Zoe followed the others as they figured out in which direction they must head. Beth found the correct way while both Rin and Jimbo aimed to take out the two guards who were unfortunate enough to stand nearby. As the bodies fell limp on the floor Zoe started to feel a bit uneasy... this was way too simple, an organization of this magnitude should have tighter security than this.

No sooner did this doubt formulated in her head when the alarms started to ring with a deafening sound, calling every single guard in the vicinity to join the fight. A dangerous flame lit in both of her eyes as she prepared her bow. With a menacing grin she rushed forward.

" Good! I have been aching for a fight! " she roared as she unleashed a hail of arrows on their foes. The patrol - as trained as they were - were unable to escape the rain of deadly arrows unleashed upon them, one by one they fell on the cold floor, their bodies being just one of many that will be forever be buried here. Fervor clouded her sight as she struck enemies down one after another. It was almost... invigorating, she relished in the brutality unfolding around her. She saw how everyone else were doing their best and she felt that she need to push herself harder than ever before. Her unerring precision allowed her to pierce the heart of many who dared foolishly rush up to them - but their numbers seemed to be endless.

After a while, however, she noticed that every attacker around her seemed to be strangely familiar. The fighters wore a familiar uniform... one she knew all too well. She paused for a moment, her eyes widening in surprise and horror.

" No... don't tell me that... " she shook her head, clearing her vision - and her fear came true. The patrol lay dead on the floor, that much she saw - but then she saw a lot of her arrows laying around, scattered on the empty floor with no enemies in sight. It was an illusion again... a trick of mind.

" No, not again! Not now! " she cried out as she turned towards the room. She saw Calista, Jimbo and Simon fighting with the leopards and the mercs and she immediately joined the fray. Seeing how they were handling the massive cats she decided to attack the mercs behind them. They seemed to be more skilled and tenacious than their brethren as they dodged her first arrows with ease - but she did not give up. They danced around the room, shooting at each other one bullet and one arrow after the other, the deafening sound of battle was almost disturbing, the chaos ensuing was greater than she could have imagined - but Zoe did not want to give up: with a precise strike she pinned down one of the mercs and sent a lethal shot through his skull.

" Well Doc, these arrows are pure awesomeness. " she laughed, turning to her second foe, unleashing hell upon him.

Eos found it strange that Alec smiled at him in a strange way - it was a weird feeling, one that he felt when Zoe was but a small child, he felt warmth filling his heart once again and he just silently chuckled, turning to Ash now. 'Stag' was a rather... plain name for him but alas he could not blame the man: he did skip almost every opportunity for interaction and he just jumped into the thick of the action. It impressed him how he predicted what they were capable of so he just nodded.

" I shall seek shelter nearby then. " he proclaimed " If we are to escape some of you can mount me - I run fast and I am able to escort you to safety should we need to flee. That is, unless you decide to put up a fight in which case I would gladly join the fray. "

He nodded again as Alec explained what their true purpose was and looked around.

" If we stay vigilant we can not fail - once we begin the negotiations we will need to buy as much time for the extraction team as possible. Please be witty and use the words to your advantage - try to weave a conversation which is difficult to understand for them, that way we can slow this exchange down. "

With that said he retreated behind a rock and a tree and sat silently, waiting for the action to begin.

Haku dispatched her target with a fierce bite. Rin had his Katana out as they progressed down the hall. He flinched and cursed when the alarms went off. The others rushed ahead "So much for quiet huh" He said to himself amidst the noise. He spotted Haku racing along the floor, he rolled to the side as the leopards leapt out. He heard the whirring of Zoe's arrows and grinned as they met their marks. "I always say, if you'r going to go running into places-" "You better be able to defend yourself" Haku finished for him as she moved along. His grin left his face as he sidestepped a swipe from the shadows. A swift strike down, then he brought the blade back up to mid height and he thrust. A sick sucking noise was emitted as he pulled the blade back out of the big cat that stumbled out of the shadows. His head was on a swivel as he kept moving, He heard Haku hiss as she struck another down. 1, 2, 3, three more bites all hitting the next three that rushed out of the corridors. She kept moving, not staying still. She couldn't afford to be a stationary target, she started making her way back to Rin. Darting back and forth between bodies until she was at his feet. Rin looked up just in time to see a large bat flying out of the shadows. It was coming for Haku and Rin didn't waste a second. He snapped the katana up, first twisting the belt buckle that had become a guard. The black blade began glowing, then emitting electricity. As he got close to the bat, the electric current moved from the blade, to the next conductible thing in it's vicinity. The bats wing shifted, as it narrowly missed the blade itself. But the current that was discharged arced into the nearby wing, sending the bat sprawling into a smoky heap on the cave floor. Haku hissed as she rounded on the bat and sank her fangs into it. She pulled her head back her mouth open, fangs wide. "Dinner!!" She exclaimed before chomping down, and with unnatural speed, swallowed the bat up. "No!!" Rin called to her, too late as she had already swallowed the thing. "Bah, just don't get to sluggish. I don't care how fast your metabolism is, that thing was huge!" He exclaimed as he stepped over to her and stood guard, waiting for Calista and the others to make their way forward. "Are you calling me fat?" She asked with mock disbelief. "Why would I do that?" He joked back to her before turning to the others. "We need to move, head them off in the tunnels before they can come around and surround us." He suggested stepping towards the entrance again. "Calista, your scanner, how did you get it to show you the layout? was it satellite? That won't do us any good down here, how quickly can you, if possible to reconfigure it. Use it to send out radio waves, then receive them to map out the area. Sort of like echolocation? It might help give us a layout of these tunnels." He knew it was a stretch, but they were gonna need help finding their way down here. "Unless, someone can see any signs pointing to their dungeon tunnel." Haku joked looking around. "Give me a minute to digest, I'll be able to figure out where the concentration of musk is coming from. Let's move out of this opening for now."

