Eric nodded softly clearly going to be a overly worried mate who had to make sure everything was okay

Astrid smirked playfully "Not unhappy dear just appreciate a woman's touch. And another wolf at that.." She looked up at Kain curious what he wanted Ja in his office for though

Jay laughed at her friend's comment. "I'd like to talk to all of you if that's possible" She said, looking at her old friend, her new friend and her mate. She needed them to know that there were vampires mixed in this too.

Kain sent a pout over to his mate before looking at Jay. He nodded, standing from his seat and stretching. "Follow me" He said, holding a hand to Astrid. His father's office was on the third floor, on the other side of the hall from their room. He rarely went in there before and he really hadn't used it since. The desk faced two fancy chairs, but further in were two couches sat opposite each other with a coffee table in between them.​

Astrid took his hand and followed beside him up to his father's office, she hadn't seen this room yet. She walked in and sat down on one of the couches waiting for Jay and Eric.

Eric offered Jay his hand before walking after Eric and sat on the opposite couch waiting for Jay to be ready

Jay smiled, taking his hand and following him up and into the office. It was a beautiful space. She sat down beside Eric, allowing their legs to touch. "I met the entire attack group this morning. Besides Luca, there are two other pack members Isaac and Julius. Kain, there are two vampires in this as well um Kira and Oliver and there were eight rogues as well." She explained, her eyes cast down on her lap. "And there is something else."

Kain looked at Jay as he sat beside Astrid. "I should've known those two would try something like this. They'd always been loyal to my father." He said, his eyes flashed red before returning to their normal color. He looked up when Jay spoke again, his head tilted in curiosity. "What?"​

Astrid rubbed his leg to calm him down but frowned looking at Jay "what...?" She was trying to remember who Isaac and Julius were in the pack which was frustrating her as she couldn't put a name to the face.

Eric pulled her closer, holding her to his chest concerned. He grumbled "those two were the absolute worst." He paused though at her something else

Jay chewed her lip as she settled on Eric's chest when he'd pulled her closer. "I-I think Luca started this just so he could be my second mate, even without a mate bond" She said, before turning her head into Eric's chest with a small whine.

Kain felt himself settle as Astrid rubbed his leg. He heard that and couldn't help the light growl coming from his mouth. How dare that wolf try and tear apart two people destined to be together for his own plan. He didn't take kindly to those coming and messing with his clan and his friends. "We won't let that happen." He said. "We'll need to have a plan to get all of them at once." Kain said.​

Eric just tightened his grip unintentionally “no one is taking you anywhere love..” He internally was panicking while filled with rage having to bury his head into her neck to calm down.

Astrid narrowed her eyes “Luca has always been terrible about trying to take what he wants no matter the consequences. He will not be getting a hand on you Jay we promise that.”

Jay moved her head enough so that he could bury his head there. Their bond might not have been solidified but she could feel the rage in him. She felt him tighten his grip but she purred instead, trying to relax and comfort him. She felt herself tear up again, she'd never had friends that would do whatever it took to help her.

Kain's eyes were narrowed and he felt angry. He turned his head to Astrid, his eyes were red. He knew what Eric was feeling because he would feel the same if someone tried to take Astrid from him. He pulled her into his side gently, laying his head on hers and letting the berry and chocolate scent flow into his lungs. "No one will take you from your mate. Not if we have anything to say about it" He said in between breaths.​

Astrid looked up at Kain leaning up and kissing him deeply “I’m right here Kain..” she whispered. She looked at Eric hoping Jay could calm him having enough of her work cut out for her handling Kain. Looking at Jay “I’m concerned about you going back… you know how obsessive Luca can get..”

Kain kissed her back, a rumble in his throat. "Yes, mine" He said lowly before his eyes returned to normal. He looked over at the pair, hearing Astrid's words. "She is right, you would be safer here Jay. You are free to stay with Eric" He said, content now to just hold Astrid in his arms.

Jay heard their words even though in the grip she was in, responding was harder. "E-Eric, I can't breathe love" She said into his chest. Which was also true, when he'd tightened his grip and went for her neck to calm down, her lung capacity had diminished a bit.​

Eric startled when the coaster bumped him but immediately loosened his grip “sorry love…” He awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck but held her

Astrid threw one of the soft coasters at Eric nailing him in the head. “Sorry he can be a little selective in the heading department.” She laughed

Jay couldn't help the giggle that came out when Eric loosened his grip after being hit in the head with the coaster. "Its okay" She said, pressing a small kiss to his cheek. She maneuvered herself so that she was tucked into his side comfortably. "Astrid, can you help me get my things? Just in case Luca tries something else." Jay didn't have much she wanted, aside from Eric's hoodie and her clothes. She did want her mother's bracelet that she'd given her before she passed.

Kain huffed out a laugh before looking at his mate. "You shouldn't throw things love, they might come back to get you" He said with a grin. The atmosphere had relaxed a little bit but there was still some tension. "We should go with you two" He said, something not feeling quite right in his soul, but he wasn't sure.​

Astrid laughed “well I didn’t feel like getting up and my girl needed some help.”she frowned though “Kain if it’s just the two of us grabbing a hoodie and a few things it will be a lot less suspicious than two vampires following along.. “

Eric frowned “I really don’t like the idea of you going back with Luca there though..”

