World of Pokemon [Inactive]

Rooke was dozing in a tree when his Pokemon was awakened by a flash. The Squirtle then begins to poke the young trainer with no success at waking the boy up. With a look of frustation the Pokemon unleashes a cold burst of water at its trainer.

Within seconds, a now drenched Rooke woke up, nearly falling out of the tree. "Of course the one thing that wakes me up." He groans as he looks in the direction that the Pokemon was pointing. "There's nothing there except for more trees." He says beginning to doze off again, only to receive another well aimed blast of water to his face.

"Okay, okay, I'm up. Happy?" He asks his Pokemon who simply shook its head. The young trainer proceeded to drop from the tree and take in his surroundings. "Um, Squirtle, where are we?" He questions the pokemon which gave him a look of confusion in reply.

Jessica stepped off the ship she had taken to Vermillion from Slateport, her Eevee in her arms. "Let's go find Rooke." She tells the Pokemon as she walks to the residence of her childhood friend.

Once there, she knocks on the door to be answered by the boys parents. "Hello? Who are you?" The ask with looks of suspicion on their faces.

"It's Jessica. From when you guys lived in Odale. I'm an old friend of Rooke. Is he home?" She rattles off. Eevee meanwhile jumped from Jessica's arms, having spotted the family's Espeon and Umbreon. "Eevee, come back!" She shouts as she barges into the Hawkins' house.

Meeka heard the 'oomph' of Wind tripping and made haste to get to his side quickly. Once there she knelt down as Teddiursa dove into her bag in search of a berry.

"Are you hurt?" She looked up at Emolga who was circling above, casting a dim light around the two trainers. "Good job." She returned her attention to Wind, just as Teddiursa popped back up, a small plump Oran berry in her paw. She waved it around eagerly trying to offer it to the wounded trainer. Meeka plucked it from her paws and handed it to Wind, shrugging it as normal. Her eyes flickered between Wind and Houndour and she reached up to scratch the fiery pup behind his ears.

"Where were you going?" She addressed the eager Pokemon but waited for an answer from Wind.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Wind pushed himself out of the mud, and tried pulling the mud off of his clothes, to no success. He stood up, but wobbled over and leaned against a tree for support, his legs felt like lead, and one of them almost felt like it was on fire. Nodding to Meeka, and taking the Oran berry from her hand, he took a small bite into it. He tried to smile to Jayden, but couldn't work up the cheer.

"I have no idea where Houndour ran off too, but I think it may have been chasing... something. I dunno what it was, but there was something out there, something... Wrong. It was like it wasn't supposed to be here. We gotta get to the road, and quick. He spun around, despite being caked with mud, and tried to follow Houndour, who had begun walking away from the group, further down the forest path. But he only wobbled around, and had to lean against a nearby tree for support again.

"Damn, I can't move my left leg. It hurts like hell too, I think it might be broken." Sure enough, when he looked down, it had bended at a weird angle he was pretty sure it wasn't supposed to be able to bend at. Houndour came running back, and sat down on the side of the road, looking out into the deeper forest.

"That's really not natural." Jayden said, looking down when Wind had looked down and seeing the unnatural bend to his leg. She knelt down to get a different angle and shook her head. "If we can make it back to the road it may be best if we rest there for awhile instead of continuing on. Tomorrow Meeka and I can round up sticks or something to use as a kind of bed for you because walking on that isn't an option and I don't think any of us have pokemon large enough to carry you."

Jayden said, standing again. Trapinch squirmed in her arms until she set him down and he went over to look at Wind's leg as well. He let out a distressed Chirp and looked up at Wind forlornly, as if in sympathy of Wind's pain.

"You mentioned something unnatural though... do you mean unnatural like a dark pokemon? Or unnatural like 'ghosts' that aren't pokemon? Or... well what do you mean?" Jayden's mind was rushing at all that was going on... what if they were in serious danger at the moment? She couldn't help but feel a flash of panic but she pushed it aside. Panicking would get them no where at the moment and it was important to figure out what they were going to do next.

"I... Honestly don't know. It just... wasn't natural. Like something straight from a nightmare, I didn't even see what it really was, and I was terrified." Wind's head darted around when he heard something rustling in the bushes behind him. He shook his head.

