Act 1

Loki looked at Fin, "I agree with Jay. No offense but I don't want to take a potion from someone I do not know, Mother always said not to take things from strangers. How do I know this won't kill me?" Loki asked, "since you know who I am and what I've done this seems like the perfect opportunity to kill me."

Fin Dovah

Fendrake gasped in horror. "I would never! That is a deed reserved for the darkest of hearts. Luckily I put extra in these potions, so I will show you."

Fendrake sipped some of the potion. "To prove to you it works. I am a girl." Fendrake's nose grew.

"This potion will not harm you." Nothing happened.

Fendrake held out the potion to Loki. "Satisfied?"

"My apologies I didn't mean to offend you, it's just when you're someone like me who has had a bit of a shady past you get worried if someone is trying to kill you." Loki responded and took the potion, he then took a deep breath and ingested it. "Okay ask me anything."

Fin Dovah

"Don't worry about it. I am not a man to hold a grudge." Fendrake said. "Be careful about using metaphors, similes, idioms, or anything like that."

"What are your true intentions?"

"I am trying to start a new life, my old one back home wasn't desirable, plus everyone hated me back there so perhaps coming here I could start a new." Loki responded truthfully, "I know I made mistakes in the past and people got hurt and for that I deeply regret it."

Loki nodded, "that would be great and thank you again for giving me a chance I promise I will not let you down." Loki responded with a smile, he then looked over at the others. "Well I guess I'll see you all tomorrow, and again Jay I will pay you back for the piercing."

Jay smiled.  Loki looking for redemption made him wonder if he should make up for what he'd done.  Crops ruined, festivals spoiled, illness and loss of life and limb from the cold.

Eh.

"Well, a job and accommodation all in one afternoon," he said.  "Not bad for your first day amongst the rabble."

Deep in the forest outside of Storybrooke, a faint thudding could be heard. A rather well hidden path lead from the road into the forest. The path was heavily wooded at the start, but the trees began to trickle away the further you went in. Finally, the path opened into a large clearing that held a large pumpkin patch. In the center, the ground held a simple gray tombstone with the words 'The Spirit of Sleep Hollow' carved into it. The thudding could be heard clearest here. It continued for a few more moments before giving way to a horrible cracking sound. Then, it was joined by haggard breathes as a hand emerged from the ground. Another followed and the arms began to claw at the ground. A head erupted out of the ground and the person dragged himself out of the grave. He looked at his arms and legs as if he had never seen them before. His amazement gave way to a dark grin and he laughed. A sinister sort of laugh that might leave chills running down your spine.

The Headless Horseman felt his face and couldn't stop laughing. He was restored and now, he would have his revenge. Hayes crawled over to the Great Pumpkin in his tattered outfit and felt new clothes merging on to his body. He was dressed in a v neck t shirt, black jeans, and sneakers. Hayes was disoriented by these new clothes, but didn't let it stop him. The Headless Horseman picked up the Great Pumpkin and it shrunk to fit in the palm of his hand. Then, he pointed at the ground and a might black steed shot of it. It's saddle was completely made of bones and it's eyes were pitch black. Hayes let out a deep breath and swung himself on top of the horse.

"I'm coming little Regina. Then, Mommy Dearest will give me what I want."

A week had gone by since everything changed for the town of Storybrooke. Everyone gained back the memories that had been taken from them, remembering who they truly were. For some, it had been a great change from what they had been under the curse. For others, like Belle, it hadn't been much of a change. She was used to being kept prisoner, both by her choice and not. In both lives, she'd been locked away and hidden by Regina just to hurt another.

It had been a strange week, but Belle was happy to take comfort in the little bits of control she now had. She could go wherever she wanted, see who she wanted, and could live like a normal person again. That was the biggest change of all. It had been some time since she could randomly decide to drop everything and take tea as she was having now. She'd stopped by Granny's for a cup and to take a short rest for the day. She had been exploring Storybrooke to get some form of direction in her head when she realized she was getting tired. Being locked away in a room did not do much for her stamina.

Looking around, she couldn't help but smile as she saw the faces of friends and strangers alike. They had all shared in something big, and the relief on their faces was pleasing. So many new faces she had seen these past few days, new people from places she had never heard of. It almost got to be a bit too much at times, but as her usual self, she contained any unease she may have felt and continued on with a cheery face.

Finishing her tea, she took her cup and saucer up to the counter and placed it down, a few dollars under it for payment. Granny and Ruby looked busy, she didn't want to be a bother. Nodding in response to a few waves as she moved through the diner, Belle headed back out into the streets of Storybrooke.

