Divine Rising - OOC

Oh right, no hoodies. Well that is what you get when you type something up at around 2-3 a.m.


I will clean up the character profile now.


Also, any idea why only - and ONLY - in the OOC chat everything I type is doubled? It is kind of annoying that I need to correct it every time.

There's no rule saying you two can't be a couple. I'm 100% sure there were secret relationships happening all over the place at that time. If anything the needed secrecy would make it more exciting. You do know half the gods in this thing were bi right? I doubt it would bother many of the characters in play.

It's more that they're both women and at that time women have a certain place in society that has no appeal to us as something to rp, so we'd have to jump through loops to miraculously dodge that societal position in our character bios, which... is definitely difficult to figure out in our respective manners. +We want to rp characters in an established couple relationship not a secret one; you're right that it adds tension and drama so some people mght find it more fun, but in short, we weren't looking to join a historically accurate 19th century western world rp and made a mistake joining without knowing that's what it would be. >.< 


But I still think it's a cool setting and premise and I hope everyone has loads of fun! This is a really active group, I'm sure it'll go splendidly. 8'D Sorry about the derp assumption that it wouldn't be historically accurate qwq

I think you might be putting more weight onto this accuracy thing than I am, as I said before you'd mostly be in the company of deities who historically could not care less about gender or anything related to it, but if you really think you won't enjoy the thread without the relationship being how you envision then I'll be really sorry to see you go.

but I should let you know that your character will be considered highly eccentric by the inhabitants of England at this time, though if he's impressed a noble hunting club I'm sure they'll have accepted his eccentricities once he proved his skill on the hunt.
 
My character will be posted tonight! I just finished taking my physics exam and I was on the verge of tears after that exam. I have mixed feelings with this professor.

Yeah that's one of the things I wanted to edit the most. I felt like I ran through that part without giving much detail on the tension between him being Egyptian and living in England.
 
Hey everybody. I wanted to let everyone know that I will be relinquishing my claim on the Thor character. I have alot going on in life right now and am running my own game at the moment, so I don't feel I can adiquitly devoted myself to the level that the Rp deserves. I'll still pop in from time to time to say hi, and of course I will always be on Discord for chatting ^^

I will be putting the first post up tomorrow. For those of you who haven't yet, please try and finish your character sheets by the end of the weekend!
 
Hey, guys, I'm going to have to drop out of this RP as well. With school getting underway and parental pressure on acing my classes on top of all sorts of other RL issues I've been dealing with lately, I think being in too many RPs at once is going to only overwhelm me. I'll hide/delete my CS and would like to announce that Poseidon is up for grabs now.

Will we have any gods left? I mean it would be quite a hilarious irony to have a character who despises and does not believe in gods to actually be a god but still, how are we faring atm?

That's only one of the reasons. Also, we burnt ourselves out yesterday spending a couple hours trying to figure out how to jump hurdles to adapt our characters to that era. A sheer coincidence that our ideas were so ill-suited to the setting, but it doesn't mean we'll never get to all RP together. ouo

Still pretty well. I've also done a bit of head hunting to bring in some new people, we'll see how it works out. If there are people who would really rather play a god I will say go for it, otherwise, we're starting to get the ratio I envisioned, so I won't complain if we only get more human characters.
