Realistic or Modern Zombie Apocalypse

That was apparently clearly a sore subject filled with all sorts of baggage. The girl had also managed to avoid her initial question. Why was this girl still around? Echo shouldn't have gone after them in the building previously if she hadn't wanted to get involved. Perhaps Aidan would hound her later but it seemed that this was too dangerous a time to ask about pasts and motives.

"Sounds good," Aidan couldn't help but look Echo over again. She knew everyone had more to them. Everyone had a story these days but it seemed that Aidan was getting closer to something, "Not the baby shooting thing...or the you necessarily being good... I'm going to see if the others want to do something specific."

Once the car slowed, Aidan slowly scanned the horizon before exiting the car. She could see the others close behind and waved them down. It looked like Austin was driving now. Hopefully Jennifer was alright. Aidan waved at them, hoping they would slow down before they got too close to the mill.

"female bond...are you..wow..wow you really don't spend allot of time with women do you..." Tori asked and raised an eyebrow at that. Female bind..she scoffed she would female bond him! hah...even if that didn't make much sense. Whatever she knew what she meant. She cast a sideways look out the window before peering over the seat to look out the windscreen and she laughed softly at the shape of the car in front of them..and the not so straight line it was driving in ""Hey maybe she's drunk?" She joked. Tori leaned back against the soft cushion of the seat only to sit right up straight again "I am not soft." she stated firmly and crossed her arms over her chest. In fact she was surprised she had even taken to these people so well but when they both agreed on the plan it seemed like she wasn't having much say in the matter. She frowned..she was as likely to tell them to put on their big girl pants and deal with the fact some strangers had pulled up at their door.

"if i die i will turn into a zombie and come back and eat you!" she declared and pocked Austin in the back of the head. As the mill came into sight a slight niggle of worry started to work it's way into her stomach. What if this was A TRAP? She sighed heavily. Well might as well go out in a blaze of glory than chomped to death and drooled over right? "I'll go in on my own" she decided and was already starting to get out of the car. "Aiden should stay with echo she seems to have made a bond with her we kinda haven't annnnnd Austin should stay with you since he knows at least something about medicine." Tori stepped out of the car completely and peered over at the mill..eugh. "here ya might as well hold onto this..Seriously don't let me die..i am so not ready." She chucked the shotgun into the back of the car..it wasn't like she could use it. besides she figured going in all guns blazing wouldn't make a great first impression right? She looked over at Aiden and smiled slightly "I am gonna head in first..one of us will be less threatening than all of us..you guys hang back..i'll give signal or something.." She shrugged at that and headed to the entrance at the mill and sort of stared at it.

Should she knock? she was going to knock. She didn't really know if there was a new set of post apocalyptic etiquette rules or whatever. Tori gave three sharp raps on what she supposed would be considered the front door, Did mills have front doors? eh she would ponder over that later; and she simply headed in. "uh...Hello? i come in peace" she called and even raised her hand's in the air as she walked in, in hoped of finding sights of the woman that were meant to be there.

Austin snorted at Tori's comments, "You know what I meant, they have babies. I'd have to say I'm probably more intimidating than you two, no offense, but I feel like they're less likely to shoot you. There's more of an understanding is all I meant." I can't say a damn thing without offending someone anymore. Then Tori wanted to go alone, which hadn't been what he was suggesting in the least. His thumb tapping the steering wheel in rhythm as he watched her go. "Screw it." He mumbled as he opened the car door, "I'm not getting caught out here with my pants down, if it's a trap I want to know where they are and how many." After getting out he poked his head back in and looking over the seat at Jennifer, "If your up for it you may want to get in the driver seat. Let's just hope you won't need to."

Austin took out his gun as he walked at a different angle than Tori had, checking the clip he sighed inwardly. Three bullets left. He'd used most of what was left on the horde that had cornered them in the building earlier. Giving a nod towards Aidan who was out of the car, "Going around the side." Sliding the clip back in he made his way around the side of the mill, there we're bound to be some windows where he could get a spot on whoever was inside somewhere. If someone thought they'd get the drop on Tori or the rest of them he figured he could get the drop on that person first.

