Divine Rising - OOC

Hey Silver, we really wanted to RP with everyone here, but after much deliberation we haven't been able to come up with historically accurate characters... we were hoping to play our characters as a lesbian couple but 19th century western culture criminalises their relationship likewhoa, and furthermore, if we're being historically accurate, the gender inequalities toward women make them even more unsuited to the time period. >.<;; So I think we'll have to duck out. Sorry. QQ

Woah woah woah.

You can not back out of it that easily! There are always solutions!

Stay a while and let us discuss this. We are eager to be open to negotiations.

Why do your characters have to date? Why can't they be something more like best friends or have a sibling kinda relation? Might be a bit weird to do things like that between y'all, but I'd hate for you two to quit before you've even tried anything out.

It's because we'd never RPed our characters in a developed relationship in any RPs before that we really set out to join a new RP together with this goal in mind. It's my mistake, I didn't realise that it was going to have to be socially historically accurate to the time period, so it turns out it's not a setting we could finally get around to doing that in. Sorry, sorry! qq

Well, at the very least, wait until Silver gets a chance to respond. You never know, she might let this one slide.

Surely there is something we can do to actually make this problem to slide.

Surely we can engineer a solution?

Yosh! We haven't left the hosted project yet just in case Silver didn't mean to implement historical accuracy to that degree. Have yet to hear from her on that. It just seemed to be what the timeline thread was suggesting, since it mentions part of women's rights history.

I'm thinking that if it's a societal problem in this time era, then all we can do is wait for Silver to make the final call. There's no way for us to rewrite that history. There are still several countries out there with death sentences for people who have homosexual relations.

Well then, why don't do what it was usually done back then?

Your characters dress and behave as males but in reality they are girls?

It was quite a popular, but that is only one option!

I mean, were male allowed to have homosexual relations either, though?

Those who were glancing back at the Shakesperian era few hundred years ago discovered that malexmale relationships were greatly valued back then. In fact, it was actual the preferred relationship instead of just having a mistress, it is historically proven.

Why don't we say that there is a movement here which mimics the same? And Mythee's characters may be a part of it?

Now I would totally write how Silver does but I am not, at all, a decent writer. He can elaborate his character really well and me... I don't elaborate well to put it frankly, even when I try it is shit comalred to the original one I had, so I just stop trying to be honest. It has always been a problem with me.

This is the 1800s, though. Different times, Idk. Like I said before, though, this is Silver's call to make. Not ours. If it's a historic problem, then Silver needs to decide if it's okay for it to happen.

Okay, well, if that's the case then I don't know want to tread into waters I'm not supposed to be treading in. I'll let Silver look over your CS and decide if anything needs to be fixed or whatever. I've gotten in trouble in the past for pushing people away from RPs before Silver can have a say in the matter and I don't want to push anything like that again.

Hey, no need to beat yourself up, friend. There's not going to be improvement if you're expecting a poor result.

Oh trust me, when you write essays in schoolfir years and you 'improve' and get the same damn scores over and over, it doesn't help. Also when I rp I don't like adding in filler, I write what is needed and that adds up to like no where near 3 or 4 paragraphs unless I have a lot to write.

what is your take on "filler"?

Filler as in things that aren't necessarily important, like how the weather affects(unless in combat) and like the surrounding area unless it personally affects the character, like passerby aren't important, while an NPC bumping into the character is.

Lots of ideas here! (One of them dressing up as a man couuuld work, but unless you're a chain smoker or on hormones it's unlikely your voice will be dudely enough to fool anyone at that age where the voice should have dropped already... ...ventriloquism? Haha.) That said it is indeed Silver's call to make.

@LoneSniper87 RP is actually a great way to rapidly improve your writing over time, since you get to read your writing and other people's together so much. You'll learn to distinguish between writing styles and identify things about others writing that you like, and things in their writing that yours lacks, and develop your writing in response! Even if you may not like your writing right now, I'm sure that you will be able to come to like it more and more as your experience grows. (As for school grades, it can't be helped if it's one of those rigged systems, haha.)

Filler is the details in a detailed RP that give it more life. You describe everything happening around you to bring a reader into the world your character is experiencing and living in.

Oh dont get me wrong my writing is MUUUUCH better than before roleplaying(and the fire nation attacking) but it never really helps with writing informative, argumentative and discursive essays.

Hai guyz!! been out all day. Didn't even realize we were up and running. Gonna do some research for my cs =)

How's everyone doing?