Xiao Hui looked over at Alec when Calista agreed to let Ash take lead of the group. She hadn't expected Alec to disagree with Ash being leader and wanted to volunteer her as their leader. Did he trust her that much? Even more so, to the point that he would listen to her plans and take her lead than Ash's? Maybe it was because they've been through more obstacles than Ash had considering he was new to the team. Regardless, Xiao Hui wanted to believe in Ash's capabilities yet at the same time couldn't help but feel appreciated and joyed to know Alec approved of her. She couldn't help her smile from growing when he sounded amazed yet dejected slightly when Calista wanted him to drop it. "Thanks, Alec." She spoke softly, knowing he wouldn't hear her, but nevertheless, felt her spirits lifted. Laohu's head lifted up when he heard Totus' reply and hummed in response, glad that he understood where he was coming from. "Glad to have you on board, Totes." Laohu said, giving Totus a nickname, just because he felt like it. On the other hand, Xiao Hui's ears perked up when she heard George, Nigel's companion pipping up about having devices for communication. Her smile formed into a grin as Xiao Hui looked down at her weapons, feeling safer already knowing she'd be able to communicate with the others if things were to go wrong. Soon, Alec had found protective vests for the animal companions as she took on for Laohu. Getting up from her seat, Xiao Hui gently placed the vest on Laohu as he stood up, standing like a statue for Xiao Hui to strap it on him securely. Stepping back, Xiao Hui looked at him nervously, remembering what had happened on their first mission. Seeing a small change in Hui's mood, Laohu nuzzled against her arm, "Don't worry too much, Hui. We've got each other's back, don't we?" He encouraged, using her words as another way to console her and tell her indirectly that he wasn't upset or agitated with her. Breathing a sigh of relief, but taking in Laohu's comfort, she nodded. Xiao Hui needed to get her mind focused once more knowing protecting Gigi was their main mission, and protecting her she shall.

Hearing the bus stopping at their destination, Xiao Hui turned towards the window, seeing them in front of the gate and inside, a garden and an old building could be seen. Her eyes scanned the winter field, filled with deadless leaves, but some snow here and there. Laohu ears perked when he heard Gigi's voice as he walked over towards Gigi, following her from behind, but leaving room for Gigi and Falarion. Seeing Eos walk up next to her, Xiao Hui placed a gentle hand on his head as she spoke softy,
" Hi, Eos. Watch out and be on guard, alright? I can't see you getting hurt." She said sincerely as she heard Alec's voice next. Xiao Hui turned, tilting her head at why he wasn't looking at her but, the floor. Nevertheless, she stayed quiet, listening to him. Blinking in surprise, Xiao Hui's smile softened as she nodded, "You got it, Monsieur. Same for you, don't do anything rash. . considering it seems like either you or Simon have a habit of doing that. . ." Xiao Hui teased lightly, not before hearing Duirk's voice, giggling at his comment. Laohu chuckled to himself. Biting her lip, Xiao Hui extended her pink, "Promise?" She asked before gently patting his arm. "Be careful." She whispered as she followed everyone else off the bus, not before greeting Nigel, "Nice to see you again, Nigel. Thank you, George." Once Laohu hopped off the bus, he stayed by Gigi,. Looking up in the sky, Laohu kept an eye out for Totus, knowing he was scanning their surroundings from above. Turning to her side, Xiao Hui smiled at Wednesday's and Cerci's input as she nodded towards them, knowing they'd need stealth to get Gigi somewhere safe if things went out of hand. Next, Xiao Hui looked around at her surroundings as Alec called out to Ash asking what the plan was. Giving Ash her full attention, Xiao Hui listened carefully to his instructions. So, everyone had their own duties and they needed to be separated, most likely hiding from view. Xiao Hui didn't like the fact she wouldn't see her teammates, but nevertheless, relied on their abilities and believed in them instead. Listening to Alec's input and reminding Ash what was going on, Xiao Hui spoke in agreement with Alec, but reassured him, "If there are shooters here, we'd need that advantage point from high up, especially since those on the ground won't be able to see it. You'll be watching our backs. . and I trust you. Ash and I can do it and we will meet at the rendez-vous point of the meeting place so that Gigi is there, however, if we see anything suspicious we will high-tail out of there. So, trust us?" She asked Alec, before continuing, hoping Alec believed her, "We'll buy the others time, I'll make sure of it." Laohu hummed in agreement as he stood close to Gigi, hearing her question, and spoke, "I'll be right by you and Falarion is there too. Let's go get them." Looking over at Ash, Xiao Hui nodded, "I'm good with close and personal attacks, not distance." She stated, not before her tone changed into one that left no room for arguments, "I'll hold you to that, Ash. If any of them is harmed, it's your head I'm going after." Xiao Hui eyed him, but not before, cracking a small smile, as she felt like intimidating him a little, "So, are you ready? Plus, we have our comms if we need each other, right?" Xiao Hui finished, not before looking towards Alec, Wednesday and Cerci, and Laohu, "We can all walk together and gradually move away as we get closer to the meeting point, if that sounds safer? Or would we want to go our own way now?" Xiao Hui pondered, not before stepping out to the front and standing next to Gigi and looking at the others, "Time's a-ticking guys!" She giggled lightly before seeing Duirk and Fie , as well as Eos going on their own way. Shaking her head, she shrugged slightly, though she was nervous, she tried hard to not let it show as she gave the others a signal to go.

Disembarking the bus with the others on Gigi's team, Manjano couldn't help but scowl a bit when Ash took charge of the group and gave everyone jobs...except for him and Falarion.

Falarion meanwhile had wandered a bit away from the group, as he'd found a beetle scuttling about on the ground.

Lowering his head until he was looking at the beetle from inches away, Falarion then tentatively poked the beetle with his forepaw before jumping up in surprise, as the beetle had suddenly flown away. Beetles can fly!?

Hearing Falarion's thoughts, Manjano frowned and turned away from the group to see the maned wolf staring wide-eyed at something flying away from him. Typical.

Walking away from the group, Manjano then crossed his arms over his chest and looked down at Falarion before scaring the maned wolf again by thinking, Having fun, are we?

Gah! Manjano! Um, yeah, no, er...maybe? I got distracted by that weird beetle.

Sighing, Manjano then pointed back at Gigi's group, specifically at Gigi herself.

Don't you want to protect her? We can't protect anyone if you keep wandering off like this.

Looking disheartened, Falarion pawed at a weed nearby before thinking back, Yeah...I know. Sorry.

Letting out a small sigh, Manjano then turned to return to the group while thinking, It's fine. Just don't forget why we're here to begin with, mate.

Following after Manjano, Falarion then perked back up as he thought, Y'know, it's great that you're so adept at combat and all! With both of us by Gigi's side, nobody can hurt her!

Rejoining the group, Manjano nodded at Falarion's thoughts before overhearing the last bit of what Xiao was saying.

Falarion also overheard Xiao's remark about him being with Gigi, making him grin before walking up to Gigi and saying excitedly, "Yeah! I'll keep you safe, Gigi!"