Calm down you idiot! You're just freaking out the others!

"
There's really no need to go through so much trouble though... I mean, maybe Houndour could support while-" He tried to get over to Houndour, but fell over again.

"Damn it!" His leg burned like fire.

Get up! Come on, get up!

He pushed himself up again, and leaned his back against a tree, looking up into the worried faces of his friends.

Jayden had made the move to stop Wind from reaching out for houndour but then thought better of it, pulling back. But then felt especially bad when Wind fell to the ground again. Moving to his side, hands flicking about frantically, Jayden didn't really wait for permission before beginning to try and figure out where the break in the leg was and how bad it was.

Before Jayden could get a real read Wind was pushing himself up against a tree again and she was shaking her head. "Maybe it would be better if you sat down... but maybe we should make it to the road first. If you think you could hobble that far with Meeka and I supporting you I don't see why that wouldn't work for now. And if it works tonight maybe we can work it out tomorrow but... we need to figure out how to like 'splint' your leg and... I don't know how to do that. I've read about it in books and stuff where you tie straight sticks to help straighten the bone but it's so easy to do something wrong! And I'm rambling. This is really scary, guys..." Jayden said as she stood back up and began to pace. Tridon paced along with her, appearing to be deep in thought as well.

"One things for sure, we really can't move more tonight... but if we could just make it back to the road. We were following a road, weren't we?" Jayden could feel panic begin to creep up on her and her heart began to pound frantically in her chest. She kept glancing back at Wind before stopping next to him and offering a shoulder for him to lean on.

"Meeka and I can at least get you a little ways, I think... it'll probably hurt though. Or we could sit down here and wait out the night or something. What do we do, guys? What's the plan?"

"Jayden, I'm... I'm-" Wind couldn't keep a single word in his mouth. His head had begun pounding like crazy, and he couldn't think properly.

But there was something he processed. His leg was very wet.

It's... just water, right?

He thought desperately to himself as he moved his hands to his pant leg, and began pulling it up.

It's just water. It's just water. It's just water. It's just water.

He had closed his eyes as he rolled the pant leg up, but he opened them and looked down again. His leg was caked with blood.

"Oh. Well that's not right."

He felt his vision go blurry, and he looked up. Jayden and Meeka looked like they were standing miles above him, and then he passed out.

Meeka stood back during the panic. She had never understood why people could not remain calm, but that was because she never quite understood the severity of situations. She started digging through her bag, tossing a few small items into the mud carelessly before coming across her small metal chunks of gadgetry.

"Emolga, a bit more light please?" Emolga swooped up through the night, landing on a high branch before letter her cheeks glow with light. It was bright enough the entire area was lit up clearly, almost as if it was day light. Meeka looked up as she noticed Wind slump down, his face pale as he fell unconscious. With urgency she continued to go through her bag and pull out a small pouch which happened to also be filled with berries.

"Jayden, right?" She addressed the trainer who was looking both worried and sick, she hadnt quite gotten a chance to learn their names properly in such a short amount of time. The pool of blood could now be clearly seen and was distressing. She didn't wait for an answer. "I don't think we can move him in this condition. We can only treat him for shock and get help. We should just light up the area as best as possible and set up camp for the night."

As she spoke she flung the two metal clumps on the ground and pressed each of the stiff sides with her fore finger and thumb. A small clicking sound could be heard from each before they sprung into action. One grew and stretched into a large gazebo like tent. Open on all ends but on one side, and roomy enough to shelter at least 6 people comfortably through the night. The second began to expand into a very mechanical looking fire pit. At the base a small grate was attached at an angle, so that it could easily be swung over an open fire when the set up was finished. For the first time in the evening Meeka looked consciously worried.

"Little One, bring him this." She handed Teddiursa a small Lum Berry and shrugged. If it could cure Pokemon of status ailments why couldn't it cure lightweight humans. "We'll bring him under here, he can have my bedroll for the night. If there really is something out there, " She glanced past the camp into the darkness nervously, "...then I'll keep guard. Emolga can help me take on anything that comes at us." She nodded to assure her fellow trainers, but mostly herself.