Eragon is restless. He needs to think but he just can't because he let himself be tricked in one way or another and he hates it. Saphira always says he shouldn't make rash decisions and if taking a potion from the dark one wasn't a rash decision he doesn't know what was. He rechecks his spells, testing everything Rumplestiltskin touched. Brisingr. His sword. That fucking imp. Eragon half wants to go fight him, but instead he focuses his energy on removing spells from his sword. He walks as he does it and soon comes across a camp, and he has to blink to check what he's seeing because there's a girl leant against her dragon and he was just not expecting that here.

"Hey." He says, not too loud but enough to announce his presence and not sneak up on them. "Couldn't help but notice the dragon." He says as some sort of excuse before realising how ridiculous he sounds. Of course he noticed the dragon. Who wouldn't notice the dragon. This is why he doesn't talk to people. He's useless. "Well I mean of course I did. Quite a rare sight." He doesn't know why he doesn't introduce himself as a fellow rider, Rumplestiltskin already knows and he's the only real threat here, but still, he doesn't really feel the need to go around telling everyone he sees.

@Shandragontear

Faro just watches the conversation between Loki and Fin Dovah, and when it seems to end, or something, he's not quite sure, he pulls a pen from his pocket and grabs Loki's hand, scrawling an address on it before the other man can pull it away. "I need to be off but here's my address since you wanted to sleep over. Should be unlocked. Just make yourself at home." He doesn't really need to leave, but he wants to, he wants to go swimming. "Bye Jack. Bye Loki." He says before walking away, headed straight to the sea.

Stormfly was the first to react, lifting her head to the sound of footsteps approaching. Feeling Stormfly moving against her Astrid sat up. Instinctively she grabbed her battle ax off the ground next to her, till she heard someone speak. Seeming to realize there was no threat her grip released from the ax as the young viking stood.

"Yeah, they don't seem to be quite as common here." Astrid said with a bit of a grin, making an obvious, observation of her own. "A storm blew us off course and we wound up here." She explained, thinking it best to simply be honest rather then have the whole town paranoid of her dragon. "Don't worry though, Stormfly is very well behaved." She quickly assured him before the issue was even brought up.

"She's beautiful isn't she." Eragon comments, admiring the dragon. He feels like it might be rude not to talk to her directly, dragons from Alagaësia always prefer being spoken to directly, but right now his bond is screwed up so he doubts he could if he tried. "How old is she?" A second later he adds on "Sorry. I haven't even asked your name. Just a bit distracted by the fact there's a real dragon. What's your name? I'm Eragon."

He's closer now, and he gestures to the floor beside her, right next to Stormfly. "Could I sit down? Don't know if she'll be okay with it or not."

Hayes brought his horse to a trot just outside of town and hopped off. He stroked its mane, for a moment, before sending it back into the ground. Hayes tried to walk, but was unsteady on his feet. He hadn't ridden a horse in quite sometime. Once he regained his balance, Hayes straightened out his posture and strode forward into town. He was caught off guard by the many different structures and buildings that towered above him. But, he pushed such feelings down as he moved walked on to the main street.

Hayes noticed a library in the center of town and walked towards it. He wasn't used to his surroundings and he had always found that knowledge was key, in every part of life. He walked up to door only to see that it wasn't open. Hayes pondered his current situation and absentmindedly reached for his sword. But, it wasn't there. He'd forgotten when Cora had managed to steal his heart, she had also promised to give her daughter his sword as a gift. Hayes quickly caged his anger and took a seat in front of the library. He had to plan carefully. Who knows how many friends the Queen may have?

Jay waved to the merman as he headed towards the sea.  Though he expected he'd had all the business he was going to for the day, he still had to mind the shop.  Of course, he also had to plan his revenge against Rumplestiltskin.

Regina felt odd.  She hadn't felt good since Swan let Henry eat the tart meant for her, but this was different.  Her magic had returned, thanks to the imp's machinations, and she could feel... something happening.

She knew Henry wouldn't want much to do with her, but she still had to see if he was okay.  Dialing his cell phone, she paced her office, waiting for him to pick up.

Merlin

When Regina's curse was cast, Merlin's mansion had manifested in Storybrooke, and Merlin with it. Merlin was taking a walk, when he saw a man sitting in front of the library. He sat by him. "Hello Hayes. I know what you want to do, but you can't do it."

Fendrake smiled at Loki. "We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies."

Fendrake flicked his hands, and clouds enveloped them. When the clouds cleared, they were in Fendrake's shop. "Now Loki, before we begin, remember that the purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well. No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another. And Loki, before you die, ask yourself two questions. Did you find joy in life? Did you bring joy to others?"

Henry was reading his book, looking at all the stories he could, when his phone rang. It was his other mother. He picked it up. "Hello, Mom."

