Act 1

Jay nodded.  "Excellent."

He led Loki to Mr Gold's pawn shop, and flashed him a wink and a smile before flexing his fingers and calling up his magic.  He turned the doorknob and blew the door open with a snowy gust of wind.

"Tinkle-tinkle, imp," he called, striding into the shop. "The iceman cometh."

Emma felt the same way as David when Astrid mentioned teaching Henry to ride, she just took a deep breath. "Although riding a dragon sounds a lot of fun I am not sure it's such a great idea, what would Regina think if I let you onto a dragon? She would kill me and the dragon no less," Emma spoke walking out with them.

"Ah come on Emma she doesn't have to know," Henry smiled. He was always the adventurous one, though that wasn't surprising given who his grandparents were and of course Emma.

Emma just sighed, "if we keep this from your mother she would make matters worse. You know nothing escapes her," Emma reminded him. "But okay, just be careful I mean about approaching her not riding her."

Henry just pouted and walked beside Astrid nearing Stormfly, "so is there anything special I need to do to approach her so she doesn't get spooked."

-----

Loki followed Jay into the shop and looked around, "this Gold guy really loves his trinkets doesn't he?" Loki responded, "I bet these are worth a fortune."

"Just hold a hand out to her and tell her how pretty she is." Astrid instructed, knowing Stormfly would put her nose against his palm. Walking around the large reptile Astrid reached up to pull a leather bound book from one of her saddle bags.

Flipping through a few pages as she returned to Henry, Astrid held out the book to Henry, opened to the page on deadly nadders. Having noticed the text in Henry's storybook was written in characters unfamiliar to Astrid, it was probably safe to assume Henry wouldn't be able to read the Norse writing in the Book of Dragons. Without looking at the book Astrid read it out loud for him just off of memory.

"The deadly nadder. A tracker class dragon. It's magnesium fire can melt through solid rock and metal. They're said to have the hottest fire of any dragon. Poisonous spikes along its tail can be used as projectiles. One of the most beautiful species of dragons it's recommend you take advantage of their vanity when trying to train one. Start by setting up a mirror to distract them. Then slowly and carefully move behind them and smooth down their tail spikes." As Astrid spoke Stormfly pulled her nose away from Henry's hand to short a puff of hot air at Astrid's head for calling her vain. "Don't act like it's not true." Astrid retorted.

"This is the Book of Dragons." Astrid went on to explain, handing the book to Henry. "Everything we know about every dragon we know of."

"Valuable, I'm sure," Jay replied.  "But in more than money."  His bright blue eyes scanned the room.  "I wouldn't try taking anything, if I were you," he said.  "Unless, of course, it's yours.  Keep your eyes open for a staff with a crook, made of gray wood and wrapped in blue cloth."

Henry flipped through the book, "this is amazing. I mean really cool, and here I thought that my story book was the only cool thing I get to read," Henry smiled before closing it up and slowly walking up to Stormfly and held out his hand letting her sniff it before slowly moving it from her nose up to her head. He was calm the whole time, "hey Stormfly it's nice to meet you. My name is Henry and you are the coolest, most epic thing I've ever seen." He smiled widely.

Emma admitted this was really cool even if she was still working on believing that the dragon was real, she just started getting use to the fact that her parents are actually Snow White and Prince Charming and that fairy tales are real. She just smiled and watched Henry, "Henry we should get you back to your mother's soon. As for what we are going to do about our new visitors, well we will think of something."

------

Loki just looked around, "wait he's actually Rumplestiltskin correct? The boy Henry told me about him, everyone alive knows not to trust him. My father once came across him, my father never really made any deals with him as he knew who he was and what Rumple could do. I myself wouldn't trust him either, I'm known for tricks but I'm not nearly as bad as he is."

Pressing her nose into Henry's hand Stormfly made some cross between a purr and a chirping sound. Astrid simply smile, though it shifted to a bitter sweet one as she spoke again. "Hiccup would like you..." She said to Henry as her hand hand subconsciously moved to what looked to be just the hilt of a sword, the blade retracted inside.

"Henry, did your book say anything about how Stormfly and I might of ended up here? Or how we could get back?" She asked hopefully.

"Not yet, though this book is a little strange sometimes stories just come out of nowhere. I mean I will keep looking, though getting back to anywhere from Storybrooke is a challenge but do not give up hope I'm sure that you will find a way. We will help you," Henry smiled at her. "But we do need to find a safe place for Stormfly, having her out in the open like this can cause a lot of concern. My mother is the mayor and well like Emma said she won't be too happy that their is a dragon in her town."

Emma nodded, "the only place that I can think of that won't draw attention is the woods. Granted Astrid you'll have to stay with her, it's not the ideal conditions but it's the only way to protect her. We can provide you with a tent and anything else you need to get comfortable."

