Conundrum: The Question Without An Answer (Season One)

Once she had finished wiping the tears from her eyes, Vienna looked to Kimirou momentarily as he spoke to her, before averting her gaze and turning away bashfully. She would prefer Kimirou not to have seen her like this... she wished to be seen by her comrades as strong, intelligent and unphasable. That very moment however, she remembered what Nightwalker had told her after shadow stepping into her room whilst she had shut herself in out of fear of being seen crying, that had gotten her to finally come out. "Showing emotion is not weakness. Weakness is refusing to face your fears... nothing more." Putting on a mask of indifference was not necessary, it was a weakness... a method to avoid facing her fear. Vienna found herself smiling, and shaking her head. "Nothing is wrong," she finally spoke up, looking towards Kimirou again. "I am simply... overjoyed by the kindness of my fellow Shadows... they have given our teammates thier pieces. I'm not certain why, but I am very grateful."

@Newtype

At this point Darious had arrived. Vienna only spared a raised eyebrow glance and a roll of the eyes at the Pirate's apparent wardrobe malfunction. She wasn't all that bothered by it. in fact, Kimirou's outward reaction caused Vienna to giggle a little uncharacteristically. Once she realized this, Vienna immediately looked away, hiding her now flushed cheeks beneath her hood and long back hair thankfully. She usually found it a sinch to be the focused, serious one among the other graduates... in fact, that's usually her default state of mind. So why all of a sudden was she acting differently in a near-subconscious manner?

Vienna's attention was taken from her thoughts as Kimirou spoke up again, addressing her. She blinked a few times, then spoke up. "Oh, me?" She asked, clearly a bit surprised by his sentiment. "I... suppose I would like to, if you all agree." If Darious, Kehinde and Sora would hand her thier pieces she gladly did the honors before returning the now halfway finished puzzle back to Darious. Regardless, once everyone had arrived and caught thier breath, Kimirou suddenly began nonchalantly walking away from the group, seemingly agreeing with her earlier statements about what they should do next. She turned to the others. gathered there for a moment. "I for one agree with Kimirou... but I would advise a bit more caution than he's using." She looked over the others to see how they responded. Vienna had a bad feeling of what Kimirou may be about to get himself into, but it seemed wisest to see if the others are as eager to follow before she did so herself. She could catch up with shadowsteps rather quickly, anyway.

Sora tossed his piece to Vienna after Kimirou's suggestion that she connect them. He watched as the others one by one arrived some better off than others but they all looked more less fine. Tough Sora could tell the difference in soul essence expending by the others. As he was never in the thick of the fight on this one he thought he should lead the charge(bad pun) on this next one. He chose to agree with Vienna and said "Yeah I vote we add another piece to this puzzle and to do that we have to take it from that other team who stole it from under our noses. Now they'll fast the real power of the Lightning Emperor because i'm all charged up!" He said the last part with a burning passion for h was ecstatic(bad pun) about being front and center on this one.

Sora began walking behind Kimirou, it was pretty much a majority decision to keep on going. He considered racing on ahead but he couldn't abandon his comrades who expended a good amount of soul essence in that last fight. After all, they fail f one of them dies and Sora really looking forward to moving up to the next rank. Though one thing that'll always be in their favor is versatility as they come from different factions. It also seemed their koumpi were somehow coordinating them to compensate for the lack of tam training. Though some team raining would do them some good to take their cooperation to a whole new level.

He grinned helplessly despite himself at their reaction to his accouterments. there was nothing better around to dress his wound so he had improvised and despite Kimirou's outburst the pirate had nothing to stay his torn pants so they would have to get over it.

It seemed despite their better judgments the others had decided to move on and return to tracking the shape shifting Hirudo from earlier. The group had three puzzle pieces now and if the newly acquired pieces were anything like the one Darious had taken from the Eighth they would be saturated with enough Rudai that the Hirudo would come to them. It was already dark so it seemed better for them to make a fire and rest up for a while to recover their spent soul essence and no doubt the Hirdudo would come to them sooner or later. But the stubborn graduates decided to press on despite a few of them being in a weakened state. This group was just like a group of pirates. They all voted on what to do next. Very rarely did a Pirate captain decide where to sail on his own.

"Are you sure you all want to go on the hunt right now?" he called after the ones that were moving "I mean, it's already dark and some of you are weakened. Besides, there's enough rudai within these three puzzle pieces to attract a small army of Hirudo. Doesn't a cozy campfire sound better than blindly seeking a shape shifting Hirudo in the darkness? We could all gather around its warmth and sing songs, talk of adventures, blah blah yada yada I've got a flask of fine rum stashed in my jacket" he finished with a sigh

If they chose to move on he would follow them, but it seemed kind of foolish given the circumstances

As soon as Kehinde finished, Vienna responded with agreement to Kehinde’s thoughts on whether to keep moving or slow down. Darious then showed up in a rather odd manner. His undergarments were showing and it seemed as if he were okay with it. “So that’s how it’s done these days huh?,” The voice spoke, “I just thought our people were the only one’s who were half naked.” Dismissing the torn up guy with his eyes, Kehinde replied, “Glad we were brought up to wear clothes.

He then turned his attention back to the group. He looked at each one of them to see if he could gauge how well they handled themselves in battle. One thing that struck him as strange was the fact that they were missing someone. He threw his head around in each direction, but there was no sign of her. “Where did she go?” Kehinde wondered. “Last time you saw her was back at the docks.” Kehinde then thought back to the three other teammates caught in Kimirou’s trap. “Crap you don’t think…..” The voice interrupted, “Now don’t go over thinking things. I’m sure she’s fine. Besides they probably didn’t know she was with you all.” Kehinde pondered and the voice spoke once again, “Again. I’m more than sure she’s ok.” Kehinde shrugged and rejoined the group just in time to see Kimirou head off after giving Vienna a piece of the puzzle. “No sleep for the weary I guess.” Kehinde thought, watching Kimirou leave. Following this act, he looked to the others to evaluate their reactions. He noticed Vienna was on the fence about moving on so he decided to offer his two cents, “I mean you have to admit. We stop here the other team is bound to get the one up one us. No doubt while we were battling, they probably took the time to rest up. It was sheer luck for them to run into another team here on this Island. This is just speculation of course.” @StoneWolf18 @babyjoker36610 @Derg

Not long after Sora followed suit and carried on behind Kimirou. Kehinde sighed and absently yawn in the process. His mind was wanting to keep going, but his body was telling him no. “You need to listen to your body Kehinde a little rest in the near future wouldn’t hurt. You have just enough to get you to the next stop and that’s it. If you keep moving, I suggest you don’t stop. That’s just my opinion.” The voice within his head spoke up. "Try telling that to those two," Kehinde thought, shooting his eyes in Sora and Kimirou's direction. Kehinde was almost about to take a step behind them, but Darious brought up a good point. With it being dark out, trying to track a shape-shifting beast would be next to near impossible even for the best soul essence sensors. Taking a break would be the best course of action, but then again falling behind would be the detrimental feat for the group. Kehinde smiled at Darious and when he looked at him and was reminded of his attire, the smile quickly left. “Don’t tell me you’re afraid of the dark. Besides this is your domain. I suppose you would know this forest better than anyone.” Looking to Vienna he continued, “If anything were to happen I’m sure we’d have each other's back.” He smiled. With that, Kehinde folded his arms and slowly started behind the others knowing that either way they wouldn't have had a choice. @Affili @DergTheDergon

Although fun takes place on the outside, on the inside you can only see it from a nearby tv or radio. The place that does this is called Destirdere. This is where the USA council keep their penitent or blacklisted hunters for any crimes, acts, etc they have committed that aren't severe enough to place them into the black hole or Alderia. This place currently houses two hundred plus hunters some being from home and others from outside councils. Some notable hunters that are here include, the bone collector, it was said he took and tortured his own comrade and his comrade's family in ways that are unspeakable to this day. The sun demon, who baited and slowly baked his superior hunters to death then turned around ate on their remains. There are more, but even mentioning their names is a crime.

As the Kunina ensued, inmates were allowed to view it on tv. The tv was pretty good size maybe about seventy inches, located in the mess hall. Because the Kunina was going on, there was a higher than usual amount of people hanging out and watching. The inmates watched it so they could get, see new blood, who the next strongest will be, etc. Of course where there are inmates there are guards hanging around. They were placed at each entrance, some looked down from the second level, others mingled within the crowd, and some watched from cameras. One person the kept their eye on was Margie. She arrived there about six days ago pending charges for interference with an investigation. Being that she was the Fifth Knight, she was a possible danger to others as well as others harming her because some of the people here she did put there. Margie sat about six feet from the Tv. Her table was almost under the left balcony but was in plain view from the right. Margie noticed that she was being watched closely and her new friends on the inside picked up on it.

focusing her attention on the Kuninas, she couldn’t help but feel eyes on her. She tried to keep herself calm, but the cold stares she was receiving kept on edge. “You know they’re watching you right?” One of the female inmates told her. Margie sighed and leaned her elbow on the table, “I’m aware of that. Eyes have been on me since I got here.” She implied looking at each guard. “Well, I don’t think they should be doing this. I mean it’s not like you committed a heinous crime.” The inmate returned. “Hmph. I wish it were that easy.” Margie added. Guards weren’t the only one’s watching her. Across from her group were a few inmates that she had put away a long time ago. They kept their eyes on her looking as if they were going to try and start something. Feeling the looks, Margie slowly turned her head and locked eyes with them to let them know to back off. She was about to visit them, but the announcers had mentioned some very familiar names. She shot her eyes toward the tv taking her eyes off of the group. One of the guys took the opportunity to throw something at her. Margie heard it glide through the air and flicked her hand nonchalantly, causing the water from the cup in front of her to knock the object out of the air. Margie was still able to use her abilities due to the guards still in the waiting on the power restraint bracelets to be forged for her. Had they been forewarned about Margie's arrival they would have had them upon her arrival. Seeing Margie effortlessly stop the projectile infuriated the inmate. He remained cautious about the ordeal just to keep down any commotion. He leaned over to his cell mate, “You saw that?” He whispered. “Hmm, I suppose it was a neat little trick. She is the current Fifth Knight remember.” His cellmate returned. “Hmph, I could do that in my sleep. The only reason I’m in here is because that tramp one-upped me. Let her keep saying good morning. I guarantee you she won’t have long.” By that time Margie had made her way over to the group and welcomed herself into a seat. She quickly responded to the inmate. "I will keep saying good morning and there is nothing you or anyone can do about it. Also, I don't have long in here anyway cause unlike you, I have friends on the outside. They will never leave me in here for more than a week. Especially since that is the minimal time it will take to get me out." She then looked over to the other inmate. "Yes I am the Fifth Knight, but if you are good I may let you call me by my name." She then returned to the inmate that threw something at her. "I may have put you in here, but I am in here with you. So I can't be all that good. So I would get on my good side if I was you." Margie then made her exit and returned to her own cellmate.

