"Yeah, seriously." Jace promised. H didn't really use it, anyway. That guitar was mostly just there for show. But the way Nova's face had lit up as if she were in the presence of some relic had sealed the deal for Jace -- he might not have known her very well, but he could tell that she would take care of it. Plus, he would be encouraging someone's love for music, and that was Jace's biggest deal. He lived to see that kind of smile on other's faces, and to teach them how to play. A love for music was something his mother had taught him, and he'd picked up on the different instruments with ease, so it felt only right to pass on the skill.

Jace laughed as she got ready to ready. "Please. Trust me no judgement." He said as he situated himself against the desk, listening as she started to play. Being a bit a fan of Ed Sheeran, he quickly recognized the song and watched as Nova's fingers played against the strings. Despite how she seemed to talk down her skill and say she was rusty, Jace was impressed. She was still good, even if she missed a couple of notes here and there. "Do you sing?" He questioned when she was finished.

"Sorry. I know that might be kind of weird." He said, blushing a bit in embarrassment. Jace tended to be red and blushing about ninety percent of the time, it seemed. "You just said that humming helps you keep up. I, uh, I sing. Even if it's just mumbling to myself, saying the words helps me stay on beat." He also tended to tap his foot, but that was unimportant. "But it was good. Like, really good. I'm impressed."

Ash glanced up from the ground to look at Raven, and she couldn't help but smile. Maybe she had misjudged this girl before -- she was actually nice, and kind of sweet. "Thanks," she replied, and listened as Kanen explained what had happened. Throwing Mason? She knew that the two had hated each other, but this was a bit of a stretch.

"I'm going to head home." She told Kanen and started to back away. Trying to bring him home for a place to stay no longer felt like something she needed to have on her agenda. Ash was, well, tired, and she didn't have the energy to try and convince him that he wouldn't be a burden. "Think about what I said. Text me if you change your mind." She added. At least then, she had suggested it, and was leaving the offer open. Ash knew he wouldn't take her up on it, though.

"Bye, Raven. Good luck on your article." She said, waving good bye to the girl before hesitating when her eyes settled on Ryan. "See ya later, Ryan." Her voice didn't exactly portray any emotion, but it wasn't hard to tell that Ash wasn't sure how to even react to Ryan at this point. Grace was probably right, and Ash knew that she would need to forgive her. After all, Grace was her best friend and had been for years -- Grace would never lie to her.

With that, Ash turned and walked away from the group, taking out her phone while she started home to check Twitter.

Stu squinted as the bright hallway light spilled into the room. Drake was one of his first friends at school. Actually, his very first. It was Drake who helped him find his way around Westbrook and showed him to his classes. When they met in Principal Nona’s office, Stu had assumed that Drake was one of the ‘cool kids’, and that was how he felt about him until the football tryouts. That was when Stu had a sour encounter with Drake’s brother, Mason, and Drake never took any of it seriously and Stu stormed off telling him they weren’t friends anymore. And at the time he meant every word he said.

He never expected Drake to visit him. Nor did he expect to hear from Drake that Kanen, his favourite bartender, had ‘destroyed’ Mason on the football pitch -- whatever that meant. On any day of the week, that news ought to have sent Stu beaming off to cloud nine. Mason had humiliated him on the field in front of the whole school and deserved everything Kanen did to him. He bet it must have been quite the spectacle. It was tempting but Stu couldn’t bring himself to revel in Mason's misery. The injury must have been quite serious if he had ended up in hospital. Sure it could have just been bad karma, but that guy was hurting all the same.

So Stu asked Drake, with a concerned look: 'Is your brother OK?'

The boy tried sitting up to be at eye level with his ‘non-friend’, Drake. As he was attempting this difficult feat of pushing his back up against the metal headboard, he accidentally tugged on the intravenous tube at the point where it fed into the back of his hand, causing him to wince in pain. Then he writhed like a worm in the stiff bed, trying in vain to find a comfortable position. But the boy was sweating and itching so much that the only way he was ever going to be comfortable was if he left this stupid hospital and went home, and then ate a yoghurt.

Now Stu was sat up to examine Drake with his own blue eyes. Not even the darkness could conceal Drake’s filthy looks from him, and Stu’s nose twitched at the unpleasant smell in the air. He sort of wished that Drake had taken a shower before he paid him the visit.

‘I hate it here,’ he appealed to the older boy, ‘There’s nothing to do and I can’t leave and there’s no Wifi and I can’t scratch my back and it sucks. I just want to go home but they said I can't. Not for a couple of days, anyway.’

Valls continued to struggle to transition to life in the states; his notion of what life here would be like, built by the films he had grown up watching, had been shattered by reality. The past week had seen him engulfed by more loneliness and gloom than he had experienced his entire life. As he continued to think, with music blaring in his ears through a pair of headphones, he begun to break down into tears on his desk.