Wincing at how loud Falarion was, Manjano frowned at the maned wolf before thinking, Hey, keep it down, mate. Do you want any enemies in the area to know exactly where we are?

Lowering his head after hearing Manjano's thoughts, Falarion then whispered, "Sorry, I got a little excited there."

While the rest of the team had raced down the tunnel, Leandra had uneasily trailed after them, not running. At all.

With Luness on her shoulder, Leandra had no problem seeing, but she felt terribly on edge, not at all liking being in a combat position or the fact that she'd already witnessed a few deaths. Geez, what in the world had she gotten herself into here?

While Leandra was essentially freaking herself out, Luness kept her head on a swivel. Problem was, Leandra was going so slow that the pair had been left behind and now Luness had no idea where the rest of the group was...or where any enemies may be.

Hearing a commotion up ahead, Leandra froze before being nudged on by Luness.

Whispering mostly to herself, Leandra said, "Okay, you know what, when people hear a commotion in the movies and go investigate, someone always dies. Granted, usually it's the black guy, but we don't have one in this group so I'm probably next in line for being the scared girl who decides to investigate despite everything hinting at the fact that I should just turn around and leave right now!"

Sighing, Luness then whispered in Leandra's ear, "Dear, raising your voice will only tell the enemy where we are right now."

Narrowing her eyes at Luness while awkwardly craning her neck to the side, Leandra then retorted, "Lune, I can hear gunshots and shouting up ahead. I seriously doubt any enemies are going to hear us."

Sure enough the pair rounded a corner to see the fighting...only they were on the wrong side of the fight.

Blinking at the sight of a leopard being attacked by Simon past the two mercs in front of her, Leandra then did the only thing that seemed logical to her in the moment. She raised her arms above her head and shouted at the mercs, "WE SURRENDER!"

The two mercs instantly whipped around to look at her, confusion clear in their expressions, except one of them quickly became docile...as an arrow from Zoe struck him in the side of his head. That looked like it hurt. A lot.

As his body hit the floor, the second merc raised his gun at Leandra, who immediately covered her eyes, as Luness rapidly became blindingly bright, before her signature 'flashbang' move went off and the merc was temporarily blinded.

Opening her eyes after it was over, Leandra grinned at the merc, who had dropped to the floor and was hidden from the others' view now.

Expertly spinning her staff in her hand in a flamboyant manner, Leandra walked up to the merc as if she were about to end him Hollywood-style...only to thwack herself on the side of her head with her staff due to her lack of spinning skills.

"Ow, ow, ow, ow..."

Stumbling backwards from the merc with her hand against the side of her head, Leandra then tripped onto her back in time for Luness to fly off of her shoulder and then screech before flying into the merc's face with her talons out.

By the time Leandra had pushed herself up into a sitting position, Luness had already killed the merc and now hopped over to Leandra, blood staining her talons.

Making a disgusted face at Luness' talons, Leandra then asked, "Was that really necessary? I'm sure you could've just, I don't know, knocked him out of something."

Luness blinked at Leandra's comment, well aware of the fact that Leandra was mostly a pacifist in that she never wanted to kill anyone, only hurt, maim, or knock them out.

"Dear, I have sharp talons and a sharp beak. How in the world am I supposed to knock someone out."

"I don't know...get creative! You could've picked up some debris or soemthing and dropped it on his head."

Sighing, Luness responded, "Fine, I'll try to figure something out next time."

Getting back up with Luness on her shoulder once more, Leandra then looked around, as she was still behind the enemy force and had no idea what to do next.

Bael stood by, studying Ash and noticing that he, too, hadn't been given a specific place to be. As soon as he addressed Wednesday, there was a strange twist in his stomach and he shifted toward her, his attention trained onto this stranger with perhaps a little bit of skepticism or resent. Bael had never liked following orders, and from someone he didn't know -- that made it worse. He looked around, then to Cedar. "Cedar, take a tree. Near Cerci and Eos." He cast a worried glance after the great hart. He and Zoe were separated and never did he feel comfortable when a companion and their person weren't together. He was worried about the both of them.

"On it," Cedar replied, and the black bear loped off and was up a thick, obscuring tree in an instant.

Then Bael turned to his own placement. He looked around. He wasn't terribly useful at a distance. Or up close, really. He was just a medic. He considered his options carefully -- if he was on the roof with the fighters, he could be at hand if someone up there needed help. But then everyone guns for the healer first. That wasn't something he assumed would be lost on these rogues. He wondered if, perhaps, some small part of him wanted to fight them -- he wasn't keen, but he thought it was there. "Should I stay on the ground?" he asked at a length. "I can deal with the wounded if it comes to that. Eeth'r ones."

Ash looked at Alec and nodded. "That's fine, we need cover fire, if you stay at a distance and make sure the enemy stays in cover that will be far more useful than having another person to get shot at." He stated in a calm manner as he looked around. When the mention of girlfriends was brought up a soft laugh left him at this, why do so many people assume he has pictures of girlfriends in his wallet? He could have boyfriends! After all he's bi, he of course didn't point this fact out. Instead he shook his head. "No... My motivation and reminder that I'm not allowed to kick the bucket...oh and that I need to stop by a toy store before we head back to the states." He said before his eyes turned to the stag. "Gotcha, I will confuse them with such witty banter that they will swear the sky is pink and the clothes they are wearing lilac."

He then looked at Xaio and simply smiled even when she threatened to go after his head. Once more a soft charming chuckle left him. "You are an ambitious one, first you take my heart now you might take my head? I need to focus on the mission beautiful, I can't have only you in my thoughts.... At the moment that is." He said giving her a closed eye smile. Opening his eyes once more he looked at the few he had yet to give orders to. 'How did I miss them??' "Okay white hair, you are staying with your partner and coming with Gigi. I want you to keep an eye out on our flank and behind us incase they try something. As for you bear man, I want you to hide where you will be out of harms way for the time being however, if one of us gets hurts you will be there in seconds to take care of them. Also I want everyone to split up now, I think it may be best not to let the enemy know how many of us there are, if Fie does his part we may be able to convince them we have a lot more men then we actually do. But that's just a back up plan."

Once he said this he looked at Gigi, Xaio, the tiger who's name he had yet to get, white haired, and his mane wolf (who he thought was just adorable). "Before anyone reminds me for a fourth time. The mission is to see if they have strong, if they don't we tell the others and stall. If they do we tell the others and think of a way to retrieve him without losing Gigi." He said his eyes glancing to his wrist watch. "They might be here soon, so everyone get to your post, Gigi's escorts, shall we go now?" He asked though before anyone could really answer, he placed his hands in his dress pocket before walking off to the spot he needed to be at.