*Character Intro*

Open the west side door!” One of the guards radioed. “Ten-four. Opening.” As the door slid to the side, all the talking came to a complete silence. Everyone’s attention began to hone in on the person standing in the doorway. Even some of the guards were shocked to see someone of this caliber show up. “No way it’s him.” A guard spoke. “In the flesh and as always dressed to slit someone’s throat.” Another guard responded. *Press Play* The person slowly stepped forward. His walk was like that of a businessman that had money. One would say he was confident while others would say he was about his business. His soul essence was as fierce as heat coming off flames. As he slowly walked through the openings between the tables, people began to follow the man with their eyes. Some whispered as he passed by. He heard one of the whispers and stopped on a dime, “It’s not polite to whisper while people enter your presence.” His honey sounding voice remarked. “Now I could do something about that whispering problem, but….I remember the reasons you are here. Have anything else you need to say?” He added addressing the inmate. The inmate almost turned sheet white, “N….no sir. I was just asking a question. Nothing serious.” The man smiled and continued his stride, “Excellent. Learn who I am. So next time, maybe you won’t make the same mistake.” Margie didn't even realize someone had entered the room until the last words exited the individual's mouth. A sigh of frustration left her mouth as her head dropped to the table. One would say she looked like a depressed person, so depressed they couldn't even lift their head from the table. Margie's cellmate quickly spoke as she was totally oblivious to what was going on. "What's wrong Marg?" Margie tiredly waved her hand in the direction of the individual. "That!" She expressed. "I'm locked up, why oh why do I have to deal with THAT?" Obviously Margie and the individual didn't get along. “I come to visit you and this is the welcome I get?” The man spoke sitting down as if he’d been there the whole time. The man then looked at the inmates at the table, “I’m sorry. This is between the lady and I. Could we have our privacy, please?” He asked with a charming smile. “Were good right here. Whatever you have to say to her you can say in front of us.” Her cellmate returned. The man pleasantly chuckled, “Oh yes. I understand but know this. Unless you want to spend the rest of your life here at this table, I suggest you move to another table hmm?” Margie lifted her head and looked up at her cellmate. “It’s fine, I got this.” Her cellmate looked back over to Margie and winked at her. “You know I got your back if you need anything.” “That won’t be necessary I assure you. I guarantee you she’s in good company.” The man reassured with an eye-catching smile.

As the group stood and left the table Margie’s cellmate made the “I’m watching you” gesture towards the man. The man winked at them, and mouthed, “I’m watching you too.” He nodded gesturing at some of the inmates and the guards. After the demands of privacy were met, Margie looked up at the man and sighed once again. “What are you doing here Thomas? What do you want?” Thomas leaned back and placed his elbow on the table. Leaning his head on his fist, he responded, “I can’t see a comrade?” Margie chuckled back. “Funny cause I am sure you had something to do with this. I mean you certainly didn’t do anything to stop them. They don’t even have any evidence to keep me here. Even you know that.” Thomas inhaled then gracefully exhaled, “That’s quite alright. I know you love to pin the blame on everyone. If it was my doing that landed you here, then why would I come all this way to visit?” All eyes were now on the two as they talked between each other. No one talked, no one moved, no one even thought to do anything but watch tv and keep from making eye contact. The guard next to the north entrance took a remote from his pocket and turned up the volume on the tv to give the two more privacy.

*Show Intro. Listen before reading first part.*

Rebecca: “Welcome back to the forefront of the Kunina. I am on the verge of beating Elisha at his own game so give me just a moment.

The camera reeled in on the table between the two. The table was covered in cards and both had cards in their hand. Rebecca turned a card in front of her sideways and then picked a card from the hand of cards and began to place it down.

Rebecca: “I call upon Thomas the First in attack position and attack your Margie the Fifth. That sends her to the graveyard and you lose the game.

Elisha looked at Rebecca with a shocked look on his face. He wanted to throw his cards down and storm out like a little boy, but instead he kept it tight and put on a front for the viewers.

Elisha: "There you have it, folks. The Huntrix trading card game at it greatest. For a limited time only, get your chance to win a Thomas the First card as well as Thomas the tender years card. Enter for a chance to win."

Rebecca: “You can enter at huntrix.com brought to you by the Dynamic Where the World of hunters is at your fingertips.

Elisha: “How about you tell them what cards are available Rebecca.

Rebecca: “In recognition of the current battle our favorite group is in, every entry will automatically win 3 brand new ‘Wilderness Labyrinth’ field cards. 1000 winners will get the ‘King of Illusions’ now limited edition and first ever printed in the new Reflective Imaging format. It far outdoes the current Holographic Foil print. 100 winners will get a Thomas the First card. And Last but not least. 5 Grand Prize winners will get every prize in the Reflective Imaging format including a special made and specially signed ‘Thomas Tender Years’ card, hand delivered by tomorrow’s special guest, Thomas, the First Knight of the round Table. Each ‘Tender Years’ card has a different effect as well as a unique image making them the most unique cards in Huntrix.

Margie quickly looked over when Thomas’ name was mentioned by the announcers. “So that is why you came to visit? You go on tv tomorrow and you wanted to gloat didn’t you?” After her statement, she snickered sarcastically and looked away from both the tv and Thomas. Margie was very disappointed by the outcome of things. Not only was she locked in the most notorious lockup in the US, but she now also had to deal with the egotistical personality of the person she honestly had the illest feelings towards. For him to come and gloat about his accomplishments once again gave her just the thing she needed to really belong in this place. Thomas shook his head at Margie, “Why must you always overthink things. This is just a friendly visit,” He threw his right-hand midway up and gave a cheesy smile, “Honest.” Margie quickly responded. “It would be better if you were getting me out of here. Honestly!” Thomas slapped his knee and slowly rose to his feet. He stretched, cleared his throat, and adjusted his clothes, “Well. It’s your lucky day!” He grinned, “You are free to go. By way of the first Knight. Always good to help my comrades.” Margie didn’t budge and sighed. “Now is not a time to play about things of that nature.” Thomas placed his left hand in his pocket and proceeded to the exit, *Press Play*Do I ever play around Margie?” He questioned lacing his voice with a sinister tone. “I smile because that throws off the enemy. I hope you have learned your lesson by now,” He stopped in the doorway looking over his shoulders, “Tango with me and I’ll give you a night to remember hmm? Margie?” He jeered walking out the door. Before he left he poked he poked his head back in, “Oh and one last thing. Great job you did with those graduates they seem like something to be on the lookout for.” With that, he finally departed from the mess hall. No sooner did he leave did the chatter picked back up and things were back to normal as usual. Following his departure, the alarm mysteriously went off. Margie rose and without a word began walking right towards the exit. “I should definitely stop by the front desk to see how legit this is. And of course, he had to go and give me a job as soon as he leaves by releasing someone else, or should I say let them escape.” She thought to herself. Guards rushed past her with gun and armor in hand. Doors began locking and a voice came over the intercom, “This is an emergency alert. All able personnel to the north side sector of the facility, report immediately.” Margie was met by the secretary that normally is at the front desk right as she was about to open the exit door. In her hands were Margie’s clothes and possessions. “Ma’am we need to report to the north side sector as soon as possible. There is an emergency that we wish for you to assist in before you leave. Please and Thank you.” With that, the woman ran towards the north side sector. “Attention all personnel. Inmate 24125 otherwise known as Bloodbeard is on the loose. Shoot on sight. This Inmate is a level S criminal. Also be advised, his koumpi restraint bracelets have been destroyed.

The Hirudo’s speed was rising by the second. The ground was starting to run out. Ori and June were hot on the beast’s tail. Ori clapped her hands and caused her paper planes following the beast to dive in. June rose up in front of the beast and thrust her hands forward sending a sound blast at the beast. The beast sidestepped and dodged the attack by an inch. From behind the beast, black spikes with ropes attached to them sprang from the tree tops and hurled themselves at the beast. Moving a few inches to the right, the beast chuckled, “Persistence isn’t going to prevail here.” Xander leaped down from the tree with a roll of paper trailing behind him, “Attack!” He yelled landing on the ground. From the paper flew large birds that flew high up, paused, and en formation descended down upon the beast. The Hirudo jerked its head back and rapidly shot Ovida’s to counter the attack. The impact from the attack caused a bit of dust to kick up. The Hirudo used this cover to escape. It slid off into the water and swam down into the sea disappearing without a trace. When the dust cleared, the Hirudo was gone. The Metagrams were left looking around in confusion. “Looks like he got away,” Xander remarked. “Indeed, what shall we do next?” Simon chimed in. “We move on to the next area. Hopefully, we will run into the beast sometime soon. We need to keep our eyes open,” Gage added, Looking over his shoulders, “Looks like our competition will be here sooner than later so we need to be moving.” With that, the team hopped onto a nearby boat and hit the water to the next area. *Stop*

