Kehinde nodded as he heard Vienna’s response to his question. He could feel it himself the closer they got. Vienna then leapt to the front guiding them with every turn. It wasn’t long before they stumbled upon the intense battle taking place. They were just in time to see Margie get behind a guy with a knife to his neck, the opponent on the ground, and Rina. Kehinde’s eyes widened as they fell upon Rina. His heart began to race minute by minute. He hadn’t seen her since she abruptly left the scout faction almost three years ago. He wanted to call to her, but the words were not flowing for him to even greet her. No doubt seeing him would rekindle old feeling from the past. At least that’s what he hoped.

Standing there almost costed him his life. Darious shot past him and began trying to turn the tide. Kehinde rapidly shook his head in order to relieve himself of the thought’s from the past. He noticed that Darious seemed to have the upper hand at this point. Signs of a skilled hunter. Kehinde simply nodded in respect to Darious. Following that, he spoke to them calmly trying to de-escalate the problem.

Alright son, this is where you will learn a few new things. With you opponent distracted, they can't see into your eyes, so the next to kin is through sound. Step forward.” His Koumpi directed. Kehinde nodded and stepped forward passed Vienna as was told. “Then. You need to drain you mind of any and everything. Just like a blank canvas.” Doing as was told, he took a deep breath and cracked his neck, hands, and fingers. Following that, he stretched just a little. “Good now close your eyes and listen up.” Kehinde followed the directions of his Koumpi and closed his eyes. Immediately he began to feel a bit different. “What’s going on?” He questioned, “Just wait, I’m going to teach the first stage of your power. It’s called Illusionary arts. Your abilities have three or four stages to them. The second one being Perceptual Alfunun. We can move on unless you have mastered this art first.” His Koumpi explained. Kehinde nodded as he soaked in the information he was receiving. His then began to feel his soul essence change a little with each word his Koumpi spoke. “Good you are starting to feel yourself tapping into this power. Now immerse yourself into it.” Kehinde then began to see a reflection of himself. With a different set of eyes.

Before he could even question, his replica spoke, “Let me.” It ran to him with it’s hands out taking the original Kehinde by the throat and shoving him backwards. Kehinde’s eyes shot open and they had a very different look to them. “You have to tame the beast that lives inside son. I do apologize for having to do that, but it’s the only way I can get you to watch how it’s done. You rest easy and let me and your inner being handle this Make sure you pay attention.” His Koumpi calmly remarked. Kehinde’s soul essence then pulsed. His body then made a swift move toward Darious. He was trying to get in eye view of the person Margie was holding up. Once he got into position, he broke the silence with a stern phrase, “Illusionary Arts…” He slowly waved his right hand then bringing it to his chest. “Whispering Souls.” He finished. @Affili

The violet ring within his eyes began to form thick violet lines that led to the pupil. Then the lines began to swirl to a dilation and his soul essence pulsed. “Alright son this here is a very complexed illusion yet a beginners illusion. Very easy. What it does is it projects voices, or whispers rather, into the person’s head. Causing their mind to try and put faces to the voices they hear, so you begin to see things. Things you don’t see, things you have never seen before. The list goes on. This can be devastating for both opponents because they hear up to at least a thousand voices every five seconds. One voice after the other. Your brain can’t handle such a load so it gives out due to the taxing nature of the illusion. You have to stand by your craft or it won’t work I promise you that.” Kehinde replied, “Neat.” He smiled on the inside. “Don’t give out just yet your lesson isn’t over. Keep watching!

Kehinde then formed two more signs with his left hand and placed his right on his darts. "Basira." He commented. He then stepped to the side so that the others could have chance to turn the tide. "If someone is with you, always give them a chance." His Koumpi added. "I thought you said I can only use this when I'm sleepy." Kehinde interjected. "You can, but we don't we can use it at pivotal moments. Give it some time and you'll be as bad as us." His Koumpi replied. Kehinde's eyes then began to scan the opponents for any sudden moves. @DergTheDergon @Affili @babyjoker36610 @OwlOne

Shen

Shen's eyes sparkled as Niclaus ran past them. Niclaus, a Knight of the Roundtable, right in front of them in flesh and blood, had just addressed Shen! Turning to Rufus, he exclaimed, "RUFUS!!!! NICLAUS JUST SPOKE TO ME!!!!" His heart pounding, he said, "He even ordered us to do something! Ahhhh..." Sighing in a comical fashion, Shen waved his hand around, as if explaining something to a toddler. "You see, Rufus, Niclaus is a man of great prestige! Someone like him usually never interacts with the likes of us. He is pretty, smart, friendly, stro-"

Rufus cut Shen off. "Geez, I get it!" He said. "Let's get a move on!" Rufus turned away from Shen, an expression on his face that caused Shen to grin. Seeing a perfect opportunity to tease his beloved comrade, Shen walked up to Rufus, nudging him gently in the back. "Is someone... jealllllooouuus?" He asked with a sly smile, purposely drawing out the last word. When Shen thought about it, he had always been doting over Rufus. Maybe he did enjoy being treated that way, despite what he said? Rufus' face turned red, and he ignored Shen's question, choosing instead to run off in the direction Niclaus went. Shen watched Rufus as he ran, a sense of victory in his head and a bright smile on his face.

**

As Shen ran, just a little behind Rufus, he stopped as he saw Sora. A smirk on his face, he repeated the same thing Niclaus told them. "Pick up the pace, or we will have all the fun without you." With that comment, he continued running, feeling extremely excited to be able to fight alongside Niclaus. @Newtype

Rufus

As Rufus ran, he thought about Shen's last question, and the smirk on his face. A comical pout on his face, he told himself, "I'm not jealous... I just ...don't like the fact he is so close to those people from the other faction!" Nodding to himself as if he now had a clear understanding of what was going on, he looked ahead and ran faster. "Although..." Rufus looked behind him at Shen, who was running furiously to catch up. Rufus had to admit, however begrudgingly, he had gotten used to the way Shen liked Rufus more than any other team member, even if he wasn't jealous about it.

**

Up ahead, he saw Niclaus say something to Sora, then continue sprinting urgently. Rufus followed Niclaus not really knowing where Niclaus was going. Shen caught up to Rufus, running alongside him, an annoying smirk on his face. "What, did you win the lottery or something?" Rufus asked Shen as they followed Niclaus. Shen didn't respond, but the smirk on his face grew.

When Rufus saw the scene of clashing forces, his mouth dropped open, as did Shen's. The area that the three people had been fighting in was practically destroyed. "What the hell!?" Rufus shouted. "How does anyone have such power?!" Shen pointed at an unconscious figure. "That's the Seventh Knight of the Roundtable! Who could have done this to him?"

"WHAT?!" Rufus exclaimed in surprise. Two Knights of the Roundtable in one place?! What was going on? Looking at Niclaus, Rufus abandoned his restraint and yelled, "Damn! This is actually FUCKING insane! What the FUCK is going FUCKING on in this FUCKING prison?!" Putting an emphasis on each of his "Fuck" words, Rufus hoped to convey the insanity which lay before his eyes. @OwlOne

Sora felt someone coming, it was Niclaus so he quickly reappeared as Niclaus arrived. Sora replied to Niclaus "It was speed or subtlety." Then Niclaus went on ahead but Sora chose to wait and let the other two behind him go in so that they could be his distraction. To that end he didn't bother to reply to them and just let them go by before entering True Concealment and following. As they arrived to see Felix defeated and the two new guys expressing utter shock but Sora had no time for shock ironically.

Sora still in True Concealment walked along the edge of the room until he was behind the two brothers. He pulled out two kunai and charge them a little beyond the amount of energy they can withstand before dropping True Concealment and throwing them at the two brother. Then Sora began covered in an aura of lightning before using Raikinsi moving beyond the speed of sound with extra aid to his kinsi from his lightning before he threw more lightning infused kunai at the brothers. He wasn't interesting in talking and knew he just needed to defeat these two.

Rufus

Rufus breathed a heavy breath, then watched as a ninja suddenly started throwing what appeared to be lightning at the two people who were still standing in the battlefield. Shen looked at the ninja as well, his eyes lighting up. He put his fist in his palm, a look of understanding coming across his face. "I see! Felix was just faking it so that he could see how powerful we were!" Shen nodded to no one in particular.

Rufus almost laughed at Shen's statement. It helped Rufus calm down a little, watching Shen look satisfied with his own explanation of what was going on. "How dumb can my fearless leader get?" He asked himself. Turning to Shen, he told him, "No, I actually think something is wrong with that knight. Whatever that ninja is doing, we should probably assist him." Shen's face turned into an expression of protest. "No! I don't want to. He threw some lightning at me, that big meanie. For all we know, those two people could be good guys!"

Rufus wanted to point out that there was practically no way that those two were the 'good guys' if Shen observed the situation which lay before them, but he knew it would be to no avail. Sighing, he turned to Niclaus, whom he hoped would convince Shen to fight. "Can you please explain to my partner here what is going on? He seems rather... confused."

Czar took a few minutes to get to his feet. As he stood up, he couldn't do anything but laugh. "I'm sorry I know it's rather impolite to laugh when there isn't anything funny." He finally straightened up. "An old man can't get up like he used to these days. Award for best surprises go....." He mocked. "The fabulous Demolitionist." He finished. Following his statement, he quickly picked up on the new additions to the party. Feeling a slight pressure within his lower back meant they didn’t come to watch. So if it’s a show they want, then a show they will get. He had to evaluate the situation at hand here. There was no possible way of knowing how many had shown up. Turning around would surely prove to be fatal considering the one on the backside of him. He then had to remember his cellmate and his other ace in the hole. He brought his hands to his chin and rubbed it for a minute. His eyes then drifted over to his cellmate who was tied up at the moment. @Newtype

Vienna watched as the Renegade Shadow took the hits leveled at him by her teammates, Kehinde especially, and by her surprise took a while to get up. She flinched forward in a nearly automatic response to an enemy being in a compromised position before she stopped in her tracks seemingly not of her own will. 'No... against someone like him your best option is to act defensively of your team or yourself to get into the fray... this man embodies the shadow saying "Always be ready for everything." Vienna nodded, clenching her fists around her Scythe knowing he was right, but at the same time feeling a strong desire to fight alongside her teammates already charging into the fray. Vienna kept glancing towards the fight between Margie, the unfamiliar woman that seemed to be on her side, and the other inmate that was engaging them. Thankfully, they seem to have distracted Czar's attention from the girls, most likely prolonging thier lives quite a bit.

Vienna's eyes widened in shock as the mysterious inmate countered Margie's attack flawlessly, seeming to leave her down for the count. Gripping her scythe even more tightly now, she glanced around for entrance points to that area of the room and locked her wandering eyes on a shadow cast on wall wall by a light just behind where Rina currently was.
'No, you need to focus on the more prominent threat here. She's a Knight, remember. She'll be fine.' Taking a deep breath, Vienna reluctantly turned her attention back towards Czar, watching his every movement observing the fluctuations in his soul essence. Suddenly, she felt an extreme spike in his soul essence as he began pulling and holding the shadow from the nearest light as he concentrated on his essence, seeming to line up a dead technique. Vienna's eyes widened once again.