Fie stopped and looked at the Hyena before looking at the buffalo. "That thing is a skyscraper." He whispered as he looked up at him while staying low as well. Fie started to shuffle through his bag silently before he mentally facepalmed. "Um...I kinda forgot a few things on the bus." he whispered. As he silently crept up. "I need to get something... Do you think I can get there and back before it even moves? Buffalo's are known the be rather thick...and I'm not talking about size." he whispered glancing from the giant to the hyena.

Totus turned his head with a start as the sound of movement behind him. The pair of humans that had just come out onto the roof behind him, and they were definitely not tourists. The owl took off and fluttered away with a flock of startled birds. Once he was a safe distance away, he spoke.

"Two snipers on top of the building Alec just mentioned. They mean business." He called, and began circling wide again. The team had begun to move to the actual meeting point, a more secluded spot. The closer he got to the spot, the less people there were. And the ones that were around didnt seem to be enjoying a nice stroll.

The alarms blared in Beth's ears, distracting her painfully for a moment. That, and she hadnt turned off the heat vision and the sudden entrace of so much red, purple, and white was bizare. She fell back behind Simon and Jimbo, tapping to a better view and letting her ears recover. When she focused again, she caught sight of Zoe fighting.. no one. It was clear that she had a very good idea of where the people she was battling were, but there were no people there. Beth took a step back and watched as Zoe realized the mistake and jumped into the real fray. That could be very, very bad.

With the first wave being dealt with by the more experienced fighters, Beth snuck around the side and down the tunnel a ways. She crouched in a small alcove and clicked through her vision choices, stopping on Xray.

Woah.. That many bones looked cool in Xray vision. She could see through the walls, but anything behind the wall was a little fuzzy. It could be very, very useful.

The two guards who had come in first as well as the leopards fell quickly to the multiple attacks. Calista ducked behind the monitor as Simon grabbed the leopard about to make a quick snack of her. Once the fighting died down she set to work re-wiring the cameras to loop their feed.

After that she looked about.

"If things keep up like this, we'll only need to follow the trail of bodies back out of here. let's move before they regroup."

Without another word she dashed off through the passageway. As they went she suddenly saw pipes and cables appearing out of the ceiling. They seemed to converge and follow down one specific path.

"What the heck are they powering down here?" Whatever it was Calista had a bad feeling about it, she didn't have time to react however because more soldiers could be heard pounding down the path toward them. When they came into view Calista cursed for the third time in ten minutes. These guards were boars, and they wore heavy armour as well as shields they carried on their back, which could be flipped on hinges to fall in front of them. Behind them several mercs with machine guns opened fire.

"Back!" Calista screamed as she dove back around a corner. Safe from the barrage of fore for now she tried to think. If they tried a full-on assault they'd be ripped to pieces. "Any ideas?!" She yelled over the roar of gunfire.

Gigi gathered her courage, looked gratefully at Falarion for being beside her and strode into the park, slowing her pace slightly to allow Xiao and Ash to catch up.

"Allright you devils! I am 'ere! Show yourselves!" She barked.

That little distraction was enough to draw the water buffalo's attention. Duik nudged Fie. "Dude, you better go while the going's good!"

The buffalo along with three kangaroos, a lion and a bear appeared before them. Duik watched from the bushes and though he recognized one of them. then it clicked in his mind. It was Boris! Boris the bear agent that went rogue. He was heading the exchange...only...there wasn't any sign of Strong...

"Bro, non-bros, do you read me? Boris is leading these guys."

"What? You sure?"

"Sure as I have spots."

Alec had barely managed to sneak around the entourage of animals. He thought he'd been caught twice when one of them turned and scented the air in his direction. But they turned back both times. With Gigi's challenge he was able to make it to his sniper point. He had gotten Duik's message just seconds before. Now Totus came in.

"I read you Totus, hang on while I try to get an angle on them."

There was not entrance to the small tower, so Alec took the sniper rifle he'd gotten from the van beforehand and slung it over his back. Scaling the wall was hard, but inch by inch Alec managed to scramble his way into the second story crawl space. He examined the rooftop and could just make out the two men stationed there. He spoke calmly into the headset, hopefully Xiao and Ash had turned theirs on by that point.

"I see the snipers, I can take them out from here. There's one more buffalo hidden from you, and I'd bet there are a few more. Try and get the Rogues to give up whether they actually have Strong here...and be careful."

The bear came to stand a few meters in front of Gigi. "Well, I didn't expect them to tell you what was going on. Welcome My dear miss Canine."

Gigi didn't say a word to the bear, but looked back at Xiao and Ash. They should be negotiating she decided, and she couldn't trust herself not to say something that might anger the bear and put them all at risk.

Simon tumbled over the table with the Leopard, the pare hitting the ground pretty quickly and tumbling a few feet away from the table. Simon was on his feet fists up and ready to defend himself from mauling teeth and a tornado of claws. But the leopard just laid on the ground quietly twitching and foaming at the mouth, while the others continued to fight. It took Simon a moment of reflection before he remember his gauntlets and chuckled to himself for forgetting the blasted things were still on his hands.

The sound of the fighting around him pulled him back from his thoughts as Limbo finally released the triggers of the Berettas. The surpressing fire had given the others the chances to take out the guards that had come out with the leopards, especially Zoe and Luness. Jimbo dropped down to his knuckles and hurried after Calista and Simon as they took off down the halls. Simon smiled at Calista's comment about the bodies, but when the team reached the tunnel and were met with a wall of fur and steel, that smile vanished.

At the sound of Calista's retreat Simon gritted his teeth and ducked behind the corner with Calista and the others. The sound of the machine guns going off ringing in his head made it hard for Simon to think. Jimbo was looking around and noticed the power cables running the ceiling that Calista had notice.

"If we cut through that, think the lights will go out? Then Beth and I can take them out with our night vision?"

Eos sat in an uneasy silence as he listened to the reports of others. He expected that the Rogues would not bring Strong here for the exchange, that would have been way too obvious. He, however, knew not the precise number of enemies which were lurking in the shadows so he dared not to move until the others gave a positive order to advance.