Laying out on the beach blending in with the on looking pedestrians were Knights seven and eight along with the messengers. As soon as they saw the boat set sail, they made their way to the front of the crowd. “Alright, folks! That was first hand Kunina at its best. For more excitement like that please visit the Information desk for when the next event will be. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your day!” Felix the Seventh Knight announced. The crowd began to disperse following the speech. Some continued to lay out while other went on to the information desk as told. The beach was a bit crowded for it to be night time so keeping a low profile was a must. “They should be heading this way,” Josef spoke, “Is the ship ready?” Rico looked at Felix. “Yes, As soon as they come we will need to set sail. It’s at least a day’s trip to get to fountain canal.” Nereus pinned his hair up and drag the giant suitcase over, “Good let me get this on the ship. A little help Rico?” Felix furrowed his eyebrow, “What is that?” Nereus replied, “A suitcase what does it look like?” Sighing Felix responded, “Why?” Dropping the suitcase in frustration Nereus replied, “Umm for the graduates. They have been battling all day. They’ll need some clean clothes and stuff. Just shut up and help me get this on the ship. A girl’s back is hurting.” Nicky walked up pulling an Ice chest, “Refreshments are essential as well. Can’t work all day and not eat. So I cooked up a little something to get us all on our Journey. Felix rubbed his forehead to level out his stress. Looking at all of this was giving him a slight headache. “Did you put the vials of medicine in the chest Nicky?” Wes materialized speaking. “Yes, I did. Buried it in the Ice.” She replied. “And where are you going?” Felix asked Wes. “Tempest sent me to tend to the graduates. Since everyone else had support teams and such we thought we should lend the graduates a hand.” Felix began to bite his bottom lip, “So I guess we are going to have a full ship?” Anuli spoke up, “Yep pretty much. You have us, You, Nereus, and Wes. So that’s eight people going for the ride. If they don’t have support then they won’t succeed. Come on, we’re all here because something about those graduates just makes us want to be there for them. So here we are. Every other team has a support squad so why can’t they? Anyway, shotgun!” Anuli sped off laughing. “He does have a point you know?” Alf chimed in. “I know….you know how I am with people…” Alf chuckled, “Oh yes we are aware of that.” He patted his shoulder walking off. Felix flipped open his pocket watch, looked at the time, and waited for the graduates while everyone else prepared the ship. “Don’t worry I'll greet them.” He sarcastically yelled, “Not like I had a choice anyway,” He mumbled. “Why can’t I just grab a drink and relax. I always get tricked into doing stuff.” Whilst he waited he opened his coat and pulled out his flute. He brought it up to his mouth and began playing a song that he had been working on. He calls it blackheart. @Newtype @Affili @DergTheDergon @FrontLine @StoneWolf18 @Of the Red

He looked up at Kehinde and laughed "Afraid of the dark? No, I've learned some of my greatest tricks in the dark Kehinde. As far as this forest is concerned? I never had the chance to explore it. There's no hidden treasure chest here or anything of that sort" he added with a glint in his eye. "I was just thinking about a nice warm fire is all!"

As the pirate found himself lost in the thoughts of relaxing beside a fire and having a drink, he sensed the Hirudo's soul essence once more off in the distance. It hap popped up along with a few familiar essences form the team they had first encountered. He sighed in frustration. If he could sense the soul essences, then so could the rest of the graduates and that meant they would all speed off in that direction despite the fact that a few of them were ready to drop. "It can't be helped I suppose" he murmured to himself as the last hopes of a nice fired burned away with their non existent flames.

A hissed escaped through his teeth as he pulled himself to his feet "I hope this thing doesn't get infected" Darious had never been hit by a soul essence bullet so he wasn't entirely sure what the effects would be over time and with his aim, most targets he aimed at, died as a result of the shot. The wound was an hour or so old now and it was gradually becoming more of a bother as time progressed.

Using Kinsi, he began to move towards the soul essence spike as undoubtedly the others would be doing that too. Mid travels though the Hirudo essence fell away and within moments, so too did the other team's essence begin moving away from the island.

A brash sounding blip began to go off inside of his jacket pocket. Darious stopped at the top of a tree and pulled the monitoring device from his pocket to see where the source was. "Damn it. My captain's quarters alarm." It was a two stage alert system. One blip sounded when the door was opened if the alarm was active, and the second blip that sounded repeatedly signaled that the trap had not been disabled resulting in it being triggered. That meant that right about now, someone aboard his ship was covered in a brilliant fluorescent purple dye that would last for days. It was mostly a harmless booby trap really. This trap was designed to let everyone know who had entered the captain's quarters without Darious' direct permission. If anything were to go missing from there, the culprit would be obvious.

"I have to get back to the ship! Something isn't right back there." he announced from the tree top as he slid the device back into his pocket. That was the truth in retrospect. They had been on the hunt for hours now, and with the other team's essence gradually moving away from the island, there was no telling how they were traversing the ocean. Also, there was no way to confirm that the eighth was even still there at the beach near the ship either.

He vanished from the tree top, reappearing high above the deck in the crow's nest, with his ruined pants whipping violently in the wind. He looked down and sighed once he saw familiar faces scurrying about below. They were reloading the ship. Some of the messengers were their along with a few others. The pirate squinted against the darkness and could make out Wes from the infirmary also. Darious Tapped his chin in thought. None of the folks he could see on deck were purple he was sure of that. That purple would light up the darkness like a small flare.

"Hmmm...Maybe I'll just stay up here for a while" he confirmed to himself. If someone was still below covered in dye they would be furious and at this point Darious wasn't sure he wanted to be within arms reach when said person reappeared. There was no telling who it was at this point.

After Darious' suggestion to build a camp fire and sit around it and the fact that it is too dark for anyone to find the Hirudo even with the best essence sensors, Kimirou halted and turned around. Just as he was about to comment Kehinde once again beat him to the punch with a little sarcastic comment. Kimirou however still added in his two cents. "While I do agree about the fact that we do desperately need rest, do you not think if we sit here that another team won't find us? Also did you forget that we are the best of the best from each faction. We have a shadow, a scout, and a ninja. Those three factions alone are experts at combat and tracking in the darkness. Not to mention the fact that my eyes give me impeccable vision and if I'm not mistaken Kehinde's give a sense of illumination. Plus we are going into the fourth day of the Kunina. If teams have been eliminated they are going to be trying to stop other teams from progressing or even stealing their puzzles to be able to still get promoted. We can't just sit and wait on that to happen. Even if we don't find that Hirudo, we have to keep moving. If not only to get out of this forest and be able to actually see, then to continue on and try to at least find the other pieces to get the promotion. Remember if we don't do this we are as good as dead."

With that Kimirou turned around and continued on as if he said nothing. He hoped he didn't offend anyone, he was just hoping to open their eyes to a few things. "Looks like someone put on their girdle too tight. You know they may look at you differently by what you just said and how you just said it. It is as if you are trying to control the team instead of being a team." His koumpi interjected. Kimirou responded to his koumpi in his thoughts. "I was trying to control the team. Whether or not they know it, I just want to prove myself to them. I fell as though I have found a great group of friends that will stand by each other. I just don't want to let them down." His koumpi chuckled at him and responded. "Well, isn't someone the only sensitive gambler in existence. If you feel so strongly about this then why don't you just tell them that." Kimirou stopped in his tracks with his head hung low. "I can't tell them. That would be weak." His koumpi picked up on what he was saying and doing. "Come on now my child. You need to stop listening to the words of that koot your mother called your father. Your power comes from your mother and she granted you this gift. If you don't stand up and show your true colors, are you really giving your late mother and justice or thank you." Tears began to run down his cheeks.

With his head hung low Kimirou turned around to his team one again. "I do apologize. I do not mean to sound as if I am trying to control things. I just want to prove to you all how strong I really am. I want to make you proud. I finally have a group of people that I want to protect and I feel want to protect me. I understand that at times I can be distant and cold in natural. Also, sometimes I try to push things that are far beyond my control." Kimirou then rose his head revealing his face plastered with a smile and tears running down his cheeks. "But I am Kimirou Asura. Son of Diana Asura. I am not my father. I don't need to live up to his demands. I need to protect my friends. My new family." Kimirou then looked around the group. "If you all will have me?" With that Kimirou turned away from the others and continued on his way. Kimirou began to see light at the end of the tunnel, literally. Upon seeing it he waved back to the others to hurry. Then using Kinsi he appeared on the beach just outside the forest. There he was astonished to see Alf and the others. He even saw Wes, which was a shock. Along with them was of course the Eighth Knight and now another Knight but Kimirou didn't remember which one he was. Kimirou was very relieved to see the outside of the forest and the messengers for that fact. Kimirou turned around to wait on the others before approaching them.

As Vienna turned her back on the others and kept moving towards where she sensed the soul essences, all of a sudden the argument between Kimirou and Darious became more heated. She stopped and turned around, suddenly noticing Kimirou had stopped in his tracks as well, aiming some rather harsh words in Darious' direction. Vienna sighed as she took in the scene, looking away when Kimirou turned about angrily, shaking her head. If there was one aspect of working with a team Vienna had never dealt with well, it's internal conflicts and heated arguments like this one, at .east ones that don't involve her to begin with. She'd had a lot of practice deflecting blame and bitterness towards herself from her fellow Shadow graduates, who were mostly boys and were raised very, very differently than Vienna having known thier biological parents. It took some work but eventually they all backed off, one by one. If this were her, she would simply say it was Darious' choice to follow the others or not, then go on her way. No further arguing or calling out required.... Darious began to follow of his own accord anyway. Vienna felt like she should say something to Kimirou, but didn't know what... and that was when he turned around to face her and the other with tears in his eyes. Vienna's eyes widened with every word... his prior actions made more sense now. After he was done Vienna was certain she needed to respond, but that was the very second Kimirou turned away. This was no problem due to the ability that was her alias' namesake, but she still found herself hesitating due to a sense fear she couldn't exactly comprehend before she finally steeled herself as she shadow stepped towards the source of soul essence. Sending a whisper to Kimirou's ears, she spoke. "Why wouldn't we have you? I for one am not upset by your words, they rang true... and I know all too well the pressure to earn your comrades' respect... you've certainly earned mine already." Vienna continued moving and didn't wait for an answer... if he had something to say in return he'd do so later, she supposed.