68720_trainercard-Meeka.png

Rooke saw the light this time, immediately giving his Squirtle an apology of sorts. "Yeah, yeah, I see it now." he says running in the light's direction. "C'mon, maybe we'll get to see a battle." he continued with enthusiasm. He didn't enjoy being awoken and maybe a battle satisfied the void now left by hours of sleep that he would no longer get.

(sorry for a shorter post. trying to balance two rps and an essay)

Jayden nodded along as Meeka spoke, maybe it was for the best that they didn't move Wind though it made her uneasy on the off chance there really was something out there.

"Do you know anything about medical stuff?" She asked after a moment, wondering if maybe she and Trapinch set out they could find help while Meeka tended to Wind or something along those lines. Jayden was still pretty jittery as she paced back and forth, worrying about Wind and wondering what they were going to do now.

Meeka paused as she set about making a camp. She had already rolled out a few bedding supplies, and had lit her fire with a comforting flick of a switch. The grate had been put in place and a small pot had been retrieved from her bag and filled with a small bottle of water she kept handy.

"Well no, I don't quite know much." She took a long look at the hopefully recovering Wind, who Teddiursa was now prodding with a gentle and curious paw. "But I know what shock is, and I know he isnt gonna go far." She watched Jayden pace again before adding, "...And I know you pacing wont help either. It'll be ok, its just a break."

She reached out to the fire with her gloved hands, warming them more now that it had been lit to its full potential. The light flickered against her emerald green eyes as she dozed off in a myriad of thoughts. Her stare became intense before she looked up and made sure to have Jayden's full attention.

"Please don't go running off, its best if we dont split up at night." Her stare was full of concern.

Jayden paused her pacing a moment but her hands started twitching and her foot tapped against the ground nervously. Her gaze met Meeka's stare and she froze for the span of 5 seconds before she began to pace again.

"I didn't plan on running off- I planned on going to find help. It's what you said to do, isn't it? To go find help?" Jayden asked, her voice raised in pitch just a few octaves. "It's not ok, it's really really not. He's bleeding and what if he bleeds to death? I mean... he could bleed to death and I've never known someone who died and what if he comes back as a ghost pokemon and haunts us?! We have to get him help.. we have to do something!"

Tridon looked at his trainer, shaking his head as she rambled away. He looked at Wind, wondering if the trainer was going to be alright.

Meeka was taken aback by the passion in Jayden's voice. She had never meant to insinuate that the situation was optimal. Only that the outcome would be okay in the end. She sighed trying to keep calm in the chaos.

"True, we do need to get help, but splitting up in the middle of the night with multiple hours in each direction to a town is probably not the best idea." She began digging through her bag again and without looking up added, "Don't worry. He will not die. Yes its a lot of blood, but he's not alone and we can clean him up."

As she found what she wanted she gave a small start of an 'aha!' and lifted a well worn wooden spoon from her bag. She tugged loosely on one of the small silk bags that was carrying some cooking supplies and it came apart, into a long silk scarf that had been folded into a bag. This she tore in half and separated the two pieces with an exact carefulness. She only treated her food this delicately, and felt the same expression fall apon her face as when she cooked.

"Jayden, we're going to clean his wound and bind it so he doesn't lose anymore blood." She dipped one half of the silk into the now boiling water, sanitizing it and letting it cool momentarily. This she carefully brought to Wind and began tenderly washing the blood and removing bits of material that were in the way. Soon the area looked clean and bare. She soaked the bloody piece of fabric back in the boiling water to let all of the blood wash away and picked up the spoon again before returning to Wind.

Pausing she looked up to look for Hourdour who she had not noticed for a while. Seeing him pace and pant nervously made her call over Teddiursa with a quick nod of her head. Little One wandered over casually, asking with an inquisitive sound in her voice.

"Please calm Houdour for me Little One. He seems too panicked. He might run off." Teddiursa spun around to face Houndour and took a moment to catch his attention. Bringing one paw to her face she blew a soft kiss and spun with adorable precision. It was obvious Teddiursa had practiced the move 'Attract' on more than one occasion. Once Houndour was within her attention, she gave a friendly challenge to battle with a flourish of claws and fluttering eyes. It was more than enough to confuse and entertain one Houndour.

In the mean time, Meeka set about placing a splint and wrapping the newly cleaned leg.

