Tomomi
Feeling like it would be giving up to Calum, Tomomi stubbornly refused to apologize like Grov did. Instead, she puzzled over the riddle he had given them until the massive noise of Grov clapping startled her, almost causing her to jump off of the (secretly comfortable) perch that was his head. She didn't mind, though, and watched Grov's magic at work in amazement. "Woah~ Grov, you're an earth mage? That's so cool! I can't use magic at all..." She looked down at Grov, then started wondering about something. "Hey, Grov, is it uncomfortable for me to be up here? I can get down if you want..." She was a bit reluctant, but she knew that it might be a bit awkward for Grov to have someone sprawled on top of him.

Grov looked up to the little one said "It does not bother me so if you whish to stay that is fine and yes I am an earth mage of quite some talent even if I do say so myself. I've been practicing for a long time." He said with a hint of pride.

Sana Guineth - Majabong Market

It was talking? Though there was some distance between them, she was sure of it, it was unlike anything the girl had seen before. A small figure appeared atop, within sight, a child? Could it be possible that...? Sana's attention was cut off as the knight began to approach. He seemed pleased, though she knew it was he who had prevented their injuries. The silence did not last long as Sana began to speak, looking up toward the man. "Thank you... If not for you they may not have been so lucky." She stated, her voice soft and somewhat timid. As she finished her sentence, Sana's eyes drifted to the dead around them, her expression turning to a deep frown at the sight of it.

After a short moment the girl's face gradually snapped back toward the gunslinger, not wishing to offend the man. "Sana Guineth, a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She smiled with a slight curtsy toward the man, attempting to put on a more friendly tone, though a saddened tinge still remained. As she awaited the possible response, Sana could not help but have her eyes drift back toward the golem before connecting themselves back toward the man's eyes on several occasions, who knew what its presence could mean.

Chapter 1: Trial of Spirit
"IT IS TIME, I SHALL REVEAL THE WAY TO THE ALTAR. BE SURE YOU ARE READY TO SET OUT BEFORE EMBARKING. THE PATH AHEAD OF YOU WILL BE TREACHEROUS." The Titan's voice rang through your heads once again, after a few seconds you hear a loud ring as if from a bell that echoed through the city. The guards and citizens looked up in alert to the sound they haven't heard in 50 years. The Altar had been revealed... but where was it? "COME, FIND THE ALTAR. ONLY THOSE PURE OF SPIRIT CAN SEE THE TRUE LOCATION OF THE ALTAR."

Calum Revus
Calum heard the voice and bell and looked to Sana, "And so... your trial begins. Forgive me, I have more pressing matters to attend to, so I cannot participate in the trials." He bowed before Sana then started to walk off. For now, he had to meet with the Council. He lended all the assistance he could to the golem and Halfling, he just hoped they took his word to heart. He may have made a bad first impression, but of them all he was a veteran of the trials and knew more they ever could.

Tomomi
Tomomi looked at the temporary gate once again with Grov's words, nodding to herself. "You're definitely better than any earth mage I've seen!" Even her father's dwarf friend couldn't make something that large, and he was often praised as the best.

Her ears perked up, and then she had a wide smile. "Grov, the altar's appeared! It sounds like we won't be able to come back after we enter, though, and you still need to take the cart to the farmer... How about we split up? I'm going to go somewhere really high and look around, and then I'll come back to you at the marketplace and tell you what I see! How does that sound?" Not wanting to leave the kind golem behind, but also wanting Grov to uphold his promise to the farmer, Tomomi made the compromise between the two and proposed it. "Oh, and if we do that, I'll need you to take the bag... Climbing high is really difficult with it, sorry."

Grov nodded and lifted the cart under one arm like a keg. "I think that would be the best." He looked up at the little one and said. "I would be happy to hold your bag, I'll be waiting after I finish delivering the cart. Please though do be careful." He said with a worried tone.

Tomomi
"Yeah, I'll be careful!" Tomomi jumped down from Grov's head, taking off the backpack and setting it in front of Grov. Before she sped off, Tomomi rummaged through the pack, grabbing her swords just in case. "Seeya at the market!" Her sights set on a cathedral-like building further inside town, Tomomi ran off at an unbelievable speed now that she was free of the extra weight.

Connor Knightwalker
Connor finally lifted himself off the bed, holding his aching head with a despairing look in his eyes. "It wasn't the alcohol..." With a large sigh, he walked down to the first floor of the building, the bar he had been in last night. Charles was normally out with friends at this time, so the place was empty. Loosening his purse, he took out quite a few gold coins and nabbed a bottle of what he was drinking last night, leaving the coins in the place that the bottle had occupied on the shelf. "Sorry my friend, I have places to be. Perhaps another time." Leaving these parting words without a note to convey them, Connor left the bar - only to trip right back inside. A beastman child had ran by at enormous speeds and tripped him up. The bottle was safe in the cellar of a ruined house far, far away. He, however, was left with a sore buttocks and amazement at the impossible thing he just witnessed. Someone faster than sis?