As she kept moving, she started to sense quite a few familiar soul essences, and not just those of the other team. In fact, these ones were... closer, somehow. This perplexed her for a few moments, until she heard Darious' voice ring out among the trees, announcing that there were unfamiliar presences on his ship. Squinting her eyes in confusion, Vienna kept following the soul essence trail until finally, to her own astonishment, she found herself back on the very beach she and the others entered the Kunina. Finally, these familiar soul essences were clear... among them was Nicky and the other messengers, and the Eighth Knight. Approaching Kimirou, who was now standing and waiting for her and the others, she glanced past him to see a few of the sources of the soul essences she sensed. She spoke half to whoever gathered upon the beach could hear her, and half to herself. "What are you all doing here? And why... Ohh, so the Hirudo is off the island..." She nodded her head in realization, deep in thought. That didn't exactly answer her question, but she supposed finding out would be the next best course of action in order to get the next piece anyway, as they'd probably need to cross the ocean in that boat to get to it. Slowly approaching the ship, Vienna caught a glimpse of Nicky, digging through an ice chest and pulling out a bottle of something. The messenger stood up and turned to Vienna. "Well, look what the cat dragged in," she spoke up playfully. "I felt your battle with the other shadow team all the way over here... especially your own essence. Learning how to harness your awakening already, huh?" Vienna simply nodded. "Yes, but I'm still wondering what you all are doing here." Nicky chuckled a little at how down-to-business this girl was, not even taking time to respond to a compliment for such a feat of prowess. "Yeah, I know this is sudden, but all teams are supposed to have a crew behind them... that's us," she said, gesturing around to all the others. "I'm sure the Eighth'll answer your your questions when you're all safely aboard. You look like you need the rest, anyway." Vienna sighed, taking this sudden information in. She just hoped the others would all arrive soon, so they could get underway as soon as possible... they're already on a much tighter schedule than the other teams, thier head start courtesy of Manuel's team aside. Vienna turned and waited for the others to get here, looking into the forest somewhat anxiously.

As Kehinde walked, he could feel a few skirmishes of soul essence here and there. By the looks of it, so could everyone else. Instead of being happy about the hint of where to go next, Kehinde sighed a sound of disappointment because of it. He wanted to continue on after the Hirudo, but with the state his body is in right now there was no way he could stand another fight. Before Kehinde could move on to the next stop he noticed Kimirou had stopped and turned around looking past him. He had a sort of an irritated look on his face. Following that he lit into Darious in response to his comment. Darious didn’t stick around to respond. He was gone before Kimirou could get his next thought out. Another strange thing took place and it was Kimirou seemed to be crying. He also went on to talk about earning the team’s respect. “Reminds you of something hmm?” The voice in his head spoke. Kehinde quickly shut it down, “Let’s not go there.” In reality, he actually was impressed by Kimirou’s courage to express his feelings. Kehinde was never good at expressing his own let alone trying to conceal it. Ever since he left his homeland, he has always kept his feelings to himself because to him, no one would care anyhow. Kehinde chuckled lightly brushing off the gesture. He didn’t owe any of these people anything. For all he knew, they were from another faction.

Kimirou and Vienna took leaving Kehinde on his own. People have told him that one-day slow walking will cause him to fall behind. “Why are you walking so slow Kehinde? You need to catch up with everyone else.” Continuing his stride Kehinde spoke, “So why do you think we are doing this?” The voice made a gasping sound, “W....what? You are kidding me right?” Kehinde stopped in his tracks, “I’m serious what’s all this for?” The voice then made a sighing sound as it began to explain, “First off keep walking because if you cause this team to fail because of you selfish, overthinking, egotistical attitude then we will be parting ways.” Kehinde subconsciously walked as if he didn’t have any control over his body. He tried to resist but the force was too strong and so his stride continued, “You know, we have to do things in life that we aren’t going to like. Sometimes we do it and it benefits us. This here thing you have going on will leave you broke and all by yourself. That whole teamwork thing back there was not by coincidence. You felt it as did everyone else. You know you were doing something right. You are going to have to come out of that mode you set yourself in.” The voice continued. His koumpi was right ever since he was little he always put up a wall to people he didn’t know. This happened until he met his best friend and love interest, Rita. They were destined to be together he thought. They were going to live happily ever after he thought. “Stop it Kehinde. You can’t beat yourself up about it all the time. Give these people a chance. I’m sure you won’t regret it.” The voice chimed in.

Before he knew it, he heard someone call him, “Hey Slow walker Kay you coming or what?” A familiar voice sounded, “I knew you would make it out alive, but really you look like road kill.” As always that same person who owned the voice somehow knew how to push Kehinde’s buttons, “Oh yeah?! Well, atleast I look awesome even in the heat of battle,” He fired back looking up to see his messenger. Seeing Anuli somehow filled Kehinde with a sense of relief and comfort, but he wasn’t about to let him know that. A slight smile slid across Kehinde’s face as he emerged from the forest. He was in disbelief when he saw everyone including Wes was there waiting on them. Something struck him as strange though because he could no longer sense the soul essences he felt earlier. He shrugged it off and struck it to mere coincidence. “You see? They do care. You just have to be willing to accept it son.

With that, Kehinde picked up his stride and made his way over to the others. Anuli appeared in front of Kehinde and drove his palm into Kehinde’s forehead pushing him back, “And that’s for having me worried about if you were alive or not with your slow walking ass.” He leaned over Kehinde. “Alright, I deserve that.” Kehinde rubbed his forehead slowly sitting up. “Good you’re just in time to help board the ship! I need a smoke break so you get your lazy ass over and move a box or two,” He turned to Kimirou and Vienna, “Matter of fact you all to. Grab something and put it on the ship. Time’s a wasting.” He finished. Kehinde shook his head rose to his feet and spoke, “There’s one more behind us. Sora I think is his name.” He walked passed Anuli patting him on the shoulder. “I need a shower.” He gestured. @Newtype @OwlOne @StoneWolf18 @Of the Red

Sora felt soul essences going at it up ahead and desperately wanted to go after them but then Darious suggested they stop followed by Kimirou giving a very logical reason as to why they shouldn't stop which Sora believed were good enough reasons to keep to going on not noticing the controlling nature of the words. Sora then found himself surprised at the words Kimirou said next and the tears that came with them. Sora found himself frozen in his tracks ironically. Then his koumpi chimed in "I see you were caught off guard, this sends a message that maybe you should pay a little more attention to the little things about your comrades because those can tell long stories." Sora slowed down so much to talk with his koumpi that even Kehinde surpassed him at his current pace. "Yeah I know but kind of unexpected Ice Man would have a melt down." Sora replied. "You should offer him some words on the matter, they could ease his mind and clear yours on the matter." The Raikouryuu suggested. Sora nodded his head and then began to notice the familiar soul essences up ahead.

Sora began to emanate electricity as he blended that and kinsi to come shooting out of the tunnel and circle around the messengers and the 8th Knight kicking up a ton of sand while doing so, just after Kehinde mentioned him. "Hey everyone, glad you all came to feast your eyes on the return of the Lightning Emperor." Sora exclaimed posing one hand in the air almost reaching out as if to grab a cloud in the sky. He dropped the pose and then walked over to Kimirou and punched him lightly on the shoulder after dropping the lightning. "Relax Ice Man, I get it why your cold sometimes and I get warming up may be hard. We're in this together just don't go melting into a puddle. All puns intended!" Sora said smiling under the mask that covers half his face.

*Character Intro Song*

After Felix finished the last note of the song he was playing, he looked up to see some of the graduates start to show up. Kimirou seemed to have made it out alive, Vienna following him, Kehinde not far behind her, and Sora also with his electrifying entrance. *Press Play* After being trapped in a sandstorm, he opened his left coat pocket, angrily pulled out a cherry wood finished case, and frustratingly broke his flute into sections then stabbed it into the case, all while his eyebrows were trying to hide from him in the wrinkles of his scrunched up face. Felix had an oval face with a defined, almost wide chin and a clean-shaven jawline. He also had a cowlick style hair cut that placed his bang neatly to the right side of his face, deep-set aqua colored eyes, slightly pointed nose with a bull ring attached, and soft pink lips that had a habit of being licked. He uncrossed his legs just as Darious flew over his head and onto the ship. He side eye the guy as he felt his watchful eyes beam down on the ship. Felix counted to three and repeated within his head the phrase, “I’m okay with people. People are okay with me. Embrace them and they’ll embrace me,” just as his therapist taught him. He slowly stressed his hands to his knees and stood up, collapsing the cushioned chair he sat in. He picked it up, slid it up under his arm, and started back for the ship. @Newtype @DergTheDergon @babyjoker36610

By the time Felix turned around, Niclaus was standing there, apparently he wasn’t affected by the entrance of the ninja. "So are you going to greet Darius or should I?" Breathing heavily, Felix replied, “Do whatever you please Niclaus. I don’t care nor will I ever care.” Niclaus shifted his head to the side. "Awww Felix, don't be such a Debbie downer. You should do it. Make Betty proud." Niclaus pointed out Felix's therapist's name in hopes of forcing him into it. A deep ache settled in Felix’s jaw and then he realized he was clenching his teeth, “Niclaus. Please. Handle it, you know I have a lot on my plate.” Niclaus sighed irritatedly. "Fine, I'll handle it." Niclaus turned around and right before he used kinsi to vanish, he expressed. "But just to let you know, I'm calling Betty and telling her everything. Be warned my truth maybe a little stretched."

Felix’s hand started to become a bit tight from the response Niclaus had given him. It seems as though every time he and Niclaus had to work together, he would somehow coast right back into his well….”Issues” as his therapist Betty calls it. Felix curved his head a little and was about to fire back when his front pocket began to buzz. He kept his eye on Niclaus whilst he reached for the device. Pulling it out, he took his eyes off Niclaus and looked down and saw who it was was calling him. Taking his finger, he slid it across the device picking it up, “This is Felix,” He answered with an annoying tone. A familiar feminine yet stern voice came across the speaker of the phone. "Felix, I knew you would answer. This is the only way you like to communicate. Anyways..." Felix interrupted the person, “Throwing shade today? I’m not in the mood.” "Have you not even realized that I am calling you from my own phone and not the prison phone yet?" The voice angrily screamed in Felix's ear. As the voice screamed, Felix held the phone away from his ear mocking the voice with his hand. “Get on with it!,” He replied, “I’m about to be on a ship for a day with about twelve people.” "Should you really be getting on a ship? Won't the vibrations of the waves make you queasy?" The voice sincerely asked. Felix once again felt the ache within his jaw, “Margaret please get on with it!” He exclaimed. "Fine..... So....... Bloodbeard escaped. Head over here quick. Thanks, Bye." 'CLICK' The voice rushed and hung the phone up. This wasn't the first time Margie had done it either. She did this do to the fact that Felix wouldn't call back. Instead, Felix would show up angry and screaming at the person that hung up on him. The entire time is not realizing he just did exactly what they wanted him to do.