Miyuki stood up on her rock as she saw a bunch of strange people that she has never seen before, 'This can only mean trouble.' She thinks as she quickly draws one of her arrows back and looks over at them, 'They have guns and I am out numbered, good thing the others are in the car' She moves around the windmill, to where the door to the place seemed to be. She points her drawn arrow at the girl who knocked on the door as well as keeping a close eye on the others that she was with, "Who are you?" She asks as she prepared herself to fight them, hopefully giving enough time to the other women to get out of there.

Echo loaded her pistol, and got out of the car. "Now, is that anyway to treat a guest? Your buddy Holliday, saved our asses and im being dragged over here, so if you don't put down that bow, I'm gonna spatter your brains all over the place." Echo said as she juggled her black loaded pistol, while looking at the girl with the bow.

Miyuki stood her ground as she thinks on a plan to keep everyone alive if these people attack, she heard Holliday's name but stood firm, "How do I know you are telling the truth, for all I know you all could have gave him some supplies in exchange for our location," she said. She knew Holliday wasn't that type of person, but in this world, it was hard to trust anyone's word without solid proof.

Echo groaned as she lifted her head up to the sky. "OH FOR GODS SAKE. Okay, somebody talk to her before I shoot each chop off an arm." Echo said loudly and irritable.

Some of the commotion was loud enough to awaken Tiffany, which left her worried. When she noticed that Miyuki had her bow out and was talking to a couple of strangers, looking back at Skylynn, she sighed before looking at the beautiful baby boy. She grabbed her gun and holstered it before exiting the car. Quietly, she sped over to Miyuki, which was a little tough in her condition. "Miyuki, what's going on?" She wasn't about to leave without the other girl, her Motherly instincts kicking in. And of course, she was going to be very stubborn about it.

Aidan wanted to offer to head with her. She wanted to see who these people were herself, though she also cared for Tori's well being. Regardless, it seemed Tori's mind had been made up. Aidan watched from a distance as Tori knocked on the door. She listened closely to see if she could here a crowd of people or a horde of undead. For a second Aidan thought they must have knocked on the wrong door but sure enough, a girl did answer. She seemed to have a bow, which was a change of pace. Still would have appreciated if she could have met them without being threatened. They did have people they were defending though so Aidan would give them leeway this time around. Echo did not seem to take it well though.

"Echo, please be quiet?" she groaned out, "We want them to know that we're friendly... and put the damn gun away."

It was at that moment where she realized that she was technically fully armed. She put her gun down in front of her slowly to show she was no threat before making her own attempt at diplomacy, "We don't really have any proof other than our own words. Holliday helped us deal with a horde a little earlier but should be back later if you want to hear him vouch for us."

This felt like a weak argument. It also might mean that they would be stuck outside until the boy got back, which wouldn't be all that comfortable for anyone. Aidan wasn't even sure if Holliday would make it back, "We promise we mean you no harm. Are there any conditions in which you would let us enter?"

She didn't like the idea of giving them her weapons but chances were that that would be the case. It would give those inside a huge upper hand. If they were to attack them they would not have had a difficult time in doing so but she didn't like the idea of just waiting out here for someone who may not have even survived. Aidan looked around at everyone, looking for anyone who might have been better at convincing the girl. Her eyes settled on Tori, not because she knew Tori was good at diplomacy but because she had volunteered to do this previously. Tori also generally seemed more experienced and or comfortable with other people.

Echo looked at Aiden like she was insane, "Seriously? Yeah no, screw that! I'd rather blare a siren all over town then put my damn gun down." Echo now mildly annoyed, she didn't get the point of trustworthy at the moment, even they wanted these people dead, they would've shot rock woman and the other woman that Echo was also about to shoot. Echo now put her gun away and started to twirl her katana around.