Grov picked up the bag and with his loads in tow he headed deeper into the market and he started to hum a slow sad song. 'I wonder what she'll find?' he thought to himself as he finally found the farmers at the center of the market place. "Her you are good sir, you wagon." The farmer muttered a small thanks and gave him few golde coins for his trouble. He had no place to put but he did see few things he'd like so he bought a large sack and a rope to tie it to his waist. He then used the rest to by some different plants and seeds that could be useful. "Looks like all those centurys gardening have paid off yet again."

Kaiser August

Kaiser was meditating in the tower of a temple near the heart of the town as the sound of the World Spirit's echoed in his mind, glorious and terrifying he stood and looked out and saw a kind of serene beauty. "Gorgeous, even in dark days it's truly lovely," he spoke aloud as he closed his eyes. He stood there for several seconds before slowly opening his eyes wincing slightly like someone waking to the light of the sun. As they fully opened they had a dimly shining pale green hue, Kaiser had trained his eyes to see beyond the mundane and into the ebb and flow of the mystic forces. It was like peering into a river and watching the currents, some were vibrant churning and whirling, others were subtle and mysterious.

Tomomi
Tomomi scaled the brick walls like noting, easily reaching the rooftop of the building. She looked around the entire town, combing every area for the slightest bit of an unusual thing, but even using this highest vantage point she couldn't see anything. "Awww... Shucks, I can't see anything like an altar." Tomomi didn't return immediately, sitting down to think of everything. "Pure of spirit... I'm not? Calum said something... 'False hope. False hearts and false eyes.' Those are base nature... If I have one of those traits, and the world spirit still contacted me, there's a way to change myself~?" Tomomi's eyebrows furrowed, and she stood up in fury. "Ah, darn! Why can't this be something simple! I don't even know if it's inside the city!" Kicking her foot into the roof, a shingle broke and several more cracked under her temper tantrum. The roof made sure she felt it though, her boots failing to cushion much of the impact leaving her with a sore toe. "Owiee..."

After calming down, Tomomi took a deep breath and jumped from roof to roof, heading towards the noisiest part of town to report her findings. Luckily, finding an eight foot tall pile of red rocks in the commercial district wasn't that tough, and she stuck the landing next to Grov with a perfect roll to cancel out two story's worth of gravitational force. She looked up at the golem, which no doubt had hopes for her, and sighed. "I couldn't see it... I think my spirit isn't pure, or something. I'm sorry, Grov." Her ears flattened against her head out of shame, and her tail hung low brushing against the cobblestone road. "...B-but I'll definitely find the altar! There should be some way to make my spirit pure, and then-!" Realizing that she wasn't fixing anything by her childish bluster, she cut herself off and her tail hung even more. "What should we do...?"

Grov looked at the young girl as he thought "Pure of spirit huh.....maybe a healer or priest could help?" He said out loud but that reminded him. "Follow me." He rushed over to the healer he saw helping people a little while ago. As he neared her he asked "Hello Miss sorry to disturb you but you wouldn't happen to know of a temple anywhere around here would you."

Sana Guineth - Majabong Market

"Pure of spirit?" The voice had cut Sana's attention as she quickly mulled over the words, attempting to return to reality, the gunslinger still standing before her. Hopefully he had not taken her absent mindedness the wrong way, yet, as he finally spoke, Sana's face turned to confusion. What did he mean of trials? Did he know of the spirit's voice in her mind? There were many questions she now had, yet as he began to walk away, Sana thought better than to chase after him, who knew of how important these matters were to him. So she remained wordless, watching silently as the man left, before returning to her own business.

There was little point in wasting more time, the voice clearly did not sound interested in waiting, and neither was Sana, each day that passed only resulted in more horror to this world. Her people, including herself, were known for their high spirits, yet could she truly claim her own to be pure? She was not sure, nevertheless, she began to search over Majabong, circling around part of the town for any sign of this altar, the spirit claimed to wish to show the way after all.

Some time later...

It was no use, there was no sign, and now Sana had come back to where she had started. Perhaps her initial assumption was correct, but then how was she to find the altar? Possibly if she could find the knight he would know more. Looking around the market once more for the man, she began to mull over the thought. "Pure of spirit... A powerful mage or healer may have such spirit, but where to..." That is when a realisation came to her mind, while her's may not be pure, surely the Grand Healer's would, someone she knew to a slight degree.

