jumped into something new that would try and kill them, he knew Raxxus Prime was imperial and he hadnt told the passangers but they shouldnt be spotted hopefully. He hoped Ardana would be okay, but now was a time to be busy, he looked through the ship, finding minor amounts of credits and some medkits. He slowly patched the ship together and was back in the chair in time to fall out of hyperspace, luckily nothing showed up as yet and the Randy Gammorean was right where it should be. He commed Ardana to make sure they were okay before scanning more in system. Suddenly TIE's approached and began to close, laser cannons warming up, it was just one of those jobs.

She prepared everything before they dropped out Arlak in one of the guns. She tried to talk her way past the TIE's but was having no luck, and in seconds they were surrounded. She shot forwards past them towards the planet. She was relieved to see the other ship and hear Pash's voice over the coms, but now she had bigger worried as she dived planetward. She led the starfighters on a merry chase diving in to a canyon. Arlak fired on the small ships causing a landslide that took out one of the ships and suddenly she was juking left down a fork in the canyon.

The ship was a wreck now, Pash almost felt the front of the cockpit come apart as the TIE hammered them with laser fire, this was the last one, Pash had seen Yusei take down two already and hoped Arlak had taken the other one, but now was the time to focus.

*Kaboooooom* the sound of exploding TIE filled the cockpit, shaking under the forcewave in atmosphere. His new ship was barely holding together but they could fly to their destination, he let Ardana know how badly they were shaken up before praying to the force that there were no more fighters hidden about.

Pash's ship had dropped off her sensors and she was a little worried but she had to focus on her flying. She twisted the ship through a narrow gap and jolted up at the last minute before a vile looking waterfall. The last TIE didn't realise her move in time and slammed through the waterfall, the sludge coating his viewport to the point he could not see. The TIE slammed in to the wall of the cavern, the twin ion engines exploding in a shockwave that rocked the ship. She lifted out of the cavern and flew towards where Pash and the second ship would be.

"Everyone ok." She said over the coms to both ships.

"We are good, just finding our spot now" Pash said, seeing 3 openings ahead with a small rodian beckoning. Pash flew into the middle with the Randy Gammorean landing on his right. Trying not to throw his arms around Ardana he limped into the medbay and demanded to go into surgery. The Doctor looked at his wounds and was surpriesed he was even standing, but put him under and began his work.

"Ardana......" was all that was said before Pash returned to his drug induced nightmares

She didn't get a chance to see Pash before he was whisked away by the doctors. She gathered the survivors and made sure they were accommodated. When happy she led the near human female to the leader she did hasty introductions and explained their findings. Kratala agreed to go with him to show what she had managed to bring with her, and Ardana got Arlak to go and help her carry her bags. When the Trandoshan returned she was sat on the edge of the ships ramp, her legs dangling over the side. She seemed lost in thought and visibly jumped when Arlak said her name. She seemed off, not quite herself but he had known her long enough to know it was better not to ask.

"Ssssshall we go and look arrround." He said trying to distract her, and she nodded. She lithely jumped down from the ramp and shut the ship up. Yusei fell in to step with them as they moved towards the run down market and began to view the stalls.

Pash was haunted in his dreams, every time he wasnt good enough, all the way back to his childhood....

"Young Master Tarkin come here!" his mother was calling, she never called him that, Father never let her

"Yes mother" he said putting down his learning cube, today he was again looking at the Jedi and how awesome they were.

His Father was in the lounge, head bowed, looking stressed.

"Tarkin things have come to pass, the Jedi rebelled against the Senate and tried to kill the Chancellor, they are being wiped out, but the war is over!"

The Jedi were gone? Oh dear maybe Dad had come to discuss...

"Look i need you to take this? it will make you forget your little issue"

What issue? He may be faster than anyone else but he was only 8, things would change, Tarkin swallowed anyway, falling into a deep slumber and waking up feeling as if something was gone..
