Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"Jack mentioned we needed to see if we could find a dino for stone, I thought maybe a doedicurus could fill that end," Anna explained, "And we didn't get any argies, yesterday, either. I'd also like a saber but we'll need pelts to make fur armor so we're not freezing over there, too." She'd unlocked the engrams for it over breakfast.

Roan looked at the engram for the fur armors, "And we need metal for it too..."

"Lets work on that then." Vera suggested.

"We had a bunch back at the old base," Anna offered, "Someone can make a run back there with a raptor."

"I think we brought most of it with us," Roan said, "All we need is pelts."

"Then let's get that," Anna nodded, "Do we know what drops it?"

"Probably creatures with fur?", Jack pointed out the obvious. "Maybe dogs drop pelts?"

"Maybe?" Roan agreed. Vera made a face of pure confusion, "What? The hell is a dog?"

"We don't know," Jack shrugged, "Words we don't know that apparently mean things." He looked around for his dirt drawing onl to find Meatloaf had waddled over it several times. "Aw."

"You see!", Anna said triumphantly, "She's a menace!"

"She's just dumb, she's not malicious," Jack rolled his eyes, "She's not a raptor." Occisor nipped at Jack for that commment.

As if on cue, the little dinosaur came waddling from somewhere else on the clearing, mouth open and tongue out. She made little grunts and coos as she ran before stopping by Jack's leg and sitting, staring up at him.

Jack raised an eyebrow, "You want a treat, is that it?" He smiled, "Okay, let me get your treats." he went over to the preserving bin to make another piece of meat slathered in berry jelly.

"Something wrong with that thing," Anna nodded as she climbed onto Occisor.

Meatloaf happily began to do a little dance, hopping from foot to foot in excitement. Roan chuckled, "I think she has a new favorite."

"It's because I feed her sweat treats," Jack shook his head and tossed the meat to the moschops. "I might be able to train her, doing that." But that would come after they had all their hesperoni in a row.

The moschops happily ate her treat, deciding to stay by Jack's side in case he gave her more. Vera nodded, "Maybe."

"Let's go!", Anna was already by the spino with Occisor and Thunder, "We've got dinos to tame!"

Vera hopped onto the back of Cherry. "And kill!"

Roan chuckled and made his way to Cicero, "Ok, ok. Im coming."

And down the slope they went, leaving Jack alone with Thunder and Gaia, Manny, Meatloaf, the Spino, and the paras. The pegomastax and Lil' Chicken were probably around here somewhere but they hadn't appeared for a while. "Well." He clapped, "Why don't we get to work?" He tossed Meatloaf another piece of meat and left the moschops to wander while he got on Manny to collect more wood and thatch.

Meatloaf chased after the meat, partially eating it before turning and following after the human, a chunk of meat still hanging from her mouth. Meanwhile, Roan and the girls made their way to look for more creatures to tame, "Just getting argys and a doedi?"

Jack raised an eyebrow, shooing off the moschops. "Go on, I can't play with you right now." Manny reached down with his trunk to try and push the moschops away.

Anna nodded, "Ideally, in the same space, less effort all around."

Meatloaf grunted at the mammoth pushing her and simply moved further out to follow.

Roan nodded, "We will see what we can do."

Jack rolled his eyes, "Fine." She could follow if she wanted, but Jack wasn't going to play with her while working. "Let's go, Manny." He guided the mammoth through the gate, leaving it open. If he needed to get back in quick, waiting for it to open would take too long, and anything that did get in would have to contend with the spino and remaining raptors.

Once they got back to the area they'd last seen argies, there was another battle going on just beyond the massive boulder they'd used for safety. This time between argies and hyaenodons over the fate of a daedon. "It's like there's a script, two days in a row?" Anna shook her head as they scaled the boulder for safety. "We might be able to use that, if it's true."

"To pick out the strongest one?" Vera asked.

"To escape danger?" Roan suggested in response.

"Both," Anna nodded, explaining that if these fights were events that happened every day, they could set a trap to collect dinos there. When they returned, they could look at what was in the trap and decide if they wanted to tame, kill, or release the thing inside.

"Thats pretty smart," Roan agreed, "What about a trap where its just walls but the outside is covered in slopes to let creatures in but not out."

"Yeah!", Anna grinned, "Maybe we can give the top of the trap a really weak ceiling, so it'll collapse under the weight when enough dinos walk onto it!"