"..Is that-" "Yes. Firing squad. You recall how to disarm it, I hope?" "Of course." "Good. Timing it is crucial. I will say when." Nodding, Vienna began to focus intensely on Czar's manipulation of the shadow, taking into account the shadow on the floor in front of her comrades she plans to step to the moment of her strike, then her eyes darting towards the patch of shadows shadow behind Czar she also needed to keep in mind to pull this off. Bringing her scythe into sweeping position with both of her hands, and listening intently for her Koumpis words, she took a deep breath to prepare herself.

Mere seconds before the word "fire" was uttered from Czar's mouth, the word '
Now!' Echoed sharply in Vienna's mind. Vienna leaped into action, shadow stepping right into the firing squad's Trajectory, squatting whilst she latched onto the shadows with her soul essence, swinging her scythe in a wide arc, spreading the shadows in the air as she did so to collide with the bullets. The one weakness of the Firing Squad is contact with other shadow-bashed attacks, stopping the bullets midair. The trajectory of the bullets was so wide that some stray projectiles most likely made it though, but she didn't have time to see where they went before she teleported to a shadow on the other side Czar in order to hopefully negate an immediate counterattack from the Renegade, as well as keep up her element of surprise in this fight. @OwlOne @FrontLine @Affili @babyjoker36610

Of course it was not going to be that easy. It never was that easy and Darious was starting to feel as though he should start killing folks first then asking questions later. Margie's assailant was in such close proximity to her it would be unwise to fire at the guy given the chance of it hitting Margie. Perhaps killing without hesitation had its benefits.

As if reading his thoughts an airy chuckle emanated from his Koumpi

'Seems like your reasons and morals are causing you some grief Boy. But Before you decide to argue with me, maybe you should pay attention. The air around the Czar is stirring. Can you not feel it?'

'Seems kind of stupid for him to try anything considering there's a gun pressed into his back.' Darious replied

'Born of the shadows, one with the shadows. His technique is already ready. Oh you've much to learn Darious, Much to learn. Now, let some of me out so that I can keep us alive.'

Without further protest, Darious increased his soul essence and was suddenly more attuned with the wind's currents and its passings between the corridors and openings the groups were confined to.

'Wind young Darious, is all around you, and oh the secrets it carries upon it. The subtle changes in someone or somethings position. A person's very breath. It all stirs the winds about them. If you fire a bullet into the wind, does it not carry it, redirect it?' His Koumpi's voice seemed to echo all around him, its airy whispers Bouncing from wall to wall. It echoed off of, Margie, Rina, Opal, Lance and even Czar himself. He could feel them all.

A few moments later Czar Unleashed his technique, with something so simple as the word "Fire".

It would have been the end of him right there, had it not been for Vienna's intervention. Shadow to shadow, she was able to diffuse the dead shadow technique. At least most of it anyway. He felt the stray projectiles as they sped towards him. Firing squad seemed to have such a wide spread it was next to impossible for Vienna to hit every single one.

Darious reaction time had been increased slightly thanks to his Koumpi's little impromptu lesson. It was not much, but yet still enough for him to avoid the few projectiles that came his way with subtle and quick movements he didn't even recall executing. The pirate watched as the firing squad bullets chewed into the ground around him, he felt the others as they bit into the srrounding walls as well.

Vienna was gone as fast as she had appeared, returning to the shadowy alcoves of the prison walls which unfortunately left nothing between Czar and Darious so he was right back in the line of fire again.

'More' his Koumpi's voice purred 'Feel it.' Its words were almost hypnotic and Darious let his soul essence rise even further as his eyes fell upon Czar once more.

With a blur of a gesture, Darious swept his hand out then upwards before bringing it back against his body, disrupting the winds around and beneath Czar as he floated there in an attempt to make him unstable, while bringing a forceful gust of wind from above in an attempt to ground the renegade. Darious envisioned the gust of wind as a solid, wall of wind slamming down on top of the prisoner as he executed his movements and he felt it grow more dense as it fell towards Czar.

Kimirou could feel the clashing of several soul essences as the group approached their destination. Kimirou watched in awe as the others intervened with the fight. Kimirou stood behind a corner to a hall, peering around it to view the whimsical things his team was doing. Then came the word “Fire” and there was Vienna blocking the bullets of a technique Kimirou knew all too well. He then blinked and once again everything was like he was seeing it through a thermal camera. Everyone has heat registers except for Margie. “Where the hell did she go?” Kimirou thought to himself. “Do you see that mass that seems just cool?” His koumpi asked. “Yeah behind that woman that was fighting alongside her.” He responded. “That is Margie. As she is in her aqua state, her thermal readings are that of regular room temperature water as it is.” Kimirou noded in agreement. He then noticed that Darious’ thermal register began fluctuating. “His abilities are causing his thermal register to change with the flow of the wind.” She once again spoke. “Yeah and his soul essence is rising as well. He really can’t be trying to…”

All of a sudden Kimirou became distracted as the whole halls thermal register began to cool. “Look at your left hand.” His koumpi guided. Kimirou did as was told. His left hand was pressed against the wall and ice was growing from it. “I’m not doing this.” He confusingly responded. “Actually you are. You are subconsciously guiding the ice to cool the room. This is due to the anticipation you have to join the fight. Your soul essence is becoming antsy and eager. If you want to join that bad just jump in.” Kimirou rolled his eyes at his koumpi’s remarks. Kimirou didn’t like just jumping into things. He like to strategize before getting into anything. He learned this from his father and had come accustomed to thinking before reacting. However, he wanted to break away from the way his father's thought.

Kimirou walked from around the corner slowly revealing himself. He withdrew two dice from his right pocket and placed one in each hand. Kimirou then threw the dice. One went toward the shadow that was producing the bullets, the other towards the enemy. Kimirou then crouched down and placed his left palm onto the ground beneath him. He then balled his right fist and extended his middle and index fingers, holding it in front of his chin, the tip of his fingers in front of his lips. The first die going towards the shadow, hit it and formed an ice barrier as long as the shadow itself, the other hit the ground beneath the enemy shadow. At that moment Kimirou quickly uttered the words, “Bloom and blossom with great strength, show my enemy ways to weep. Perfume, cologne, fragrant power, thy enemy's will shall be devoured.” The die then formed into a flower and produce a plethera of ice shards being projected at the man. Kimirou continued. “Chreosi Gamma: Ptó̱si̱ pentál tou lo̱toú” Suddenly vines of ice began to run along the floor starting from Kimirou’s left palm and traveling towards the flower below the man. Once connected to that flower, several flowers began to produce from the vines. The all opened simultaniously producing a gas into the air.

Kimirou the blew at the tips of his fingers and a icy breeze began to fill the hall hardening the gas produced by the flowers making it into a peasoup fog as he has done many times before. With this addition, Kimirou hoped to manipulate the gas so it wouldn’t affect his teammates. “Great job thinking on your feet Kimirou. You not only attacked your enemies but also gave your teammates an advantage with this fog as it is a poisinous fog as well as a cover for them. What are you going to do next?” Kimirou just shrugged his shoulders at the puzzling question. “We will see as I am not on my own. I have my friends with me.” With that Kimirou smiled as he never thought he would be able to say “his friends” in his life. @DergTheDergon @FrontLine @Affili @OwlOne

Shen

Shen gave himself a silent pat on the back when he saw his plan had succeeded. He was willing to act stupid if it was in order to calm Rufus down. That's what comrades are for, right? Shen smiled to himself, happily thinking about his team. Even if they all lacked determination, they were very kind to each other and worked well together. Except for Rufus, of course, but Shen planned on changing that through their current mission. He needed to teach Rufus the value of teamwork, even if Rufus was the smartest of the group.

He was about to turn to Niclaus and reask the question Rufus had just asked for him, but one of the two people that had been standing next to the unconscious knight called out to them. Turning around, he looked into the eyes of the person whom had just addressed them. Better play it safe for now, Shen thought. Trying to act as confused as possible, he cocked his head and asked, "Why do we need to know that? Is there something important about there two being over there?" Shen cast a sideways glance at Rufus, hoping he would understand that Shen was trying to deceive the two people into thinking they were a minor threat.

Rufus

Rufus sighed. Shen was always asking dumb questions, never pausing to think about them. Turning to Shen, he muttered, "Uh... Shen. They are our enemies. I think they just want our attention." Turning back to the twins he called back, "Be there in a jiffy!"

Rufus then turned to Niclaus. So far, he hadn't said anything, which was starting to annoy Rufus. He had already asked a couple of questions, and he wanted to know the answers to them before charging into battle. However, it seemed like Niclaus wasn't in much of a giving mood, so instead Rufus just pointed at Niclaus. "Yo, strong and silent much? You better answer that question when this battle is over." With that, he removed his glasses and charged into battle to assist the ninja, ignoring Shen's calls to come back.

When he reached the twin, he immediately launched his first attack, trying to get the advantage of the first strike on his opponent. "Pouncy Run." Rufus muttered, then quickly jumped forward, slashed a couple times at the person (He also tried to snag and steal anything he could,) and jumped back. He needed to get a clear understanding of the man's powers before he did anything drastic. "Creating stupid names for my moves really does help," Rufus mused, grinning slightly. @Newtype

Kehinde slid to the back with his eyes locked and ready. In this state, he was ready for anything all the way down to when someone took a deep breath. This state of his simat al’usra was on of the prized techniques of the Akachi. This aided in getting out of tight situations and covering of blind spots otherwise not revealed to a keen eye. “With theses eyes, nothing can get passed you.” He then noticed the change in the enemies demeanor. His eyes instinctively squinted so he could possibly read the next move. He then noticed how the enemy twitched his fingers in order to produce something. From his standpoint, it was unclear as to what he was going to do next. “Pay close attention son. As you can see, while you are in this vision, you are reading his moves. You know he’s planning to do something.” Kehinde smiled, “I was well aware of what was going on. Now watch me work.” His koumpi chuckled, “Oh? Want to take the wheel huh?” Kehinde returned, “Well of course. I’m more of a hands-on type of person. I don’t like watching.” His Koumpi paused a moment before responding. It was trying to weigh out the pros and cons. Finally coming to a decision it spoke, “Alright. I suppose you’re right. I’ll be in your left ear while you inner self will be in your left. Together we will guide you along your road to great. Now. Take the wheel!” Exhaling, Kehinde felt the feeling of his body once again. He never thought he would miss the feeling of his body, but when you’re not in control of it, feelings change.