" I have a bad feeling about this... " he whispered " They seem to be too... satisfied with this meeting. Something is amiss. "

Rin scooped Haku up, it would only be a few minutes until Haku had fully digested her meal. Yet another thank you for the bastards at Takeda Corp. He turned in time to see the scene with Leandra play out and he chuckled to himself before they were all running again. "You okay?" He managed to ask her before he came to a skidding halt at the end of the tunnel. He stopped himself in time when he saw everyone else waiting and the gunfire erupted. He had his Katana at the ready, pondering Simon's question. Rin responded to his question with a nod as he looked back up to the ceiling. He twisted the guard and the blade started humming with electricity again. "Let's see Simon!!" He called out as he threw the blade up, severing the bundle of cables and wires. Sparked flew out, a loud crack filled the air, ending the momentary silence of the gunfire. Rin braced himself, lowering Haku who was almost back to her regular size.

Xiao Hui looked over at Ash, hearing his jest as she stared at him, blinking in shock and a little embarrassment as her face flushed. How did it not work on him? "Let's not have you distracted, then, shall we?" She teased lightly, gathering her thoughts together, avoiding any contact with the man that caused her to melt into pudding just by his flirtatious words. "We have a mission to do as you said and it seems that you can't kick the bucket either, so we shouldn't have anything on our mind but our goals, yes?" Xiao Hui said sternly as her eyes scanned her surroundings. Usually, her tough acts worked, then again, she did crack a smile. Laohu chuckled, "You're losing your touch, Hui. Tsk tsk." His ears perked, for any signs of the Rogues and any different scents that he could sniff out. Turning her head towards Laohu, she frowned slightly, "I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing." Taking the time to prepare herself, while Ash began calling out other orders, Xiao Hui took a look at the hair tie on her wrist and gently grabbed her hair into a high pony tail, as she secured it with her hair tie. Finally, with her long hair that reached her back out of the way and out of her face, Xiao Hui heard Bael's voice as she turned to look at where Cedar had gone and nodded towards him, glad to have him on the team. Hearing Falarion's outburst, Xiao Hui stiffled a giggle at

protecting Gigi as Laohu rolled his eyes, shaking his head, "I have a bad feeling about this." Hearing Ash taking control of the commands, Xiao Hui was glad he told Bael to hide somewhere close enough to them, but far from being seen, it wouldn't help if he was injured, plus it seemed that there's some plants around here that aren't all wilted, so Bael may have something to work with if he needed to cure someone with one of the herbs. Looking at Manjano, Xiao Hui found him quite different than his twin, Leandra, quite the distinct personalities they both were. Nevertheless, Xiao Hui waved slightly and spoke towards him, "We , or rather, I, haven't spoken to you but that doesn't mean I won't be concerned for your well-being too, plus it's nice to see and be with a fresh face. It's nice to have you on board, but be careful." She said sincerely before looking at Bael, "That includes you, but I doubt you'll do anything rash." Xiao Hui let out a small smile before nodding and agreeingwith the last debrief by Ash before heading their own way. Standing next to Ash with Laohu catching up and walking with Gigi and Falarion as Manjano was behind them, Xiao Hui made sure to be near Gigi, keeping a lookout if any suspicious movements happened. Turning on her communication device, Xiao Hui kept it in a place where she could hear but hidden it from view as they walked towards the meeting place.

Just as they made it to the meeting place, Xiao Hui heard Totus providing information on two snipers where Alec had mentioned before.
5 thugs on the ground, but hidden from plain sight? So, they chose to do what they did as well, waiting for a signal or anything that could cause an eruption. Laohu heard her thoughts aswell as Totus, fearing they may be walking into a mouse trap yet at the same time, they had plans of their owns. He could only calculate a 50/50 percent chance of things going their way. Hearing Gigi's voice, Xiao Hui looked at her, giving her a nod and a silent look that spoke "don't show fear". However, hearing Duirk, Xiao Hui and Laohu simultaneously frowned at the betrayal. But nevertheless, heard Alec's voice through the comms. Laohu's ears perked at the mention of a buffalo behind them, but not showing any signs of turmoil as he stood in his spot, patiently. Xiao Hui took Gigi's look and her silence as well as Alec's words as a sign to begin asking for information. Bringing herself in front of Gigi, Xiao Hui stared blankly ahead at the bear, not showing any emotions, as she spoke monotonously, "Don't get any closer, bear." She said calmly without any hint of disgust, "We have brought Miss Canine, I believe you have to show us your end of the bargain? It wouldn't be a fair trade without it." Xiao Hui said, egging them on slowly, yet, not enough to provoke the bear. "But, I must ask, why would you need Miss Canine? When our Agent is currently in your hold? Or is she not?" Hearing Eos' concern, Laohu silently spoke, "You're not the only one feeling that way. Stay alert." Moving only his eyes, Laohu looked around, seeing if there were any signs of Strong around the place and any strange smell among the group. "Duirk and Fie, how's your end?" He spoke through the comms lowly, and quickly, slow enough for the others to hear him, but fast enough that it looked as if his lips weren't moving.

Leandra and Luness quickly joined up with the rest of the group, though the pair quickly lagged to the back, as Leandra wasn't entirely keen on being put in the line of fire again.

Sure enough, Calista rounded a corner up ahead only to dive back, as gunfire flew down the tunnel, kicking up dust everywhere.

Coughing, Leandra put her back against a wall, her eyes wide with fear, as Luness connected her mind with Leandra's and worked to help keep her calm. Perhaps it hadn't been the best idea for Leandra to join the rescue team...

Oblivious to Zoe's adrenaline rush attack, Leandra soon was inching along the wall away from the group, as Rin attacked some cables nearby, sending sparks dancing about in the area. Was he trying to blow up the team?

Unsure of what to do for now, Leandra hung back from the group, Luness remaining on her shoulder and humming to the girl to help keep her calm in the moment despite her ever growing panic.

Falarion stiffened and felt the fur all over his body stand on end when the bear approached with his own team of animals.

Lowering his head and growling at the bear, Falarion then walked up to Gigi's side before lifting his lips and snarling at Boris while showing his teeth in a show of intimidation. He didn't like this situation one bit and knowing Gigi was in danger only made it worse for him.

Distracted by the enemy team, Manjano didn't even hear Xiao's words directed at him, as he quickly joined Falarion's other side and subconsciously raised his right hand near his hip, ready to quickly unholster his handgun from underneath his leather jacket if need be.

Luckily, all of his weapons were concealed underneath the leather jacket he was wearing, which was about half the size of a trench coat so as to keep all of his weapons hidden from the naked eye. That way, hopefully none of the baddies would feel the need to fight until Manjano actually revealed his weapons. Or so he hoped.

