"Check when we entered the city," Era turned to him sharply, "Check when he died. We where long gone so we could have gotten hear way before dark." She shook her head, "Obviously you all didn't actually look. There is always proof. An Earthbender that focus' solely on the ground can tell you who was all there." She knew that from her grandfather.

"Hard to find evidence in a burned house. In any case, i have given the message i wanted to give i am not here to discuss our investigation." He said beginning to walk on in the street."I will be seeing you though i doubt you will see me though."

Era blinked before going to Yao and Aquita... A house was burnt? Why would a Firebender hurt someone that was giving information? It was all confusing.

Yao climbed down of the tree nearly tripping but was able to regain his balance." Wow... That was interesting... We dont have enough enemies with the fire nation now we have our own nation after us." He shook his head." No good dead goes unpunished."

Era sighed, "A fire bender did it, but why?" She clicked her reins so her bird would walk. Aquita followed, her ox moving side to side.

"Silencing him so he doesn't talk." He suggest climbing on Birdie." From what it sounded from the soldier, the mayor might have been a double agent and this was fire bender revenge? Or i have been hearing too many stories. "He said before sighing." Look let them watch us all they want, our part of this caper is done, all we are going to do is find our parents. That is all that matters."

Era went to argue but nodded, "Okay, lets go." She wasn't wanting to stay somewhere too long. Let them watch. They don't do anything wrong.

"Aquitta, speaking of family. How do they feel for daughter going about in a warzone?"He asked curiously trying to get his mind of the Dilee and he did want to know more about there new companion.

 

[Mae Renea]

Aquita looked at him confused, "My parents? They died when I was only a child. The Chief raised me, with the little number of Waterbenders he figured it would be safer if I left. The last Waterbender (the Blood Bender) got captured three days ago." She admitted as they continued on there way. Era listened to Aquita quietly, she rarely stayed this quiet.

"Sorry to hear about you parents. " Yao said feeling a little awkward at the can of worms he opened."Probably was the best thing for you though it foes sound counter intuitive... Yet another notch against the fire nation, an art form lost to a people. At least the northen tribe still has water benders."

Aquita nodded, "Yes, that is true." She smiled softly at Yao. She left to be safer, one day she was going to listen.

"Well... Eh..." Yao said awkwardly trying to maintain a conversation with her, not really liking the silence as they traveled. "Your chief sounds like a good man..."

"He was," she smiled in agreement. Her chief was a great man but getting older. Era cleared her throat, "Yao, lets quit the family talk until we get to ours..."

Yao smiled back at her as understanding seemed to get between them. Wen Era commented, he turned to her and nodded understanding that hearing about family wasn't the easiest to hear. He was different though he wanted to hear about families, to remember his fell there presence." Sorry, Era."

Era glanced over at him before she slowed the bird to walk beside him. "I'm sorry, Yao.... I'm not use to not having them."

"It ok." He said reaching out and putting a comforting hand on her back."I miss them too. We will see them again and then we will be sick of them all over again and want to leave them."

Era chuckled, he knew how to cheer her up. "Thanks," she gave him a small smile.

"No problem." He said smiling back especially since she smiled. He was sure what compelled him to do it then and there but he leaned over to her and gave her a peck on the cheek.

Era stopped the bird, she was frozen to the spot and her cheeks where red. "Wh-What was that for?" Aquita smiled looking at the two.


"Lets go ahead and camp in the clearing out that way."

"I...Eh... "He said as he released what he had done, becoming a little red himself. He rubbed the back of his neck wanting to crawl somewhere and hide." I just though... It seemed... It seemed appropriate for some reason... "He frowned and sighed in resignation."It is what it is. I have no explanation." He nodded at Aquita." Yeah sounds like a good idea."

Era looked to Aquita, thankful for the distraction, she was blushing still but a smile crept on her face. She looked back at the Yao. "Beat you to the clearing." She took off and Aquita chuckled. "Seems you made someone happy."

(Am sorting something out, trying to find a suitable event to bring him in. Have a though of two potential event we can try, a sort of salem witch trial in a earth town with everyone accusing each other as fire nation spies. Or have my other guy as rumor of a hidden hero "the good firebender" sort of thing.)


Yao chuckled at the call of a race and he looked over to Aguita. "That was my hope."He said before looking back at Birdie and gave it a light kick to get him going."Come one birdie, dont let the girl beat us."He took of but the distance Era was ahead of him was to much to catch up and she won."Oh...Man.."He said pretending to be sad losing.

Era chuckled, jumping down and three rock tents appeared and a hole for their fire. She looked to Yao. "Camp made you can make the fire." Aquita strolled up, her ox making a noise like he yelled at them.

"Ok." He said walking to a nearby tree to get some would which brought him in the path of the water ox as it yelled. "Wow, easy on the yell Oxy will make me deaf."He said almost been made to jump from the yell."What did i step on your hoof?"

"He was saying that if you tried to make him race he'll step on you." Aquita translated as she jumped up. "Its okay, buddy, you don't have to race." She kissed his nose and he made a content noise. Era rose her brow looking at her bird, "Do you talk?" He was silent.