Kehinde quickly snapped out of his reunion and adjusted to the situation at hand. He didn’t get a chance to catch what the guy spoke about, but he just in time to catch the Shadow prepare his next attack. “Alright, Kehinde. Notice how your enemy moves when his soul essence starts to rise. Then watch how his demeanor flips.” Kehinde nodded, “I also see which fingers he uses when he’s about to cook up something.” As soon as Kehinde came to, he heard the shadow utter the words, “Fire.” It wasn’t until then, that Vienna countered the attack with ease. Kehinde then picked up on the patterns of which the enemy was using. “So you see it huh?” His Koumpi asked, “Yes. When he uses that technique, he seems to be unable to produce another. He basically a sitting duck.” He then began to feel the air around him speed up as if someone had turned on a fan. He looked over to Darious and saw he was starting to hop into this. Following that, he saw Kimirou slide in with his icy fog. A smile slid across Kehinde’s face as he took note to how well his team was working together.

Immersing himself within the fog, his eyes began to emit a dull violet colored haze. The swirl within them slowly began to spin, “Alright, your eyes are letting you know it’s ready for the next go. At this time, now would be a good time to toy with your opponent. He can’t see you, but you can see him.” Kehinde questioned, “What do I say?” Shushing him, his Koumpi returned, “Start with what you saw.” Kehinde stopped once he was completely engulfed within the fog. Somehow the konsido was not affecting him at all. *Press Play*“A wise man takes to the sky to avoid the danger that lies below him,” He spoke. “Is that what you do in order to get out of a tight situation? From the moment you twitched your finger, I saw your intentions and your next move. You have a precise 5-second window to replenish your soul essence. A skilled hunter indeed. So you create a distraction to keep your opponent at bay. From prior experience with your former faction, I can assume you’ll follow up with a devastating blow?” He then through his voice to Vienna, “Am I right?” His Koumpi then spoke, “Gathered all that from just one look? Impressive. Now we are going to use this fog that your teammate so kindly put out to toy with your opponent’s vision as well as hearing.@OwlOne @DergTheDergon

Kehinde nodded and began to listen. “Remember it’s all about faith within your craft. Right, hand up!” Doing as was told Kehinde brought his right hand up. “Spread your feet apart just a hair.” His Koumpi instructed. Kehinde did so. “Good now place your right hand over your left eye. Let that eye be able to see through the openings of your fingers.” Kehinde then brought his right hand and placed it onto his left eye. As he did so, he began to flash back to the training he and his Father use to partake in. “Let the rest flow son.” His eyes began to swirl to a dilation and the illumination within his eyes died down. He then took his left hand and placed it behind his back. Whilst it was back there, he made a fist, then the number four, then he crossed his finger as if he was breaking a promise.

He then separated the fingers on his right hand so his eye was revealed. “Illusionary arts, Moonlight vigil.” At that moment, his soul essence pulsed within him and his dilated eyes began to swirl. “So you remember this technique. The moonlight vigil illusion. A beginner yet advanced technique. This illusion allows for the caster to weave the opponent’s take as to what they see. Since fog is involved, he'll probably see a forest. With the moon sitting high up into the sky. Follow the moon, and you’ll make it back to where you need to be. Should the moon set, the opponent will never again be able to see. All they will see it that moon over and over again. That make two battles they have to fight now, you guys and time.” Kehinde then question, “How does that help us?” His Koumpi replied, “It's all left up to you and your teammates. They can only see what they think they see. Making it almost impossible to land an attack.” Taking in what his Koumpi explained, Kehinde watched intently to see any sudden changes in his enemy. @Affili @babyjoker36610 @DergTheDergon @OwlOne

It took Sora a moment to realize who these two brothers were, ninja he knew when he was a up and coming from his younger years. He had known them since he first took the title Raitei, but they hadn't parted last on the best of notes. Not to mention they were responsible for the slaughter of his clan. Sora didn't answer their questions but instead considered just awakening right now. "Rai-" Sora began before his koumpi cut him off. "No! Not yet, do not give in to their provocation but do not clear you mind either. Channel these feelings of yours, do not let them cloud your mind." Sora groaned "You ask alot of me." The Raikouryuu replied "Well get ready because I will be asking more of you in this battle. For now get their attention on you, when you start getting tired tagm out with the other two then blind side the brothers with you're awakening." Sora felt this would be a good strategy and proceeded to set it in motion.

"Hey! Who's fault was it that I was placed in such a position anyway?" Sora asked referring to how one of them brought up the time he had leaked information on a sensitive operation. Sora prepared his next attack and it was almost as if his koumpi took over. "Raikouken no yari!" Sora announced as he thrust his fist forward and a larger fist of lightning rocketed forth from his arm towards the brothers with the arm to split them up. "Tsuin Kaminari Tanken!" He said as he drew to kunai and charged them with lightning. He didn't even have to throw them as they flew from his hand one going for each brother. "Bakudan!" He said as the daggers neared their targets causing them to explode in a blast of lightning.

"Huff....hufff....huff...huff...." Rina panted as she slowly brought her hands to a resting position, "Whew! Took just about everything I had." She continued. Bringing her head up from safety, was Margie. She did this out of instinct so she wouldn't see herself die. "Couldn't have fooled me.” She slowly rose to her feet, holding her side. Rina turned around to see if Margie was alright, but was met with a startling sight. Her best friend or her big sis was injured. She ran over with a concerned look on her face, “Dear Council you’re hurt.” Margie chuckled nonchalantly to lessen the mood, “Who? Me? Ahh, it’s no big deal. I’m the fifth knight of the round.” She winced a bit from the pain. “Stop that Em,” Rina interjected pulling off her Hiringu coat. “Let me get you all fixed up.” She then called out, “Paige!” An outline of a person on the wall formed following the call. “Yes, ma’am is it safe to come out?” She asked. Nodding Rina swiftly waved her hand for Paige to rush over. Doing as instructed, Paige came out of true concealment and quickly made her way over to the two. To her surprise, she saw a very injured Margie and a teary eyed Rina. Without words, Paige kneeled down, made a small drawing in the ground next to her, and said an inaudible phrase. A light then emitted from the drawing. A metallic looking briefcase formed from the bright light and the light died down. “I’ll need her to take a seat,” Paige observed. “You know…” Margie was interrupted by Rina, “Sit.” Margie sighed and did as was told and Paige reached over to have a look at the area of pain.

*Press Play* Once Margie showed them where the pain was Paige and Rina both shook their heads. Margie had a nasty bruise that possibly signaled internal bleeding as well as a broken or fractured rib. “I can only do something about the pain for right now and maybe stop the bleeding, which isn’t that bad, but until you can get to her, there really isn’t much I can do.” Paige remarked to Rina. In turn, Rina rubbed her face in frustration after hearing the call Paige had made. Thoughts of her not having the adequate amount of soul essence as well as not having the ample time to handle this weighed heavy. “Do what you can hun,” Her soft voice resonated, “I’m sure you’ll be fine. I’ll be right here keeping watch over you guys until you finish up.” She finished. To be honest, Rina wasn’t prepared to see the one she looked up to in this condition. She was so used to seeing Margie always ready, always in control, always….strong. But now, she was vulnerable and injured. Margie noticed the upset just by stealing a glance at Rina. She could tell all this was getting to her again just like in the past. “I’m not dying you know…” Margie declared in hopes of helping Rina. Shaking her head and looking away, she replied, “I know….I just…” Margie finished her sentence, “Just can’t see me like this I know. Think about it this way. It happened to me and not you.” She smiled. “And that’s supposed to make it okay?” Rina angrily returned.

Sighing Margie tried to rethink her response. She knew she had upset Rina, but wanted her to realize that things happen that are beyond their control, “I didn’t mean it like that.” Quickly firing back Rina retorted, “Well you said it! And that’s not how I feel about it.” Her voice then changed from an angry tone to a softer tone, “I’m not angry at you. I’m just beside myself because I couldn’t even protect the one person I looked up to. You were hurt on my watch and that’s something I can’t deal with right now.” Margie winced once again and looked at Paige when she hit a painful spot. Paige quietly apologized and continued on. Margie then asserted, “No don’t do that to yourself. That attitude caused you to miss out and step down as the next Third Knight instead of Gaia.” Rina sighed, “That was different. I wasn’t ready for a life like that. I mean look at you now all hurt and stuff.” Margie smiled a little, “Can’t say I regret the life, though. I’ve had my share of worse injuries than this. Let me tell you haha.” Not even cracking a smile, Rina rejoined, “How are you able to laugh after you have been injured.” The smile on Margie’s face slowly left as she began to open her mouth for a response, “It because over the years I’ve learned to take losses in stride. Being a hunter comes with its shares of victories and losses. Being a hunter and Knight definitely heightens that margin. That was something you couldn’t quite understand when you were recommended for the position of Third Knight. To this very day, we still talk about how you would have made an exceptional Knight. Even Gaia agrees. It was you dream no doubt, but you let your doubts and fears get to you and as a hunter you have to learn how to handle your fears. Hell each one of us looks fear in the face on a day to day basis, but we still do what we do. Do I hate being injured? Yes, who doesn’t? Am I afraid of being gravely injured? Hell yeah! But it’s all apart of what I do and how I live. You’re going to have to learn that.

Rina listened to Margie’s response and began to reflect on her decision to step down as a candidate for the Third Knight position. In all actuality Margie was right, it was her dream. She made it all the way to the top three and at the last minute choked. Who knew after four years her decision would still haunt her to this day. Margie words ranged so true to Rina that she didn’t even have anything to say to trump it. So she just looked away. Margie slowly smiled once again and looked her own way and continued to allow Paige to work on her. “Paige…” Rina warned feeling something coming. “I know I feel it too. I’m almost finished.” She replied. Rina nodded and began to raise to her feet.

Niclaus was so shocked at the sight of Felix, he didn't even acknowledge the fact that not only the twins but the thieves spoke to him. Suddenly the flute finally hit the ground. He noticed the sound was more of a vibration than something hitting the ground. "He couldn't be." Niclaus thought to himself. Suddenly, he was broken out of his trance in time to see Sora engaging both the twins with an attack. The twin that was still facing Sora placed both his hands in front of his chest in a prayer formation. The man then split his hands and bent down with one leg in front and his arms stretched up above his being like a bird bowing. Simultaneously he spoke the word "Rainku." A shield of lightning lifted from the ground in between him and Sora. The enlarged fist of lightning hit the shield of lightning and was absorbed.

