Fantasy Crossing the line 1x1 with Hazbin_Transformers

Kain followed the two quietly, he had taken his hand away from Astrid when they’d crossed and all he wanted was to hold it again. He drew on the courage of his clan as they entered his private office. He could tell Astrid was being submissive and he wanted to comfort her but needed to get this out of the way first. “Alpha Ryan, if I may speak sir?” He asked, eyes down but his demeanor had just enough confidence to not be challenging but respectful.

Ryan watched him seeming to have settled at Astrid’s request “speak.” He sat at his desk willing to hear the vampire out at least if his top warrior was asking.

Astrid perked up with a soft smile at Ryan when he agreed, he’d been similar to a father figure to her so she got away with a lot more than a regular wolf would. “Thank you…”

Kain looked towards him, but didn’t meet his eyes. “I have taken my father’s place as King and my first decree had been to be more accepting of your pack. I learned about the supposed beginning of our feud and abolished it for my clan. I respectfully offer apologies for my clan for our years of violence and hatred towards your pack. I would like it if we could be nice to each other. My biggest reasoning is how many of your wolves and my vampires have gone mate less due to this? Perhaps we could bring down the border and share territory or have a pack/clan intermingle once a month to help those who might have a mate in the other group” Kain didn’t want to stop until he got it all out because he felt his nerves were on fire and if he stopped, he probably would’ve had a hard time restarting.

Ryan narrowed his eyes with a faint growl “the border stays.” He remained silent for a while though after she spoke just staring at her like he was thinking. His mate had been killed by a vampire the very night he had been graced with meeting her and held a long time anger cause of it. He finally looked at Kain “I will accept a monthly meeting on the first day of the new month. Your kind is not to cross for any other reasoning, if you can handle that we can discuss further terms. We can discuss the outcome of the meeting when the day arrives. I have much to evaluate.”

Astrid looked up at him “Ryan… he’s.. he’s my mate… we aren’t asking you to just throw away your territory but how many others will never find their other half of this continues..”

Kain listened to the Alpha and nodded. “The border stays, my clan will not cross over it. There is a mutual space near the edge of both borders we can use for the meeting as a way of keeping neutral territory. This is a good start.” He accepted the terms from the Alpha. He knew it was asking a lot initially but if they could at least be nice to each other it was a start to building a better future. He looked over at Astrid, before turning towards Ryan. Curiosity hit his features wondering what the Alpha would say. He wanted to ask if he could court and bond with Astrid, bringing her permanently into his castle, but wanted to see how this would play out.

Ryan dipped his head “the pack members who wish to go will be free to meet on the agreed upon date.” He however appeared very bothered by Astrid’s statement the displeasure clear in his voice “I could smell him all over you Astrid I gathered as much when you defended him and arrived together after being missing. I am not dumb.”

Astrid flinched slightly, she clearly took her alpha’s opinion to heart hearing the displeasure in his voice causing her to shrink slightly. While she was closer to him than just a pack member it both made it easier to know he cared but but knowing he didn’t like it

Kain heard the displeasure and noticed Astrid’s response. He involuntarily let out a small growl, stepping beside her protectively. He cleared his throat before he spoke again. “Apologies but I plan to court and bond with your warrior and request that she moves in to my castle so as to make it easier and we are not crossing borders if Astrid would have me do so” He said, first to Ryan and then to Astrid.

Ryan immediately narrowed his eyes at his growl “it is clear she already has been crossing borders.” His voice seemed to hold a level of sadness though “she appears to have already made her decision.”

Astrid just flinched slightly when he growled, she hates hearing the two most important people to hear angry. Ryan’s opinion meant a lot to her but it was clear this news hadn’t been taken lightly.

He nodded towards the Alpha. “We did not want to hide this from anyone but there was little I could do while my parents were in charge. I am trying to mend the past and make our future brighter for all. Is there anything else you feel we need to discuss sir?” He asked. He sensed Astrid’s flinch and rumbled low as an apology for an instinct he still couldn’t control.

Ryan looked at him “you are dismissed we will see if your actions speak the same.” He seemed torn on exactly where he stood on the situation.