68720_trainercard-Meeka.png

Jayden watched Meeka work with curiosity, offering help where she could and fetching things that Meeka needed when the girl asked. She was able to sit still enough to actually learn a little bit about how Meeka tends wounds but eventually her foot started tapping and she was up pacing again. She just couldn't sit still... it wasn't unlike her to be this way but it wasn't usually this bad... usually she could sit and just tap a foot or finger idly but she was practically vibrating with nervous energy.

"Are you sure he's going to be ok?" Jayden asked, needing the reassurance yet still fearing for Wind regardless of the number of times that Meeka said he would be fine. Jayden kept glancing toward Trapinch who met her gaze, before looking at wind again. When Meeka asked for her Teddiursa to help out Houndour Jayden and Tridon watched with interest.

Tridon attempted to mimic the Teddiursa but fell over in his attempt to be charming which caused Jayden to break out in tense giggles as she moved to help her Pokemon up.

"Is there anything else we can do for him? It's pretty insane that he broke his leg tripping, isn't it? This place is really bizarre and scary and maybe we should have stayed with Cross. She knew what she was doing but then we didn't want to miss Bugsy and I hope that we don't. Will Wind still be able to battle?" Jayden couldn't help it at times like this. She couldn't stand the silence and would start rambling to fill the air with sound, just so that it wouldn't be so quiet. She took a deep breath before rambling on- at times mumbling to the point where it was difficult to understand her.

Meeka sat up from her work. It was a clumsy looking splint, and obvious is made by someone who knew little about medical practice, but it would work in a pinch. She sighed reaching behind her head to tussle her hair before tightening the string that held it all back.

"He will be fine. All's we can do is wait until he wakes up. At least the bleeding stopped and he wasn't awake for all the pain of getting it wrapped. We can move him now." She nodded to Jayden to help her lift Wind to the tent canopy and tucked him into the bedroll she had set out. She watched as Houndour laid obediently next to his owner. Meeka hoped he would get some sleep.

"He should be able to battle if he wants, after he gets casted he wont even notice I'm sure." She looked at Teddiursa who had begun to play with Trapinch by mocking its moves.

"For now lets get our mind off of things." She eyed Trapinch more carefully. "What moves does he know? Do you need to..." she paused at the word, as it felt foreign to her, " ...train? Emolga and Teddiursa do contests, but they both know how to fight if needed. They can help."

Jayden looked a little sheepish at the questioning of Trapinch's moves. She allowed her eyes to linger on Wind a moment, her fingers crossed that he would be alright.

"Uh... Tridon knows Bite." Jayden said, as if this was neither a good nor bad thing but just a thing. Because really, it was. She and Trapinch hadn't had much time to train, really. It was pretty much that Jayden had cared for Tridon's egg and then when he hatched they were off on their journey. That was the end of it, really... bite was all he really knew how to do because it was something that came naturally to him.

"So what do you mean by contests?" Jayden asked curiously, not really having heard of it before. She glanced at the Teddiursa, trying to figure out if a contest was a special kind of battle or what but by the way Meeka had said 'Train' she had her doubts.

Meeka smiled at the question of contests. She thought of the decorations and skilled move sets, all moving in coordination. The thought reminded her of home and how far away that was and she grew silent.

"Contests are shows of skill in more..." she looked into the trees to think of the proper word, "...decorative ways. Battle moves used in coordinated ways to look either beautiful or cute." She gazed fondly at her two Pokemon, Emolga who was still in the trees, her cheeks still glowing despite her dozing off, and Teddiursa who was dancing in the moon light cheerfully. She gestured to each, pointing first at Emogla then Teddiursa.

"Emogla does Beauty contests, although normally electric Pokemon are in the 'cool' category. Teddiursa practices the 'cute' category. I don't really think that need explanation. " She gave a soft laugh that ended in an awkward sigh. "But their moves are all battle moves, and both must be able to fight in order to perform their moves accurately. Its all about performance and presentation."

She turned to face Trapinch, again addressing the Pokemon rather than the trainer when she spoke.

"Perhaps we can work with you to learn a new move. If you want to go against Bugsy then perhaps a stronger move would be best." She reached down to scratch Trapinch under its hard chin in a show of affection.

