Fantasy A Time of Kings

Jonathan sits back down and puts his hands on the table "Well then, for the evening, let us celebrate. A round on me, may our fellowship spawn many bold tales!" he says enthused and leans back on his chair, holding his hand up to try and get eye contact with the barmaid again. Like Robin, Jon wasn't considering the dangers. Most of his life had been about recounting tales of heroes and warriors and reminiscing the legends of old. Now this... This was a legend in the making, Jon was sure of it and so, all the more reason to celebrate.

"So Master Halfling, been on many adventurers? Aha, now would it be strange for a wandering bard to do something wondrous... and compose a ballad, of himself? Or must he find a bard to do it for him?" Robin asks with a wistful smile. The barmaid comes, delivers the drinks and retrieves the coin.

Her original question still stands, with an ulterior motive. She wants to know what this halfling is capable of.

Rowan walked back over to Robin and Jon. "M'am? Your friend from Zaterra said he wanted to see you. I don't know where he went though."@Foxgirl Jay

Yaro stood outside, thinking quietly as he pondered how to find his target. Obviously, she was nearby, otherwise there would be no sense for the inn-keeper to misdirect him.....a back room, maybe in the tavern? It's possible. Yaro weighed out his options, and decided to look through the windows of the Tavern. He'd wait outside for the moment, to ponder his next action carefully. Obviously these were a close-knit group of people, so if he wanted to catch Robin, he had to use his head.

Jonathan laughs "Many adventures... Eh, you might say I've had me run-ins. But anything worthy of song, I HIIIGHLY doubt it." he says scratching himself behind the ear "But y'know, I've travelled alot, seen places and got friends scattered across the known world." he says, taking a hold of the new ale "But what ye mentioned about humility, I guess it goes for the good ol' bard aswell. Yer a hero or a bard, but both or neither and yer a braggart." he pauses for a moment "Now, that's not to say I can't write princess charming here a fair lil' ditty." he says nodding at Robin with a smile, and raising his tankard at her "Cheers!".

It was true that Jonathan had travelled around alot and perhaps if the evening grew longer, he'd tell some stories of it. But his skillset wasn't the adventurer's one neccesarily. He was good at talking himself out of situations or difusing them. But how much use that would be to dismantling a rebellion one had yet to see. But if nothing else, he was a fair enough cook and had garnered enough coins over his lifetime by bartering or performing to pay for a small adventure on his own.

Robin takes a long draught from her mug while listening to Jonathan... and the mention of something long ago from the Elf. "I've no friends from Zaterra. The place is completely destroyed..." She remarks. No point explaining further upon it. She'd heard the tavernkeep yelling at someone. Could it be related? The answer isn't clear. That someone left the inn right after. Mysteriously cloaked.

But, attention back to her conversation partner. Robin cradles her mug, gently tilting it around, swirling the thickly scented ale within. She has nothing more to say really. Looking down at the dark liquid, deep in thought and past brought up to the front of her mind. An unpleasant, not-so distant past. She frowns, gripping the mug tighter. Almost imperceptible shifts in emotion. "I've a bad feeling about all this." She mumbles quietly to herself.

Yaro would proceed to step around the building, hoping to find his target. It wouldn't be long until he found her, conversing with the elf from before, and a strange man, a bard from the looks of it. Walking back around, and stepping inside, he walked into the area where the rooms were, using the windows he walked past to count his way to the door. Standing outside the door, he lifted a hand, and knocked on it. 'Today you get yours, Robin' Yaro thought to himself. It was time to come face to face with the traitor herself. He kept his hood and mask up, to make sure that he wasn't recognized. He doubt she'd recognize his voice anyway.

(Robin, Rowan and Jonathan are seated together at a table, inside the tavern.

Yaro is inside.

Thorenson is outside the tavern.

Kirk is standing outside, between the tavern and the blacksmith [one of my posts has a map of Caed Nua] ) @Sexy McGee

Robin looks to Rowan. "There's nothing to be sorry for." She says, before looking up. The way they're seated, Robin see's the strange man approach. "Stop there. You've been asking about me, and I don't know you. So, that's something that bothers me." Robin crosses her arms defiantly. "Whoever you are, you'd best not make an enemy of me... for you'd make an enemy of the Grandmaster Wizard, Nanfoodle Altebolt." Robin says, nodding at the halfling sitting with her.

(@Foxgirl Jay Thanks)

Mako leaves the tavern and unties Fang. Fang wiggles her tail in excitement and obediently sits next to him. He sees a man and tries to spark a conversation "Hail, traveler!" (where ever Thoreson is . . .) Fang barks at the man as Mako strokes her fur.

Yaro listened, watching as the woman looked towards him. There was no mistaking it: It was Robin. It took all of his restraint not to kill her where she stood.....Yaro instead reached out, and pulled out a Victory ring, similar to the one he forged for her ages ago. "The people of Zaterra call you to stand trial for your crimes.....as do I, you traitorous whore. "Yaro said.

Yaro held the ring out, before lowering his mask, and pulling his hood of his head, revealing him for who he was: Yaro Azar, the Last Zaterran. "It has been a long time, Robin...."