Astrid just looked up at him but then back at her alpha, he was a big part of her life and knowing he was upset made it worse

Kain gently took Astrid’s hand. He put his free fist over his heart and bowed. “Thank you Alpha” he said as a sign of respect. He straightened before turning to Astrid. He could sense something was wrong and it was putting him on edge. “We should get your things love” he spoke softly.

Astrid nodded softly but moved to give Ryan a hug mumbling an apology before moving back to Kain’s side and walked out

Ryan seemed to soften but looked disappointed “be careful alright…” he spoke softly

He watched their interaction with a small smile before he headed out of the office with Astrid. He looked around the pack house before down at her. “Where is your room?” He asked.

Astrid walked beside him down the halls “this way.” She walked to the upper floor and a few doors down. She opened the door to her room, it was simple but cutely decorated but by far smaller than Kain’s. She didn’t spend a lot of him here so she didn’t mind that it wasn’t the most impressive

Astrid smiled with a soft nod “ thank you.” She didn’t have a lot to pack but the offer was sweet. They quickly finished up but she just stared at her now mostly empty room “ it’s a strange feeling..”

He nodded as the room was quickly packed away. He could easily handle what little she had on his own. He looked over at her with sympathy, having to leave everything she knew. “You don’t have to move right away” he said gently.

Astrid looked up at him “it will only be harder to drag it out Kain. Ryan will still allow my visits.. it’s some of the others I worry about… a number lost their mates to your kind over the years, they are not quick to forgive that.”

He rubbed the back of his neck. He knew there would be issue, and that not all of this would be fixed right away. You can't just flick a switch and expect everyone to get along after eons of fighting. "I know, and ours have lost mates from your kind. This won't be easy, but in the end maybe there will be second chance mates for them. The universe works in some rather unconventional ways" He said. The beginning of the new month was about two weeks away, and he had to bring all of his unmated vampires into the castle to tell them before that. "I can bring your things back to the castle so you can say good bye to your pack" He added, remembering how she had wanted to shift and be with them earlier.

Astrid looked up at him “maybe… they all do deserve happiness.” She looked around her room with a hum but nodded softly “thank you. I shouldn’t be too long.” Her wolf was excited to have her mate but sad that she was leaving her pack, wolves didn’t do well alone

He could tell that this would be hard on her, wolves were social creatures after all. He picked up her things and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Take all the time you need love. I'll see you back home" He told her. Kain headed out of her room, down onto the ground floor and stepped outside. He breathed in the fresh air before walking away, towards the border. He could feel the wolves eyes on him as he did so but he didn't let it show that it bothered him. Stepping over the border, he continued his way to the castle and made his way up into his their room. He set her things down near the bed and rearranged his less full dresser so that it was completely empty, moving the things into his larger armoire so she'd have the dresser for her things. He thought back to Astrid and how lucky he was, but then fear pricked his soul that perhaps her crossing the border to head here could be an issue still if there was even one vampire in his clan or one that had left. He almost felt like his soul was pulling him to walk back to the border to make sure she was okay. He left his room rather quickly, flying down the stairs and moving towards the front door and into the forest beyond.

A few hours had passed by since Astrid had shifted and been playing with her pack mates, her wolf enjoying every moment of it. A few wanted nothing to do with her but a majority of her mate less friends were excited at the opportunity and couldn’t care less she was mated to a vampire. The sun had finally begun setting and everyone went their separate ways and she walked back towards the border lost in her thoughts.

Kain had been leaning against a pine tree for the last hour. He knew it was foolish in his heart, but his soul wasn't so sure. He knew that there were a handful of vampires out there who wanted nothing more than to kill him and her due to being together and him for killing the old king. He lifted his head, scenting the air and smiled, smelling berries and chocolate. He saw her walking to the border and smirked, noticing she seemed a kind of lost in her head. He slipped around the tree, getting downwind, and snuck over and around her. He crept up behind her before wrapping her in a huge hug, pulling her to his chest. "What's a beautiful wolf like you doing around here" He said playfully.

Astrid could smelled the smoky lavender on the air so she knew he was around even if she was lost in her own thoughts but purred when he wrapped her in a hug. She smirked “meeting a certain handsome gentleman around here somewhere.” She teased playfully

He placed his head on the crook of her neck, a smile on his face. “And where is the handsome man looking to take my mate away?” He asked, rumbling in response to her purr.