68720_trainercard-Meeka.png

Tridon chirped in acknowledgement, giving off a strange rumble that sort of resembled a purr from Meeka's affection. He was always up for learning a new move... he just didn't know how to begin doing such things. The idea of contests interested him, as well. He hadn't really battled enough to decide if he liked battling but perhaps he could learn both and decide from there.

"That's really fascinating. So do you plan on entering in any contests any time soon?" Jayden asked with interest. She was really curious and excited to see what a contest was like visually. It was probably more interesting than a pokemon battle in some ways, though there's something to be said about the beauty of a well strategized battle.

"Can Trapinch even learn a fire type move?" She asked after a moment. She thought that ground types could only learn ground type moves, etc. She paused... was Bite even a ground type move? She moved to pull out her Pokedex before realizing that it still wasn't functioning thanks to Ghastly. Something told Jayden that Bite actually wasn't a ground type move... she began to wonder what kind of moves Trapinch could learn. She really wished she had had more time to study and understand Pokemon... she wasn't even really sure what Trapinch evolved into or if it even evolved... and if it did how to go about making it evolve. "How do you train Pokemon to learn new moves, anyway?"

Meeka grimaced at her mistake. Of course Trapinch was a ground type, how had she not noticed? She slid he hand into one picket, pulling out a miniature pokedex and flipped it open. She put it over Trapinch which she had to manually type in. The compact size made it less technologically savvy. She shrugged as it began to list moves that Trapinch could learn.

Trapinch.

Its big jaws crunch through boulders. Because its head is so big, it has a hard time getting back upright it if tips over onto its back. Trapinch can learn Sand Attack, Feint Attack, Sand Tomb, Mud-Slap, Bide, Bulldoze .....

The list continued but Meeka had snapped her small device shut. She looked up from the device as she slipped it into her pocket. She gestured for Teddiursa to come over to her, an idea obvious in her expression. She picked up Teddiursa and spun her around in her moment of 'brilliance', putting her down in one fellow swoop.

"Ya see, " she began, looking back to Jayden with excitement, "Little One is a very skilled bear. And she just so happens to know a move your Trapinch can use." Meeka called out a short command that sounded more like a cheer, and suddenly Teddiursa dodged into action.

She dodged under Meeka's legs, and bolted towards Trapinch. Before Trapinch could react in the right direction, Teddiursa disappeared behind Trapinch and attacked with sheathed paws. Two soft pets met Trapinch with surprise, but could never have missed.

"Feint Attack." Meeka met Jayden's gaze with confidence. "It catches the opponent unaware, and never misses."

68720_trainercard-Meeka.png

Waiting to see what Meeka said, Jayden watched intently. Tridon and Jayden continued to exchange glances as Meeka put away her mini pokedex and then spun her Teddiursa around. Jayden watched in astonishment as the bear flitted from here to there to behind Tridon and she was about to warn him when really all Teddiursa did was pet him. Tridon just stared at 'Little One' in astonishment, eyes wide and jaw about on the floor.

"Wow." Jayden said and Trapinch's expression mimicked the word. "Your Teddiursa is phenomenal! Alright Tridon, are you ready to learn that?!"

Tridon chirped in absolute excitement, bouncing around for a moment.

A yawn hit both at almost the same time, however, and Jayden shook her head to try and push away the sleepiness. "Do you think we can learn this stuff tomorrow? I mean if tonights a one time deal then we want to learn but... it's been a long day." Jayden said, all the energy swept out of her and Trapinch almost simultaneously. "Would you mind if we got some sleep?" Jayden didn't really wait for an answer as she began to bed down for the night and Trapinch came up to curl up against her. She really never kept Tridon in his pokeball.

(OOC: Sorry, but I've got to hit the hay. Early day tomorrow and fun stuff like that :P G'night :) )

Meeka nodded as the two laid down under the gazebo. She found a fallen log and dragged it near the fire that she kept kindled for the night. Since Wind had her bedroll she would just have to stay close to the flames. She had already vowed to stay awake and keep watch for her new-found friends and that's exactly what she planned on doing. Teddiursa curled up next to her, her paws wrapping partially around her waist, and head resting in her lap before dozing off. Even Emolga has dozed off soundly.

Meeka just stared into the flames intently, sure she would get some sleep later if needed.