As the Kunai passed through the shield they were also drained of their electric power. As the man rose, the shield sank back into the ground. The other twin that was facing the thieves then looked at the Kunai traveling towards his brother. He uttered the word "Trajectory" An arrow appeared on the floor a few feet closer, but still in between Sora and the twin he was closest to. The arrow was facing the other kunai, and as the kunai traveled the arrows point was locked onto it. Once the first Kunai passed over the arrow, it changed directions and began traveling towards the other kunai. The two kunai clashed and one fell to the ground, the remaining one began its course towards the thief named Rufus. The twin that summoned the shield brought his attention back to Sora. "Really? Did you forget we are the two that ended your clan? The two true ninja? The Copy Cat twins. We know techniques of your family that you haven't even discovered yet." He smiled tauntingly. Suddenly Felix's eyes shot open and they were vibrating at an almost unnoticeably fast. @Newtype @Edric Yuma

Meanwhile, back at the hole in the prison wall, an indigo colored smoky swirl appeared out of nowhere and filled it. A young woman with black and gray pigtails stepped out of the portal wearing a school uniform. "I really can't believe you are still complaining." She irritatedly remarked looking back into the portal. Stepping behind the young girl was a familiar individual. The first thing that showed was the iconic Omada boot that they wore when going on excruciating missions. Following that, was a man who seemed to have his mind on other things as always. He was wearing the blue outlined insignia coat, which meant he was the blue Omada. Business as usual. “Now is the time to be alert Vex. We will discuss this on a later occasion.” He finished fully stepping out of the portal. After that, he brought two fingers midway between his chest and chin. He closed his eyes and uttered the phrase, “Noimosyni Base….Aktinon Ch.” His eyes shot open and he was able to see the soul essence that were near. “It seems that they are engaged in various battles. Prisoners seem to be a bit restless.” He explained. The girl waved her hand towards the portal as if telling someone to come on but continued to talk to the man. "You are not changing the subject. How dare you talk about my portals like that? Tell me." She screamed in not only a more irritated voice but a more irritatingly whiny one as well. “I’m not trying to change the subject I’m just more focused on the task at hand. Now please be quiet.” the man replied. Sensing something strange about the position they were standing in. @Pretzel Heart

Being as skilled as he was, he knew it was a bit too easy to just enter on this side with nothing to guard it. He was sure it wasn’t an exit, but more of an entrance of sorts. “The enemy must have been expecting us.” He thought to himself. "Ok then," She exclaimed matter of factly. The girl then looked at the man's feet with her white and black swirled eyes. A small portal opened beneath his feet and he fell in. Shortly after, a small portal opened in the roof above it. The man fell from the portal on the roof and back into the one in the floor. When he appeared again the girl spoke. "How do you like my portals now? After this, you will definitely be used to them." Then he continued to fall from the roof portal only to enter the floor portal. Finally getting motion sickness from the continuous falling, the man made himself fall to the left in order to get out of the latter portal. Hitting the ground with a nasty thud, he rolled into a wall face first.

As Czar began to descend from the air, he could feel a sudden change in the air around him. Seeing this change, he looked down to the one who was moving, “Damn.” He thought to himself. Then on cue, another one of them flawlessly countered his technique. He winked, “I knew it.” Next thing he knew he saw the girl shoot over to the wall like the classic shadow would. Never be seen when initiating a counter attack, classic shadow way. Czar was planning to square off with the shadow, but the sudden change in the air was throwing him completely off. Following that, another one of the group threw dice down which then sprouted and sent thorns at him.

*Press Play* Quickly thinking, he dropped his own soul essence and rapidly descended from the sky. He performed a backhand spring to create distance between him and the ones he was dealing with. When he rose up, a misty fog was upon him. “You have got to be kidding!” He looked back at his cellmate and figured he was still caught up within the trick one of them performed. “Opal I’m going to need you to snap out of it!” He yelled. Opal was unable to return with an answer so Czar was on his own. If things weren’t getting any worse, one of them spoke to him. They went on trying to pinpoint his next moves. Czar was caught off guard because he never knew someone could read as well as Lance. He was going to respond, but his vision began to waver a little. His soul essence pulsed along with another and he began to hear strange things. “What the….” Czar then distinctly heard a murmur come from Opal's direction. When he heard this, he looked back in distress. At first Opal was fine, the next second his face looked as if it was melting off. "Have I finally gone batshit," Czar exclaimed.

Shaking his head, he looked back toward the group he was dealing with. He then saw a foggy forest. “Where’d they go?” He questioned. Czar noticed movement within some of the bushes next to him. Instinctively, he attacked. He stomped his foot and made the ground crack and break up in reality. The debris from the ground slowly floated in the air as if it had zero gravity. Thinking he was attacking something else, he swiftly brought his feet together, placed his right hand behind his back, and with his right created a fist which made the rock began to close in, in an attempt to crush whatever it was he was seeing. Along the breeze of the wind a chilling voice could be heard, "Wasting your time on this Darious? I thought the real goal was to come find me Grandson. Its about time we had a talk. Better hurry." @Affili @DergTheDergon @babyjoker36610 @FrontLine

Good morning folks who are joining us on another beautiful day of the Kunina. We have some breaking news this morning coming about a couple of miles southwest of Fountain Canal. We are having cell phone footage of appears to be a prison break attempt on the island which houses the place of Destirdere. If you aren’t familiar of what this place is, then allow me to tell you. Destirdere houses some of most vile criminals that ever walked the U.S. soil. It’s not to be confused with its counterpart which happens to be located on an unknown spot in the Atlantic. It’s rumored that the copycat twins, bloodbeard, and the Blackhole generator is in there not to long transferred from the big house. Don't be alarmed folks we don't have much information at this time. As soon as we get any, we will break into broadcast and provide it to you. We have crews heading over there as we speak. In the meantime lock your doors and hide your children. Watch us and stay tuned here at the Kuninas.” -Elisha

Kehinde watched in awe as he saw his craft take affect on his opponent. He wanted to jump for joy being it was the first time he actually used any of these types of techniques on someone. Kehinde had to remain calm in order to keep the illusion strong. Maybe later on in the future he will be able to cast them and be mobile as well because standing in one spot isn’t the best idea. Kehinde was starting to see what it was the shadow was seeing. He was manipulating the shadows take on what he saw. Kehinde wasn’t that advanced yet with illusions so he didn’t know he could control everything within the mirage. “Listen up. Now you have him trapped with the illusion. He is in your domain. As you can see he isn’t aware of it yet so he thinks he’s else where. This is still a beginners illusion so it will be easy to see through it being the level of skill he has.” Kehinde looked to his teammates, “Understood anything I need to do?” He questioned. “Yes, keep it going. Remember it’s what you produced. Have to make it believable. For example make him think something is happening around him.

Kehinde scoffed and a determined look fell upon his face. Kehinde rose his soul essence just a tad. His eyes began to swirl a bit more rapidly. He then moved his left hand from behind his back and took a single step. In the same breath, he moved his right hand to the back. With his right hand, he made pushed up to fingers, brought them in, and made a five open palm. “Just like in training with you father.” Kehinde then took his right foot and swept it across in front of him as if he were making a dividing line. Doing this created a minor change within the image the guy was seeing. Kehinde made the bushes ruffle a bit, which to his surprise, caused the guy to react to it. This was not what Kehinde expected. He countered, stomping the ground with such force. When he did, the rock slowly floated in the air as if they were going in slow motion. “Get ready, he’s about to make them come at you and your teammates. He doesn’t know what it is he’s attacking.” His Koumpi explained. Kehinde blinked his eyes and was able to see the guy create a fist. He figured that it would cause the rocks to do something so he prepared for himself to get out of dodge.

Just like he suspected the rocks began to close in on them as if he were trying to crush them. Kehinde dove under one of them, threw down a few sharp expoloding spikes down, and jumped on the next rock. He then used kinsi and appeared just behind the guy. “Way to go! Using basira like a true Akachi would.” His Koumpi praised. Kehinde smiled a little knowing he was starting to slowly get the hang of his abilities. He knew he didn’t have much time so he needed to get back into illusion before the guy snapped out of it. “Alright, so you’re behind him now. The best place to be although bad place to be cornered.” Kehinde agreed, “Right Dad always said the best illusions come when you aren’t seen, but the ultimate one come when they can’t keep up.” His Koumpi was going to respond, but he was starting to grow proud of the young man. He was starting to get into his abilities and feel them out well. His Koumpi hoped his Grandfather was watching him grow up and become who he was supposed to be.

Assuming everyone was alright, Kehinde called out to them, “You guys over here! If I can keep this up, He won’t be able to stand a chance against us. Right now we have the upper hand.” He suggested. Not taking any more time, Kehinde spread his feet apart just a hair like before. He threw his left hand behind his back once again and began to make a 3 then a half-closed fist. Doing so would cause the guy to see apparitions of Kehinde and his teammates thus making him think he is actually fighting them when he really isn’t. His eyes swirled to a dilation then his soul essence pulsed. He kept one eye ready in case he started to notice any changes in the guys demeanor. One thing didn’t sit well with Kehinde though. What was the purpose of these guys trying to stop them? Were they trying to hide something? Are they stalling? His suspicions were confirmed when a disembodied voice spoke to Darious talking about he was who he really was looking for. Kehinde furrowed his eyebrow, “So that’s what this is huh?” He thought to himself. “We need to try and find Margie and the others soon,” He added watching his opponent. @DergTheDergon @babyjoker36610 @Affili @OwlOne

Vienna turned around and crouched within the shadows nearby, observing thier relentless assault on Czar, piling technique on technique and seeming to disorient the Renegade with every subsequent use of abilities. Kehinde especially seemed to do a number on his mind, but the Renegade's soul essence was potent as ever. It seemed to be only a matter of time before Czar composed himself, and perhaps even the one he calls Opal to snap out of his current state. Despite this, Vienna couldn't help but feel proud of thier teamwork. They were all ready to follow up the moment she shadow stepped in and countered Czar's Firing Squad technique. seeming to sense her caution slipping, her Koumpi spoke up sternly. "Yes, it's all very impressive, but don't get complacent. Remember, Czar isn't the true enemy here, the mission is to neutralize Bloodbeard. Bloodbeard could kill Czar without breaking a sweat, not to mention a group of apprentices. You do feel his soul essence, don't you? Czar is distracted now... a true shadow knows when falling back and regrouping is the best tactic. It isn't cowardly in a situation like this. Finding the rest of your allies, complete with two Knights of the Round, is the wisest tactic here."

"I know... but part of me feels as though, regardless, abandoning this fight is cowardly when Czar is-" Listen to what you're saying, young Shadow," Vienna's Koumpi interjected. "You are allowing blind pride, ego, and morals to seep through your decisions. The mission always comes first. If not now, you may have the chance to defeat Czar or your own someday, you'll only get stronger from here. The window for falling back is only getting smaller. Bloodbeard is the largest threat, and your objective. Czar is only a distraction now, if an extremely dangerous one." Vienna fell silent for a moment, considering his words as she continued to observe the actions of the others, Kehinde's illusion still having a tight grip on Czar's mind but him slowly resisting it, initiating a powerful attack even if it was just towards the ground and none of her friends. Afterwards, his soul essence didn't seem to recede all all despite the force and power of the technique, seeming to drive her Koumpi's point home. If that wasn't enough, she felt a chill in the air and a disturbance in Darious' soul essence. "That was bloodbeard speaking to him, no doubt about it... taunting him. Your name is whisper for a reason, girl. You need to warn the others to fall back."