Seeing how the other women were armed, Tiffany wasn't really inclined on helping them. She also felt that opening up to them will not only put her in danger, but also her baby, Miyuki, Josh and Skylynn. She moved her Cardigan a bit to show that she was armed as well. However, her gun wasn't exactly drawn. The one that worried her most was the woman fiddling with the blade. Tiffany didn't do so well with sharp objects due to her extreme fear of C-Sections. "Miyuki...Let's just go. If we wait around any longer, we could jeopardize Josh and Skylynn, and I am not gonna let you throw your life away." She said in a subtle tone. It was obvious that she didn't really trust the outsiders and didn't really care if they were offended or not.

Skylynn watched as Miyuki and Tiffany went to go see who had been knocking. She swallowed nervously and held onto Josh protectively. When she heard a voice that was growing kind of loud and irritable she bit her lower lip as Josh began to wake up and fuss. She slowly opened the car door, aware of how much danger she could be putting her and her baby in, but it was going to be difficult to console him in the confined space of the back seat. She began to pat his back and murmur soothing words into his ear.

A few moments later she grinned and fist bumped the air because he has quieted down almost immediately and had fallen asleep once more. She slowly and carefully moved, albeit painfully, to where Miyuki and Tiffany have wandered over to. She hides her whimpers of pain and when she gets close enough to them she gently places a hand on Tiffany's shoulder to steady herself. "I swear to god. The next person who yells is going to have to deal with me because you just woke up my son. Luckily for you I was able to get him back to sleep. Who knows about the next time." She stated, not really sounding too angry, just frustrated and tired.

Jennifer transitioned into the driver seat of the car, silently agreeing with Austin that it would be a good idea in the case they needed to go. Jennifer didn't mean that Tori was soft as in the way Tori took it. What she meant was that she was more of a people's person, compared to the others with them, and it could help them not escalate things.

Jennifer's pain started to strike again. She silently grabbed the wound, instinctively. This only hurt her more, but she tried to put the pain aside, as now was not a good time for pain. Watching Tori as she knocked on the door, she wondered what was going to happen, and what these people were like. She wondered if they would attack, either for their own reasons or due to them being provoked by one of us. She wondered if this were a trap or not, or is anyone would die. The possibilities are endless, and Jennifer was getting nervous that this could end rather badly.

When she saw a woman with a bow drawn, Jennifer hoped that this wouldn't make matter worse. In the end of the world, or new beginning, depending on your perspective, it was really just common for someone to draw their weapon on another person when they show up. There is no way to know if that person is good or bad. Even then, it could make things worse. We're all just trying to survive, and survival means you do anything necessary to ensure it. But hopefully, humanity isn't lost in the process.

Jennifer was intrigued that the woman carried a bow. Sure, it has its pros and cons, but bows aren't very common now. This thought process was suddenly interrupted by the sudden fit that Echo was throwing. God. Fucking. Damn. It. She's really doing this? Jennifer knew that Echo is stupidly escalating the situation, telling this girl that she'll blow her brains out because the bow is drawn on her. How hypocritical of her, Jennifer thought to herself. Jennifer know is getting extremely agitated by Echo. She grabs her gun, but keeps it below view from anyone. With the way Echo is handling this, it looks like things are going to become bad, and very, very fast. Jennifer wanted to get out and try to calm everyone down. But she knew the plan: things go south, she is able to drive whoever away from here. So, she sat in the car, watching the situation unfold, growing more and more agitated by Echo.

The appearance of two more women means that Echo is now pissing off and making us look bad with two more people now. Jennifer felt like there was no way possible that they could get out of this looking like the people we want to be; helping them. They need to deescalate the situation, and especially Echo. Jennifer considered it herself. But she had to stick to the plan as back up. But maybe, however, she should try and be diplomatic. Jennifer wrestled this thought in her head. Jennifer would give it a bit longer to see if diplomacy from someone could make things better. She sat quietly and continued to watch.

