Eric looked down at her “I hope so otherwise I don’t know what to do for them.. if anything Astrid might just kill him..” He looked down at her “so what do you think about being acting Queen?” He teased lightly thankfully to finally have some time with her alone

Astrid just walked silently but was beginning to slow down growing tired. The silver was still working its way out and she was exhausted by the time they got there. She looked at him finally then the cabin “it’s adorable..”

He stayed beside her, and matched her pace the entire way there. He refused to walk faster, she was his equal not his follower. He'd do well to remember that. "It was supposed to be a surprise further down the road" He admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. He stepped up and opened the door for her. The vampire was determined to fix what he'd broken
-
Jay looked up at Eric with a smirk. "I think if they fought it would be an even match, but I think this is going to be good for both of them" She said before rolling her eyes at him. "If you think I'm gonna start bowing to you, my acting King, you got another thing coming" She teased right back.

Astrid walked inside quietly looking around but was clearly exhausted “I’ll take the tour tomorrow. I just want to go to bed. Good night Kain.” She didn’t even wait for his response walking into the open bedroom with her bag.

Eric grinned playfully “if anything I should bow to my queen. Now the clan traditionally runs itself with little effort so we shouldn’t have much to handle.

Kain watched as she disappeared into the bedroom. He went into the opposite one and set his stuff beside the bed. "Goodnight love" He whispered, before throwing himself on the bed with a sigh. This was going to take longer than he thought. The little bit of sleep he'd gotten over the day hit him. He could smell her scent in the other room and it was just enough to lull him to sleep.
-
Jay smiled "Exactly" She smirked and nodded to the rest of his sentence. "So what do you want to do now?" She asked, before a yawn escaped her. "I could go for a nap after dealing with those two children." She laughed.

Astrid just curled up in the covers but the idea of being completely alone terrified her. She had never had this level of silence in her head before always having her wolf right there and that was a whole another level of scary. She ended up digging through the bag and found Kain’s hoodie hugging onto it as she drifted off.

Eric smiled softly “well let’s go take the male then.” He lead her down the hall with a content hum

Jay smiled, following him happily. She was still concerned about her friends, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do for them. She couldn't fix her friends bond but she could take care of the clan for them with Eric by her side.
-
Kain twisted and turned in his bed. He couldn't get back to sleep and he sighed, getting up and walking into the main area. He sat on the couch and ran his fingers through his hair. He wasn't used to sleeping alone, one reason why he just kept watching her, he didn't like the feeling of an empty bed, with just him in it.

Astrid was asleep but whimpering as she tossed and turned fit giving up and just lay there curled up

Eric looked down at her “we have some extra rooms if you would prefer to rest…” He shifted awkwardly wa tong nothing more than to pull her into his chest and drift off but was worried he’d scare her off.

Jay smiled up at him. "I don't think I could rest alone right now. Wherever you want to rest, I-I'd like to as well" She blushed, looking at her feet embarrassingly. She had accepted that they were mates, short of him pulling what Kain had done, nothing would scare her away.
-
Kain could hear the whimpering through the wall and let out a response whine. He heard his stomach growl and sighed, he only had maybe two months of blood bags in the fridge here, so he'd eventually have to find the blood out in the wild. He got up from the couch and walked to the kitchenette and grabbed a stein. He grabbed a blood bag and drained it into the stein. "I remembered to eat when I was hungry" He muttered as he took a drink.

Eric genuinely couldn’t hold back the excited grin on his face as he walked her towards his room. He opened the door “after you.” He smiled. It wasn’t nearly as large as Kain’s but it was still a large nicely decorated room.

Astrid was struggling mentally this morning just sobbing quietly clutching onto his hoodie. Unfortunately she’d been holding onto it long enough his scent was starting to fade some which only worsened things. She was touch starved and desperate for Kain growing angry suddenly like it was his fault

Jay felt herself smile back as she picked up on the excitement. "Why thank you" She smiled, walking into his room. "Eric, its beautiful" She said, looking around the space. Jay wanted to look at everything, but she felt a yawn escape her mouth a moment later.
-
Kain finished his stein and washed it out in the sink before setting in the dish dryer. He headed to the fridge and made a quick plate of a couple different breakfast sandwiches and walked over to the room that Astrid had claimed. He knocked on the door gently "Astrid love?" He asked through the wood, knowing she was awake and he got a very faint sense she was upset. If he had a wolf, its ears would be flat against his skull in an upset manner, but his soul was pretty good at emulating a similar feeling for him.

Eric’s grin only grew bigger, really looking like a little kid showing someone their favorite toys. He smiled “thanks! I decorated it all myself.” sounded so proud of himself but noticed her yawn “I can give you the tour after a nap..?” It was literally just a large bedroom and bathroom but he was clearly excited about it.