Feeling Kehinde's soul essence fluctuate more and more by the second, most likely manipulating his illusion to keep Czar busy, Vienna heeded her Koumpi's order and began to concentrate, sending a whisper to the ears of each companion surrounding Czar. "As much I hate to say this team, I think we should pull back from this one while we have a chance. Regroup with the others. I have a feeling this is just a distraction, and we'd be better off focusing our efforts on who we came here for." After saying her eerie, wispy piece to the others, she glanced over to Darius for his reaction to these words, giving him a questioning glance if he looked towards her as a silent way of asking for his confirmation. He was the one who steered them here to begin with, and if any of the others were iffy on regrouping and trying to find bloodbeard perhaps he could help persuade them. @Affili @FrontLine @babyjoker36610 @OwlOne

Darious was vaguely aware of the other prisoner's locations in reference to Czar's. One of them seemed locked in an episode similar to how Felix behaved at times so he was no longer a threat to them. At least no longer an immediate threat. The larger man had came and gone quickly, following Czar's orders without question and Darious had to leave it to Margie and the others to keep themselves alive. The whole group was playing a dangerous game right now. This place, this was the prisoner's turf and they undoubtedly knew the area far better than Darious and the others. How long had they been planning this breech? How had they even orchestrated it without help from the inside? The pirate wondered to himself as he watched Czar succumb to Kehinde's illusion along with everyone else's contributions. Even with his sensitivity to the winds, it was only a rough map of their surrounding area. He had discerned they were in a cell block that was centrally located with several smaller ones branching out on four sides. It was a larger block from what the wind had told Darious, the perfect place for these three prisoners to set up their ambush.

Czar seemed to be attacking blindly right now. and Darious saw perhaps their only opportunity to put him down. A man of his skill would not take long to figure the illusion out.

He heard Vienna's whispers of regrouping for now and although he could not see or feel her at that moment, Darious could still feel her eyes fall curiously upon him. They too had heard Blood Beard's voice as he insisted that Darious come to find him.

'I truly never did enjoy how Cornelius' Koumpi felt. It's disturbing even to me...Only slightly though' Darious' Koumpi commented with a raspy chuckle.

'I take it you all know each other somehow?'

'It's complicated. Put it this way, Cornelius's grandfather was the patriarch of this bloodline, and his grandmother, the matriarch of her bloodline. Just as the seasons cycle, so too does the potency of the bloodlines. Often Skipping a generation. Perhaps I'll explain it to you in detail another time. Right now you need to bring down these meat shields so we can focus on your dear grandfather. I wonder though, will you kill them?'

'No Koumpi... I see no point in ending their lives, I doubt I could anyway!' Darious responded flatly.

'Do you now? I'd beg to differ.' Another sinister chuckle then it continued 'in the mean time, You should have pinpointed Cornelius' general location just now. I know I did.

'Yeah something about how the breeze that carried his voice felt. I feel like I could kinisi-'

'Windstep...Boy...Windstep should be your variation to the basic Kinisi.'
His Koumpi interjected sternly then added.

'Perhaps later you and the wind shall move as one...Perhaps'

'Well whatever you wanT to call it, I feel like I could Windstep to his general location.'

'Oh no. Not yet child. For now you could possibly use Kinisi to get there, but he'd feel you coming from miles away.'

'OK fine whatever. I'll use Kinisi to get there. But first, these guys need to become less of a resistance.

'Less of a distraction you mean.'
it purred.

Feeling his Koumpi's presence retract into his mind once more, Darious sighed. His focus returned to the scene in front of him as the random boulders Czar had intended to hit them with were were halted by Kehinde's spikes.

'It's now or never I guess' he thought to himself as the pirate focused on the wind once more, not wanting to raise his soul essence further out of fear of obstructing Kehinde's illusion too soon.

He leveled his pistol on Czar. He would use the wind to guide his shot for a hopefully nonlethal shot that would most definitely knock a person unconscious. He adjusted his aim ever so slightly to graze Czar's temple.

As long has Kehinde remained where he was, the bullet would graze Czar's temple, and chew into a wall just to the side of Kehinde. Darious held his breath and his eyes slid to Kehinde. From Kehinde's position, it would look like the pistol was pointed at him as well as the prisoner. Darious watched intently as the breeze caressed Czar's face, he watched its patterns as it moved and saw his moment. 'Don't Move Kehinde, just don't move.'

He eased the trigger back and the pistol roared. his other pistol instantly moved down to Opal, and he fired a similar shot aimed at this one's temple also. The pistol roars echoed through the cell block. Just another thing to give away their location, but hopefully the impact of the bullets would be enough to render each of them unconscious and the group could move on.

Basic
Name: Feivel Whitney Hobllordy

Age: 23

Faction: Assassin

Rank: Apprentice

Status
Location: By hole in prison wall

Company: Vex, Ilari

Mood: Edgy

With closed eyes and empty mind Feivel stepped through the portal. A shiver like midnight fog ran through her, despite the many thick black layers of her clothes. She immediately liked the feeling. There. Not there. In. Out. Flickering. Dissipating with endless particles into the morning light. One with the swirling mist.

She almost allowed a smile to jerk up the corners of her lips.

“How dare you talk about my portals like that? Tell me.”

The budding smile withered. With a sigh Feivel opened her eyes at the shrill voice stabbing daggers into her brain. She imagined, more pleasantly, returning those daggers. Except hers wouldn’t be metaphorical. The assassin’s eyes took a few seconds to acclimate, perhaps a side effect of the portal travel she wasn’t used to, though she hardly needed visual confirmation to know the owner of the voice.

Her "companion," Vex.

Even Feivel’s subconscious train of thought was reluctant to use that word. Companion. Implying closeness. A relationship. But she could think of no better word to substitute it with. Nothing that wasn’t bogged down with the sticky feel-good mush of teamwork.

Annoyance I got stuck with on this mission” was bulky, but at least it fit.

To be fair, Feivel didn’t hold her other “companion” in much esteem, either, even if she did see more of herself in him. The way Illari carried himself, as if his very existence dismissed everything else around him. It was different for her, though. Feivel couldn’t afford to be that kind of cocky, the one that looks down on everyone. She was the other kind, the kind that instinctively pushes them all away.

There was an unsettling atmosphere around them. Another aftereffect of the portal? The morning air felt stifled, somehow. As if they weren’t on an island at all, but trapped in a room. A box. A labyrinth.

Labyrinth. A good microcosm for this whole ordeal, in fact. Suspicious from the get-go. Why would the Council want her, of all people, tagging alongside these Omada? While her ego wanted to say that it was only natural, given her skill, her brain was rational enough to dismiss that fantasy. Too much reward for a problem student. She could hold her own, but compared with an Omada? She didn’t want to compare. She had no real interest in the group. Or any group, for that matter. Which is why she felt a prickling sense of unease when she had been tag-teamed up with Vex and Ilari to go assist the graduates that seemed to have been making quite a go of things, she had heard. Even getting her classmate killed. Well, that’s what happens when you can’t hold your own. She had never been close to Leandra, never even tried.

Assassins worked alone.

Convenient, huh, the others all top of the class. Her class. And minus just one assassin...She was an assassin. All too convenient. As if she could perfectly fall into line with their little merry band of faction warriors. She did not want to be a faction warrior. Hell, she didn’t want to be working with hunters in her own faction. But that was why she was in this damn situation in the first place, wasn’t it? Second chances. A second chance for her to earn approval as a hunter. A second chance for her to figure out why she was still so desperate to become one.

Even if ‘second chances’ meant listening to the Omadas blabbering their mouths off in the bright light where all could see. At the glaringness of their voices, Feivel couldn't help but pull her hood down lower over her eyes.

If she had been alone, there would have been no need for talking.

But then it was silent. The other two seemed to be taken in by the inescapably eerie aura of their new surroundings. Feivel thought wildly for a moment, imagining the three of them as statues, stuttered there for the rest of time. But then she wouldn’t be able to go back to the mainland, and she had business there. Quicker the better with this thing.

“Let’s split up then, if they’re all over the place.”

Never mind that tracking had never been her strong suit. Never mind the mission briefing hadn’t given her much to go off of, that she was in unfamiliar territory, against unknown and hardened opponents, who had already proven themselves by landing in the US Council’s biggest baddest prison.

“No one knows we’re here, right? Take them by surprise, help these kids, save the day, go home.”

‘Kids.’ Because they were younger than her, weren’t they? Because she was a bit old for a graduate. A few extra years. Missing gaps, time taken off, transfers. She had been lucky to graduate this year at all. Not for lack of skill, perhaps, for that was what had saved her in the end, but lack of direction.

Why?

“Unless you don’t think you can handle being on your own?” she couldn't help but add with a smirk, leaving the obvious question unanswered and unasked. The Omada, she was sure, could take care of themselves. But what about her? One. Lone. Assassin.

“It’s not your scores, we’re worried about...”

Problem Student.

“Just field a few missions. If you’re ready, show us.”

Her Koumpi...

“Being a hunter means you’ll be part of a community, Mr. Hobllordy.”

Not even the top of her class.

That girl had done everything right, and now look where she was. Dead. Just like Feivel Hobllordy, the girl, was long dead.

And if Feivel the man couldn’t handle himself against a few prisoners, then she didn’t want him to be alive, either. Not that she was afraid. She could feel it pulsating within her. The urge. The power. To prove them all wrong.

Once upon a time she had wanted to work hard, to study, to practice and train, and become the best. To change the rules.

Now she wanted to obliterate them.

Besides, they’re just human. How bad can these prisoners be?

Not bad at all. She liked to fight humans. Perhaps more than a good hunter should.

Rufus

As Rufus jumped back, he watched as Sora's attack failed and as the unconscious Knight's eyes suddenly shot open, vibrating. Pointing at the knight, he turned around to Shen, ignoring the twin. "Is that guy high on dope or something?" He asked. Shen looked offended. "How dare you accuse a knight of something like that! He obviously has something wrong with him." Shen's gaze shifted to the twin who had focused his attention on Rufus.

"Rufus?" Shen's voice was no longer playful and friendly. Rufus knew Shen well enough to know he had two sides: the playful one and the deadly side meant for battle. Rufus knew to respond quickly whenever Shen went into his second state, because it usually meant something was dreadfully wrong. "Do you remember the leashing tactic?" Shen asked, a glint in his eyes that made Rufus realize why he was chosen as leader.

Not wanting to let Shen down, Rufus racked his mind to think of what Shen was talking about. After a couple of minutes, he nodded, smiling himself. It was a tactic their clan had developed, but Shen had brought it to fruition when they were trying out to enter the competition to rank up. It basically involved a series of back and forth attacks, slowly shifting back while dealing damage to the enemies. It was usually used to draw out enemies to move somewhere, but it appeared Shen had something else in mind. "What are you trying to do?" Rufus asked, confused.

