As a rule of RP until the GM recognizes an action or it has been reached as a group consensus post the action and the action was the result of major drama, a post or chain of posts can be retconned in sake of improving the result if it was so completely undesirable that it threw the game way beyond into drama territory. At this point i feel a retcon may be necessary, despite my reluctance to go with that over what the game had decided would happen, instead because I would rather just move on.
It's not canon until it's recognized officially by the host. That's how most of the people I know run their games, and it's how I run mine. If you think of another action to take that you really wish to retcon for? It's fine to. Your choices have consequences once locked in, though. And they become locked in only when I hit the post reply button.

It is actually a rule for RPN that the GM reserves the right to deem an action/scene non-canon as per the storyline. So, you are correct.

That is my view. While legally by rules I can retcon up until he posts, morally retconning an action because I now know of the consequences is also meta gaming and wrong.


I'm angry I couldn't tell you were acting more nefarious then usual, but not that I couldn't retcon in time.


Wed still be there is the irony. Because I planned for Grace to discover her magic by accident. My fault was not being a fucking telepath and knowing I was on a Torterra, instead of surrounded by wild beasts.

It may be, but it's your choice to make there.


It is survival at that point, this game is a lot more than just doing an action just because you think it's right or wrong.


You lot are allowed and encouraged to plan against my set ideas. If it involves a little metagaming here and there, as long as it does not outright cause a problem with the game itself (like choosing to widthold or switch your attacks in combat in favor of a more fun, flashy, effective combo) then so be it.


As players, I trust you whole-heartedly to not derail the game and take advantage of the medium to the best of its ability. The game has so much freedom and so many possible outcomes due to the fact that I give you all a lot of room to do as you so wish.


So, play against me. It will only make the game better, in that sense.


Just don't go breaking the game.

Currently, this would not be the best time for a new character to shoe up, we have giant monsters in one group and a gigantic fire in the other. When things settle down, I will tag you in a post and let you join in.

Eclaire sprinted towards Jennifer Shepard, skidding to a stop by her. She winced at her burned side, pressing a hand against the tortured flesh. "Giant slug, giant tortoise, and we're scattered. Got any ideas on what to do?" She wasn't experienced at this, this thing was out of her control. Really, what the hell was she supposed to do? She just had a sword and probably some unknown powers.
What was she supposed to do, dammit.

Aurelius was so done with this that, as he hurtled towards imminent doom he spun and just shouted the first thing that came to his mind.


"Dragon up!"





Then shit got extremely real, because Aurelius wasn't just some kid or Natsu or something. No, he was in fact a motherfucking dragon. And not some small one like Jake Long, an eighty meter long Chinese dragon. And as he flattened a dozen trees with an extremely bad landing/takeoff combo, he twisted through the sky.


"...I didn't expect this." He intoned. His eyes now on the giant monster, not the tortoise, Aurelius snorted smoke. Two people were flying away, so he hoped that they were the last. With a mighty roar, the Storm Dragon King unleashed the hellfire of a full blooded Dragon, engaging the giant enemy with long-range attacks, as he kept his distance, circling above like a C-130.

Grace had been knocked down, hard, and she was out of it. Groaning for a minute, she stumbled up, only to fall. "H...hello? I...is anyone there?" She called, unable to stand. She couldn't regain her balance, hell, she couldn't even regain focus. Unfocused and shaky, she couldn't really see at the moment. "H...elp? A...anyone? Is...is anyone there?" She called. Tears welled up, the girl crawling forward a bit. "Is...is anyone there?" She called. "Please...please don't leave me...I...I didn't mean it! I didn't mean I fire, I didn't!"


But all she heard were the roars of beasts and the sound of fire...she couldn't see anyone.


Grace collapsed.


She was alone.

Plains is able to see the Giant Tortoise (I apologize for misspelling it by the way, I hadn't slept for about a full days worth of time at the time of writing that post) from where they're at. The giant slug and Tortoise are in Forest Cove group's area, friend.

The Tortoise and the slime creature are just that freaking big.

Fia Does not take a tick of burn damage this time around, despite being in fire. At that, somehow, a great revilation comes to her amidst the fire. Her moves become so precise and fantastic that she is able to kill the fire instantaneously, and at that, absorb what was not destroyed into a ball of pure light that she was able to restore her energy quite a bit as a result of, and it will not fade away. (serves as a ball of fire that cannot be destroyed permanently.)


New trait: Pyromancy Specialist added. Increases control over fire magic and allows one perfect control of live fires. (Critical Success x 3)





All status checks from here far out are canceled as a result. Everyone in Dying Planes is safe, for now. All is well...

Her wings darkened and wilted dramatically as she reached a good height above the ground. Smiling once again at Jah'Ri, from her kind comment, her pain subsided a little, numbed by the happiness she now felt. But, that didn't mean her body was going to be able to handle this. Gradually, she approached the forest floor beneath her, hoping to prevent the damage the incoming event was going to cause. Sighing apologetically, she whispered, "I'm... sorry", before collapsing a few meters away from where the others were. Luckily, she hit a leafy bush, cushioning her fall. She quietly hoped Jah'Ri was well enough to deal with this sudden event..before Xenith finally blacked out completely. @DergTheDergon