Felix’s silky sun tanned colored skin seem to lose it coloring following the message he received. He was pissed and worried all at the same time. He gulped intensely looking over to Niclaus as if he’d seen a ghost. Niclaus spotted the look just as he quietly appeared behind Darious. "Sup Wendy the wonder Witch." Niclaus greeted Darious. He then looked down to discover the man's revealed undies. "That is so not a trending fashion statement. You should really change before anyone sees you." He continued. @Affili @Newtype @FrontLine @DergTheDergon @babyjoker36610 @StoneWolf18 @Of the Red

Darious relaxed a little bit when Niclaus emerged unscathed by the dye trap. At least one of the most powerful people he had met so far would not be having his head on a platter for dinner this night.

He felt the air shift quietly behind him as The eighth materialized on the crows nest.

"There's plenty of room beside me in this basket why would you show up behind me like some kind of an assassin in the night? he queried irritably before easing the firing hammer forward then holstering the pistol that was trained on the Eighth's stomach. It was mostly an instinctive response that had proven beneficial on several occasions. "Sorry about that Eighth...Force of habit" he added with a sigh before looking down at his garments in response to the Knights comment. "Awww Whats wrong Eighth? Not your color?" he asked as he cocked his waist to the side flaunting his underwear. He cursed and clutched his chest wound as the burning sensation shot through him once more. "That reminds me, I need to learn a healing Konsido as soon as possible Eighth, this wound is proving a source of great aggravation. Any suggestions?" He bit back the pain before tossing his head towards Felix "Who are all these people on my ship? That guy with the flute seems a bit dodgy.. is he alright? he asked quietly as the man looked up towards Niclaus.

Darious's thoughts were interrupted by a string or perfuse cursing as a very purple Rico emerged from below deck "Where is he? I'll kill him I swear!." He shoved past Felix and Darious watched bemusedly as some of the dye rubbed off on Felix's sleeve. "Well aren't you a sight for sore eyes you bastard!" Darious replied "Serves you right for breaking into my quarters huh! Now look at you." he added, pointing sharply at Rico from where he stood. "I hope Purple's your favorite color cause you'll be stuck with it for a few days now mate!" he added with a chuckle just as he stumbled over a piece of his ruined pant leg and lost his balance, sending him tumbling out of the crows nest and towards the deck below.

At this point the infuriated Rico was quite content to watch as Darious plummeted towards the deck.

*Pres Play* For some reason, Felix had made his way to the crow’s nest. Niclaus thought it was due to Felix wanting to make sure Niclaus wouldn’t call Betty, or maybe to give him some information on that face he gave him earlier. Niclaus then chuckled at Darious’ response to him pointing out the undergarments. “Do you really think that color would be? I actually prefer commando, actually.” Niclaus winked with a chuckled following his response. Rico then made his entrance doing the worst thing a person could do to Felix. In slow motion Rico brushed past Felix. Felix began to feel a thumping sensation within his chest, his breath growing short. He stopped a moment to glance as his sleeve only to be met with a smudge of purple dye on his bejeweled engraved sleeve. Felix gulped intensely and again just for kicks. He shot his head over at the fleeing Rico, looking at him as if he had flames within his eyes. Niclaus quickly looked over to Rico. “Oooooh, you are going to get it,” He whispered while trying to hold back a laugh. Feeling the dull ache within the crevices of his jaw, Felix kindly broke his silence. "Ri....." he cleared his throat, "Rico." His voice raised to a slight yell. The yell distracted Niclaus enough to cause him to look up. Darious then asked a question. Niclaus walked closer to him so that he could let Felix and Rico duel it out behind him. “Well for one the messengers and myself were already here. Felix is here for some reason but he hasn’t said what yet. As for Wes, he is here to be part of your crew. Each team has a crew to back them up, why shouldn’t you?” He whispered to Darious.

Rico nonchalantly turned around at the sound of hearing his name called. By the time he had fully turned around, Felix was already in his face with a full-on fist. Rico instinctively tilted his head a little to the right, spun around the projection of the blow, and ended up on the backside of Felix, “Whoops almost got me there Felix. Few inches over and you’d a had me.” He winked. Felix didn’t even care to follow up with a second attack he just went straight into the next stride leaving Rico standing there. Rico, with a confused look on his face, looked up to Niclaus. “Is it something I said?” Niclaus looked over to Rico and responded with a smile. “Not said. Did.” When Niclaus looked back to Darious all he saw was his foot finishing his tilt over the side of the crow’s nest. Niclaus quickly sprang into action and with a flash, Niclaus was standing on the deck of the ship with Darious in his arms. @Newtype

Storming past them was Felix, "We have things to discuss. As soon as we adjourn we will set sail." He whisked around the corner. Wes and Josef shook their heads and giggled among themselves, "Kind of what I just said." Josef turned and faced everyone on the beach. He looked around to see if there were any bystanders. Once he felt there weren't any, he brought both of his palms and curved them on each side of his jaw. With a deep breath he yelled, "HEY GRADUATES! COME ON AND GET CLEANED UP AND GET READY FOR A BRIEF MEETING BEFORE SETTING SAIL!" To them it would have sounded far away but to Wes it was close enough. Following that Wes remarked, "Ok then I'll get started on preparing some medicines for them." Josef nodded, "And I'll go set things up. What about you guys?" He spoke in the earpiece. "In that case Nicky and I will prepare to set sail. Alf what are your plans?" Anuli replied. "Well I’ve got to go get cleaned up!” Rico screamed with irritation. “I’ll make sure everything’s done correctly.” Alf responded. @Newtype @FrontLine @Affili @babyjoker36610 @DergTheDergon

Following Sora’s messy entrance, Kehinde patted Anuli on the shoulder, “Annnnd that’s all. I’m going to wash up and get ready for the trip.” Kehinde looked over at Kimirou and Vienna before taking off, “You guys coming? Might as well get all clean up. Looks like it’s going to be a full moon tonight. Great time to sit on the deck and watch the sky.” He smiled. He turned around and started making his way toward the ship. As he walked, he began to take in the beautiful evening sky that had a few stray clouds that hugged the moon. He looked over at the ship and noticed that Darious seemed to have made it there before them. He and his encounter with Nereus gave him a slight chuck reminding him of the shenanigans he and his faction mates used to play. That was until they started to treat him differently. The games started to become cruel tricks and awful laughs. His friend started to become totally different people right in front of his eyes. The same eyes that got Kehinde in trouble somedays. @DergTheDergon @babyjoker36610

Kehinde was knocked out of his thoughts when he noticed Rico bust out of the ship covered in a purple substance. He shouted insanities at Darious for causing him to look the way he did. Chuckling, Kehinde continued his stride into the ship. Once he finally got there he made his way up the steps then stopped, looked back at the junk, sighed, and proceeded backed down the stairs to grab a box. He picked it up, the smallest one, and carried it onto the ship dropping it just a few inches to the left of the entrance. "Alright, Kehinde you have to rest up. Without the ability to control your power, you don't have the proper control over you eyes. They drain you." Kehinde rose his hand to his head, “I understand. I was about to hop in the shower anyhow.

He then began making his way to the inside of the ship. Before he made it completely in, he heard one of the messengers call for everyone to come on aboard. Good thing for Kehinde he was already on the ship and heading for the shower. *Press Play* After the call, Kehinde went on ahead inside. It was nice and quiet. No battles, no other people, just him and the walls. As he walked along the halls of the ship, he began to think back to the time he was with his faction mates. How much fun it used to be being a scout. He more or less ran with the upper league scouts rather than those of his own rank and when they moved on, he was left with the ‘nobody’s’. They weren’t the nicest of faction mates. They befriended Kehinde just to turn around and stab him in the back. Tired of this he would just stay to himself and not deal with anyone. That was until Selina and her team came along. They showed him how to trust his comrades again, how to feel what an actual friendship was like, and how to just be himself. Once anyone broke Kehinde’s shell, he became the best of friends with them. Part of the reason he puts up a shield is because he doesn’t want people to stab him in the back like some of his faction mates did. He’s just a guy with a questionable past who is trying to carve his own path in life.

Kehinde stopped off at his room only to be met with a shock, his shower bag was neatly placed on the bed along with some night clothes for him to put on. He smiled, picked them up, and proceeded out of the door. Finally making it to the shower, he sighed shaking his head at his thoughts. He proceeded in the bathroom and closed the door behind him. He flicked on the lights which revealed your basic bathroom, a mirror with lights, a shower, and a commode. Not too fancy, but just enough to do the trick. Kehinde hung up his night outfit so he could retrieve it after his shower. He then slid the glass door open and went to turn on the shower, steam instantly kicking up. Freeing his body from the day’s clothes, he stepped into the shower and let it wash away the day’s worries, pain, mistakes, and misfortune. He let the water just run on him.

Once he finished, he stepped out of the shower sliding the door behind him. He took his towel and dove his face into it so he could dry the water off of his face. He took the other half and wiped some of the steam off the mirror. After that, he turned around to grabbed something. As he went to come up, he noticed a tattoo on his upper back, close to the shoulder blades. He stared at the tattoo for a moment almost as if he were speechless. “First time seeing it huh?” The voice in his head spoke. Kehinde had no words to conjure to even respond to his Koumpi. “The winged sun is what it’s called. Symbolizes divinity, royalty, and power. Only those with true hearts and true power wear this magnificent art. Your true power lies within that mark, your eyes, your mind, and your heart.” Kehinde continued to stare at the tattoo until his eyes began to burn from not blinking. Rising back up, he looked at himself face to face in the mirror. Staring at himself he spoke to his reflection, “Who are you?” The voice in his head chimed in, “That’s a great question.

The fall left Darious no opportunity to right himself and he was thankful once he realized he hadn't been plastered onto the deck of his own ship. How ironic that would have been. Instead, he found himself caught by Niclaus. The sudden stop was enough to open his wound again but the pirate did not realize it until after he disengaged himself from the eighth's clutches. "Thanks for not letting me get smudged on my own deck, It would of been hell to clean up such a mess!" he said through clenched teeth, biting back the pain once more.