Regina felt something melt inside her, hearing her son's voice.  After so long, maybe there was a chance he'd forgive her.

"Henry," she said.  "How have you been?  Is everything going okay?"

Loki listened to Fin's words, they were really meaningful and Loki could really take them to heart. "I will do what I can to help others in this world, I want to show people I am capable of being good. And perhaps set an example for others like me who are maybe thinking of redemption," he told him. "So how can I go about helping you and others? I may know magic but none of it is healing, just illusions, offensive, defensive and more."

Emma finished up with the day's work at the station and headed home to the apartment she was sharing with her parents, parents was still strange for her to hear but at least she had a nice place to stay. So she locked up for the day and headed there, when she walked into the apartment Mary Margaret greeted her with her usual smile.

"As you are redeemed, you will find yourself thinking of new ways to help people with the power you have. But there is no crime in learning new magic, as long as you do not use it for evil, and I will teach you to heal." Fendrake said. "First, you will need to know how magic works. How you use magic depends on what type of mana you have. Some mana can only create magic when channeled through something, such as certain objects, certain words, or both. The most common type of magic, however, is magic that is fueled by your emotion. Do you know what type of mana you have? The type of mana you have will tell me the type of magic you have. If not, I have a test you can take."

[Are you okay with this magic system, @Shandragontear? I am trying to explain the differences between Eragon's and Rumplestiltskin's magic for example. The reason I said emotion magic was the most common is because that is the magic OUaT uses.]

"Well I don't know, I've never heard of it being referred to it as Mana before. My mother was the one who taught me all of it, so really I can't answer that question. The magic I know is old, she learned it from her family. I can use my magic freely, though sometimes it is stronger when I'm upset so if I had to guess it would be emotion." Loki explained.

Belle walked down the main street, making sure she remembered every place she'd passed before. She passed her favorite place in town, The Library, but it was still unfortunately, closed. She'd hoped it would open soon. Seeing the two men in front of it, one glumly sitting on the ground in front of the door, she assumed she wasn't the only one who wanted it to be open. After the Library fell out of sight, she stopped in front of the shop she had been spending the most time in; Gold's Pawn Shop. Noting it was open, she knew the man she wanted to see would still be inside.

Not wanting to be a bother in case there were customers, Belle gently opened the door and slipped inside. The ringing of the bell on the door being the only evidence of her entry. She'd become almost comforted every time she'd entered the shop. The feeling of being around so many amazing things, whether valuable or not, excited her. So many lost objects waiting to be found. Kind of how she'd felt when locked away. At least here these items had a chance of being picked up and touched.

The woman slowly wandered around the store, skipping past the wands, she knew better than to touch those.

Jay walked down the street, having realized he hadn't had much to eat all day.  He picked up a little something from Granny's, and paused.  A beautiful woman walked into Gold's shop.  Jay Winters watched her thoughtfully.

And Jack Frost smiled.

It was time to pay a visit to another small business owner.

He opened the door, wrinkling his nose at the summery humidity inside.  Spotting the proprietor, he smiled.  "Hello, Mr French.  I've got some information for you."

Fin Dovah

"Yes, it seems like it is emotion magic, but we must be sure. For the test, I will need a blood sample, is that okay?"

@Chello

Rumplestiltskin

The Dark One grinned slyly. When the connection was up, Rumplestiltskin was able to sift through Eragon's mind and duplicate his emotions and memories. He had duplicated only the ones needed, however. He put a metal hat on, and it attracted the duplicated emotions and memories of Eragon's out of Rumplestiltskin's head. He took off the hat carefully, and seeing that the duplicates remained, poured a red potion in the hat. Rumplestiltskin crossed his fingers.

As it hit the bottom, the potion began to boil and turned a bright pink color. The Dark One grinned.

A few minutes later, Rumplestiltskin heard the bell on his shop ring. He waved his hand over his tools, and they became invisible. Rumplestiltskin got up, brushed off his hands, and walked to the front of his shop.

"My darling Belle." Rumplestiltskin walked up to her and touched her cheek.

Henry Mills

"No, everything's not going okay. Everyone is starting to wake up after 28 years of their life were stolen because of you. Some of them still want to kill you. You need to make it up to them, Mom."

@commanderproton

Loki nodded, "that's okay. I've already had one needle go through my body, a simple blood draw won't bother me." Loki smiled at him, "so have you been here this whole time? And if so where did you originally come from?"

Henry's words were like a knife in her heart.  The fact that they were true made it worse.  "I don't know if I ever could," she said, eyes stinging.  Then a thought occurred to her.  "Henry?  No one's holding my actions against you are they?  No one's hurt you, or threatened you, have they?" If someone so much as looked at her little boy the wrong way, she'd make the Dark Curse look like a tantrum.