Shen

Shen grinned slyly at Rufus' question, a plan forming in his mind. "Remember the trapper's nest strategy? That's what we're doing." He didn't bother to look at Rufus, because he was almost positive Rufus knew the strategy. It was real simple, using their environment to help them out. Shen knew they had no chance of winning in a head to head battle, so he planned on defeating them with cunning, if not simply slowing them down so they could regroup.

"Damn, gonna have to use the Raiton Ryuken." Sora said as he began gathering lightning in the palm of his hand in the form of a ball. Then his koumpi interrupted "No you mustn't, if he truly knows the techniques of your clan he hasn't reached yet then he would've destroyed you and the pirates along time ago. They haven't even tried a serious offensive move this whole battle. This must be a diversion meant to keep your occupied you should fall back or end this as soon as possible." Sora stopped and thought about it fading into True Concealment. He often would attack from True Concealment so that's likely what the brother's would suspect that's what he was going to do. But in reality he let the ball fade and fell back so that the Pirate's could take over and then he move into the final phase of his plan which is to blindside them with an awakening.

Sora had no intention of letting them go not just out of revenge but he needing the information they should have. Revenge was a just a sweet and too convenient bonus. Just the fact they were usng techniques stolen from the Kaminari lit him aflame. "If your awakening runs dry there's no thunder storm to replenish your soul essence but there is something you can do. So while we wait watch this memory of my previous host Kaminari. If it comes tok this, the irony will be unbelievable." His koumpi said in his mind. Sora then was placed in a trance again looking at another of Kaminari's memories.

Kimirou smiled as his team used the poisonous fog to pure perfection. His smile quickly dropped when Czar stomped the ground and made cement rocks lift from it. Just as he was about to throw the rocks Kimirou launched himself to his right. He smiled at the brilliance that was that was Kehinde’s illusionary skills. His attack alone on Czar’s mind made the man nearly incapacitated. Of course, Kimirou couldn’t even see the illusion due to his eyes being in thermal mode. Kimirou then noticed there was another thermal that maybe no one else could see. “That must be the other Prisoner Czar just called.” Just as he was about to engage the guy, Kimirou heard Vienna’s whisper to them. Kimirou whispered back hoping she would hear. “I agree with you. Now would be a time to regroup especially since we have bigger fish to fry.” Kimirou then looked back over to Kehinde. “Why hasn’t he moved very much?” He thought to himself. “He must be limited on mobility when it comes to using his illusions. I can fix that.” Kimirou then threw a die towards Kimirou’s feet. This die once it hit the ground, formed a icy road beneath his feet. Where with a slight motion would send him sliding out of harm's way. This would also makes it to where he could do this without affecting his illusions. @DergTheDergon @FrontLine

Kimirou then looked over to Darious. He was pulling out his pistols and pointing them towards Czar. He quickly smiled. “You aren’t going anywhere.” Kimirou thought as he threw a die towards Czar’s feet. as this die would hit the ground beneath them it would do Czar as it did the male members of the Metagrams. I would grow on him making him stay in the same spot and if it grew enough it would make him into an ice sculpture. With that Kimirou used Kinisi to appear in between Darious and the area Vienna shadow walked into. “Whats next? Are we regrouping or what?” Kimirou exclaimed right as Darious shot so he wouldn’t be heard. @Affili @OwlOne @DergTheDergon

Kimirou’s koumpi picked that as the perfect time to intervene. “Now would be the perfect time to scan the area and see how the others are doing.” Kimirou rolled his eyes. “Do you not see that I am in a fight right now?” His koumpi continued. “Yes but a great Asura can multitask fool.” Kimirou nodded his head and closed his eyes as he did before. Kimirou quickly picked up on a few essences near the hole everyone entered. One in particular was very familiar. Kimirou’s eyes opened very quickly as irritation filled his body. He looked over to Kehinde and mouthed the words. “Soul Stealer.” Hopefully this will spark some interest in Kehinde, as the graduates past with the omada was a little shaky to say the least. Kimirou then mumbled the name soul stealer so the other’s would know as well. “Well I for one wasn’t expecting to see the Omada here.” His koumpi stated. “You must have known if you wanted me to do that.” His koumpi quickly stated. “I did.” With that she went silent again. Kimirou rolled his eyes at her trickery. He then turned his attention back to the task at hand. @FrontLine @OwlOne @Pretzel Heart

:2/5: Basic Information

Temperature: 65 degrees

Wind: 7 knots

Weather: Sunny with a chance of cloudy skies. Breezy with a slight chill.

Season: Fall

Once she was finally to her feet, Rina already had her hand placed on her weapon. She had no time for games nor did she feel the need to talk. Entering the hole that was created by Rina and Margie was a familiar person to Rina. In the past, this guy used to be her old sparring partner before he was hauled away for the murder of two faction leads. She knew what he was about so she wasted no time in making it known that she knew he was there, “Lance…” She greeted maliciously. Stepping from out of the whole was a rather slender fella. Nothing to write home about. He looked a bit young and sort of malnourished. He smiled upon hearing Rina call his name, “Bonjour Madam Rina. Nice to see you again,” He waved to her seemingly taunting her. Rina looked over her shoulder at Paige and Margie to see if they were progressing. She then quickly returned her focus back to her opponent. Rina figured she couldn’t waste time worrying about them. She needed to end this and end it quickly. “Come here to have a reunion or to kill me. I for one don’t have a thing to say.” She blatantly spoke gripping her weapon. “Same old thing with you, grab your weapon and move to the right. That won’t work here Rina, it’s been years since I have seen you, but an elephant never forgets.” He then took a step forward, “Come forth and settle this once and for all.” *Press Play* That’s all it took for Rina to jump into action. She used Kinsi and was upon Lance. Lance then sidestepped and spun around initiating a sneak attack on her remembering her moves. Seeing this out the corner of her eye she dove under him, slid around, and was able to get a nasty kick in to send him flying back. Lance took the hit and was sent a few yards back.

Collecting himself, he rose to his feet, a smirk upon his face. He wiped the blood of his jaw, “Lucky shot I guess. I’m rusty I’ll give you that.” Rina winked, “Yeah?” She then snapped her fingers and the area beneath Lance exploded as if he stepped on a mine. The force of the blast forced him through wall and back into the area where the others were crashing into Czar just in time for them both of them to take Darious’ bullet head on. Rina looked over her shoulder to Margie, “Don’t sleep on me just yet.” Mouth all the way to the floor, Margie and Paige looked at her with a speechless expression. Margie looked over to Paige, “When did she…” Her head interruptingly turned back to Rina, her mouth dropping even lower. With precise speed, a Kunai jetted through the opening and passed Rina’s ear. Trying to get out of the way of that, Rina wasn’t able to see Lance leap through the opening after the Kunai. Rina turned her body in an attempted to dodge, but Lance was one step ahead. He got her in a good position to where she was looking at the kunai and uttered the words, “Blindiga Lumo.” A bright light flashed from the flying Kunai nearly disorienting Rina, Margie, and Paige. Rina quickly tried to cover her eyes, but the light was too bright. Lance, then used this opportunity to counter attack with a jab to the abdomen. Successful, Rina lifted off the ground a bit before falling to her knees from the blow. From her knees to falling on her face.

Once the flash subsided, he cackled a little as his eyes fell on the pitiful sight. “Aww, vous étiez pas si réussie after all (weren’t so successful after all.), maybe next time.” Not willing to give up in the eyes of her big sis, Rina grabbed Lance’s ankle firmly with her left hand. Her soul essence began to rise by the second. She turned her head to look up at him with the stare of death. She then took her right hand and slammed it on the ground next to which would have felt like a small vibration. Rina the took the hand and drew a curving line and uttered the words, “Ekprysokroto (Eck-prese-so-crow-toe.)” Lance’s eyes widened as he felt the burning sensation coming from Rina’s hand. Rina then vanished from his view and reappeared in front of Margie. She rapidly weaved a hand sign and ended it with a fist extended in front of her. “Now dance. Hmmph” She spoke. Following that, explosion after explosion began to go off around the lone standing Lance. As they began to close in on him, he began to try his best to evade them. He looked over to see if he could get help from Czar, but he and Opal were out cold. Margie took the liberty to aid her old friend by saturating the ground a little bit in order to slow Lance down. Whilst he was dodging he tried to steal a glance at Rina. From what he saw, she looked different. Her hair was gunpowder black, her eyes with gunpowder eye shadow and eye liner on them, her finger tip painted a certain shade of black. It was then he realized he was out of his league. “So she went into awakening huh. Clever way to get out of a tough situation.” He thought. Rina thrust her left hand out which spewed little black pellets in the air. The fell to the ground, littering it.

Once Lance saw this, he quit his evasion and began to rethink his approach. He knew he could stand a chance whilst she was in that state, but in the same breath he didn’t want to retreat. Finally after going back and forth with himself, he decided it was best to regroup. He leaped down from where he was. Landing perfectly on the ground he spoke, “I have other things to tend to zat need my attention. We’re not finished.” His french accent flowed. He slowly began to walk off from Rina. Rina wasn’t going to settle for this, she dashed over to him with her weapon ready to strike. Sensing her coming, Lance reminded her why he was chosen to spar with her. He stepped to the side and tripped her up. As she fell, Lance did a one handed flip over her and landed behind her. Adjusting his clothing he continued his advance. He pulled out a flashbang, threw it, and it exploded. Lance along with an unconscious Czar and a dazed Opal were gone as if they were never there. Rina slammed her fist on the ground in anger. She collected herself and rose to her feet. Once she was finally to her feet, she looked at Margie, “Good to go?” Slowly getting up herself she replied, “As always.” Rina nodded and proceeded to the opening toward the graduates talking, “Alright listen up! From this point on we aren’t playing any more games with these guys. We need to be quick and easy with this.” She stepped through the opening looking like she’s been through hell and back, “You see any of them kill them no questions asked. See an inmate try and neutralize the situation if they don’t comply kill them. Your main objective here is to find the ring leader and kill them. You skated by with you lives by just a hair so consider yourselves lucky. It only gets worse starting now. If you haven’t learned to awaken by now, it best you get to figuring it out because you may need it. I promise. Let’s move.” @Newtype

Vex turned around as the new face appeared out of the portal. “Well, you made it through. How did you like it?” Illari stood to his feet rubbing his head. He waved his left and quickly commented. “Don’t answer that. Trust me.” Vex turned to Illari. “You shut up you big meanie.” Illari stood up straight and looked dead at Vex. “Really? You just put me on a rollercoaster.” Once he finally gained somewhat of his balance back, he looked over to the assassin that they were partnered with. He watched as the guy stayed mostly to himself and didn’t say much. Illari wasn’t particularly sure why they sent yet another assassin because they never seem to keep anyone around. He then heard the guy suggest splitting up into groups which would benefit them more rather than staying together. Illari always preferred to work alone. That way he could cover more ground, “I think that would be our best bet. Vex your thoughts?” He asked. Vex motioned for them to hold on just a moment. She then made a fist with her right hand. She wiggled the fingers as if they were rotating die. She then acted as if she was tossing something into the air. Several lights flew from her hands into the air. The lights then split into several groups. Five were to the right and 7 were to the left. Right above their heads were three and from each of the groups seemed to be several smaller orbs of light of a darker color moving away.

