Fandom 7 days to die (Open 'till the 7th day!)

Lithia sighed and nodded "I guess you're right, it looks like we've got all we can get here, and we can't stay out here forever. I'll send him another text, he can meet up with us at the roadside and we can head into town towards the shelter" Lithia then got on her phone and texted him, sending him the new GPS location.

  • We're heading into town towards the shelter, can you try to meet up with us? we're staying to roadside.

Finally, King's phone went off.

  • About damn time... I hope I don't need you to find anything for me.  -_-  I'm not far from their.  About 23 miles.  Provided nothing's in the way I can be there in less than ten minutes.   How's Jon doing again?

It may have been rude, but King amused himself with little things.  Besides, it felt like the world was ending.  A little rudeness may be required.

•Jon? If you mean the guy with the van...he's not good, actually he's very much dead unless she's just been knocked through the windshield which I highly doubt btw you'd be lucky to have me find something for you.

Lithia texted him back shaking her head and sighed turning back to them "He says he's abitu 23 miles from the shelter and can be there in ten if nothing is blocking is way"

"Okay. We'd better get a move on to meet him halfway," without another word she pocketed the phone she held and walked away. Before she left the cabin, she stopped. "I'm going to go ahead and run out to the street. You can follow when you want."

"I'm coming, just a second," She ran in the cabin and got a knife before coming back outside to follow her "Just in case, I'm kind if letting Eric borrow my army knife to make an axe handle...it might take a while"

King stared at his phone for a moment and let out a little sigh.  Oh well, not like I had anything to do with his death.  It's all in the business...

  • What a shame.  You keep the meat?  Never know how long this is going to last.  You might be surprised what looks edible after two weeks.

As soon as he sent the text he remembered his backpack.  Probably should hide that.  People can be rather rash when it comes to these things. King slowed the car to the side of the road, and got out opening the back door.    He grabbed his backpack opening it to see two thick stacks of cash, syringes, and two wrapped black bricks.  He pulled out about half of one of the stacks, and about a third of one of the black bricks adding both to his camera bag, with several syringes, leaving it around his neck.  Then he opened the trunk leaving the backpack in there.  Who knows what sort of trades I'll have to make on the fly.  The world may be ending, but money shock will say more than I can if I've got to think on my feet. Ha...  It's a shame most modern families haven't held five grand at one time, and now the world might be over.  King's cynicism was getting the best of him already, and he already was losing concern for the world around him.   What mattered now was surviving; he'd use anything to do such.  With the last thought he sped toward the group.

Mavis nodded in reply to Lithia's statement and headed outside. "I have a switchblade, so you can count on that at least. Hm. It's getting late. You wouldn't have a flashlight, would you?" She broke into a light jog, trying to outrun the growing dark.

Lithia looked at her phone and sighed, shaking her head looking at the text, she'd turned all unnecessary things off to save as much power on it as she could for as long as she could.

  • We haven't done anything with the people yet, and I don't think we're at the point of canabalism yet, it’s only been a few hours jeez.

"This guy has quite the sense of humor...or a really dark mind, I haven't decided yet" Lithia puts her phone away as they continue to walk.

"A tiny led flahlight, it's pretty bright actually but other than that I only have torch on my phone" Lithia reached in her pocket and pulled out the flashlight and clicked the button "Hopefully it'll last, I don't use it much but I've only got one battery,  but we should at least be good for a while, it should definitely last tonight," Lithia started to jog after her

A deer runs in front of @Soz's car)

King's phone went off, and he looked down for a moment.  Fiddling with the lock screen, he couldn't seem to get open.  What a pain in the ass.  I never remember to turn this shit off.  Soon as the screen unlocked he looked up, and saw a deer.  There wasn't any time to stop going 80 mph.  The deer slammed into the car, rolling partly through the window before getting slung to the roof and rolling off.  King jerked the wheel to the side out of instinct, but it was far too late.  The car went side-ways, then on it's side, then rolled to the top finally sliding to a stop.   King hit his head on the side of the car and was out cold.

Lithia continued to jog with the others as they made their way towards town to the shelter, hopefully they'd find some useful supplies, maybe even people. They were supposed to meet up with the mystery guy, but that was just one other person...the again maybe not having too many people was a good thing. Strength in numbers but sustainable numbers.

He hefted the hatchet that the other person had given him. "I have an idea." He paused and looked for a good tree, taking a suitable branch, cutting it up and chopping the twigs off, gathering the wood. He grabbed an extra shirt from his backpack and tore it into strips. putting it on the now cleared of twigs branch, he grabbed a lighter and set it on fire. It wasn't super duper bright, but it was a good torch and should last him a while. "Man makes fire, blows himself up, and makes fire again."

"Well in that case we can save the flashlights and the phone lights, save all the electronics, and as a plus it doubles as a weapon if needed" Lithia continues to follow on their way to city "How far do you think it is on foot?"

King slowly regained consciousness.  Coming to his senses, with blurred vision he could make out something wasn't right.  What... What just happened?
He went to raise his arm but realized he as pulling up in the wrong direction.  He noticed he was upside down, and slowly became fully aware.  Looking around he didn't know where anything was, but looking down on the roof of the car he saw his cell with a cracked screen, though albeit intact with Lithia message on it. After reading it, he braced himself, and unbuckled.  He fell down in an awkward position, and thought, Maybe I should have opened the door first?  Fucking Honda being small as shit.   In reality, his BRZ was probably half the room of this car, but it was a Honda so it made it worse by default in all aspects.