Sana began to leave, before noticing a familiar figure rushing toward her, the sight of the massive golem charging over frightened her somewhat, causing her body to lean backward as her legs remained still, watching what she believed to be a construct closely. Yet it only had a simple request, and a convenient one at that, who was she to refuse its query, and perhaps she could learn more of what she wondered at the same time. "Indeed, I am heading to one of the main temples of Majabong now, if you wish to join me, or simply seek direction." She responded, attempting to keep her tone calm, yet the sight of it earlier, as well as the avalanche of a voice it possessed, sent shivers down her spine, heightening her breathing to a degree.

Another thought quickly came to mind however, the master of such a being was surely a master conjurer, perhaps they would have such a spirit that the girl required. "It is truly impressive that you may communicate through this construct so clearly, may I ask of your name?" The girl continued, her demeanour sincere, her tone nothing but friendly, oblivious to the creature's nature. As she finished her sentence, Sana noticed the small figure near the golem once more, though her vision of it was somewhat blocked off. Placing her hands toward her knees, Sana lent down slightly, eyes closed with a smile. "Why hello there child." She commented, not wishing to make her uncomfortable by ignoring her presence. As the girl came within better view, however, furred ears and tail coming within full sight when Sana's eyes opened once more, they opened wide in some shock. This was no human child, it was one of the outlanders, a halfling if she were to guess from her studies, though making more assumptions were likely not advisable. "I, my, uh... sorry." She attempted to force out, stuttering at her mistake.

"Thank you and I wouldn't mind but it's not up to just m......construct? I believe you are mistaken this is my body. I am no creation of magic but a living creature." He said trying to correct her nicely so as to not make her feel bad. "But don't feel bad I could see how you could mistake me for such, even the name of both my race and what you speak of are the same. As for my name, call me Grov." Randomfella Randomfella

Seeing that the woman didn't feel comfortable around her, Tomomi inched closer to Grov's leg with a frown. "Grov, I think she's scared of me... When she saw my ears, her expression didn't look too good..." Tomomi wasn't used to the negative end of reactions to Halflings, being raised in a city that was quite used to them and meeting only bandits, Calum, or nice people after leaving from there. She wasn't sure how to tell the woman that she wasn't going to bite, or even if the woman looked scared because she thought Tomomi would bite her. "What should I do...?" The only thing Tomomi could think of was putting her swords more out of the woman's sight, which she promptly did by turning a bit more.

"This is my body" The notion floated in Sana's mind for a short moment as she stood, stunned at the idea. This creature, or... Man? Was a living being, not simply held together by another's mana. Still, while he did not seem bothered by her comments, she could not allow such an offensive mistake to simply slide, even if she was not sure if what he stated was true. She had potentially offended two others within a few seconds of one another, great.
"My sincerest apologies, Grov." She replied, looking up at the massive construct before her, before bowing her head. "I suppose my lack of knowledge is a clear sign of youth, your race seem quite... Magnificent." Sana continued, attempting to find the right words to express. To say such a being was interesting would be an understatement, yet she did not have the time, nor did she wish to offend by prying further.

The girl beside him, standing far below the constructs height, did not seem pleased by Sana's words, though not in the way that she had anticipated. Perhaps she was a child after all? Though what child carried such weaponry? Looking back down toward her, Sana bent down slightly to meet the girl's level. "While I do not doubt you know how to use those, I am not afraid, simply concerned I had offended." She smiled once more, before holding a hand out in greeting toward what she believed to be a Halfling. "Sana Guineth, lovely to meet the both of you." She stated, looking up toward Grov, before back at the smaller girl. "I am a healer, of sorts... As are many in the temple" She continued in a friendly tone, though calling herself a healer caused it to waver to some anxiety, as if she was unsure of exactly how much truth the words held.

Tomomi
When hearing that the woman thought that she had offended her, Tomomi quickly stepped out from behind Grov's leg which she had inched behind and shook her head. "You didn't offend me at all! I'm seventeen, but in my family that's the same as eight for a human!" Glad that she could ease Sana, Tomomi had gone straight to that rather than introducing herself. "My name's Tomomi! It's nice to meet you, Sana!" Tomomi got close and held out her hand, showing clearly that she was just a little over half the height of the woman (Tomomi is 3'1).

Grov nodded at the woman's apologie and said "It's no problem, I've been around a long time and have had quite a few people make the same mistake." Watching the little one step from behind his leg and offer her hand he chuckled. "I would shake your hand but most are uncomfortable shaking hands with a person of my size."

Scourge Attack
From the ground, a black boned arm reached up and grabbed Tomomi's leg. Everywhere around them, the citizens ran;

"Undead in the city!"

It was true, undead chased the citizens. The arm that grabbed Tomomi let go and disappeared into the ground and instead a few feet away popped up there. It seemed to push down on the ground and pulled itself out. It was a full fledged Bonelord, clad in steel armor and wielding a large double-headed battleaxe, it stood at 9'5" tall. It stood there, staring at the three with glowing red eyes. It looked like finding the Altar would have to wait, they would have to fend off the Bonelord.