He quickly stopped his sobbing as he heard the door to his room creak open, wiping the tears off his face with his sweater's sleeve. "Valls?", inquired a voice that could only belong to his mother, Vivian Rousseau. He took in a deep breath to calm himself before answering, "Ouais maman?". His mother then asked, "Are you crying?" Although he was sure that his mother already knew the answer to her question, he instinctively lied,"Non". She let out a faint sigh before beginning to close the door again, reminding her son, "Okay, t'aime". He replied with a murmured, "T'aime aussi" before she left.

Valls subsequently stood up and walked to the other side of his room to lock his door, he would rather weep for a millennia than speak to his parents.

Drake hadn't really expected Stu to ask about his brother. He shrugged at the question. "Physically, yeah. Like, he'll recover. Emotionally..." He hesitated, running a hand through his hair. Drake had listened to his brother rant enough to know that this was going to affect every plan he had to get out of the slummy part of Westbrook that they lived in. "Well, he won't be able to play football for the rest of the year, so he'll lose football captain. And like, that was his only way to get a scholarship and get into college, so..." Drake shrugged. "He'll be pretty hurt for a while, but yeah, he'll be fine."

When Stu started getting all antsy, Drake sat forward, eyeing the IV suspiciously. "Be careful. You do not want that thing coming out. Trust me." He leaned back once he decided the IV would stay in one spot and looked away from that to look at Stu. "Eh, you'll be fine. I love the hospital. Good food, TV with all the good channels, people waiting on you..." he sighed dreamily. "Anyway, I know it sucks, but it's just a couple more days, and then you can go home. I'll see if I can get some other classmates to come and we can visit you after school. Just to keep you company and give you something to look forward to, okay?"

"Anyway, are you okay? I only heard a little bit about what happened with you." Because he'd hid away from the world under his blankets, so he'd only heard it in passing when Mason had mentioned it to him. Drake had barely heard him, and he really hadn't cared until he'd come to the hospital. Two birds, one stone, he guessed. "Like, when will you be sent home?"

Ryder

Practice had been...interesting to say the least. The twins had missed the first week of school because they had been visiting their father in New York, after his parents' divorce he had moved to the city for a work transfer and the twins had spent most of the summer with their father every year since. Ryder had assumed they wouldn't miss much besides a new kid or two. Apparently he had been wrong, very wrong. He'd only been back at school for a day and Mason was already in the hospital, but then again Westbrook wasn't exactly a typical high school.

The twins had only transferred to Westbrook last year and there had been enough drama to last him through the rest of high school, though he figured that wouldn't stop anytime soon. In the locker room it seemed like everyone was picking a side; Mason or Kanen. Personally, Ryder didn't have a problem with either of them, though he knew Mason could be a bit difficult sometimes. Students here loved to feed on the unfortunate events of others, he was sure the minute he checked Twitter there would be a whole novel worth of commentary on the situation.

Usually, Alaska would wait for him to be done with practice and the twins would drive home together, but after spending almost two months with just his father and sister he wanted as much space from his family as possible, so Alaska had taken their car back home after Ryder has assured her he could walk. Running a hand through his messy hair, he exited the locker room and noticed Kenan being interviewed by the only kid who seemed to get into more fights than the rest of the school combined.

"See ya tomorrow.' He acknowledged with a wave before starting his long walk home. Ryder knew the rest of the football team well enough, but he wouldn't particularly call any of them friends. The twins were pretty well known by their fellow classmates, mostly because Ryder had a one-night stand with a cheerleader last year who had started a non-sense rumor about him after he blew her off, and then Alaska had punched her in the face in front of the whole cafeteria. So to say they didn't have many friends was an understatement, but that wasn't something either of them really cared about.

Ash on her walk home glanced up once or twice from her phone to avoid tripping over things and walking in front of cars. At first, she saw the guy also walking home and just thought that he was some new hot kid. But after another glance... oh yes, she definitely recognized that boy from the drama that had gone down last year with one of the fellow cheerleaders. In Ash's opinion, one night stands shouldn't turn into something, especially not something that the entire cheerleading squad hears about it. On a nearly daily basis. For nearly a week, until the small man of the hour's sister came and defended him.

Her original plan to talk to no one else, go home, crawl under blankets and watch reruns of drama shows while eating chocolate ice cream in her bed was suddenly forgotten. Ash had thought that what's-his-face and his sister had left the school from embarrassment since she hadn't seen them last week, but it looked as if that wasn't what had happened.

"Hey." She called and trotted to catch up to him, falling into step beside him. "You're Minuteman, right? Or Noah? Isn't that your real name?" Well, Ash was pretty sure that's what he'd been called, but she couldn't really remember. What? Ash hadn't been totally aware of what had been happening with the whole rumor thing, but she did remember the showdown with the kid's sister. The cheerleaders' lunch table was obviously never safe from the drama.