68720_trainercard-Meeka.png

"Rooke left a couple weeks ago. He received his starter from the Professor and headed off on his journey." Rooke's mother stated as she stared at the young girl who had barged her way into their home. "Your Eevee is quite energetic." She says as the small Pokemon followed the Eeveelutions around the room.

"Any idea where he'd be?" Jessica asks as she chases her Pokemon around the house. "Eevee, slow down. Don't do that. Eevee come back." She ran about, following the three Pokemon.

"Luna, Helios, come here." Rooke's father orders and the Pokemon obey, Eevee following closely behind. Jessica scoops up her Pokemon and looks at the Hawkins expectantly. "We have no clue. He hasn't called yet. And we aren't worried since he can take care of himself."

Wind moaned as he lay unconscious in the tent. He came to consciousness, but didn't open his eyes. As he lay, he felt Houndour laying beside him breathing heavily as it slept. He was in more of a daze than anything. The sounds of his sleeping friends drifted into the tent, and he wondered how much trouble he had really been. He noticed that his leg was no longer wet, but felt bandaged and splinted. ((Is that the word? Splinted?))

He opened his eyes as he heard a rustling outside. Pushing himself up, he leaned on his arms, yawning. Rolling over, he crawled out of the tent and pushed himself up on one leg, allowing his splinted leg to get beneath him without bending. He stretched his arms and limped over to the fire. Looking over at his sleeping friends, he couldn't help but feel incredibly guilty for making them do all this for him. As he looked around, he suddenly saw a rock, covered in blood. Limping over to it, it didn't take long for him to see it must've been his own blood.

Well that explains why my leg broke so easily.

Yawning into his hand, he looked guiltily at his friends again. He felt so useless. He may be three years younger than Jayden and two years younger than Meeka, but that was no reason to be so weak.

Suddenly, a blast of freezing air sent him flying across the claring, and straight into a tree. A figure slid out of the bushes, it was surrounded by white smoke, so Wind could barely make out it's details. All he could see was that it was floating a few feet of the ground, and had seemingly no legs.

"No, not this time!" Houndour jumped in front of him, ready for combat.

"Flame charge!" As the pup was enveloped with flames, he sent out Gastly, who surprisingly was also ready for combat.

"Shadow ball!" The pokemon killed the light around it, creating a projectile that it threw at it's newfound opponenet.

Meeka jolted up as Wind was slammed against a tree past her. She had dozed off almost by day break and chided herself for being so careless. She looked around, slightly dazed, to examine the situation. To her right lay Teddiursa, who was sleeping soundly as if unaware that a Trainer had been tossed across the clearing. Emolga had been put away in the middle of the night to keep her safe. The fire flickered unharmed in the center of the camp, and across it lay Jayden, who had not yet stirred from her sleep.

"Wind!" She exclaimed as her eyes finally met his. In her attempt to understand the situation she neglected to find out why he had been pushed away from his bedding. She scrambled over to him in confusion.

"What are you doing up? Are..." she paused, noticing that his injured leg did not seem to have been used or bent. A question as to how he might have gotten over this way so quickly flashed through her mind. "...Are you okay? Why are you way over here?" She pointed at his bedding a good 50 feet away and back to where he was down.

She heard Houdour and Gastly sudden burst into action, and turned to watch them fight a mysterious shadow. She looked back to Wind as if expecting him to explain what the figure was. Her eyes were wide.

After passing through the first route, I reached Cherrygrove City. That is where I learned that Team Rocket had their HQ in the Johto region.

“Zorua, don’t you wish we were with Team Plasma at a time like this?”

"Yeah, and your uncle would demolish Team Rocket!" Zorua stated confidently. "After all, Ghetsis is the leader."

“If Team Rocket could get through us, I’m sure Ghetsis’s Hydreigon would knock some sense into them!”

I moved on to the next route (Johto’s routes are numbered in a way that I can’t memorize easily), and I trained my newly-caught Zubat. I also ran into a few trainers, but they were no problem for Zorua.

“Now I wonder if the Violet City gym leader is willing to battle.”

It was nighttime, so I found a small, quiet cave and curled up, illusions canceled. Zorua slept soundly in my mane, and soon enough, so did I.