Hype intensifier

Vex then looked back over to Illari and the assassin. “Uhm there is no need now. The threat is leaving.” She said pointing up to the lights. Illari looked over to the Assassin, “Go on ahead and meet up with your team. I suggest they’ll be around here some…….” Illari was interrupted by the facility’s light being shut off. *Press Play* As quick as it happened the emergency lights kick in. “That’s not good. If I’m not mistaken this place has about a two-hour emergency release in case the power is out for too long.” “And if I’m not mistaken, when that runs out so will the prisoners,” Vex added. “Precisely.” Ilari looked to both sides of the hall. He then began to take into consideration the amount of time it would take to locate the source of the problem. He looked to Vex, “Think we’re going to need a little extra help?” “Got ya. One shadow ogre coming up.” Vex quickly placed her hand on the wall nearest to herself. “Wait!.” Ilari interrupted. “I think we will be fine. Remember what happened last time? If we all take a direction we could shave off the time.” With that, Ilari turned to his left and proceeded down said hall.“Fine” Vex mumbled. She then took the hall to the right. Once the two departed, the time began to tick away…..t minus 120 minutes…….119…..118…...117…...116…….115. @Newtype @FrontLine @babyjoker36610 @DergTheDergon @Edric Yuma

Rufus

Rufus turned to Shen. "Alright, I'm read-"

"Watch out!" Shen tackled Rufus, knocking the words out of his mouth. Falling to the ground with an "Oof!", Shen shielded Rufus with his body as a bright light suddenly resonated around Rufus. When the light vanished Shen got off of Rufus, rubbing his head with embarrassment. "Sorry, I thought that weird lady was going to kill all of us or something."

Rufus got up and stared at Shen in surprise.
He risked his life for me? Rufus couldn't believe it. After all the things Rufus had said to Shen, the way Rufus had treated his fellow thief? Maybe he had judged Shen too harshly. "Hey, Shen," Rufus started, intending to thank Shen. "I want to-"

Shen clapped Rufus on the back, once again knocking the words out of his mouth.
"Alright, let's get going! We need to regroup, reform, re-whatever, all that good stuff!" Shen started marching away, then stopped, frowning. "Wait... who was that woman? Why was she so rich? She could have given us some money so we could get off this stupid island." Shen shrugged. "Ah, whatever! Let's go!" With that, Shen marched away, humming his merry tune.

Rufus sighed, unconsciously smiling. Shen was back to his old self, and for once Rufus wasn't all that annoyed about it. He turned to follow Shen, then paused. He looked back, not really sure where the ninja was. The knights seemed to be able to handle themselves, so Rufus didn't really bother with them.
"Uh...." Rufus cleared his throat. "Ninja dude, you should probably come with us." With that, he hurried to join Shen, knowing the ninja could catch up in no time. @Newtype

Shen

Shen ran in front of Rufus, humming happily. He could tell that Rufus was about to thank Shen for knocking him over, and it pleased Shen to receive the unspoken gratitude from Rufus. He had simply stopped him mid sentence before it got awkward.

As he ran, he thought about what was happening within the prison, and who the other people were. How were they so important that two Knights had accompanied them on their journey? He didn't know, but the group sounded like a rather formidable kunina team, especially with all the assistance they had.

As they were about to turn a corner, Shen suddenly stopped.
"Hold on!" He whispered. Rufus paused behind Shen, and they stood along the wall, listening for the voice coming from around the corner.

"....because you may need it. I promise. Let’s move.” Shen listened to what sounded like a woman's voice coming from around the corner. He prepared his weapons, bracing for a fight. @OwlOne @DergTheDergon @Affili @babyjoker36610 @FrontLine

Everyone made swift work of getting out of the way of Czar’s unprepared attack. Kehinde noticed how Darious took the opportunity to use his abilities to turn the tide in the fight. Watching with his eyes, Kehinde could tell Czar’s reactions, inadvertent jerks of his body, and changes in breathing pattern. His attention was captured when he heard Darious yell for him not to move. Kehinde, not seeing his pistol, wasn’t understanding why he was being told to stand still. Next thing he heard, “BANG.” Darious’ pistols sounded. It was almost in slow motion that Kehinde started to look in that direction. He had nowhere to go and no time to get out of the way. Hearing the sound of the shot sent a shiver through Kehinde’s body. A shiver that signaled imminent death.

Kehinde then felt the ground beneath him move which of course moved him out of harm’s way. A sigh of relief quickly left Kehinde’s mouth. He was so tied up into his craft that he was unaware of his own surroundings. “If you are going to learn how to do illusions then you will have to learn how to keep yourself aware of what’s going on in reality. That was a close one.” His Koumpi explained.

Before Kehinde could even thank the one who got him out a dodge, someone crashed through the wall to his left slamming into the one they were fighting. The sheer force of the collision seemed to knock Czar out as he hit the wall seemingly head first. The dust kicked up from the rubble made it hard to see who crashed through the wall because as soon as he came he was gone. All Kehinde could see were legs rapidly shooting toward the opening in the wall. Following that, he heard explosions. “What the hell is going on?” He questioned. “Sounds like someone is engaging an enemy of their own.” His Koumpi commented. A quick flash then blinked. A few seconds after that a nasty surge in soul essence followed suit. It was so strong that it almost brought Kehinde to his knees.

With all the strength he could muster, he decided to go see what all the commotion was. He peeked into the hole and was shocked to see a full fledge battle going on. Margie was holding herself, along with a girl, and then he saw Rina in a different state. From what he could tell the enemy was having a bit of trouble trying to handle her. “She hasn’t changed at all,” Kehinde commented about his old faction mate. “Oh? So the feelings for her are still present.” His Koumpi spoke. “You say that as if they went on vacation or something. They just….diminished is all.” Kehinde replied. “In your case, they did not diminish. The outcome wasn’t what you expected so you buried your feelings.

Shaking his head, he returned his attention back to the battle. To his surprise, the enemy was walking toward them. Kehinde quickly jerked himself back from view to keep from being seen. No sooner than that, another flash of light happened. This time, after the flash subsided, Czar along with his comrade were gone. “Leaving so soon?” He thought to himself. “Rather strange that he gave up at the drop of a hat.” He continued.

Kehinde then heard the familiar voice of his old faction mate Rina. For some odd reason, old feelings began to pour into Kehinde as if he were a glass. He wasn’t sure why he was starting to feel them again, but upon hearing her, it sent him back to the old days when he was just lowly student. Kehinde began to start acting strange as she started into her explanation of what was to come. His body was trying to listen, but his mind was sending him back to the past. Relief came in the form of the lights being shut out just as she finished speaking. This gave him an opportunity to focus on something else other than that part of his past with the scouts. Lights going out in a prison never was a sign of something good.

Moments later the emergency lights kicked in lighting the hallway just enough to see in front. “This can’t be good,” His Koumpi spoke noticing the change in atmosphere. “I agree and with us not even knowing this place all that well I’d say we’re at greater odds,” He replied. “I think Rina is right. We should keep on going. No need to be in one place when the lights have just gone out. This could be an enemy trap of some sorts.” Kehinde decided to be the first one to advance hoping his teammates would follow. “Oh, and there isn’t a need to hide behind a wall. At this point, we’re in this together.” He commented toward the new soul essence. @Edric Yuma @DergTheDergon @Affili @babyjoker36610 @OwlOne

Rufus

Rufus recognized the voice. Turning to Shen, he whispered, "Wait... isn't that-" Shen stepped out from the wall, pulling Rufus along with him. "Hey guys!" He said cheerfully. "We thought you guys were enemies, so we hid. Didn't expect to find you guys here." Rufus sighed, then glanced at the group in front of him, then lastly at the brunette who looked like shit. "Um... looks like a fight happened here," he said. "We just encountered some random rich lady and a pair of twins who attacked us. They knocked out one of the knights and escaped."

He glanced at the man who had spoken to him, recognizing him as someone who had approached him outside the prison, the person who stopped Shen from running away. He wished Shen could be more serious. Sometimes, he simply did stupid things that made Rufus doubt he still had his wise leader mind within him.

"The two knights were bickering the last time I saw them, and I don't know the current status of the ninja." Rufus gazed at Shen as if to ask what now?

In response Shen grinned at the rest of the group, showing his nice set of gleaming teeth. "So, what's our mission? I want to get out of here as soon as possible."

Hob_Purp.jpg

Basic
Name: Feivel Whitney Hobllordy

Age: 23

Faction: Assassin

Rank: Apprentice

Status
Location: Inside Destirdere (where Czar fight was)

Company: Random assortment of graduates and NPC's (...?)

Mood: Let's just do this shiz

In response to the Omada’s spat over the apparently controversial portals, Feivel licked her lips in an attempt to swallow her annoyance and muster up a grin.

No worries there. I liked it a lot.

What she didn’t like was her plan rendered null and void as well as what Ilari had to say next. As soon as the word ‘team’ left his mouth, the assassin visibly winced involuntarily. So her premonition had been correct. That was the Council’s ultimate goal in sending her here, and the mere thought made her want to gag. But if she still wished to become a Hunter, she was going to have to put up with it until she was in good enough standing to quietly slink back to Shutter City and never have to deal with another human being again. Unless 'deal' meant shoving a fist or dagger into.

To make matters worse, the whole damn island seemed to want to put a time limit on her life. Or perhaps that was the fun part. Feivel’s adrenaline was already pounding so hard she’d need a halftime band to drown out the frothing from her ears. And every fiber of her body and infinite layers of clothing swarmed to set those urges free.

Finally, just like that, fluttering off of their ominous warning, the Omada were gone. Feival had gotten what she had wanted, at least, being left alone. But only to be faced with a graver alternative. Finding the ‘Merry Band’ and - she couldn’t help but wince again - joining them.

Team, she practically spat, the most superficial word in the dictionary. Why is the Council so hellbent on this thing, anyways?

‘Might it have anything to do with me?’

Great. Look what the cat dragged in.

It had happened enough times that Feivel was used to the discombobulated voice peering into her thoughts at the most inopportune moments. Her Koumpi. Despite the assassin’s best efforts to keep the thing shoved away and shut up, the voice always found a way to leak through, sooner or later. It’s lilting, smooth cadence sounded as if it was always on the edge of a laugh, and remained steadfastly chipper, no matter what insults the assassin flung its way. Since Feivel persisted in shutting the voice out whenever possible, she still didn’t know what form it belonged to, nor did she ever plan to find out. At times, though, she caught a vague glimpse. A darkened hollow. The golden glint of flame. Feivel had taken to calling her ‘the witch,’ or even just ‘Witch’ for short, because she was the sort of person who felt things needed to have names in order to sleep well at night. Not that she managed to sleep very well at all. Still, it gave her a sense of order. Of control. And she had to take that feeling where she could get it.