King twisted a bit, and reached through his legs to open the door letting his legs go with gravity as the door slung open.  In hindsight it was probably another mistake letting his lower back plop squarely on the frame of the car.   After a string of loud, barely uttered words that one could only assume to be profanity by the tone King rolled to his stomach, grabbed the phone, and backed out of the doorway.

  • Bad news.  I just totalled this car.  I was going pretty fast, and smashed a deer.  I think my head is bleeding a bit, and I'm fairly certain my left hand is broke.  You wouldn't happen to have any blonde, seven foot tall, Scandinavian women in the group that can carry me off like the damsel I feel like right now would you?  Fuck...  I hate to ask for help.  Really.  I do...  But I doubt I'm going to make it very far in my condition before I pass out again.   I'm not telling you to do anything, and if no one is willing to come my way, well.  I suppose the woods next to me will have to do.  I'm going to be making a fire near the wreck, somewhat close to the road.    Free deer meat to anyone that comes.

After sending the message, he looked around seeing the deer on the other side of the road, with it's chest still moving.    It's leg was torn almost all the way off, and it's intestines weren't exactly intact.    King hobbled over to the pitiful animal, and gently put his hand on it's head while fumbling in pain for his knife with his left hand.  Taking the knife with the right hand, he dug the knife in the neck, and pulled it across, then twice, then three times.  The animal's chest didn't move anymore.  Well, at least I've got dinner.   Now... To find wood...  Just take it slow, Geoffrey.  Take it slow.    King rarely used his first name.   It reminded him of his mortality, and normality.   To do so meant he was taking things more seriously now.

Lithia looks at her cellphone and reads the text and sighs, texting him back afterwards.

  • Sorry no Scandinavian amazons here here, all we've got is two guys, but we'll try to find you, where are you, do you know? Give us a hint or something?

"Alright bad news guys the mystery guy just totalled his car and he needs help, he doesn't think he can move very far without passing out. He said he hit a deer, and he's going to make a fire so...anyone up for a rescue mission?" Lithia looked around, it may not have been exactly what they hoped for but there was still someone out there and she thought they needed to go and find him. @Albion @historic @Soz

Ryan shook his head as he finally stirred, a good ten feet away from the totaled van his friends were in. They were all gone now, and he shook his head and groaned. "Fuck me, man..." He grumbled as he slowly stood, leaning on a tree for support. He pulled out his phone and sent a text toward the group chat his friends were in.

  • Hey... It seems you guys are gone... I just woke up from... Whatever the fuck just happened. Where are you guys? I took a beating from the crash, bit scratched up and I think I sprained an ankle. And I.fugje

Ryan touched his chest and dropped his phone, the message sending as he yelled out in pain. He slowly picked up his phone and sent another message.

  • Yeah... Bruised rib or two as well. Anyway I will be on my way as soon as you let me know where you are, I still have my gun, but only the mag that was in it. I hope you guys aren't dead.

Scott thought about who the mystery man was, and what the possibilities were. he knew nobody else was going to volunteer, so he spoke up.

"I'll be willing to do it. this guy seems sketchy though, may I see his number for a second?"

He looked at the number over Lithia's shoulder. "I don't recognize that number. I'll do it anyway, no-one else is going to."

Scott knew the danger of what this stranger could do. he thought to himself, "what if he's a murderer?" Scott's mind wandered. But he still looked back at the group, waiting for any objections.

Mavis nodded. "I'd be willing to go with Scott. I'm a quick runner, but I think I'd need him as backup in case the man isn't who he says he is. Any idea where he may be? Can you ask if he can send a GPS location or describe his surrounding to you?"

She waited for an answer when she heard Lithia's phone ding again. "Wait, can you open that up? I think someone else texting you, Lithia."

King now had a small fire going, and had a nice chunk of meat hanging over the fireplace;  He was only about a hundred paces into the woods.  Far enough that you'd probably miss the fire if you drove by, but impossible to miss if you were walking.  It was by no means an expertly executed pit, nor was he a butcher.  It didn't look nearly as appetising as he'd remembered deer being, but this was when he lived across the nation near the East coast where almost anyone with a pair of testicals could carve a deer blindfolded.   That life never suited him.  He always had a longing to be in large cities, but look where it got him.  Peddling in dangerous business, and taking photos of scenery for postcard material for a cover up.  I wish I were better at this survival shit.  This meat is going to take all night at this rate...  I suppose I should be happy this switchblade could dig it off the bone.

King looked at his phone, wondering if he should ask if help was coming, and then reading the messages he realized he'd never sent coordinates.  HA!  I guess I can't expect much if they don't know where the in the Sam Hell I am.

  • Hey, almost forgot.... I'm at XX coordinates.  Hope that helps.  I suppose you couldn't come without me telling you that.

King wondered if anyone was even going to come.  A low battery signal flashed on the phone.  Who knows?  Maybe I'll pass out and just not wake up.  I could have a severe brain injury.  Maybe that'd be easier, but fuck that.  My life is a little too important right now.  With those parting thoughts King laid back, and closed his eyes listening intently to the fire crackle and focused the rest of his attention on the aroma of the meat to cure his growing hunger pains.

"Well he just sent us his coordinates, I can lock it on on my phone and it should tell us where we are and where he is and how to get there," Lithia saw another text on her phone and she raised an eyebrow at it wondering how all these people were getting her number "I just got another text, someone woke up back at the cabin, in the van, someone else is alive"