"Eei!" Before the hand that grabbed her could disappear, Tomomi reflexively grew claws on her right hand and stabbed at the arm. It only left superficial marks on the bones, but it served to keep her together. When the hand released her leg disappeared, she immediately jumped back from that position, unbuckling the short sword sheath and all from her belt. Showing her group combat experience that came from being a soldier's daughter, Tomomi immediately stated the best course of action while it was still coming out of the ground. "Grov, I'll be a distraction, you deal the damage! It's undead so just bash it's skull in with all you've got! Ms. Sana, please do whatever you can!" Showing a serious side she hadn't had to yet, Tomomi immediately charged forward, raising the sheathed short sword. She dashed around the bonelord, spinning the sword straight into the side of its right knee in hopes of crippling it. Sadly, the knee was too high for the small Tomomi, and without the full force being transferred the makeshift blunt weapon bounced off the bone. Undaunted, Tomomi took one more strike, this time at the left ankle, before quickly running away in hopes that she had made the undead mad enough to have its full attention.

Seeing the bone lord Grov changed straight towards it and cast a spell. "Stone prison!" As the words left his mouth he sent a mana pulse into the ground and chains made of stone sprung out of the ground an tried to bind the undead. As this happened Grov kept running forward and as he got close enough through a punch at the creatures head as hard as he could.

The Bonelord spun it's axe around, full force in a swirling storm of bones, breaking the Stone Prison and jumping back with surprising agility for a steel armored clad bone monster, "Uulwi ifis halahs gag erh'ongg w'ssh!" It slammed the axe into the ground and striped the armor off until it just bone (lewd). It gained a much higher agility ability now, "A thousands deaths.... or one murder.... your petty quarrels only make us stronger." It grabbed the axe and went to strike at Grov with full force, it spun the axe around. If the attack would miss, the axe would hit the ground with such force that it create a small crater on the impact area, "Y'rr n'yleth shuul anagg."

Grov seeing the attack coming and stomped and said "Titan Shield!" And a large shield shaped wall covered in glyphs that glowed a deep green and as the axe hit the shield they blazed brighter. Sana Guineth - Majabong Market

Sana nodded with a short smile toward Tomomi. "What a wonderful name, my kind too age slowly, though perhaps not to the same degree." As the short girl's hand move out, Sana almost wished to close the gap and pat head of the excited halfling, but instead moved toward a more formal greeting. "I suppose we had better b... AH!" She began to speak, her hand still not having reached the child's, though as a hand reached out from under the ground to grab the halfling, Sana's hand and body leapt back in fear, her breathing turning rapid and heavy..

Sana's mind went blank, all that was instilled within her as the massive bonelord emerged was fear. Tomomi's words went in one ear and out of the other, deafened by shock, she became unresponsive for a split second. Then she ran.
Not a long distance, mind you, chaos seemed to be everywhere, and the long robes didn't exactly make it easy, but far enough to get a few meters from the immediate action and hide behind a stand. They were so brave, Grov was a massive golem, sure, but he was still brave. As for Tomomi... The sight of someone who was not even ten to her own people charging in with what seemed like fearlessness, it brought only shame to the cowering girl. As for the creature they faced, it was unlike anything she had ever seen, a massive being under the control of the Scourge. Who knew of its pain? Though its actions made it clear it could not be allowed to remain.

Tomomi
"Darn!" Tomomi ran back to the Bone lord, cursing the foulest word she knew. Grov had attacked just a second too early, and attracted the bone lord's attention. Tomomi had failed as a distraction, and the bone lord was fully focused on Grov. She saw Sana run and hide out of the corner of her eyes, perhaps the most reasonable reaction out of their group. The smooth sailing battle had become rough, all because of her inability to guide the two towards a quick victory.

Left with no other path to be useful, Tomomi ran towards the bone lord's back, scaling the now bare bones with inhuman swiftness. If she were successful, she would grab onto it's rib bones and kick off it's spine, only to repeatedly kick the spine with the hardest force she could muster before falling back down from the force of Grov's boulder in a less graceful manner than her usual.

Scourge Attack
The surprise attack from Tomomi made the Bonelord's attempt to make a bone shield, fail. The boulder hit the Bonelord and shattered his bones, seemingly defeated the golem bought the team some time. After a minute of silence, the bones around the group began to rattle and shake before moving to a central location and swirl around it. It seemed to construct something, when the construction was done, a four-armed monstrosity. It lost all speech it had before and instead let out a ferocious roar. The Bonelord was now a Bone Monstrosity, as soon as it was birthed it struck Grov, in succession, with it's four arms in furious swipes.
