Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

Sitting up, Roan yawned, "What is it?"

Vera looked to Anna, "Manny? Thats like naming a raptor Reggie."

"Morning," Jack popped open the door to let dawn in, "And I think your implant's buzzing."

Anna giggled, "No one said Jack was good at names."

Roan looked at his implant, quickly assigning his points, "Perfect."

"True. His para is named Hardhead," Vera giggled.

"I'll start breakfast," Jack said, heading out to re-light the fire and start cooking.

Anna smirked and opened the door to leave, finding Meatloaf curled against the door and basically falling in, knocking over and landing on top of Anna. "God dammit Meatloaf!"

Meatloaf cooed and licked at Anna's face happily before rubbing her head on Anna's shoulder. With another giggle, Vera called, "Should've let her in last night."

Anna didn't answer Vera, struggling to get this lump of animal off of her chest. "Someone get this animal off me before I kill it!", not that she could reach any weapon to accomplish that at the moment.

"Don't even think about it," Jack ordered, "We need her for fiber and berries."

"Then get her off or you're not gonna have fiber and berries!"

"Aww, Anna, she missed you. Be nice to her." Vera said and got dressed, "Give her scratches, maybe she will get up."

"I can't! She's got my arms pinned!" Anna couldn't wiggle out from under Meatloaf, either.

"Meatloaf!", Jack whistled at the moschops and held up a slab of raw meat slathered in tintoberry jelly, "You hungry?"

Excitedly, Meatloaf scurried off of Anna to get some of the food Jack was offering. She ran, or more waddled, to Jack's feet, sitting in front of him, mouth open and tongue lulling to the side.

"Good girl," Jack nodded and tossed the meat to Meatloaf, "I'll build her a kennel later today, I promise." He shook his head and smirked as Anna got to her feet and shot death glares. "Breakfast is almost done, guys, come get a plate."

Vera giggled, coming outside to get food, "Poor baby won't be allowed inside."

"She will be ok," Roan said as he joined them, "After all, its just a dinosaur."

"Good," Anna shuddered, taking a plate.

"Well," Jack shrugged, "Between Meatloaf and Manny's resource gathering, I'll be able to start building houses today, so that'll free up time for everything else." Like getting tames and exploring.

"Sounds great. We can start looking for rock gatherers once that is done." Roan said happily.

"You might wanna look into that, anyway," Jack opened his engrams, "I've got engrams for a bunch of stone stuff, should be stronger than wood, add a little variety into the build." Jack shrugged, "I won't have the materials made until mid-afternoon, anyway. We're gonna be spending at least a day or two in the huts." He closed his engrams, "I see a recipe for a doedicurus saddle, maybe that does something?"

"I think I saw one of those when we were getting Manny," Anna nodded, "But it wasn't doing anything, a saber had gotten to it and it just balled up to hide."

"Kinda smart honestly," Vera commented, "can't get hurt. It has a shell or something."

"We can try taming one next," Roan nodded, "I wonder if they're passive."

"We'll find out when we find one," Anna shrugged and put her emptied plate away, "We've gotta worry about the sabers, though."

"And we're gonna need a forge and smithy soon," Jack added, "My tools are running low on durability."

Roan nodded, "I'll get started on that then."

"Need us to do anything, Jack?" Vera asked. He might as well be out leader, right?

"If you can, you should start getting engrams for building materials," Jack offered, "At least up to wood tier, that way if something happens and we get separated, you'll at least be able to take shelter for the night and put something between you and the wild animals." He stood up, "Looks like I can start making saddles for more stuff, too." He walked away from the huts to put down a two-by-two platform for a temporary workshop to sit on.

"Is that a gun?", somehow Anna had crossed that distance silently to look at Jack's engram menu, "We can get guns?"

"Yea, its a gun. But they are expensive." Roan said as he took some engrams for building. He didnt take wood, only thatch. If it was temporary structures, there was no need for wood in his opinion.

Anna opened her own menu to see if she could unlock a gun, but it was at least two tiers out of her reach. "Aww," she groaned, "No fair, how are you two so advanced?"

"We've been here longer," Jack shrugged, "You and Anna will catch up. If we had a way to boost you up we would."

"Didn't they level up the other night and we didn't?" Roan recalled, "Maybe they will catch up soon."

"Yeah, we did," Anna nodded, brightening up a bit, "If we keep levelling up like that we might catch up soon!

"Maybe," jack moved over to Manny to start gathering materials for construction, "Roan and I are slowing down on our engrams, so you two might catch up after all." Once everyone was on the same level, they wouldn't have to rely on each other for things so heavily anymore.

"That'll be great because we can actually help out." Vera commented, "I cant wait."

Jack smiled, "You guys help out a lot anyway." He hopped up on Manny and started crafting the double gate so the mammoth could get through the wall without destroying it.

"Well let's load up," Anna shrugged, getting her inventory organized, "We've got stuff to go after, don't we?" Apparently they needed to tame a doedicurus, and most of the group wanted argies, so they had their work cut out for them.