A twitch of anger, and confusion. No possible way it could be the same man, he was long dead. Hands slam down on the table, Robin's eyes and head turned down, drawing eyes. Patrons turn their attention. A stranger cloaked in dark colours and sinister bearing, confronting the woman they've known for months. "I know not, how you know me or that man from my past, and what possessed you to steal that face, and come here..." Robin looks up, fire in her eyes. "I'll not take this cruel knife in my gut willingly! Begone from my sight impostor, bearer of twisted truth, or I'll show you defeat like you've never felt!" A dangerous growl to her voice. She stands suddenly, knocking her chair over with a crash of wood against wood. Ever a quick draw, from beneath her cloak she draws that most dangerous of weapons, Dragon's Breath the fire cannon. "Fucking... Just, leave!" She growls. That twin ring in her pocket feels heavier than ever.

All of the strong men and women know where they would stand in a conflict. With one of their own, bonds forged through hard work and determination to see Caed Nua back to it's glory. Rising from their seats. Ready for a fight, if a fight comes.

"Even now, you deny the truth?! It proves just how much a coward you really are! "Yaro said, drawing his blade, Burning Coal. Magic weapons were a specialty of the city of Zaterra, so there was no mistaking it: It was Zaterran craftsman-ship, as was the gauntlet over his left arm. "You left me and my clan to die back in Zaterra, after we swore to protect each-other! I will not stand while those that left my people for dead live! Just so happens, I didn't have too. A Foolish necromancer tried to bind me after he brought me back, to learn the secrets of Zaterran blacksmithing......I rewarded him by cleaving off his head. "Yaro said, his gauntlet glowing with power.

"I swore on the graves of my people I would hunt you all down and make you pay for leaving us to die! You are just another name I need to cross off. "Yaro said, before looking around. He knew he wouldn't escape if just attacked her, and he made a promise to the inn-keeper......so be it. He sheathed his sword, and sat his cloak down, revealing his armor. "I challenge you by Rite of Blood, for revenge for those that you left for dead...."He said, then thought of something that he believed she would accept him as Yaro Azar. "If there is any of the same woman who I forged that Victory ring for, you will go outside and answer it. I told the Inn-keeper I would not damage her place of business, and unlike you, I keep my promises."

Damn it all she thinks, unable to deny it more. She'd hoped against hope that it wasn't the same person. Magic was still largely a mystery to her, she didn't know all it was capable of. "I'll not risk my life on the lies of a corpse! You must've lost your mind when they brought you back! I wanted to stay and fight, but you told me to leave! I'll not have any of that! You died, and this corpse in your place, is merely a raging ghost. Even death could not humble you, no, it made you petty and forget just who you were!"

Robin gets a heartless look on her face. "You promised to protect your home, and you broke that promise. I kept mine, to leave." She speaks so callously, with the finality of the horrid truth. "You should have stayed dead."

Yaro would simply look towards Rowan. "Believe me, my friend, I have no intention to fight you. Lower your weapon, my blade only wants her. "He said to him. When Yaro heard what Robin said, both of his hands lit aflame, and his eyes seemed to glow brighter. "I will send you to hell, Traitorous dog!" He said to her reaching for his sword, and redrawing. Though now, Robin could see something off. When he had the blade out, it began.....shaking, and it would be obvious it was his arm shaking, not the blade. Whatever dark magic brought him back had also twisted his mind, though it was obvious that Yaro did not want to kill her. He felt obligated to do so, but that was about it. It was, though it was slim, a chance that some of his humanity might remain.

(@Foxgirl Jay @Ldybug123 the only way he's going to stop now, is if he finds a greater injustice.....aka, the Tyrant of Hel's point. As the old saying goes: The enemy of my enemy is my friend.)

(Ah. I was aiming for more of a redemption through shame approach. ) @Andraus

Robin frowns. "I'm not going to just let you kill me. I've things planned, far more important than your petty rage! Try to strike me down, and you're getting between me, and the lives of innocents who need a hero. " She points westward. "I'm not going to let you stop me from saving those people. If I have to, I'll end your life, and make sure it stays ended." Grim resolve. Robin believes in her words, thinking she could fight this old friend... Ignore the doubt. Be ready, always. She can hear her heart pounding in her ears, ready to spring to action. She points a thumb at her chest. "I'm going to end the rebellion, and take the head of that Tyrant myself!"

(Had to think of a way to word it that seemed like I wasn't just... y'know >3> )

(It's k @Foxgirl Jay xD )

Yaro stopped as he heard of the Tyrant. He had heard of it, and had wanted to take the bastards head for himself. However, with Robin, the archer, and the bard....it would be a lot easier. He needed allies to end a rebellion, and he knew Robin: If she was going to fight, there were going to be people willing to follow her, for she could gain the trust of people easily.....just not keep it. Holding up his hands, he'd close them and the flames would vanish. "I will accompany you.....Not to help you, but if anyone in this world is going to put you in the ground, it will be me. I will follow you....this one last time. "he said, sheathing his sword. Obviously, he was leaving no room for debate.

(Weh, busy as heck today ;3; had to be away so much )

"As if I'd let someone who just made a threat upon my life travel with me in confidence! No matter who you used to be. It's absolutely out of the question." Robin thinks more on it. "Your unlife is a product of foul necromantic magic, and there's no possible way I'll trust that!"

(pls post :< )

"I live and breath to see injustice pay, so that what happened to my family does not happen again. If you are any woman of ANY kind of integrity, or if you are at least ONE SHREAD of the woman I once nearly swore my life too, then you will let me fight for you: That tyrant's head will roll, and it will be the last voice of Zaterra, with those that shall see Hel's point liberated. "Yaro said. Obviously, as Robin would remember, Yaro still carried his hatred for injustice, and a high sense of principle and honor. Even though it was obvious that Yaro did not trust Robin, he couldn't sit back and watch others suffer.