Astrid gave a disappointed nod. The longer this took the more likely the dragon hunters would get to Berk before she did. Beginning to feel stressed out she drew in a deep breath, holding it a second before breathing out slowly to calm herself. "Don't worry Astrid, Hiccup will send a search party to look for you, and they will spot the dragon hunters." She tried to assure herself by talking to herself.

At the thought of sleeping in the woods Astrid just shrugged. "Wouldn't be the first time we've camped out in the woods." She said making it seem like no big deal to her.

"Come on girl, lets go set up camp." Astrid said while giving Stormfly a firm pat on her side. "Soooo... I guess I'll see you all tomorrow?" She asked hoping to find a way back as quickly as possible.

"I am going to drop Henry off at his mother's and grab some supplies for you and then I will meet you in the woods," Emma told Astrid. "I will see you in a few hours," she then lead Henry to her beetle and drove to Regina's dropping Henry off before driving away and going to grab some things for Astrid. She grabbed a tent, some food, extra blankets and anything else Astrid would need. Once she got it she headed to the woods, "Astrid I got the things for you." Emma called out.

Once in the woods, Eragon immediately finds a large stone. He mutters a short phrase in the ancient language, just to check the potion truely does what Rumplestiltskin said, and after confirming it does, pours the potion over the stone. He draws the magic from Brisingr before placing it into the stone, so that he has the power required to find it again. It's odd to see his sword, planted in a stone, disappear before his eyes, but he avoids thinking about the strangeness, instead wanting to find the sword. He grabs a leaf from the ground, and after a simple spell "tauthr brisingr" (follow brisingr) the leaf starts floating, taking a simple path through the forest to where his sword is. He follows it, grinning when he reaches his sword.

When Eragon pulls his sword from the stone he is winded, the sudden feeling of his bond being rejoined shocking him. He calls out in his mind to Saphira and smiles when he hears her calming response of "Eragon." He casts another simple spell, although it's more power draining, "Atra ono waíse vardo fra eld hórnya in vardya Saphira." (May you be  warded from listeners and watchers Saphira.) Once the spell is cast, and he is confident she will be well hidden here, Eragon invites Saphira to come to him, telling her everything he knows as she flies across realms.

Faro isn't quite sure what he wants to do. He knows who he is again, which is great, and he's been spending a lot more time in the sea again, but he isn't sure if he actually wants to go back home. He's not sure he could if he wanted to. For now though, he heads to Jays tattoo place. Jay's cool and Faro quite likes him, and they're similar ages which is good. He hasn't actually seen him since the curse broke, but now he can again because he needs a new tattoo. When Faro gets there Jay is off somewhere, busy, but Faro is too lazy to leave so he instead hums a tune to himself. It's calm and simple, and without even thinking, Faro lets it drift into a soft siren call, which he probably should have tried avoiding.

Rumplestiltskin

The Dark One was in the back of his shop. He smiled slyly and drank a purple potion. Eragon had pulled the sword from the stone. This ruse had worked on several dragon riders he tried this on. Rumplestiltskin had found out a way to replicate the bond and link between dragon and rider, except the parts that would harm Rumplestiltskin, like the him dying if Eragon died part. Little did Eragon know, he had used this knowledge on him. Now he could pretend to be Saphira and Eragon wouldn't even notice. Eragon called out in his mind to who he thought was Saphira.

Eragon. Rumplestiltskin sent back. It even matched Saphira's voice.

Atra ono waíse vardo fra eld hórnya in vardya Saphira. Eragon sent back.

How did you restore our connection, Eragon? Rumplestiltskin sent back.

The bells on the door of his shop rang. "Tinkle-tinkle, imp. The iceman cometh."

Rumplestiltskin started to walk to the front of his shop, taking off his gloves.

"This Gold guy really loves his trinkets doesn't he? I bet these are worth a fortune."

"Valuable, I'm sure. But in more than money. I wouldn't try taking anything, if I were you. Unless, of course, it's yours. Keep your eyes open for a staff with a crook, made of gray wood and wrapped in blue cloth."

"Wait he's actually Rumplestiltskin correct? The boy Henry told me about him, everyone alive knows not to trust him. My father once came across him, my father never really made any deals with him as he knew who he was and what Rumple could do. I myself wouldn't trust him either, I'm known for tricks but I'm not nearly as bad as he is."

Rumplestiltskin turned the corner. "What do you want?"

Jay Winters slid further into the background, as Jack Frost came to the fore.  Blue eyes and white teeth glittering, he smiled at the Dark One.

