Katsumi silently placed the money on the counter and took his coffee, muttering a "thank you" as he did, just as any paying customer would. Without another word, he left with his coffee in the direction of the table he picked as he was waiting in the queue. A table with two chairs next to a window, from which he could keep track of everyone in the cafe and on the street nearby. A force of habit, mostly, but it's paid off on many occasions.