Astrid just mumbled “what..” knowing he would open the door

She laughed at how excited he was. Her wolf was wagging her tail in her head and was absolutely smitten with Eric. "That sounds good," She led him over to the bed, her eyes were already drooping. Her body felt ready to just drop where she stood.
-
He opened the door gently, looking at her for a moment before stepping in. "Um, I made you some breakfast" He set the plate on the night stand beside the bed. "I'd ask how you are, but I can still tell you're pretty angry at me" He added. He wanted to hug her, to kiss her and lay down with her in his arms. He tried to send it through the little bit of connection they had but it felt like sending something through a wall. He noticed the tear tracks and the hoodie, it was probably losing its scent. "Can I borrow the hoodie?" He asked gently. For a moment, he considered laying on the other side of the bed, rolling on it and giving it back, but he'd probably settle with wearing it for the day and then giving it back covered in his scent again.

Eric pulled back the blankets for her and waited until she’d gotten comfortable. He climbed in but lay on the edge of the bed not wanting to invite himself, sure they had snuggled on the couch some but this wasn’t the same.

Astrid looked at the plate having no appetite in her stomach growled. She just took a piece and nibbled on it, without her wolf she was just eating for a small built 5’4 girl so she didn’t need much. She seemed unhappy at the idea of giving up the hoodie but finally set it on the end of the bed. She’d clearly been crying long enough she’d run out of tears but even without the bond it wasn’t hard to see random anger bubbling up

Jay looked at Eric after she was comfortable and reached a hand out, snagging his and pulled. "Come on" She said softly. She wanted his scent wrapped around her, her nerves had been on edge during this issue with Kain and Astrid that she needed to relax.
-
He nodded as she ate the sandwiches, his gaze soft as he gently took the hoodie. Kain could see the anger bubbling up and he saw the tear tracks on her cheeks. He was glad she ate something. He looked at the hoodie in his hands before looking up at her. He put it in his arms, as close to his chest as he could get it. "Do you want anything else?" His voice was soft, tentative. He didn't want to fight anymore, he just wanted to fix this and it was gnawing at him that it wouldn't be easy.

Eric was clearly a pleaser and was going to require her approval for everything right now. He carefully and almost timidly wrapped his arm around her torso and pulled her into his chest with a soft smile.

Astrid already knew the answer to her wants so she just shook her head with a small sniffle. “No..” her emotions were clearly in overdrive and without her wolf she wasn’t processing things easily

Jay let out a purr as he pulled her into his chest. She snuggled into him, her eyes closing slowly.
-
Kain felt his soul ache as he heard the sniffle. He wanted to kiss those tears away so badly, it hurt. "Would you like to join me for a walk outside? It may help your wolf come back" He asked. Maybe going on a walk would help relax them both. Maybe.

Eric just held her tightly smiling softly to himself as he contently started to drift off too.

Astrid looked up at him knowing she needed to get out, not having left the bed in days pretty much “okay..” she finally uncurled from the blankets and grabbed some clothes

Kain smiled, happy she decided to join him. He waited for her out in the living room so she could get dressed. He felt excitement in his soul, maybe this was a great first step for them to rebuild the bond. Memories of their first few secret meetings and the walks along the border flashed through his head.

Kain smiled at her, she was looking more like her old self. "Hello beautiful" He said, his fingers twitched wanting to take her hand. Kain led the way down a small trail headed deeper into the forest before it swung back around to the cabin. He had slipped on the hoodie that she'd given him back and was enjoying her scent. "Remember the first run we took together? I don't think I'd fallen that much in my life before" He said, trying to lighten the mood with the funnier memories of them. He rubbed his hands together nervously.

Kain shrugged his shoulders with a laugh. “I mean, I may have tripped over it again when I was out with Eric a few weeks ago” He said, a sheepish smile on his face. He went to take her hand instinctively but stopped and brought it back to his side. “Yeah, I’m clumsier than I like to admit” He said as he rubbed his neck. It almost felt like things were back to normal.

Astrid couldn’t help but laugh “you may need to remove that root then Kain. For your own safety.” She teased seeming to be enjoying the walk so far but without her wolf was clearly going to tire quicker

He laughed, a grin on his face. “If it keeps you entertained I’ll trip on it more” He said playfully. On a serious note, he looked over at her. “Whenever you want to go back we can. Don’t wear yourself out love” He said, voice soft.

Astrid looked up at him “I’m alright.. just a little tired I don’t think I’ll make it the full way today..” she walked beside him just taking in her surroundings