"Wah wish guys let's umm let's all cam down ok?" Tori asked amd kept jer hands in the air but she moved afew steps back so she was now positioned in the middle of the new group and her own. "Look this is getting of to a real bad start...I'm not armed ok?" She turned in a circle as if to prove her point before looking back and bow and arrow girl. "Holiday really did send us he pretty much saved our butt's if we had some something to him why would we even bother coming here. Why would he have told us about you in the first place" tori asked

It was around about this time she heard echo and sighed hanging her head "would you get in the damn car!" She snapped toward the girl. She really wasn't helping the situation and her temper was going to be a real problem she could tell already. Tori turned back to the other women from the mill. "Look we promised to check in on you it was the least we could do. What if..ah we compromise? We will lock all our weapons in the car until holiday gets here and cab vouch for us. He'll you can even pat us down if you want but truth be told we are real damn tired have been rubbing for our lives all day and one of us is injured. We would just really appreciate somewhere warm safe and dry to sit down. Please"

Austin had been somewhere on the east side of the mill when he'd heard the voices coming from the front. At first he'd assumed Tori had made contact, and by now he'd felt content there weren't any people waiting for them in the mill as a trap. But then he heard Echo's voice getting loud and he audibly groaned before walking quickly around the side of the building. Being sure to slow down before he reached the corner and also walking loudly so as not to surprise anybody and accidentally get shot.

It was quite the scene seeing all the women standing around, of course from the sounds of things Echo was only worsening the situation to no surprise. "Weren't you supposed to stay in the damn car or something?" He asked, glaring at her momentarily, though happy she was putting her gun away. Of course Austin still had his out, but he had both hands in the air for the moment, gun pointing off into the sky. The man wouldn't have done so had the situation seemed bad, but on a scale of Put your hands up and Your dead no matter what, he bet on it being on the lower end. So for now he'd give them the benefit of the doubt.

Tori was attempting to hash out some terms and Austin scoffed when she said they'd lock up their weapons and now it was his turn to be a rebel, "Like hell I will." Standing quietly as they spoke for moments afterwards he huffed, "Look, the kid saved our asses. Made a plan, asked us to drop by here in case he didn't make it back to let you know. He also said it was a little safe, and we have someone injured that needs a safe place to get fixed up." With his hands still in the air he pointed one finger at the car where Jennifer sat behind the wheel, "And honestly we need a place to rest, it's been a hell of a day so far." It wasn't really until he'd said it did he realize that he was sore and tired from the events. "You want us to leave after that? Fine, we're gone. But we need a few hours to at-least catch our breath and let me fix her up. You ask us to leave now and you risk her life, more than usual." He wasn't a fan of playing this type of card, but they needed this, Jennifer mostly. Austin didn't trust these three strangers in the least, other than the fact that they didn't shoot on sight he had no idea the type of people they we're, other than the type to get knocked up right before the apocalypse.

Echo didn't react to Austims comment, she just slightly laughed. But didn't say anything else, she would let "the peacekeeper" do the talking. So she just paced with her katana.

Miyuki looks over at the woman and now the guy with his hands up in the air, 'They hold a valid point....and they all look extremely tired...' Miyuki sighs as she cures her kind nature as she looks over at the guy who was talking about the girl who was injured, "What's the injury? If she is infected there isn't anything you can do." She states. She lowers her bow at the ground, arrow still drawn for just in case. "If you all are telling the truth and she isn't infected, then I say you can stay for the night."

She looks over at Skylynn and Tiff, "I will watch them, make sure nothing funny happens." She whispers to the two women where the others couldn't hear. "If something happens make sure you three get out of here."

Tiffany sighed as she reluctantly showed some sympathy towards the women when Miyuki talked to her and Skylynn privately. Despite being a bit selfish for the sake of her little one, Tiffany was not devoid of compassion. However, she despised the idea of leaving Miyuki behind. When she volunteered to keep an eye out, Tiffany figured it would be nice to get some shut-eye. That was definitely what Skylynn and Josh needed right now too. "Okay. But I'm not leaving without you, whether you like it or not." she stated firmly before helping Skylynn and Josh over to a comfortable place to sleep.