Quickly realizing that intimidating anyone before they had even started negotiating probably wasn't the best idea, Manjano moved his right hand to Falarion's shoulder and then thought, Mate, calm down. We can't pressure them into fighting so soon into the negotiation. We aren't going to let anything happen to Gigi.

Shutting his mouth and stopping his snarling, Falarion continued to glower at Boris, though he stopped making attempts at intimidating the bear so that he hopefully didn't anger him or anything. Especially since he doubted he could handle Boris on his own.

Zoe watched eagerly as the others discussed the possibilities of what needed to be done and she was glad that Rin came up with a rather bold move. The moment the wires were cut and they got a moment of respite she dashed to the corridor, arming herself with an explosive arrow, shooting it into the darkness. While it did not have enough power to mortally wound any of their enemies it did serve her as a flare to locate when exactly the shocked animals were. Immediately she readied an another arrow - this time armed with liquid ice - and shot it, aiming at the ground, covering the hallways in a frozen plate.

The mercs and the animals were now in true panic - not only were they in utter darkness but now they were also assaulted by the others. The gunfire roared up momentarily, they trying desperately to attack the invaders but to no avail.

" Nice one, Rin. " Zoe nodded in acknowledgment " In the darkness they are nothing more than blond worms, struggling to survive. "

She felt the strange haze clouding her vision for a short time and this she needed to lean against the wall to catch her breath. She did not expect that shooting few arrows would be this draining. Turning to the others she now spoke up, her voice being clear.

" Now is the time to strike! They are in disarray, you can finish them! "

@andujarprime @SilverFlight @zCrookedz @Flutterby @Lioness075

As sparks flew the dim lighting that had been washing over the hallway suddenly died. With the gunfire silenced Calista pounced on the chance.

"Luness, gimme a flare! Blind those jerks so they can't adjust. Everyone else! Charge!" Calista made sure to close her eyes before leaping out. Giving the phoenix a chance to do her thing.

The ice spread over the floor, licking the walls as it went.

They had to be careful, just because the gunners were blind, didn't mean they wouldn't try to shoot, all they had to do was point straight. The corridor was narrow enough that they were likely to hit things at torso height. Calista ducked low, scurrying along a wall and slid between the shields, taking care to dig her claws into the slippery ice-covered floor. Her night vision was excellent.

A scream from on of the mercs told the group the fight had been initiated and in a flash, all hell broke loose. One of the boars surged forward, trying to escape the thing that had just savaged his leg, he slipped however and went down, sliding toward the watch agents at an uncomfortable speed. The Merc Calista had attacked first hit the ground and his gun went off in an unknown direction.

The constant stream of forward fire was gone, but bullets were still in the air. It was a very dicey situation.

Boris flicked his critical gaze to Xiao as she spoke. He smiled, a trait he still kept from his time with his human partner. "Ah my dear, straight to the point I see."

Suddenly chimps, each armed with a viscious looking automatic weapon stepped in front of the gate they had come in through. The buffalo emerged as well, also blocking their escape.

"I only needed you here. I'm afraid there won't be anymore information given, or a trade..." He turned to the lackeys beside him. "Capture the poodle, kill the rest."

Alec cursed, he could hear the bear's words through Duik's earpiece who was close enough to pick up the voice.

"Well that went pear-shaped faster than I thought." He caught sight of the snipers taking aim and raised his own weapon. The rifle bucked and one sniper went down, a perfect headshot. He fired at the other but he ducked before Alec could preposition properly.

"Still a sniper up there! Find cover and watch out for the buffalo!"

At this Duik blinked in surprise. Two of the kangaroos bounded forward, special footwear they sported carrying blades just above their claws. One went for Xiao, the other for Ash.

The chimps were now blocking the way back to the bus but for now they hadn't taken aim. Things however, still looked bad.

As Luness led Leandra to a piece of debris to sit on and stay away from the combat zone, she overheard Calista calling out to her for a flare.

Once Leandra was settled and had her staff in her lap in case anyone tried to flank them, Luness quickly flew into the corridor and then grew incredibly bright until her light was blinding and the enemy was dazed.

The moment the enemy was dazed, Luness let her feathers grow dull again before her eyes instantly adjusted to the dark and she screeched before flying at one of the boars nearby and gauging out his eyes with her talons.

Meanwhile, Leandra nervously looked about the area, her eyes not adjusting quickly to the dark setting at all, which only served to make her heart race that much more.

Hearing gunfire down the hall where Luness had just flared, Leandra nervously reached out to the phoenix with her mind only to instantly retreat in fear when she saw what Luness was doing to the boar.

This was not good, not at all. In fact, this was downright terrible. Not to mention the fact that Leandra totally didn't feel up for fighting people who were armed with guns...with a freakin' fancy piece of wood!

As they were turned on, Falarion instantly tackled Gigi to the side, managing to roll with her behind some cover, which was helpfully near them when all hell broke loose.

Meanwhile, Manjano quickly pulled out one of his throwing knives and whipped it at Boris before diving to the side, finding cover opposite of Falarion and Gigi.

Pulling out his handgun, Manjano then blindly reached over his cover before putting out a few rounds at the enemy in a vain attempt to make them take cover as well, also hopefully giving his teammates ample time to find their own cover before that sniper got to anyone.

Not a second or so later, Manjano quickly stopped firing, as Falarion burst from his cover and let out a snarl before leaping up and tackling one of the kangaroos to the side, knocking down the one that had been going after Xiao.

As the two rolled, Falarion quickly scrambled to his paws, but not before the kangaroo managed to kick out at him, landing a wound to his recently healed shoulder.

Yelping as he flew back a few feet before landing and sliding, Falarion's eyes widened, as the kangaroo got back to his feet. This was definitely not going as planned.

Behind his cover, Manjano winced, as he briefly felt Falarion's initial wound pain before it went away a few seconds later.

Muttering a curse under his breath, Manjano broke his cover before aiming his handgun at the kangaroo who had just attacked Falarion.

Ash was ready for this, he had to talk long enough to stall while figuring out if Strong was really there. Simple enough, he talked to many people and one thing was for certain he was good at it. Hell he could get a suicidal man who had nothing to live for to not jump off a bridge. As he stood there with the others he was silent and when the bear appeared he was shocked for a moment, he remembered that he saw this creature when he did that small briefing before he was called away. Even though he was shocked he kept a straight face with a small smile laced on his lips as he locked eyes with the bear. He already had a plan swirling in his head. However....before he could start, Xaio...was blunt, and straight to the point... Pretty much the exact opposite of stalling.