Jay looked up at Eric. "You forget who you're mated to, I was the pack's top warrior and Astrid was right behind me. We can handle it." She said, looking at him. She knew it was probably really scary for him, especially when she gave him a near heart attack coming in early soaked in his scent. She'd have to reaffirm their mate bond often, but that was fine with her. Her wolf purred in agreement.

Kain sighed, knowing she was right but hating that at the same time. "I know, I just don't like you out there with him." He said, his eyes narrowed obviously upset. He didn't trust this Luca as far as he could throw him. "I also know that unfortunately I can't stop you, so you have to promise me to be careful." He said, kissing the top of her head. ​

Astrid playfully gasped “ excuse me when was I the 2nd best!?” She purred softly her attention returning to Kain “I’ve dealt with Luca before Kain I’ll be okay.”

Eric just held her with a soft chuckle “o know but I just got you here I don’t want to lose you..”

Jay sent a smirk over at Astrid. "Since I said so" She said, sticking her tongue out playfully. She looked back at Eric with a gentle smile. She leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "I'm not going anywhere. I'll be a pain in your butt for our entire lives" She said with a small hum. "We should get going though, the faster we go, the faster we get back." Jay said, looking at Astrid.

Kain still didn't like it one bit. He'd only had Astrid for two months, three at the most? He wasn't ready to let her go, to possibly lose her. "You better go before I chain you to my side love" He said, smirking playfully.​

Eric purred with a content smile but finally let her go even if he hated the idea

Astrid nodded giving Kain a quick kiss “if it makes you feel better you’re welcome to come to the border if you stay out of sight. “

Jay smiled at Eric, moving away from him albeit reluctantly, and looked over at Astrid. She had heard Kain's words and rolled her eyes. These two were just as bad as wolves. There was that species gap, they got just as protective as wolves would. Jay headed to the door, before sending another smile to Eric. Why did she feel a pit in her stomach like something was going to happen. Shaking her head, she looked at Astrid. "You ready to go?" She asked.

Kain shook his head. "As much as I would love to do that, I would probably be even less likely to let you leave my sight" He admitted. His soul purred at the kiss she'd given him and smiled at her. ​

Astrid nodded and walked over to her heading outside “they don’t lose the clingy behavior. If anything Kain’s gotten worse.” She laughed walking towards the border. She kept her attention on their surroundings thought not wanting to be caught off guard

Jay looked over at Astrid with a laugh. “Great. Typical males” Jay said with a grin. She kept an eye out as they made it to the border. She felt a feeling of dread run over her body. They’d made it about ten feet over the border when they were circled by rogues. Jaylin snarled, getting ready to shift when large arms wrapped around her. Something clicked around her neck and suddenly she felt her strength sap and her wolf was deadly quiet. “Can’t have you running away there love” His voice was near her ear. Luca. She didn’t see Julius do the same to Astrid, she was too busy trying to keep herself from freaking out.​

Astrid just laughed “try being mated to the king. Dude is clingy and then some.” She was able to see the shadow move towards Jay and shifted just in time to leap out of the way of Julius only to be circled by the rouges.

She snarled managing to defend herself clearly not rusty even though she’d been away from the pack for months. She tackled one sending them both rolling and sank her k9s in shaking as she heard the snap of a broken leg. She spun handling the others until two of the rouges sank their claws into her leg and Julius was able to stab her in the shoulder briefly. She nearly immediately shifted back screaming in pain before he pinned her and snapped a collar in place. Silver was painful in human form but to be stabbed while in wolf form every single muscle in her body cried for relief

Jay screamed as she saw Astrid fall. She tried to wriggle free from Luca’s grasp before he whispered an apology, before knocking her out and holding her in his arms bridal style. “Knock her out too, they can’t see where we’re taking them” Luca ordered before looking down at the prize in his arms. “No one will ever take you from me” He whispered, kissing her forehead.

Kain had been talking with Eric when pain seared through his shoulder. At the same time, he felt the connection to Astrid dim. He let out a roar of confused anger and pain, shooting to his feet. His eyes went red and stayed there while he headed towards the door. He stopped and looked back at Eric, able to form two words. “Mate. Hurt.” ​

Astrid was still struggling to fight managing to punch Julius square in the face but the silver had her slow and sluggish so it was a weak one at that. She struggled in his grip until he knocked her out and she went limp, not shown the same care as Jay was.

Eric immediately panicked bolting after him if Astrid was hurt then so was Jay most likely.

Luca had taken special care to cover their scent trail. He smirked, let their mates try, they won’t find them. The group made their way to the far border, crossed it and went a mile further to a small cabin. He opened the door and gestured for the ones moving Astrid to bring her to the basement. He followed behind and they were tossed into separate cells.

Kain had raced out of the castle, following their scent just inside the border before it vanished along with some rogues. He saw blood on the ground and snarled. He didn’t know what to do and it drove him insane. He was angry, upset, worried and concerned. He had no scent trail to follow, no clue as to where Luca would take them. He could smell Eric behind him and he felt a growl build in his chest at another male, even though his brain knew he was Eric, the bond was weak and his soul was going stir crazy and it was effecting the man.​

Astrid groggily began to wake up but groaned in pain, having a severe headache before snapping awake when she realized she was surrounded by Julius and Luca scent not Kain’s. She slowly began taking in her surroundings, snarling “Luca what the hell!!?” She was living but was genuinely a little scared by the fact her wolf was silent as she timidly reached to touch the collar around her neck.


Eric skidded to a stop “whoa man it’s me.. it’s Eric..” He was panicked as well but didn’t have their bond completely formed
