Astrid just smirked “I mean you are the one that nearly got me run over by the both of you so it may be deserved.” She teasingly leaned up and kissed his cheek playfully

He huffed lightly before he smiled. “No respect for the king, not even by his queen.” He teased back before wrapping his arms around her in a hug. “I couldn’t help it. I missed you” He said, kissing her forehead. “I didn’t think about Eric for a moment” He laughed.​

Astrid smirked “Kain I was gone for like 2 hours. You can not be missing me that soon. She however returned the hug but pulled away not wanting to rub it into Wric.

He looked at her as she stepped away, knowing why she did so. "You underestimate my love sometimes. I've waited two hundred years for you love" He said, his voice serious but his playful smile spoke otherwise. "Ok, I don't know about you two, but I need something to eat" He said, having expending a fair about of calories during their run.​

Astrid smirked playfully “oh I don’t underestimate it I’m just thankful you aren’t more clingy.” She looked back at Eric “want to get some lunch?”

Eric nodded and started after them heading to the dinning hall

Kain smiled at her. "If I ever get too clingy, I have you to remind me love" He said, holding out his hand for hers as they started for the hall. "And see, I remembered lunch this time" He said, teasingly.​

She just laughed “I see you did probably because you’re hungry.” She just smirked walking inside and sat down in her chair with a hum. It was nice having the threee of them together but she was worried about Jay

Kain smiled, sitting down at his own chair and Julianne stepped out with sandwiches that had various meats in them. She set two steins for Eric and Kain and then looked over at Astrid. "What would you like to drink my queen?" She asked. Kain sighed, looking over at Eric. His soul was hurting for his best friend knowing that once again there was an obstacle to overcome before they could be together.

Jay had finally crept out of her room, hoodie left on the bed, and went out into the woods. Shifting, she padded through the forest in search of prey before locating a large deer. She stalked it, one paw in front of the other, and in no time at all, she'd made her way back to the pack house with it.​

Astrid hummed in thought before smiling softly “oh do you have any lemonade?” She started grabbing herself a plate

Eric just made himself a plate nibbling on the sandwich clearly lost to his thoughts

Julianne nodded, going into the kitchen and bringing back a pitcher of lemonade and a stein. "Here you go" She said with a smile. Kain looked over at Julianne. "I didn't see you at the meeting yesterday Julianne, did you not make it?" He asked. Julianne averted her eyes. "I did not make it. I'll go to the next one, I apologize. The new orders had come in and I lost time getting things sorted in the kitchen," She explained. "I understand. I do hope I'll see you at the next one." He looked over at Eric and let a small sigh. He knew there was nothing he could do at the moment aside from be there for him.​

Astrid smiled “oh Julianne if an order comes in again please let me know I’d be happy to help so you can make it!”

Julianne smiled over at Astrid. "I will, thank you" She had wanted to make it to the meeting but it hadn't panned out. Kain smiled over at his mate, always selfless. He finished the sandwich on the plate and drank the last of the blood in the stein. "We want you to be happy Julianne. If I had known the order had come in, I would've aided as well." He said. He didn't want any of his clan to be unhappy. Several had been over the years being denied the joy of a mate. That would not be his legacy.​

Astrid looked up at her tucking her legs Cris crossed “Julianne I do not really know much about you past the fact you are an amazing cook. Forgive me if you do not wish to answer but would you want a wolf as a mate?” She asked curiously

Julianne flushed as Kain gestured for her to sit down with them. "I would be quite happy to receive a mate, species wouldn't matter to me. I appreciate the compliment as well, my mother was a cook here in the castle and taught me everything I know." Julianne said, her hands twined together. Kain remembered her mother Cora, she was a spunky as Julianne is which must be where she got it from.​

Astrid smiled softly “she was an amazing teacher then. Well hopefully you can find your mate this next meeting! They would die to have a cook like you.” She teased playfully

Julianne smiled over at Astrid. "Well thank you. I hope so too honestly, but I hope they realize I'm not leaving this place to go there. This castle is the only home I've ever known." She said. She may be sweet but she was stubborn and set her own ways. Kain laughed listening to her, but knowing how true that was. "I don't think I could let you go, you were more a mother than my own" He said. It was true, between Julianne and his nanny Jade, he had basically be raised by them instead. Kain stretched in the chair, his eyes half open as he listened. This was another reason he'd stopped eating lunches he remembered, they tended to lull him into taking a midafternoon nap. He blinked his eyes open as he listened to the conversation.​

Astrid eyed Kain looking ready to doze off with a smirk “and I just got the most amazing cook I’m not losing you. And you keep this child in line.”

Kain's eyes widened at the smirk on Astrid's face and he, rather childishly, stuck his tongue out. "I am not a child" He huffed with a pout on his face but a teasing tone of voice. "You two are definitely perfect for each other." Julianne added, before getting to her feet. "I do have some things to finish in the kitchen, you might want to take the child King up for his naptime" She said as Kain looked over at her, eyes wide but a smile on his face. "Yep, let's continue pick on the King day" He muttered, although not really upset.​

Astrid blushed looking up at Juliann but smirked playfully “well come on Kain time for the mid day nap.” She teased. “ I mean you don’t have to come now, but you’ll lose out on a good cuddle…” she grinned knowing he’d come

Kain grumbled lightly before getting to his feet. "I think that's a good exchange" He said with a smirk before getting up from his chair and stretching. He held out his hand for Astrid so they could head up to their room. He wouldn't lie, he was looking forward to a good cuddle and nap. These last two days have been a little crazier that he thought they'd be.​

Astrid smirked taking his hand and headed up to their room. She vanished into the bathroom getting changed into comfy clothes before jumping into bed. She snuggled into the blankets waiting on him

Kain followed Astrid up to their room. He waited for her to change first and then he followed suit, getting into a tank and sweats. He made his way over to the bed and pulled the blankets up before getting underneath them. He laid on his side, one arm under his head and the other wrapped itself around Astrid to bring her to his side gently.​

Astrid snuggled into his chest not even realizing she was actually getting a little bit tired as well. She smiled softly “is my king ready for bed?” She teased

Kain smiled as he tightened his grip slightly, resting his head on hers. He let out a yawn before placing a kiss on top of her head. "Very much so my queen" He rumbled out a purr as he felt his eyes closing. ​

She couldn’t help but giggled as she snuggled into more. She absolutely loved how warm he made it underneath the covers for now at least, it was thankfully fall, come summer she’d likely change her mind. She began to stir a few hours later with a mumble having shifted over and burried her face into his chest.