When this happened Ash felt his stomach drop a bit, he knew what this meant. This was going to be bad, and gods was he right. Closing his eyes for a moment he listened as to Alec cuss. He shook his head and looked at Boris with a honest sadden look. "I hate taking lives...." he said as he watched the kangroo bound after him. When it did he took his hands out of his pocket and stared it down ready now ready for a fight despite the fact he wished it hadn't come to this.

Before all the chaos erupted Fie had bolted the moment Duik told him he should go while the going was good. He got to the bus moments before Xaio spoke and in there grabbed exactly what he had forgot before. His hands were full and his back overflowing but soon enough he got it. Just as the apes started to block the bus Fie was already out and hiding in the bushes staying low and quiet. "Ashy I got the crying gas." Fie whispered in the com.

A smirk went on his face as he nodded. "Use it on the buffalo and chimps, blind them for now. Totus, dive at the sniper and make him get out of cover so Alec can deal with him." He said as he took a step back. His hand went into his bag just as the kangaroo throw a punch to his face. Moving to his left he barely dodged the first blow and quickly regained himself. Pulling his hand from his back he was holding two spheres the size of Tennis balls. "Xaio! Think fast!" He shouted as he threw them down. When he did they instantly erupted causing smoke to give him and Xiao a bit of cover. The smoke was dense making it near impossible to see through, only shadows were seen and those weren't accurate. Using this to his advantage Ash instantly moved to the side and stabbed the kangroo in the flank before swiftly moving away as the animal tried to attack him with a powerful kick. After wounding the creature Ash moved away to the cover hoping Xaio had not gotten lost in the smoke and like him got out in time.

As this happened there was a sound of gas, and at the buffalo and chimps feet, a canister of powerful tear gas was letting loose it's contents. Being anywhere near that stuff would be utter hell, not fatal if you get out of it soon enough but even if you get out.... You are still going to feel like crap. "Stay away from the mist, it's tear gas." Ash said in a low voice so only those with coms could hear

Rin, poised for the darkness that followed took a mental note of everyone's position before shutting his eyes tight to Luness' flare. Haku had taken the hint as well and turned away. Rin jumped and grabbed the blade from where it was, he followed the sounds of Calista's claws scraping, then the gun fire. He and Haku poked their heads around the corner, just in time to see a bore sliding towards them along the ice. With a yikes, they both pulled back. the bore stopped sliding and tumbled past them to lay in a heap. As it bega to adjust itself Haku rushed over to the exposed underbelly and bit down in a snap. Rin rounded the corner on all fours, his Katana gripped in his teeth. He ran past Luness who was engaging the second boar, the gunfire roaring haphazardly overhead. He felt a burning shooting pain and he bit down on the katana handle, fighting the urge to scream as a stray bullet buried itself into his shoulder. The adrenaline in his body was pumping at full speed as he scurried forward then rolled past the guards feet. In the dim lighting he came up, his blade rising at an amazing speed, slicing his target clean through the leg. The edge of the blade was glowing orange, like back in the lab. The ends of the severed limbs were black and crisp, cauterized by the super heated blade. He turned to face another merc, a heat signal from Haku's mind flashed in his head, showing more coming from the opening just ahead. "We have more company!" He said as he cut down the man, or woman trying to take aim at him in the darkness. Haku was still making her way across the floor, she came in sliding past Calista's merc and bit into him to hold herself in place and finish him off.

Well, that didn't last.

Did you really think this was going to work out?

I know -- I just...

Falarion.

Immediately, Bael was out of his hiding spot and had retrieved his whip and had it at the ready almost before he realized he reached for it. He looked around, picking out where the maned wolf was fighting. He didn't make it to the wolf: rather, he was stopped by another enemy tackling him down. Bael jerked a knee against his assailant and, realizing he was overpowered, he began to panic. He went after the enemy with his whip, striking across its face and then wrapping the tail around the beast's throat, but in a flash of anger at the whole situation, he sawed with it, ripping the whip back and forth and leaving burns behind, then electrocuted it. He scrambled out from under it, eyes wide, and looked around at the others.

The chaos in the darkness ensued and Zoe watched - well heard - as the others rushed into battle. Everyone except Leandra made their way to the battlefield and she felt compelled to follow them into the fray. She tried to locate the girl in the darkness and when she did she spoke up, determination and concern in her voice.

" Just stay safe, Leandra. " she said " Luness - and everyone - will handle this, just... well enjoy the view and relax. "

With that she surged forward, readying her bow once more. The clash of steel and the roaring gunfire made it almost impossible to find where everyone went and as good as her eyes were she could not adjust to the darkness like the animals of the group and those who had night vision equipped. Closing her eyes she focused on the voices instead - and noticed one sneaky merc trying to approach the group in the chaos. Opening her eyes she readied hr weapon and shot in the direction, piercing the chest of the assassin, immediately ending his sinister life - but it appeared that he was but one of the incoming reinforcements. Fighting ferociously she heard a whisper in the dark, the familiar voice which she had heard before.

" Yes, no mercy. Unleash your inner rage. " the sweet, melodious voice told her but she shook her head.

" Balance in ALL things. " she murmured " The equilibrium must be preserved. "

" Your trust weakens you. " the sly voice continued " These are not your friends, they will turn on you the first time they have the option to. "

Zoe turned around, delivering a roundhouse kick to yet an another merc, beating him with the bow itself before rushing to her next opponent. The voice, however, did not cease, its malignant, dark whispers continue to reverberate in what she thought was her mind.

" You need not these people. They slow you down, they shackle you. " it almost laughed " Your past glory can only be reclaimed by following that one path, the solitude you were destined to. Kill - "

" NO!" she exclaimed, striking down her third foe, trying to shut out the insidious whispers. As the arrow pierced the heart of her foe the vice suddenly vanished, giving a moment of respite for the girl. Approaching the dark figures she thought to be Rin and the others she hurried to them as fast as she could.

" We can do this for days, for sport it is good. " she commented, shooting a heart seeking arrow to yet an another human " But we have to figure out something, we can not hold out for much longer. We need a plan soon or we will adorn their walls as trophies. "

@SilverFlight @Lioness075 @andujarprime @Flutterby @zCrookedz

Boris spoke and soon enough the fight erupted. To be fair Eos was not surprised that the rogue animal betrayed them, the more surprising thing would have been had the bear actually kept his word, holding up his end of the bargain. For a few moments he stayed put, trying to assess the situation and to make a plan.