Hailey pulled a hair tie from her wrist and managed to pull her ratted hair into a ponytail. She sighed and she stared at the sign that was only a few feet in front of her, quietly, she read out loud "Welcome to Gliding Dale Ohio, enjoy your stay.". She bit her lip softly and traced the letters, which were engraved into the hard granite surface. She pulled away just as she heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps coming from somewhere behind her, and she knew it was time to get moving. She took a quick look around and tugged the straps on her backpack as she began to run into the town, in the distance, she could just barely make out the shape of a mill.

Echo breathed a huge sigh of relif. "Good. I'm going to go take a walk." She stated before walking around those people and deeper into the woods with her weapons. She needed a break. A big one.

Skylynn nodded her head in agreement to Miyuki. "Wait. I was a surgeon before all of this happened. I could help you. If I had a supplies. But until we have supplies I could try and put something together." She stated, referring to the women who was injured. She shifted Josh into her left arm. She felt slightly concerned for the women.

As she approached the mill, Hailey's thoughts were elsewhere. A new town she thought. She couldn't help but wonder how far she was from home now, and for a second, her hand flew helplessly to her back pocket of her jeans where her phone still rested. She didn't know why she still held unto it, maybe because of the security she felt when it was near. As if when she was in trouble she could easily call for help, but she knew this was wishful thinking. She continued to walk forward, and by stroke of luck noticed the human figures, which were standing between the mill and a few cars. She put a hand over her mouth and nearly cried, she had not seen other humans since she left home. She nearly ran to them and embraced them in tight hugs before reality sprung back in and she realized that was probably very unsafe and insanely stupid. Instead, she backed up a bit and hid behind a large tree, whose roots she nearly tripped on. She sat attempting to listen, and tried to be quiet. She was only successful for a few moment before she began to feel a tingling in her nose.

No no no... she thought, but once again, wishful thinking.

She let out a loud noise as she sneezed, and listened as she heard it echo among the buildings and trees nearby.

Jennifer watched as Austin came out and now got involved. Thank god... Jennifer knew that even thought he isn't the most friendly person, or people person for that matter, he was smart enough to deal with situations like this. It felt as if at this point, it was up to either her or Austin to come out and try to deescalate things. Thankfully, Austin did. She was worried that getting out of the car could ruin the backup plan they had.

Listening to Austin talk, Jennifer perked up once she heard her name. Smart thinking, Austin. Using her and her injury to their advantage was smart, so long as they believe it wasn't a bite. She stayed in a bit longer, and listened, and they seemed to by it so far. One even said they used to be a surgeon, and offered to hell. Jennifer took this as an opportunity to come out and speak with them. Jennifer took her rifle, and sling it over her back. She stepped out of the car, with one hand up, and one clutching the wound, as it's pain started to grown intense, yet again.

Slowly stepping out, she did not try to hide the look of pain on her face, clenching her jaw, breathing sharply.

"I wasn't bite," she said, in a pained voice. The pain was growing more and more. But she needed to speak.

"I fell through a ceiling earlier today. Piece of wood lodged itself in my side. Took it out, little antiseptics, tried to stitch myself. I need it looked at properly an--" Jennifer was cut off by sharp pain. She suddenly collapsed to a knee, holding her wound, trying her hardest to conceal the pain. She then fell on the ground altogether.

She pulled herself together, fighting the pain, and tried to stand up.

"We have supplies. Please, help me, before this gets worse," she begged them, forcing the words out, fighting the pain that made her want to scream.

Echo was now far off into the woods. She could hear voices very distantly. But she wasn't aiming to get away. She was going somewhere. She stopped. 12 mounds of dirt sat along in a row on the grass, fairly hidden, some mounds had more grass then others looked more fresh. Rocks aligned the head of each mound. Each had a name carved into it. Echo sat on an old log across from the mounds. "Damnit why the hell did you leave me." She said angrily but in a normal amount of volume. Her head going into her palms. In a flash she picked out her knife from her pocket and threw it into a tree. She continued to throw multiple rocks until her rage left her with nothing but emptiness. "I'm sorry... I'm so so sorry, I shouldn't have left you I should t have.." Crying took over and Echo started to sob, starring at the mounds of dirt.
