Kain let out a playful growl at the 'slow learner' comment but he smiled as he saw how well the two of them seemed to be getting along. Lily seemed like she was quite happy with everything and she asked if she could go to her room, after she added her own comment of "Yeah, he was but thank you! I like you and can't wait to see you more!" before trotting off to her room. She may be physically 12, but she definitely acted like she'd been around for a while. "Unfortunately love, we should probably head to the border and get the meeting set. Though you are free to return after if you'd like. We do have things to discuss further in private" He said, looking at her.

Astrid smirked at his growl but smiled watching her leave the room “she is the sweetest Kain. I adore her.” A frown immediately formed though as she sighed as his statement “I know.. I was just hoping to be able to enjoy this for a moment… not go deal with my alpha he can be stubborn in his own way.”

Kain smiled, watching Astrid. "She really is a great sister. I'm glad you two get along, though I didn't doubt it for a second." He said, his voice honest. He dismissed Eric and the others. Hearing her words, he didn't have it in him to force it now. She could go back in a little bit. He sighed, nodding his head. "Then come with me my dear" He said. He'd hold out his hand, but she already had it.

Astrid smiled “I don’t know who couldn’t possibly love her.” She however looked up at him when the others were all sent away and followed him her mind lost in her thoughts again. She was desperate just to soak in his attention, even more so with the fact they’d didnt have to hid it from the world than face the world

Kain led the way through the castle, the old stone walls were welcoming as he moved up a set of spiral staircases to come out onto the top floor. On this floor was his room, Lily's room and their parents old room. His room was the size of a small apartment much like the others. He led Astrid to his door, an older wooden one, before pulling it open to show his bedroom. In one corner sat three chairs around a table, with two large windows behind them and a fireplace with a bed just beyond those. On the other side of the room was a couch with a coffee table and a large library inset on the wall. "Welcome to my room" He told her, allowing her inside before he shut his door behind them.

Astrid walked in and looked around in awe “it’s massive Kain.” She gave herself a little tour checking everything out but got distracted by the library for a few moments as some of the books looked interesting. She turned looking back up at him and wrapped her arms around his torso “you did it Kain..”

He watched with a smile as she explored his room. "Mine is actually smaller than my parents was" He commented watching as she got distracted by the library he'd collected over the years. He had already opened his arms as she came over, wrapping her arms around him. He wrapped his arms around her back and set his head in the crook of her neck. Unashamedly, he breathed in deep, allowing a rumble to emit from his throat in contentment. "I had something to win for" He murmured, not wanting to move from where he was.

Astrid just soaked in his attention with a faint rumbly purr as she held onto him, not having have to be careful made the hug that much better. “Can you heal yourself or do you need to see someone?” She didn’t like smelling the blood from the scratches it making her upset he’d gotten hurt for her but equally proud

Kain finally removed his head from her shoulder before realizing that he did need to fix his scratches and the crack in his ribs that he could start to feel now that he'd begun to relax. He pulled away from her and walked over to his couch, he placed a hand on his shoulder and another on his rib cage. Blue light emitted and he could feel the uncomfortable sensation of the bone fixing itself and the cuts healed. He noticed the blood on the side of his shirt and frowned. "I um, I should take a quick wash and change huh?" He said, before hoping he hadn't gotten anything on her.

Astrid watching him still finding his ability to heal incredibly interesting and moved to sit on his bed, tucking her legs underneath herself getting comfy “probably.” She smiled “I’ll be waiting go get clean.”

Kain smiled at her, getting up from the couch and headed into the connected bathroom. He washed up real quick, slipping on his navy robe afterwards and stepping out into his room. He looked over at Astrid sitting on his bed and smiled over at her. He walked to his dresser and grabbed a simple pair of jeans and a blue tee shirt, thanks to his high core temperature, and he walked into the bathroom changing real quick and hanging up the robe. Coming out of the bathroom, he walked over to the bed, sitting beside her before pushing himself to lean comfortably against the headboard, his hand out to inviting her to cuddle.

Astrid perked up seeing him walk out in a robe with a small smirk gathering his clothes before returning to the bathroom. She waited humming softly but smiled when he returned. She shifted climbing up closer to the headboard so she could cuddle. Tucking perfectly into his side she just smiled more, her wolf just howling in happiness in her head

Kain smiled, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and sighed lightly. He felt impossibly relaxed as he leaned his head on hers gently. He actually felt himself trying not to fall asleep. He twisted his head and placed a gentle kiss on the top of Astrid's head. "Will you move in here with me?" He heard himself asking as he readjusted his head to look out over his room before casting a glance down at her. He was nervous that he'd be asking too much of her. Afterall, they still needed to get the werewolves to accept a truce, perhaps even intermix as one. So many vampires and wolves were being kept from this peace that they'd found on accident.