It took a few minutes for the captain to catch himself but once he did he beckoned to one of his crew. "What's up Cap'n ?" the young sailor asked once he was beside Darious. He leaned in close, resting his hand on the sailor's shoulder "Make sure those two don't trash this ship while they prepare to set sail" he murmed under his breath. Truthfully Darious was not at all happy with the fact hat they were encroaching on his duties as a captain. The sailor's eyes flicked to the two messengers that had volunteered. "Aye Cap'n, I'll hover over them like a hawk circlin' prey. Why don't you leave it to me and go get cleaned up...make sure you change while you're at it" he added then he caught Darious' stern glare and threw up his hands "Just a suggestion is all"

"Yeah yeah, just get to your duties sailor, before I toss your smart ass over board"

With that, Darious nodded at Niclaus then spared a glance at the moon above them. Something about this night seemed off, and if anyone looked hard enough, they might have caught a brief loss of composure in the Captain's face as he glanced skyward. There was an eerie blood red haze gradually encircling the moon, its inky crimson tendrils moving slowly yet deliberately, branching out against the moon's glow like a silken spider web.

It was an omen that hadn't been seen for many years now. To any normal person looking at that haze it would definitely seem like an odd occurrence, but to the members of the Pirate Faction, that blood red haze told a dreadful story all on its own.

Darious quickened his pace and disappeared below deck.

It was the standard these days for most larger vessels to have a system for catching water. The holding tanks would heat up during the day thus warming the water within them to a comfortable temperature for showering. An ingenious innovation that many a captain and their crew were happy to indulge in. This ship was one such vessel. there would be plenty of water onboard for the graduates and company to bathe and get cleaned up with.

Despite the urge to bathe, Darious paused at his writing desk first and pulled out the captain's log, hastily scribing a brief summary of the events that had unfolded during that day. he was soon interrupted by a rapping at his door

"Enter"

The door opened revealing one of his sailors, a pallid expression on his face "Captain, there's a touch of bloods bane about the moon tonight!"

"I know I've seen it. Any thoughts first mate?

"Nay captain, I don't have any information at this time"

"Me either, lets just play it by ear for now, I have to go to a meeting in a little while, perhaps it'll shed some more light on the situation"

"Aye Captain! Preparations are well under way and we're keeping a close eye on the messengers that are helping. We should be at full sail in about forty minutes."

"Very good First mate, please keep me posted. Keep the other sailors as calm as you can until the meeting's over. I don't want any of them spooking our guests with ghost stories. Oh and one other thing, there's someone on deck by the name of Wes, hes a healer"

Once Darious described Wes he added "Could you ask him to come to my Quarters please?"

"Got it, I'll do what I can"

At the end of his entry, he penned with a shaky hand the words 'Some of the sailors and myself caught a glimpse of blood's bane around the moon this night. It could signify a number of things. No further details at this time'

He returned the Log to is normal resting place, laid out a change of clothes and soon he was under a steaming shower scrubbing away the muck from his wound as best he could. He wrapped a towel around his waist after his shower and sat down to wait for Wes. Hopefully the healer could tend to his wound before the meeting

The First mate drew up in front of Wes with a polite nod "You must be Wes, the Captain was wondering if you could come to his quarters before the meeting, I think there's a wound festering on his chest he'd like you to look at, it looks pretty nasty. I can show you to his room if you can spare the time right now."

Vienna and Nicky both found themselves observing the commotion on up the ship's deck from the beach where Nicky had just filled the young Shadow in on everything she knew about their situation, the voyage, and the Kunina. Admittedly it wasn't much, but she did know that the graduates would be called to a meeting soon. Nicky shook her head and cracked a smile at all these shenanigans due to some exploding dye trap. Sure, those stains may never completely get out, but it was almost turning into a battle royale over something so trivial. Nicky then looked to Vienna. "I suggest you get onto the ship, get cleaned up and all that. They'll be expecting you soon." Vienna nodded and promptly began heading to the ship without a word, simply waving to Nicky with the back of her hand. Nicky found her eyes following the young shadow as she headed inside the ship, hands in her pockets staring idly off into the ocean once she disappeared inside. 'These kids really are something... aiding them in the Kunina is probably the one thing I'll be most proud of in the end... can't feel anything but guilt when I think back, anyway.' Nicky felt unnerved suddenly, feeling eyes on her from the direction of the ship. Glancing that direction, her eyes met wes' before she immediately turned away, starting to walk out of his view. She noticed out of the corner of her eye that Josef was looking to her as well. Balling her fists, she forced herself not to stop and glare at them until they stopped doing the same, walking onto the ship and into its interior until she was completely out of view. 'They would've heard by now that I spilled the beans, about what I could even say with certainty at least. I wish I remember what the hell I even did, but I have a feeling that's the seal's doing. If I don't know the truth, I can't possibly tell it... clever bastards, whoever developed that technique. All I remember is coming to with wes leaning over me, smoke everywhere, and my body pulsing with lightning. The last thing I remember before that was Ilari shocking me whilst I converted the light it created into my own being... I can't help but think he knew he was creating a monster, and didn't give a shit. He knew he could layer all the blame onto me because I was unstable, and that in that mental state I'd screw up big time with my newfound power. He's probably happy that he was able to satisfy his sick curiosity, see what would happen if an injured, mentally exhausted Hunter in a life-threatening situation was given an unstable power she had no clue how to control. The truth'll get out someday... only then will I ever be able to let go." Deciding to deviate from train of thought before she lost it in front of everyone, Nicky wordlessly headed to the Brig to help Anuli get things underway.

Vienna moved past everyone wordlessly, and headed to the showers before doing anything else. Who knows how much hot water there was left, not that Vienna was adverse to cold showers as much as most others probably would be. Right now, relaxing in hot water for a few minutes sounded like heaven to her. Stopping off at her room first, she was pleasantly surprised to find a clean, unscathed change of clothes and her toiletries bag neatly resting atop her bed. It seems that the graduates' "crew" had been hard at work making things as easy on the young prodigies as they could. Opening the bag, she spied an out-of-place glass bottle among her shampoo and conditioner. Taking it out, it was revealed to be a bottle of wine, with a note attached.

Just in case you need something to help you wind down. I don't think I have to tell you not to get wasted right before we reach our destination, but go slow on this stuff.

-Nicky

Vienna shook her head a little at the messenger's kind, if slightly questionable, gift, then left her scythe and cloak by the bed and gathered up her things before heading to the women's showers. The room was empty, and once she closed the door Vienna didn't hear the voices of the others either. She found herself thankful for the peace and quiet after the ordeal she just went through. After stripping down, stepping into the show and turning on the water, Vienna found her mind wandering back to her encounter with the other Shadows... now that she thought about it, she seemed to better understand why they did what they did. More and more of the hunters above her and the other graduates seem to putting a lot of faith in them. Vienna didn't know how she felt about that... on the one hand, it was nice to know she was being depended on, truly feeling as though she mattered more than she ever has, but at the same time she found herself anxious and afraid. What if she and the others could not do what everyone around them seems to be expecting? Even if they win the Kunina, will they eventually face a challenge truly over thier heads? In the midst of these troubling thoughts, Vienna's Koumpi began to speak up within her mind. "Honestly Vienna, you are aware that such thoughts only discoruage what you percieve as your purpose, aren't you? Think of it this way: all you need do is fight to the best of your ability, and whatever happens happens. "Shadows are not bound by future or past," remember." Vienna nodded, her Koumpi having repeated what Nightwalker had taught her of the Shadow code. It wasn't exactly that simple, Vienna began to think, but the words still comforted her in a way. Having finished her shower, she stepped out and looked into the mirror whilst drying and taming her hair. She swore for a moment that she saw a pitch-black panther with red eyes in her reflection momentarily, clearer than she's ever seen her Koumpi. She felt inspired and awestruck gazing upon this vivid image. "Remember, no matter what hardships you face I shall always be there to guide you." "I know," Vienna thought, knowing that not much needed to be said. Getting changed and heading back to her room, she fetched her Scythe and cloak, before heading to the ship's meeting room and sitting down, quietly waiting for and observing the others as they came in.

As he stared at himself a slight smile slid across his face. “I’m just a new book waiting to be opened,” He spoke turning away from the mirror with a smile. “That a boy. Starting to get it.” He reached for his night clothes and began to put them on. “You’re right I am. I have to figure myself out. I don’t even know who I am yet.” Kehinde replied taking a seat to put on so night shoes. “And once you accomplish that you will have unlock something that’s beyond the mind’s comprehension. Magnificent people start out as a shameless nobody.” The voice chimed in. Walking back up to the mirror with a smile, Kehinde winked at himself, sprayed a hint of coconut, and proceeded out the door with his belongings.

As he walked, he seemed to have more of a pep in his step. His head was higher and his eyes were focused. It seemed as if he were on a mission. Turning the corner, Kehinde bumped into one of Darious’ men. “I do apologize,” He emphasized. “No..no it’s quite alright. My mind was elsewhere anyhow and I should have been watching where I was going.” Kehinde conceded. The guy then smiled and gestured toward the hallway, “If you’re going to where the meeting is going to be held, then it's right this way. I’ll take you if you’d like.” Looking in the direction of the guys hands Kehinde kindly nodded and let the guy lead the way down the hall. Walking with the guy gave Kehinde a chance to learn about the pirates. The guy was very informative and helpful he could believe they were even a part of this faction. It seemed like with every stride the guy would stop and point out things to explain.

The saying must be true that time flies when you are having fun because right when Kehinde was starting to enjoy himself, they were at the doors of the meeting room. “And it looks like we have made it to our destination. It was nice chatting with you. Never knew a scout could be so easy going.” The guy chuckled. “Trust me there are some bad apples in every faction. I just so happen to not be on.” Kehinde replied, scratching the back of his head with a cheezy grin. “Yes I agree. If you guys need anything else just let us know.” The guy finished leaving Kehinde’s company.