" We have to act soon, Laohu. This will only get worse. " he said, watching as tear gas enveloped the chimps and how the kangaroos rushed forward. The old stag tried to think hard " What would Zoe do, I wonder... "

He was thinking hard, the heat of battle and the constantly changing fight hindering the invention of the best plan. He looked around, trying to focus on something he could help with but it was more difficult than he anticipated. It was then, however, when he noticed two figures emerging from the entrance - the chimps somehow managed to avoid the choking gas altogether and while they were still a bit surprised by the clever assault their angry yells assured him that they will soon take revenge for this attack. Lowering his head he started to draw in the dirt.

" If we approach strategically from the flank... " he started, hearing the monkey yells intensifying and the sound of their weapons as they were armed. He paused for a moment, shaking his head, scratching the idea he was drawing. " Bah, who am I kidding let's just charge and take them out. "

It surprised even him how reckless this idea sounded - probably the bad influence of Zoe - but dire times called for dire solutions. With a bellowing roar he started a stampede, rushing at the mortified monkeys who were caught off guard by the massive stag rushing towards them. His antlers succeeded at disarming the animals, knocking them away and as the simians cried in anger and frustration their resolve seemed to strengthen. Now without their ranged weapons they drew machetes out to assault the old stag - who did not back down from the challenge. Dodging his assailants he kicked and struck them as many times as he could - though he had to admit that these were one tough animals. The fight did not promise to be an easy one but he enjoyed it nonetheless.

Beth could only look up and wish she was tall enough to reach yhe cables with her knife. Luckily, Rin took care of it rather quickly and the tunnel plunged into darkness. She switched to night vision, and closed her eyes. But she hadnt had time to think about it; the bright flash made the nightvision useless for a few horribly long moments. She swore colorfully, stuck until the glasses cleared. When they did, she drew her knife. There were more people coming down the hall, and in an athletic leap, she cleared the section of ice and put the blade deep in the chest of the first enemy.

It really was like hunting, the time she had run out of ammo and hadnt gathered the courage to go down to buy some. She had waited in a tree for a full day before a deer came down the path. In a way, this was no different.

Totus circled above, scanning the ground below. He listened in on the coms, but could only catch snippets of the enemies. He glanced away, at a large bird that seemed a little suspicious, and then suddenly the ground below him was in chaos. A shot rang out, and one sniper fell. The other took cover, and Totus tucked his wings and dove that way. Ash's voice crackled in his ear and he clacked his beak. "Way ahead of you." He muttered, as his wings unfolded and his talons extended. But he didnt waste time chasing the merc out of hiding for Alec. He was naturally armed with talons meant to kill, and human throats were unprotected and fragile. The sniper's body slumped to the ground before he could even react. Totus hopped onto the ledge of the school, leaving bloody prints on the edge, and took off back toward where the group was battling. "Does anyone have eyes on Gigi?"

The kangaroo Falarion tackled fell and rolled with him, but he was expertly trained, once the wolf was off him he rolled and came up, facing down Manjano. Instead of charging forward he leapt up, spinning once and using the momentum to send one of his toe blades racing for Manjano's throat. After that he landed, dove sideways but was caught by Bael's whip. The kangaroo kicked out once before he was shocked and slumped to the floor, completely unconscious.

The third kangaroo leapt in front of Boris and caught the knife on his protective vest. It seemed all the animals fighting here had good protection, they certainly hand't come unprepared. Boris growled and stormed forward.

Gigi had yipped in surprise when she was tackled to safety. She hit a bush right beside the stone barrier and her fluffy coat snagged in the branches. She struggled and pulled, trying her best to work herself free when suddenly she found Falarion had been knocked away and Manjano was dealing with another enemy.

@Lioness075 @Sleipnir

The kangaroo that had attacked Ash winced as the smoke filled his face. The blade meant to pierce his side was stopped however by his thick, protective vest. He grunted and bounded sideways, searching for his target, not finding Ash he listened for a moment, hearing movement beside him he lashed out, aiming a solid, slashing kick straight at Xiao.

@Peaceswore @crucialstar

The chimps reeled backward, still affected by the gas, their blades were still dangerous however and as they swung them around they kept Eos on his toes.

The buffalo had been hit too and from his hiding spot Duik could see the beast tear out of the cloud bellowing with rage. Duik grabbed a broken branch laying by one of the trees and with one turn lobbed it in the creature's path. His long legs became tangled in the wood and the earth shook as he went down.

@DawnAntalios

As Ash dodged for cover there was a snort and a stamp just behind him. The second buffalo, the one Alec had spotted was directly behind him, and extremely mad. With a bellow he lashed out with his vicious horns.

@Peaceswore

Gigi was about to run for Falarion when something grabbed her and lifted her up none too gently. She yelped in pain as Boris' strong forelegs imprisoned her.

"Stand down!" The bear roared, emphasizing his command by holding a set of wicked looking claws to Gigi's throat.

"Anyone of you even tries to shoot I guarantee you I will kill your poodle before I die."

Alec had made sure to put a bullet in the sniper Totus had attacked, if only for good measure. When he turned his attention back to Ash and the rest of the team however he only saw a cloud of smoke.

"Ash! What the heck did you do?! I can't give you any cover fire in this!"

He heard Boris' roared threat and pounded a fist on the stone floor. Things looked even worse now.

Back in the catacombs Amber struggled against her bonds. They had started up the machine, fitting her with some sort of injection device and a band that was tightened bout her head. She could feel the prick of several needles in the back of her neck and suddenly began to feel much worse. The hum of the instruments seemed to fade. As the device continued she felt her consciousness begin to slip. Suddenly the lights flickered and died and the machine quieted. Amber started to return to herself. She heard fighting in the distance and forced herself to be more aware. She reached into the back of her mind, to where Calista's presence was always. She grasped the bond and with all her might screamed into it.

Calista's head jerked upright.

"Its Amber! She's here! She's in trouble!" But a wayward bullet forced her to ducked again with another colourful curse.

Up ahead she saw that the tunnel split again.

"When we push past the next wave I want two people down that path, if we can flank them we can beat them!"

Drake snarled at the technician, "Get the power back on! We're finishing this!"

"But Sir! I don't know if there's enough power in the backup generator, we need to get the lights back so our soldiers can see."

"Finish the transfer! Send all mercenaries to the conflict point. They do NOT get into this chamber, understood!"

The alpha raced to a table as the technician went to hook up their auxiliary power source.

"If they do get through, this'll be a nice surprise for them..." The wolf chuckled to himself.
