Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

Roan laughed, seeing Jack find the same terrifying feeling he had, "See? Its scary up there."

Jack made a face, "Oh, shut up!", Jack felt the need to outdo Roan in this instance, even though by many metrics he had. Jack could build things Roan couldn't, he was larger and, physically stronger, and he was pretty good with the parasaurs. But Roan was good at taming and shooting, and apparently Anna 'liked' him, whatever that meant. At the very least Jack was going to try and out-mammoth ride Roan.

Roan chuckled and folded his arms, "Now we need something for stone."

"And metal," Jack agreed as he grabbed materials to fill the hole back in. He guided the mammoth back into the safety of the wall once the thing was startign to slow down under the weight of wood and thatch before he started re-assembling the wall. "I'll see what I can do about a gate big enough for the mammoth." He patted the side of the beast, "We've gotta name him."

"Consider him yours," Roan said as he joined Jack inside the wall, "You can name him."

Jack nodded, glancing up at the mammoth, "I'm gonna call him Manny." The mammoth's tag changed from 'Mammoth' to "Manny" in green, and the mammoth loudly trumpeted the change.

"Manny, huh?" Roan repeated, "I like it. I think he does too."

Jack smiled, "Well, you can thank Manny for the houses I'm going to be able to build tomorrow, and you and the girls being free to go do other things."

Jack waved Roan off and went to go find Meatloaf and take fiber from her to start making the gates he planned to experiment on.

Anna had hung a line outside the women's hut to dry their clothes, neither had come out of the hut yet.

Roan made the usual meat and berries. What else was he meant to make? It was all they had.

Inside the tent, Vera was curled in her sleeping back, her cold making her fall asleep.

Anna peeked out of the door to the hut to see if the coast was clear to retrieve her clothes, but seeing as Roan was at the fireplace and Jack not far off, that was a negative and she ducked back in.

Vera groaned softly, hearing Anna move around, "What are you doing?"

"I'm trying to get our clothes," Anna whispered back, "The guys are out there." They'd been wearing cloth when they'd first met up with the guys, gotten from a supply drop, but that was back at the old tower. Moving around in front of the guys unequipped was not something Anna was keen on.

"Crack the door and ask one to get them to you then," She suggested tiredly.

Anna mentally smacked herself in the back of the head for not thinking of that herself. "Hey," she poked her head out to get Roan's attention, "Do me a favor, can you pass me our clothes?"

Roan looked over and nodded, getting the clothes and handing them over, "You girls ok?"

"We're fine," Anna nodded as she started passing the clothes between the door to her sleeping bag, "Just cold. Thank you," she shut the door once everything had been passed through, starting to get dressed again. "You gonna be okay in here?", she asked Vera.

Anna nodded, "I'll bring you some food." She ducked out of the hut to rejoin the guys. Jack's half-put together half-taken apart pair of dino gates wasn't pretty by any metric, and messy for sure.

"Evening," Jack nodded at Anna.

"Here, just finished cooking," Roan said, handing Anna some food, "Vera coming out?"

Anna shook her head as she sat down around the fire, "She said she was tired, I'll bring her a plate later." She looked over at Jack's project, "What's that supposed to be?"

"I'm trying something," Jack shrugged, "If it works, we'll have a gate a mammoth can fit through. If not, hopefully I'll unlock a bigger gate later."

"Crossing our fingers," Roan commented, "Riding that thing to collect is awful."

Jack started laughing, "It works, at least." He shook his head, "Roan's scared of the mammoth's wood gathering action."

"What does it do?", Anna frowned, she didn't think it could be that bad.

"It rears up. Its a lot harder to stay on that it looks with no saddle and I dont like it," Roan said, laughing a bit.