Kehinde nodded and the turned to face the door. He stood there for a moment just to keep his nerves down. He always get a bit nervous when it came to meetings because it always ended up being bad or something. Building up enough courage, he stretched his hand out and pushed the door open slowly. He proceeded inside noticing Vienna. He greeted her by tilting his head down slowly with smile. He then quietly made his way to a seat closest to the head of the table. Sitting down, he spoke to Vienna, “Kind of nice to be able to sit down and enjoy the surroundings for awhile. Don’t you agree?” Kehinde could help but wonder what this meeting was to be about. “Relax Kehinde. I’m sure it will go over smoothly. @DergTheDergon

Leaning back in one of the chairs surrounding the table in the center of the room, Vienna's gaze shot towards the door when someone started coming through, that someone she recognized as Kehinde. As he looked to her and nodded with a smile, she returned it with a slight smile of her own. As Kehinde sat sat down, Vienna began to look away from him and back towards the door, not exactly keen on starting a conversation. She can never seem to think of things to say in these types of situations that didn't seem tactless or uninteresting. Thankfully, Kehinde seemed happy to oblige, and Vienna looked to him when he asked his pertinent question. Vienna nodded with a slight smile, her violet eyes gazing at him attentively despite being partially cover by her bangs. "Yes... it's exactly the change of pace I needed from the constant fighting we've had to endure lately. Though, battle is enjoyable in its own right." She finished her response with a slight smile. Looking down and seeming deep in thought after this, she then turned back to Kehinde after a few moments and spoke again. "I wonder... the Messengers, Council members and all the others that seem to be counting on us for this... do you think they're putting a bit too much faith in us? We've just graduated, and I can't seem to wrap my head around why they seem so sure we will do such great things. If we don't win the Kunina, we won't be around to make a difference to start with. Maybe I'm just overthinking things..."

Kehinde listened to his koumpi as it tried to calm his nerves. He was really still trying to swallow everything that had taken place over the past couple of days. His thoughts were brought to a halt when he heard a faint voice began to speak. Hearing them he looked over to her, “I agree,” His mouth opened slightly letting out a yawn, “It’s only in battle that a person truly realizes who they are.” He finished his response stretching a bit and catching a glimpse of Vienna. From what he could tell she was a rather reserved person. Most like many other shadows he has me met in the past. He lightly shrugged and went back to what he was doing.

As soon as he did, Vienna spoke up her thoughts on the current situation. The points she was mentioning made Kehinde think about it himself. Come to think of it, he wondered what was their purpose in this whole thing and it was a relief to hear like minded people express their view. “No, I don’t think you are overthinking things,” He sighed as he began to go into his next point, “I just think there are a lot of missing links and unanswered questions.” Kehinde turned to face her then continued on, “They must see something in us that we have yet to see for ourselves. You’re right we are just graduates and maybe that’s the reason why we can’t see what they see. Maybe they are trying to get us to where we need to be.” Kehinde then chuckled a little, “I’m just talking from mere opinion. Anyhow, I don’t think we have properly met,” A genuine grin made its way onto Kehinde’s face and his right hand slightly went up making a peace sign, “As I’m sure you already know my name is Kehinde. Pleasure to meet your acquaintance.” This was a big step for him. He usually steers away from introducing himself because he didn’t care to know how they felt about him, but hearing her thoughts gave him a little courage to try it. @DergTheDergon

Vienna looked to Kehinde when he spoke back up, and nodded in agreement at his response regarding combat. Couldn't have said it better herself, honestly. After voicing her concerns about how highly the others are regarding thier little group of graduates, Vienna listened intently to his words, seeming to take away quite a bit from his musings on the subject. Vienna was slightly relieved, but at the same time further unnerved for different reasons, that at least one of her comrades also thought thier situation was rather fishy. Perhaps there was something about this ragtag group of young adults that they themselves didn't know, that caused the council to pour so much of thier time and resources into them, as well as act independently from the council as a whole. If it was something like that however, Vienna couldn't begin to guess what. Kehinde may have been speaking from mere opinion, but his words rang truer the more Vienna thought about them.

Vienna was surprised at first as Kehinde decided to give her a proper introduction despite them both being familiar with at least thier names. It seemed a bit uncharacteristic of the scout, and to be honest Vienna would most likely never have thought to initiate such pleasantries herself. Having been raised more or less by her faction mates, social norms outside the Shadow faction aren't exactly, well, normal to Vienna. After a slight pause to think of how best to respond, she nodded to him. "Vienna Moors, though again I'm sure you already know. The feeling is mutual," she spoke curtly. As Vienna continued to wait for the meeting to start, she grew increasingly more anxious about the possible subject matter. Perhaps it was just a briefing on how the remainder of the Kunina is supposed to go, but Vienna had a feeling there'd be more to it than that.

After he turned around Kimirou noticed Vienna walking past him. After she as she conversed with Nicky, Alf walked over to Kimirou and stood next to him. “So, I take it things went well?” Kimirou stubbornly stayed silent watching as his other comrade made their entrances. Sora of course made the flashiest entrance. He ended it by coming over to Kimirou and throwing icy jokes all over the place. He then sofly punched Kimirou. Kimirou looked over to Sora and chuckled still not uttering a word. Noticing this Alf began to speak again. “We aren’t talking are we? What’s the problem now.” Although Alf had only spent a few days with Kimirou, he obviously picked up on the fact that Kimirou gets more silent as he gets more angry. “Kimirou you are going to have to break out of this if you are going to succeed as a hunter.”These words as Alf continued somehow convinced Kimirou to speak. “I see it better to get more quiet and contain my anger than to go off the deep end. It called a poker face. You should get one.” This wasn’t the response from Kimirou that Alf was expecting but at least it was a response. “Now that’s better. I worry. I thought you wouldn’t break yourself out of that and eventually you would end up like Felix.” Kimirou’s eye shot over to Alf at the mention of the name. “So that’s who that is?” Kimirou asked. Alf answered with a chuckle. “Yes, that’s Felix, the Seventh Knight. I wouldn’t get on his bad side if I were you. He is one that now definitely goes off the deep end.”“What seems to be his problem?” After Kimirou asked this question all Alf did was laugh.

Alf then finally stopped laughing and then advised. “Well young grasshopper, you might as well head on to the ship. There is a meeting that will be going on soon." Kimirou cut his eyes at Alf and began making his way to the ship. As Kimirou was walking up the stair to the ship, he gazed over to the boxes. Reading his thoughts his koumpi decided to make her presence known. “That would be very high of you Kimirou to do that. I should say you still have just enough soul essence to exemplify that correctly.” With her words Kimirou reached into his pocket, took out a die, and flicked it at the group in between the boxes. Once the die hit the ground, it melted down, producing ice that formed beneath the boxes and made a path all the way up the stairs in a ramp like formation. With this the movers would be able to slid the boxes right onto the ship with ease. Kimirou smirked and commenced on his travel to his room. His koumpi congratulated him on a job well done and gave him permission to relax. By the time his conversation with his koumpi was done he had made it to his room.

To Kimirou’s surprise, neatly placed upon his bed was a small bag of toiletries as well as some newly pressed night clothes. Kimirou looked at the blue and snowflake night clothes and smiled a little. “How did he know I would love these.” Kimirou thought to himself and his Koumpi soon followed with a thought all on her own. “I mean he has been with you night and day for the last few days. I would think he would know what night garments you choose to drape yourself in.” Kimirou rolled his eyes and grabbed the items proceeding into the bathroom. When he arrived in the bathroom, he realized another gift was left for him. On the sink was a fragrance that a few gamblers would kill eachother over. Alongside that was a small clear bottle with no label or note. “I wonder if that is what I think it is.” His koumpi quickly asked. “It looks like Witch Hazel” Kimirou smirked and replied with a question. “What the hell is Witch Hazel?”“In my day, Witch Hazel was a nasty drink that was rough on the throat but the effects were quite nice.” Kimirou smirked, “Well, I certainly hope it is then.” Kimirou quickly grabbed the bottle and downed a few gulps. “Not so fast Mister. I am still a part of you. If you kill yourself off by drinking too much of that, you will never become the person everyone is expecting you to be.” By the time his koumpi finished her statement, Kimirou had removed the bottle from his lips. About an eighth of the bottle was missing. However, that comment made Kimirou take a few more sips, so now about three sixteenths were missing. “Please stop talking or I will drink more.” Kimirou demanded for silence and peace.

Kimirou made his way into the shower. As the warm water washed away the day’s emotional and physical turmoils, Kimriou’s thoughts washed away as well. Finally at peace, Kimirou closed his eyes and just relaxed for a few moments. His mind then started again with the thoughts of the day’s events. He quickly commenced with bathing himself to divert his attention away from the thoughts. After about an hour, Kimirou finally emerged from the shower feeling refreshed and peaceful. He looked back to the bottle on the sink. “I guess I shouldn’t have anymore, even if the shower did dampen the effects.”Kimirou then looked over to the fragrance, walked over to it, spritzed it into the air, and walked into the middle of the dew cloud and let it drape onto his body. “Again another great gift from Alf. The rarest cologne in existence and one that the gamblers know all too well. Poinsettia Mist. I’m not even going to ask how he got this.” Kimirou then made his way back into his room. He discarded his garments of the day in the hamper next to the bathroom door. “Well there is nothing else to do but head to the meeting hall.” Kimirou thought as he exited the room and proceeded down the hall.

Upon arriving into the meeting hall, he was surprised to see Kehinde and Vienna gabbing it up. Kimirou quietly made his way to his seat. Upon sitting, however, Kimirou broke his own silence. “So any ideas on why we were called here for this meeting? I mean if it is any more news on this grand thing everyone is expecting us to be involved with, I for one don’t want to go any further without at least knowing what it is. Aren’t you guys curious about what it is that we lowly graduates are so important to be apart of? I for one think that they should have chosen someone more suited considering I don’t want to fail at whatever it is.” Kimirou then rested his head on his hand while his elbow rested on the table in the middle of the room. “Do you guys think they are putting too much on us as well? At such a rapid rate not to mention you know?” With that Kimirou looked at the both of them and awaited a response. @DergTheDergon @FrontLine

Nereus winked at the hunter after he received gratitude for practically saving him from a fatal fall. Letting him down, the hunter then collected the rest of his marbles. Following such, one of the shipmates came to him on command and this made Nereus nod with an intriguing look. He couldn’t help but notice that as the sailor talked to Darious, the sailor kept stealing a glance at him. The sailor wasn’t have bad looking so Nereus winked at the sailor and played with his hair. Before he knew it, both Darious and the sailor was gone. Really, right when I was about to catch me one,” He mumbled. Nereus shrugged then yelled, “Sweetcheeks!” He called for Felix, “Where did you run off to? I have a bone to pick with you.” He stormed off into the ship.

