Lost in my mind
(Why were we tagged? and @gogojojo331 are you going to post? The body is your story addition after all.)
Milus stopped a couple yards away from the body, gathering his composure and casting a glance at the girls and the bison. He hoped that Amita would be able to distract Ila. Kids don't need to see something like this, he thought gravely. He took a few more steps until he was directly above the body, willing himself to tune out the abhorrent smell. Only the corpse's backside was burnt, as it faced the sky and caught the fire, but the sight and stench would be more than enough to make most sick on the spot.
Milus put on an air of indifference and began his work by flipping the body over and exposing its front. He looked for discernible markings to identify him, but came up with nothing initially. Since Agito had already riffled through the deceased's pockets Milus didn't repeat the action. He sat back on his haunches, idly wiping his hands on his pants while considering the situation. If anyone came along, Ila included, they might think he or the others were responsible. Instinctively the man scanned the woods, but nothing moved save the leafy limbs swaying lightly in the breeze. For the umpteenth time that day, Milus sighed and wondered what he'd gotten himself into.
Rav'n sat down, suddenly exhausted from the whole ordeal. "Hey, think I could get my pack back?" He asked Raiko sheepishly, "I'm hungry and I think there's still some fruit in there." In reality the boy was still thinking about what Milus had said. A body? How had he missed it? Where'd it, he - or she, Rav'n considered- come from? Too many questions spun about his mind, making him dizzy. Hopefully some food would help him calm down and think.