"Just coming to collect something of mine," he said, long, slender fingers causing the crystal unicorn hanging from a mobile to spin in place.  "I understand many things ended up in your little curiosity shop which don't strictly belong here.  So, I'll just be collecting what's mine, and I'll be on my merry way."

Loki just watched the interaction between the two men, "you know stealing from others is considered a crime." Loki spoke looking at Rumple, "though with a reputation like yours I doubt you even care. How does it make you feel using other's weaknesses for your own personal gain?" Loki asked, "but I suppose they should never trust a man like you. My father told me all about you, he saw through you. But he sees everything, well almost everything."

Rumplestiltskin

"That's not how it works here." The Dark One smirked. "We make a deal or you leave. This is your only warning."

Rumplestiltskin turned to Loki. "You were the one who took every chance to try to kill your brother and take over Asgardia. You were the one who tricked the Enchantress into being kidnapped by the Frost Giant that in turn starved the Asgardians. Should I keep going?"

Loki took a step forward wanting to take him out but stopped himself, "those were some bad times for me. I made up for my mistakes, or at least tried to." He spoke, "all of those things still haunt me. It's why I chose to leave, I want to start a different life. Prove that I'm not just a trickster, what have you done lately?"

Jack gave an appraising look at Loki. "Busy boy," he said, before turning back to Gold.  "I just came for what is rightfully mine--what your dear, darling Reggie took from me and allocated to your shop without my permission."  His smile was razor sharp.  "Give me what's mine and we're square, Rumples."

Astrid gave a light nod before heading back the way they'd came. Strolling past a few other stores and shops the dragon and viking were receiving more then a few worried looks. Turning off into the woods they were finally out of sight.

Sticking closer to where Stormfly had crashed, Astrid hoped the torn down trees might draw the attention of anyone who came looking for her. By the time Emma arrived Astrid already had a fire going. There was also a pile of fresh caught fish that Stormfly was eating out of, with one fish roating over the fire. Several animal pelts and woven blankets had been made into a sort of sleeping bag beside the fire. Astrid could be seen sitting on the ground with her back leaning against Stormfly, who was laying behind her.

Astrid simply lifted a brow hearing Emma. The blonde viking wasn't sure what else she could need. "Thanks... Though you really didn't have to."

Rumplestiltskin

"I see you don't understand. This is a pawn shop, not a lost and found. If you're not here to make a deal, then leave." With a flick of Rumplestiltskin's wrist, a black smoke surrounded Jack and Loki that teleported them out of the shop.

Jack glared at the storefront.  "Very well, imp," he said.  "If that's how you want to play it."

He turned to Loki.  "I won't pull you into this," he said.  "If you have your own plans, I won't stand in your way.  For my part, I'm going back to my shop."

He spun on his heel and began marching towards his tattoo parlor, but paused upon seeing Mr Gold's beautiful car.  He grinned.

A minute later, the car was completely encased in ice.  "And that's why you winterize your vehicles."

"It's no trouble really," Emma responded putting the bags down. "Living in the woods doesn't mean you can't be comfortable, and here in Storybrooke we look out for each other." She smiled, "it does get rather cold at night. I hope you and Stormfly will be okay, though you are a viking so I shouldn't be worried right?"

-------

Loki took a deep breath, "I don't like him either but you shouldn't mess with him. Rumplestiltskin is very powerful, his magic is dark magic the most dangerous kind." Loki spoke looking at the car, "but anyways as for what I'm going to do next I don't really know. I'm not going back home at least not for a long time."

"Well, you're welcome to accompany me," Jack said, sliding back into the Jay persona, and giving Loki a grin.  "I might even persuade you to get something done."

Jay led Loki down to Pierce, Love and Harmony, spotting Connor waiting for him.  "Connor, good to see you," he said.  "Got a new friend for you here.  Meet Loki.  Maybe you can convince him to let me work on him."

"It's Faro." Faro responds, avoiding showing irritation. It's not Jay's fault he doesn't know. "That's my real name at least." He continues, before glancing at Loki. "You should definitely let him do work on you. Tattoos would suit you. I'm having him first though." Faro finishes teasingly. He stops talking for a second, thinking, before saying "What's your real name then Jay?"

"Though a tattoo or something else sounds intriguing I don't think it would be a good idea I am already the black sheep of the family I don't need my father to yell at me some more," Loki responded. "But maybe after a little more convincing and probably some alcohol I may change my mind, but that's a strong maybe."

Eragon frowns. Saphira has changed. That isn't what he would expect her to ask. Regardless, he answers, "You know Rumplestiltskin? Got something for it from him. Well actually, stole it from him. That doesn't matter though. What have you done whilst I've been gone? Have you carried on giving out eggs in the enchanted forest?" He isn't even sure how long it's been. He swears he heard 28 years somewhere, but that sounds a bit long.