Leaving Josef’s presence, Wes began to head off the deck and into the ship to start gathering some medicines. Just before he entered, he heard Nereus’ voice and shook his head, “So glad I don’t work in the messengers division.” He sighed with relief. As he walked into the ship, it was apparent that preparations were underway. It was like a bee hive inside with everyone going about their own business. Wes looked at each side of the room trying to figure out which way to go. “Excuse me!,” He extended his hand in the air to be noticed. One of the sailors heard him and kindly walked over to assist, “Can I help you with something?” The hidden curved girl asked. Wes trying to keep his drifting eyes at bay replied, “Yes, I’m trying to reach a medical room of sorts on here.” The young female sailor, obviously possessing tom boyish ways, chuckled, “There isn’t one,” She nudged Wes. “Look,” She pointed, “You go around that corner and to your left there is an empty room you can set your medic stuff up in. Anything else?” Wes trying to contained himself declined, “N...no I’m sure you’re fine…..I mean helpful…..I mean yeah I’m just gonna…” Wes scurried through the busy corridor leaving the woman to herself, “Alright. Bye, I guess.

Finding his way to the room, he stood there a moment to catch his breath. He was in slight disbelief that some of the women sailors looked that good. Suppressing his unclean thoughts, he stuck his hand out, turned the knob on the door, and proceeded into the room. He felt his way to the metal string hanging from the ceiling. Pulling on the string, the room lit up. Wes’ eyes lit up alongside the light as he looked around at the size of the room. He nodded in approval of the room taking in the different things he could do there, but considering the time frame, he wouldn’t be able to do much. The room was nothing special, it just had a basic desk with a chair that sat against the wall by the door and a table in the middle of the room that was possibly use as a map reader in the past. “Well I guess it’s time I set up shop,” He spoke looking around for the best place to start. “Damn, I left my stuff up top with Nicky. Guess I’ll have to get one of those cute sailors to help me….stop it Wes...not here for the girls...I’m here for the graduates.” He told himself as he made his way to the door.

Appearing before him almost scaring the daylight out of Wes was a sailor talking. On instinct, Wes drew his weapon almost coming close to the sailor's throat. Realizing who it was, Wes angrily put away his weapon and muttered, “First off I’d appreciate if you use the door like a normal person and knock,” He looked up to meet the gaze of the sailor, “Secondly, I’m fine with taking a look at him, but he has to teach you some manners.” Walking past the Sailor and obviously feeling embarrassed, Wes opened the door, “Now lead the way rude person.” Doing as was told, the sailor brushed past Wes glaring at him before walking out. Wes followed suit closing the door behind him. The two silently walked through the busy halls making their way to Darious’ room. As Wes looked at the back of the sailor’s head he couldn’t help but wonder if the guy even heard what he said. If he did, how would that make Wes look. Tempest would jump all over him if she found out that he was back to his whorish ways. That kept him from doing his job many times in the past. Wes was so lost in thought that he bumped right into the back of the now stopped sailor. As the sailor was about to angrily turn around Wes quickly played it off, “Nope. Don’t even Mr. I like to show up in a locked room with guys. Open the damn door so I can get back to setting my things up.” He added a dramatic glare. Rolling his eyes the sailor opened the door, “I have Wes like you requested sir.” He gestured. Wes still glaring at the sailor made a taunting jump at him as he passed to see what he would do. The sailor tilted his head and threw his tongue out and left Wes with Darious. Watching him leave, Wes turned to Darious, “Man you have some childish sailors here,” He shook his head, Waving his hand he continued, “Come on open up let’s see this wound. I don’t have all day.” It wasn’t that he was trying to be rude, but he wasn’t exactly excited to see another man’s chest. @Affili

Darious thought's were interrupted as Wes entered the room. He watched the medic's sorry attempt of a taunting jump at his First Mate from the corner of his eye and sighed to himself.

"Whats wrong Wes... you seem flustered." he began as The healer passed his remarks upon entering the cabin. "There's a decanter of fine spiced rum on my writing desk if you wish to indulge" he added pointing to the decanter with a chuckle.

"Yes I know. They are a miserable lot aren't they. Like untrained hooligans... always taunting and nagging at one another." He responded then rolled his hand through the air with a grin."That's my First Mate you're talking about. I don't choose a First Mate lightly Mr. Wes." he added with a wink.

"So yeah, this is going to sound weird but the strangest thing happened back in the forest..I shot myself from thirty feet away! Bizarre huh?" he added, removing the rag from his chest so that Wes could have a look at the long tear the bullet had left. "Why couldn't you be Tempest right now sheesh. Kind of my personal space here and I'm stuck with a hairy guy instead of a nice smooth lady."

He fell silent for a moment then spoke up once more "Wes' I've been thinking. correct me if I'm wrong but wren't there a few basic healing Konsidos hanging around? could you explain some of them to me. I can't help but think they would be beneficial Konsidos to have in one's arsenal. Am I right?"

He went on as The healer went to work.

Anuli wasted no time in getting thing set and ready to go to set sail. As soon as they mentioned that they were ready to get things underway, he swiftly took off and began working. Anuli was going back and forth asking questions, checking up on things, making sure everything flowed the right way, you name he was handling it. He briefly stepped outside to check on the loading of the luggage, "How's it going? Need any more help?" He asked. "It's going, you don't have much left so we should be fine." The crew member replied. Anuli nodded in approval, "Awesome we sail soon so if you guys need some help let me know I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty." He smiled retreating back into the ship.

As he walked back, he bumped into Nicky. Not realizing this he apologized, "Sorry didn't me...." He looked up to Nicky standing in front of him. "Oh....hey Nicole." He dryly spoke looking away from her. One could tell Anuli still was a bit upset about earlier. Nicky's confession seemed to affect him more so than everyone else because he thought she would have at least told him. He wanted to turn and walk away, but he stayed thinking she'd offer some sort of explanation. @DergTheDergon

Kehinde smiled as the shadow returned with a greeting of her own. This seemingly made him happy on the inside because of the fact he actually initiated first. “There you go,” The voice in his head commended, “Way to take the first step. Wasn’t that hard at all Kehinde not everyone that you encounter is bad.” Kehinde agreed within in himself and returned to waiting for the meeting to start. Seemingly as the minutes ticked by his eyes would get heavier and heavier until one point he fell asleep for a brief second.

Hearing the door open woke Kehinde up and he shot his eyes over in that direction. Coming through the door happened to be the guy from the gambler’s faction, Kimirou. He made his way to his seat passing Kehinde. Of course he caught a whiff of something that intrigued him, “Poinsettia Mist I presume?” Kehinde asked giving a quzzical look. “Of course I could be wrong, but it smells an awful lot like it,” The gambler seemed to have other things on his mind as he went on about the same thing he and Vienna were just talking about, “Your guess is just as good as mine. I figured they’d be ready by now. I sleepy and a little hungry,” He looked down at his stomach. He then heard Kimirou continue on touching points that he had concerns on as well, “I guess we will just have to find out in due time you know?” He gestured, “Vienna and I were just discussing the same thing just before you walked in and I myself have a few questions I would like to ask, but I figure now is not the right time.” Sighing he looked over to Vienna, “You look as if you are deep in thought everything ok?” He asked. “Make sure you listen intently when the meeting gets underway I’m sure there will be loads of information you can take from it.” His koumpi suggested. “I know.” Kehinde replied. @babyjoker36610 @DergTheDergon

As Nicky made her way up to the brig, she found her mind wandering back to her confession on this very ship. As a defense mechanism of sorts, she usually refrains from analyzing her own words, especially in a calmer mood, to avoid feeling even more guilt due to her lack of self control. She wasn't always this way, back in the Omada her temperament was far more manageable. But ever since the "accident," she'd decided to call it, she's tended to have short but intense mood swings, not unlike a sudden thunderstorm. The mental price she paid for her electric powers that she never even wanted. The way she acted that day, she had a feeling Anuli would still be pissed. He had every right to, seeing as he was probably unaware that he'd triggered Nicky's utter loss of inhibition at that moment, causing her to say the hurtful and roundabout things she did. But, that was precisely why she was forcing herself to aid him in preparing the ship. Hopefully, she'd get the time to explain while she wasn't seething or surrounded by her higher ups, two things that added up to cause the rather tactless way that she put things earlier.

To Nicky's disappointment, but not her surprise, when Anuli realized who he was bumping into he immediately changed his demeanor to make it painfully clear he was still pissed. Nicky sighed as he turned his back, and when she noticed that he hadn't fucked off just yet, she took a deep breath and spoke in a calm, apologetic tone. "Look, Anuli.. There's a lot more to it then I said back there, obviously, but I would've told you sooner if I believed I even could. I've been forced, with a memory sealing technique, to forget the parts that matter the most. For a while I thought there wasn't a point in telling anyone, but you reminded me that that's bullshit. Let's just get done what needs to be done, then if you'll listen, I'll tell you everything... you don't have to believe me, but... let's just go." With that, Nicky wordlessly passed him and headed to the brig, taking out a list she had of a few things that still needed to be done or checked on. As she said, if Anuli listened she'd tell him everything she knew: The blood seal, the job that led to her demotion, the erased memories, and the fact she used to have very different powers. She wouldn't ask for forgiveness, or even for him to believe everything. She just wanted to tell him every part of the whole truth she can, and hopefully in doing so he'll begin to understand why she kept all of it buried for so long. @FrontLine

Vienna was thankfully roused from her increasingly darkening thoughts be Kimirou entering, crinkling her nose at the odd, slightly overbearing scent surrounding him. Kehinde seemed to recognize this particular cologne and mention as such, and Vienna couldn't help but roll her eyes. She's never smelled a cologne or perfume she didn't hate, and would never wear anything like that if her life depended on it. Vienna has never understood the lengths many people go to look and smell good around others, perhaps because she was raised by the apathetic outcasts that make up the shadows and also partly because she's been entirely disinterested in romantic relationships as long as she can remember. Either way, she doubted she'd ever truly see the point in such frivolous things as making yourself smell nothing like a human being.

Vienna listened as Kimirou spoke, and thought for a second that he may have been listening in, or could read minds... but it seems he just had the same trepidation as she and Kehinde had about thier situation. Vienna nodded agreeably with Kehinde's reply to the newly arrived gambler, choosing to remain mostly silent as the boys essentially covered everything she'd think to say in response between themselves. To Vienna's surprise, after Kehinde had finished speaking to Kimirou for now, he turned to her and spoke words of concern, making it clear she was hiding her trepidation far less efficiently than she hoped she had been. "Oh, is it that obvious? I'm alright... there's nothing on my mind that doesn't seem to be on yours as well."
