Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

Anna choked back a laugh, "Oh, that's horrible!" She shook her head and patted the bed, "Come on, it's getting dark.'

Roan chuckled and moved to join her, "I know, its awful. But thats ok. Meatloaf made it."

"That stupid goof," Anna shook her head as she laid down. "She's too stupid to die." She shook her head and snuggled into Roan again to go to sleep. Morning found everyone's implants buzzing as they'd gotten new engram and stat points.

Roan woke and glanced at his Implant. He was still holding Anna and didn't want to let go. He was afraid to. As if letting go meant losing her.

Meanwhile Vera sat up on thw edge of the bed and assigned her points. More health. She figured she died way too easily.

"What is it?", Anna yawned and took a look at her implant, "Oh, now it wants to give us engrams." Not when they were fighting for their lives, or when they were kicking ass to find each other, but the morning they're relaxing after doing so. "i think it's just messing with us."

"Morning, beautiful" Jack smiled as he sat up and checked his engrams, putting points into weight so he could carry more stuff. "How are you feeling?"

"Seems it,"Roan muttered, "Really could have used it sooner."

"Good," She said said with a smile, "I had a big teddy bear to cuddle with."

Anna sighed and just left her engram points. "I'm just gonna wait until something comes up," she sighed, "I didn't get the chance to assign my engrams last time, I'm just gonna leave 'em for a while." She shook her head and looked out the window, "Decent weather, at least." She shook her head and stepped away, "We've gotta sit down and make a plan again." Because last time that worked out so well.

Jack chuckled, "It's always a comfortable sleep with a warm kitty on my chest."

"Yea, sit down. Talk about plans and schedules." Roan agreed, "We need to all be on the same page."

Vera giggled and leaned in for a kiss, "You're too sweet."

Anna nodded and went outside, "I'll see about cobbling a table and benches together." She might have the raw metal from when she was preparing to leave Herbie Island.

Jack smiled and pulled Vera close to kiss her, he was starting to notice they spent a lot of time doing this. Not that Jack would ever complain, though. "All the sweetness in the world doesn't mean anything without someone to enjoy it," he smiled and hugged her, "Listen, I don't think wood is very safe anymore." he gestured to the wooden building they were in, "I think we should upgrade to stone, or... I think tree platforms might work."

"What can I do to help?" Roan asked, following her.

"A tree platform?" Vera asked, "That sounds interesting. But also, dangerous. Like what if we fall?"

"If you can get some wood and thatch together," Anna gestured around, "I've got enough raw metal from the island, but wood wasn't as important a resource. At the moment she was the only one with any metal tools.

"Well, do you remember how big those redwoods were?", Jack asked, "I think those are the trees they go on, so the platform is probably big, and I can put railings around it so we don't fall off." He smiled and imagined a string of those platforms connected, "And I might be able to connect a few of them to make a super wide building area."

"Sure, we have a bunch down in the storage, " Roan said, heading to grab some.

"And how do we get into them? We only have your cat and one flyer right?" Vera asked.

It took a bit, mostly because Roan and Anna didn't have a lot of carry weight and crafting took time, but they eventually got a pair of tables and benches to make a wide table like they'd used to plan out their cliffside base before the gigas. They set it up in an empty space in the crafting area, which was fortunately built wide enough that it didn't affect much. "Now we're just waiting for Jack and Vera to wake up," Anna shrugged.

"That's the thing," Jack nodded, "If you can only get to it on a flyer or a thyla, that means only those things are dangerous up there."

"Lets make breakfast then," Roan said and began to cook up some meat.

"Right, but wouldn't we need more of them to get us all up and down from the platforms?" Vera asked, "I'm just saying we would have to tame more before we even started."

Anna nodded and poked around for berries to make some berry mash to go with the meat.

"Well, yeah," Jack shrugged, "There's a lot that's gotta happen between now and then, anyway." These platforms were super resource intensive so they needed new resource dinos to gather with, and none of them were high enough level for thylacoleo saddles yet. "I promise, when we get to that point, we'll be covered."

"We should talk to the others about this too," Vera nodded, "It seems like a pretty good idea, but we need their opinion."

"Of course," Jack smiled and hugged Vera, "I'm not going to build something if no one agrees on it." His stomach rumbled to announce it was breakfast time. "Ah, we should go see about breakfast."

"That sounds good. I wonder if tbe others are up," She said and got up, stretching. She led the way out and immediately smelled the food being made, "Morning!"

"Good morning," Roan called as he pulled some meat off the fire.

"Smells like good food," Jack called as he followed Vera down to the dining area of the tower.

"Good timing," Anna laughed as she started scooping berry mash onto plates, "Eat up, we've got a lot of work to do."

"We do," Vera agreed as she took her food and sat at the table, "but we should sit and talk first."

"We were thinking the same," Roan said with a nod.

That was what Anna meant, planning ahead was part of the work. Maybe she needed to work on her phrasing. "We need a better place to live," Anna said, starting out with that subject. "There's spinos here, gigas and rexes to the north."

"Anna spawned on an island," Roan added, "Nothing aggressive there."

"Oh?" Vera sounded and looked at Jack, "Jack had an idea too."

"Mm-hm," Anna nodded, "Nothing but herbivores and pteranodons."

"Well," Jack set his map on the table, "I've got an engram for something called a wooden tree platform. If I can set some of those up, and connect them, we'll have a platform out of the reach of anything that can't fly or climb." He looked over at Nike nomming meat out of the feeding trough, "We might be able to find a blueprint or unlock the engram for thylacoleo saddles, and I'll be able to ge you guys some thylas. They're pretty strong."

"How tall are they though?" Roan asked, "Gigas might still be able to reach it. Just theres a whole ocean protecting the island."

He had a point. Gigas couldn't get to them there. And they could have more room for tames.
