Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

Roan nodded, "That's fine. Thats ok.."

He moved up next to her and put his arm around her, "Its ok, I'm right here. Ok?"

"Hmm," Anna dipped her head and leaned into Roan. "I'm sorry." They were having fun and she was scared of a seed-eating pick-pocket.

Even though Anna agreed to keep the pego inside, she didn't sleep at all that night, or at all until after the rain stopped and she saw it scurry away through the same crack in the wall it had gotten in through, which happened to be late the next morning when everyone else was waking up for the day.

"Stupid little..." she yawned again and patted her face to try and keep herself awake, and subsequently falling asleep.

The animals were okay to leave their hiding holes once the rain stopped and the sun started to warm the cliff up, so if anyone wanted to leave their homes they could with no issues.

"Hmm," Jack yawned awake as sunlight filtering in through the partially opened window in the sleeping loft let morning light in on the bed. He glanced at the sleeping beauty next to him, tired out from the night's adventure. He smiled and kissed her on the forehead before quietly leaving the room to go see about making her breakfast for when she woke up, and letting Janus out.

When Vera eventually woke up, Jack was coming back into the room with a tray that had some amarberry juice in a wooden container, some meat, and berry paste, with pants on this time. "Good morning, beautiful."

Roan woke as Anna began to fall asleep and sighed, "Get some rest.."

Vera smiled, yawning. Her hair was a little messy but she was still looking radiant as ever from the previous nights fun. She smiled, "You made breakfast? Aww, that's so sweet."

"Mmm," Anna murmured something in agreement. The fire had gone out in the night, leaving the room not as warm as it had been previously.

"That's not all I made," Jack smiled and sat the tray on the bed next to her, "I've been doing some math, and if I'm right once we do some exploring and get our ducks in a row, I'll be able to start rebuilding our home." He leaned over the bed to give her a peck on the cheek, "So eat up, we've got some work today."

Roan got up, lighting the fire again and moving to stay with Anna. He didnt want to leave her alone after a stressful night for her.

Vera smiled and started eating. For Jack's view, he could see a gestation bar below her name thst had started throughout the night.

"Vera?", Jack frowned as he saw the brown bar, "What's 'gestation'?" With the progress the bar had made overnight, and the really long timer next to it, it looked like it wouldn't come to completion until seemingly forever in the future to him.

"You've got a bar," Jack gestured to it even though she couldn't see her own mini-menu. But if she opened her impant menu there was a gestation bar under her Torpidity stat, with a picture of a fetus next to it.

Vera looked into her implant for the bar, and sure enough there was one. She was confused at first, "A baby?"

"A baby!?", Jack sounded just as confused as Vera, "What do you mean a baby?" He didn't even think humans could breed, he'd only seen five of them including himself, and no other ones ever appeared.

"I mean, I'm guessing.." She said, "Something is just tell me that thats what it is."

Jack was quiet for a moment, doing some thinking, "I guess we've got even more incentive to build a strong home, then," he decided. He reached into his inventory and pulled out Vera's clothes, setting them on the bed nearby, "Well, based on the bar we've a few... months." Months was another unfamiliar word. He knew off the bat that it meant approximately thirty days, but he didn't know why he knew that.

Vera smiled, "Well, we will have to work even harder. We can recycle my old place for resources too."

That sounded like a plan, "Well, eat up! We've still gotta go crate hunting, and I've gotta come up with a design." Jack smiled at Vera and went to let Janus out. Today was a pretty good day already as far as he was concerned.

Jack's first stop was to check on the other two's houses and make sure they were alright. When Anna didn't answer her door he got worried and went to check Roan's and see if he knew where she was.

Vera smiled and went back to eating as Jack left. Roan on the other hand, got up, careful not to wake Anna as he went to the door, "Hey. What's up?"

"Hey," Jack smiled, at least Roan was here, "I've got something to tell you you're never gonna believe," he led with that, before remembering why he was even looking for the other one, "Have you seen Anna?" Jack wasn't very good at paying attention, or he couldn't see it through the top of the doorway, but Roan had a mate heart.

Roan chuckled, "She's sleeping. Didn't fall asleep until a little while ago. Why?"

"Oh," Jack peered around the doorway to see a pair of feet hanging off the edge of the bed. "You two are getting along, huh?

"Oh, we're doing great," Jack smiled, "Actually, that's one of the thing's I wanted to talk to you about." He took a step off of Roan's porch and motioned for the man to follow him. "I think we're going to have a baby," he said once they were out of earshot of the houses.

Roan obliged, following the taller man, "A baby? How did that happen?"

"Well, that's the thing, I don't really know." Jack shook his head, either that or he wasn't willing to share that particular intimate detail, "But I do know that after that storm we've got some serious remodeling to do."

"Woah, hold up," Roan said, backtracking the conversation. He motioned a bit of a backpeddle, "What should I avoid? Because pretty sure Anna would kill me."

"What do you- Oh." Jack thought for a moment, "Don't got to bed naked together?" Having not watched animals breed to produce young, Jack had not connected the dots between organs and their uses.

"Noted," Roan said, rubbing his face, "so how to we take care of a baby? We can barely take care of ourselves."