Astrid looked up at him like she had been dreaming those words and had to make sure he’d actually said them. She nodded softly a smile growing “of course Kain… I don’t know that I could handle going back home.” She just tucked herself into his side and rested her head on his chest “how could they keep this from someone.” She just asked the air, it was the best feeling she’d ever had. Just absolute peace

He smiled, hearing her words and feeling over cloud nine. He absentmindedly ran his fingers through her hair as he readjusted himself, leaning his head against the headboard. "I know, which is one of the reasons I want to talk to your Alpha" He said, his dark brown eyes closing as he let out a content sigh/rumble. He knew they had more to do, but all he wanted was to take a nap right there with her in his arms. One arm over her shoulders with his fingers running through her hair and the other rested in his lap.

Astrid closed her eyes when he began running his fingers through her hair it was one of her favorite things. A content purr rumbled in her chest but she was starting to unintentionally doze off beside him as she shifted to snuggle in more. “Thank you Kain..” she mumbled drifting into a light sleep

He kept running his hand through her hair before he heard the purr and smiled, an answering rumble back came from his chest. He heard her words, mumbled before he cracked open an eye to see she had fallen asleep. He smiled, slowly and gently moving them down so instead of sitting, they were laying in the bed. He moved his fingers from her hair, turning himself slightly so his arm was over her shoulders and his other arm was settled on her waist. His head rested on hers and he too slipped into a light sleep.

Astrid mumbled when he began moving them but simply cuddled into his chest more and fell into a deeper sleep. She slowly began to stir the next morning when the sun began shining in the window but groaned not wanting to wake. Startling though when she felt the hand around her waist but purred realizing it was Kain. She reached up cupping his cheek “good morning Kain.” She smiled softly

He could feel Astrid shifting and he blinked his eyes open. He felt a hand on his cheek and looked down, smiling at the woman curled to his side. "Good morning love" He said, pressing a kiss to her forehead. He didn't want to move but according to the sunlight through the opposite window, they'd slept all night. It had been the best nights sleep he'd had in months, wrapped in the berry and chocolate scent of his mate. He rumbled back to her purr before he began running his fingers through her hair once more. She had seemed to like it yesterday. He stretched his long legs a little before letting out a low sigh. "We should get up, we have a long day ahead of us. Besides, I'm sure you'd like to have your clothes here and not sleep in the same outfit over and over" He said.

Astrid just smiled softly looking up at him, being enveloped in his smoky lavender scent all night had been havenly and it was probably the best nights sleep she’d had since meeting him. She couldn’t help but relaxed her head back when he began running his fingers through her hair again. “Do we have to. This is amazing..”

He smiled at her again, his eyes watching her. "As much as I'd rather stay here. We have responsibilities to our clan and we still need to talk to your pack. Then we need to get your stuff if you're going to move in" He stated, before gently moving away from her. He didn't want to but he knew one of them needed to make the first move. He stood from the bed, stretching his muscles out and hearing his back crack. He adjusted his shirt, but wasn't going to change. Her scent was all over it and he wasn't going to get rid of that any time soon.

Astrid whined when he moved away to stand and started grumbling “I know..” She was clearly not much of a morning person but finally stood after him and stretched with a little groan. “Can we at least get breakfast first?”

He looked over at her with a smirk. "Nah, we're fresh out of deer" He chuckled, before holding a hand out to her. "The cooks usually have breakfast ready, but it consists mostly of um, blood but we do have sausages and eggs if that sounds good to you" He added. His stomach rumbled as he thought of food. They ate normal food, but their biggest part of every meal was the large glass of blood that actually filled them up.

Astrid playfully rolled her eyes “darn.” She took his hand as they walked out of his room “it will work perfectly.” It was a little strange to think she was going to be watching a bunch of vampires drinking blood for breakfast yet it didn’t bother her as much as she thought it would.

Kain smiled, leading them down the staircase and onto the main floor. The throne room entrance sat in front of them, but they turned to the hall on the left. Walking down, he took the first left and entered into a beautiful dining hall. It wasn't huge but the table could fit the entire council in it for important meetings, though it was huge when it was just him, Astrid, Lily and Eric. There was a small hall that led into the kitchen where the cook, Julianne, was currently finishing up breakfast before she wheeled a cart out to where they were. He gently led Astrid to the head of the table where he pulled out the chair to left of the head chair, what used to be his fathers chair, and smiled. "My dear" He said, a smile on his face. Kain heard footsteps and looked up to see Lily and Eric shuffling in. Lily's braid was messed up and she was rubbing one eye with a hand. Eric bowed his head to them both before taking the seat to Kain's right. Lily noticed Astrid and bounced over to sit beside her. Julianne had set the platters of eggs and sausages on the table and placed a tall stein at each vampires place, the obvious nature of the drink as the glasses were clear.