Just piss off, will you? I need to concentrate so I can find this guy.

‘Or you could just let me do it for you.’

Not in this lifetime.

Feivel had to admit, reading and tracking soul essences had never been her forte. As an assassin she was perfectly comfortably attacking whatever target was set before her. Even her current stealth tactics she had had to pick up from Sly...reluctant as she was to admit it. Tracking and slinking around had always been his job.

Well, he was no longer around. And good riddance to that.

Still, Feivel's lack of awareness meant that she hadn’t even picked up on the changes in her own soul essence, at first.

Up until that time, she was sure that there had been nothing strange about it. But afterwards...her soul essence seemed to have taken on a peculiar tick. Even on the best of days, it hung around near-abysmal levels, as if she were a powerless civilian, untrained child, or even deadman walking. Not having been in the mood to think about such things at the time, she barely noticed it until the rigorous medical examinations had pointed it out to her. But she seemed to be functioning fine, so they chalked it up to trauma and left it at that. Feivel had her own ideas about it, thinking that by keeping her own power supply relatively low, when she started sucking the power out of everything else like a balloon, her body and Koumpi were making sure that balloon wouldn't pop.

And maybe once, no...if she got better at controlling the damn thing, she would start to be able to raise her own soul essence back up to normality, in time.

Not that she had plans to make use of Witch any time soon, so she had gotten used to the quirks and side effects.

Because of her low soul essence, she was often being ignored or underestimated. Which suited Feivel fine. In fact there was nothing she loved more than to be underestimated. Having low expectations meant having nothing to live up to, as well as a can of laughs to see the look on a person's face in case she was able to exceed those expectations. Her spindly soul essence also made fading into the stealth techniques she had stolen from Sly that much easier. On the downside, when not in her Flickering Stealth mode, anyone looking for her who knew about her particularity would be able to track her pattern in a heartbeat. She also sometimes felt something pressing down on her, as if there was a block on her power, limiting her stamina. Not that she was going to let anything as inconsequential as her body get in the way of achieving her goals.

There’s so many powerful presences all over the board. I can’t tell which ones are the prisoners and which are the graduates.

‘But I can tell the difference. Trust in me a little, borrow my power and I'll take you to the target.’

I don't need your help, and I don't need you to be the biggest, baddest, toughest sonuvabitch there ever was.

‘But use me and you’ll only get stronger.’

Feivel briefly wondered if this is what it had been like for Sly, the constant hissing in his ear flickering like blood from the tongue of the big black snake.

Amartía

I don't need that kind of strength. Besides, every time you show up, all it brings me is trouble.

‘That's only because you try to suppress me, like you’re doing now. Refuse to acknowledge me, refuse to take control. Of course you'd end up misusing me in pressure situations like that. Which is what this may turn into, if you're not careful. Time is ticking, you know. Remember what the board said?’

Yeah, that feel-good crock of bull about 'opening my heart' and 'honing my abilities so they don't go to waste’ blah blah blah.

‘And those graduates are supposed to be able to use Awakening...'

So what?

'Hmm. Oh, nothing. Just a thought.'

Suspicious.

Look at it this way, if it weren't for me, you'd have been expelled, but now here you are, a proper Hunter on an important mission.’

If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have ended up in that situation in the first place!

More than ever she wished she could punch her own soul in the gut. But the witch was right about one thing. Time was ticking and Feivel wasn’t getting anywhere, fast. For a moment she pondered just remaining on the edge of the prison like that. Giving in. Giving up. Find a good bar brawl to escape into, or something. But what good would that do her? If she was on the mainland, it would be different. Stranded on a soon-to-be dangerous island, however...

‘You are right about one thing. I am a witch. And you’d best remember it.’

Fine. Get me to this bloody beard like a good girl and maybe I’ll whip you out for some exercise once we get back. Let me just get in, quickly kill the b**tard, and leave. Before anyone else gets any bright ideas about grouping me up.

As you wish.

Feivel closed her eyes, allowing the jingling sense of warmth that had been the Koumpi on the periphery of her mind to slowly take over like an overwhelming sense of calm. She could feel her body moving, subconsciously using her Kinsi and Flickering Stealth as she almost seemed to glide through the empty halls towards one of the soul essence concentrations she had vaguely picked up on earlier.

Like a swan lighting on water, Feivel felt herself smoothing down to a steady stop. She had to admit, the witch had a certain finesse. As she readied herself to open her eyes, the false sense of serenity her Koumpi had brought was banished back by the roaring tides of pure adrenaline. She was still in Flickering Stealth mode, and so she was sure that the enemy hadn’t been able to pick up on her yet. But as soon as she opened her eyes...

Her entire body trembling, she steadily lifted her lids, the mauve irises flashing as she prepared to speedily take in the scene.

But said scene made her freeze, thoughts of battle deflated.

Ah, f**k.” She cursed, all pretenses of stealth forgotten as she found herself in a ragtag ring of worn-out doofuses from factions all across the board. They looked as if they had just been in a fight themselves, “it’s the graduates, isn’t it?

‘Really? What a surprise.’

You tricked me! Of all the lowdown dirty---

'If you didn't want to be tricked, you could have relied on your own abilities.'

Feivel couldn't see her, of course, but she was sure the witch was grinning. She didn't want to take this kind of bull from her own Koumpi.

You're supposed to be on my side, damnit!

'How can I help you if you won't even use me?'

I don't need your cursed ‘help.’ Thanks to you now I have to deal with these idiots.

With a sigh she ran a hand through over her head, accidentally knocking back her hood and revealing her golden mop with the motion. Too late to hide now, anyways. Not wanting to seem like a madman conversing with himself, she decided to break the circle of awkward. Tagging onto what someone had just said: (@Edric Yuma )

"Couldn't have put it better myself, kiddo. Well, introductions. As for me, don't bother. As for you, you look like a bunch of a**holes, and that's all I really need to know. Now, let's find this Bloody Beard dude and kill him. Don't worry, I can handle that if you lot don't have the guts.” She paused here to accentuate her motivation by sending a quick punch into her gloved hand. “We've got two hours to live or something, so I'd like to get to it.” Pausing again with a wink, Feivel realized she couldn’t remember the last time she had spoken so much. Well, she always knew she had a loudmouth in her just waiting to be set free. Her altered voice was starting to get a bit raspy from the exertion, though. “Oh, but I have no idea where he is, so you idiots can show me."

There. She proudly looked around to see if anyone was even paying attention. Not that she really cared. It looked as if one jacko had already started to take off ( @FrontLine ), and if no one had the will to respond to her, well, she wouldn’t blame them, and she figured that running after the fleetfoot would be her best bet in getting to Bloody.

Vienna observed the continuing confrontation between Czar, Kehinde and Darius, her eyes widening in shock as she spied Darius' bullets rushing dangerous towards where the distracted Kehnde was standing, still focusing on controlling his illusions. Feeling a sudden shift in Kimirou's soul essence, she looked down to see that the ground beneath Kehinde feet was being rapidly covered with ice, subsequently causing him to slide just out of range as the bullets collided with Czar. Vienna found herself breathing a sigh of relief... as much as she wanted others to believe she didn't rely on them for anything, the fact is that this little ragtag group, Kehinde especially, has treated her with more respect than most of her faction has, minus Nightwalker and a handful of others. The boys back at the academy were especially harsh on her, but in this group she's decided she doesn't really mind being the only female among them. They didn't seem to look down on her for it, at least. Just after the bullets struck, Kimirou approached them and whispered, seeming to hope his words went unnoticed by the enemies nearby. Vienna simply nodded, having already explained that that was her plan.

Suddenly, Vienna felt two powerful soul essences closing in. Her vision darting towards the direction she felt them, she only had a second to ponder why they seemed to be on the other side of the wall before Rina, a member of the scouts Vienna recognized, burst through it with the force of her strike, sending an inmate toppling though the wall. Vienna cautiously approached the scene, listening as Rina looked to Margie and asked if she was alright. Without warning, she spoke up, and Vienna's eyes widened as she diverged the details of the situation. Her words rung true... time certainly seemed scarce. Glancing over each of her teammates, Vienna's eyes stopped on Kehinde momentarily... the way he was gazing upon Rina seemed... different somehow. She'd never seen him like this thus far. Deciding it was none of her business, Vienna simply glanced back towards Rina and nodded, and began moving with her and assumedly the other graduates. The fact that the light had gone out, an understandable source of alarm for the others, was contrarily a perceived convenience to the Shadow as she observed her new advantageous surroundings and thinking of how easier it would be for her to move around, not to mention fight in this place now that darkness was of more abundance.

At this moment, she began to feel two more soul essences hidden behind a nearby wall, which felt... slightly familiar, as if she'd just ran into them earlier. To her slight surprise, out came the two thieves from earlier. It seems the others had already started regrouping with Vienna's team, which was fine by her. It'd save hr some searching at least. She observed the thieves with not a words, acknowledging each of thier presences with a nod. Vienna had learned not to pass immediate judgement on anyone, in fact judging others seemed useless to her as much as she was inclined to do so at times. At this moment, Kehinde decided to Vienna's releef that he would be the one to spur the others into action.

Vienna began following his lead as she sensed something odd, at the very edge of her soul essence sense. A signature faint yet ominous and complex. The very moment she began to feel this essence, its own spoke up causing her head to shoot in his direction. Her direction? Vienna couldn't quite tell upon first glance, but considering the newcomer's clothing and tone of voice, they at the very least seemed to want to appear male. The way they were dressed and the weapons they were carrying seemed to signify them as an assassin, but where had this person come from? The way they spoke was far more brah than she expected, and far more talkative as well. Assassins were the other faction notorious for giving others the "silent treatment," in addition to Vienna's own. Deciding not to pass judgement on this, or even the Assassin's very harsh and derogatory way of addressing them , Vienna simply began to follow Kehinde whilst looking back at them for a moment and speaking. "Follow me then, I can sense him. It's difficult not to... just don't expect me to allow you all the fun." At this point Vienna's laser-focused attention was on completing this mission. It was the response she had in any situation like this. Danger was Vienna's element truth be told, and her sudden air of confidence showed as much. @Pretzel Heart

With that, Vienna turned her back to the others and began shadow-stepping along to catch up with Kehinde. Having done so, she readied her scythe and began to focus her being on awareness of her surroundings, of all soul essences ally and foe, and scoping out bloodbeard location more precisely. Time was of the essence, so she figured anyone with a healthy sense of urgency about this situation would be following in her and Kehinde's wake right about now. As she'd been instructed, Vienna will strike the moment any danger presents itself. @FrontLine @babyjoker36610 @Edric Yuma @Affili @OwlOne