"Sorry. I won't mention it again." Okay, so Ash may have slightly regretted what she had said, but oh well. It was out there. She quietly debated on whether or not to let the fellow cheer squad know, but quickly decided against it. The last thing Ash wanted was a repeat of the drama from last year, and she doubted this kid wanted to relive that.

‘That really sucks,’ Stu said, ‘I know he needed it to get his scholarship and all. . . That’s what he told me.’ And that was why Stu never put up a fight. ‘Kanen must’ve done a number on him, didn’t he?’ He fiddled with tape around the IV a bit to get it to stay in place. ‘The telly isn’t working. . . Dad told them yesterday and they still haven’t fixed it. And I’m only on soft foods at the moment. You know they make the worst carrot soup in the world. It’s not even orange!’ he added.

At some point Stu stopped complaining. He reached for Dad’s computer and pulled it over his lap. ‘Could you find a socket? I think there’s one by the couch somewhere. The cable’s in my Dad’s bag, over there.’ He pointed at the leather briefcase which was propped up against the wall, but he used the wrong arm and the IV threatened to come off again.

Stu shrugged. What Drake heard about him couldn’t have been flattering. He was drunk out of his mind and had no memory of the events leading up to his loss of consciousness. ‘It was kind of scary, I guess,’ he said, ‘It really hurt but they gave me lots of medicine and I sort of passed out. I don’t know when they’ll let me go home. Cor, I hope it’s soon. I don’t like it here. They said they needed to monitor me some more. . . but no one comes in here anymore. Not even the nurses.’ Not even Rose.

Stu was probably talking a little too much, but that was because he hadn’t really talked to anyone all day. Then he scratched his ears, and asked of Drake a reluctant favour: ‘Um, could you. . . Could you maybe walk me to the loo? Please?’

Raven nodded satisfied with the answers. “All done.” Giving a thumbs up. Her attention turned to Ash as she got up, saying her goodbyes. Raven grinned, “Thank you, Ash. Although i don’t think luck is needed.” She told her, giving her a salute as she walked away. This interview made her day, and well..her story. Good on Ryan for the idea. Giving a final nod to Kanen for a goodbye she walked away, “I..should probably head home too.” She said, wincing as she looked at the time on her phone. “Well, we got our story. I’ll write, you edit. Yeah?” She didn’t wait for a reply as she continued.

She nudged Ryan with her elbow, “We make a good team, helmet. Maybe your name will end up in the paper after all..” she said teasingly, she scribbled her number down, tearing a piece of paper off the notepad, and handing it to him. Giving him a wink. And she walked her way home.

Pulling out her phone, scrolling through social media. She made a flirty reply, with a grin on her face, however that only seemed to get her an insult back. Her grin faltered. Raven flirted with everyone, sure. That was just apart of who she was. But that didn’t mean she brought half the school home or vice versa. She wasn’t promiscuous.. But if Kanen had thought so who cared? Not her. at least It’s what she told herself, the truth was she did. It bothered her. Not that she’d ever admit that to anyone. And frankly, It pissed her off. Why believe rumors if there’s so many versions of the truth? Spitting out a few replies, ending that first-class jackass In the matter of minutes. She was satisfied. She smirked putting her phone away.

She finally made it home, looking at the old house a few seconds, it was run-down. But it was home. Walking onto her porch unlocking the door and walking in, “Abuela? I’m home.” She announced herself. Hearing no reply she sighed, “Nancy?” She said, taking off her jacket and hanging it up on the coat-rack. The nurse made her way through the kitchen and smiled. “Hey, Raven. How was school?” She tilited her head towards the living room. Indicating that’s where her Grandmother was, Raven smiled gratefully. “It was fine. ..I know you had errands or whatever today...I’m sorry for making you stay late, i had a thing for the paper i needed to-“ Nancy cut her off.

“It isn’t a big deal, I’m happy to do it.” The nurse said, brushing a few curls out of her face. Then patting Raven on the shoulder. “But i should get going..” Raven nodded understandably. And gave her a smile, tilting her head towards the door. “Have a good night, Nancy.” She told her. Without Nancy, Raven wasn’t sure how’d she would function. She helped a lot. Her Grandmother had gotten sick a few years back, it was simple enough to get a nurse. She had to pretend to be her mother on the phone, lord knows where she even is. But besides that..it worked. Nancy didn’t rat her out, she was a good person.

Locking the front door behind her she made her way to the bathroom, wiping off her makeup and putting her hair up. It was easier this way, less makeup made her look younger. Sometimes it helped her remember. She walked into living room, taking a seat next to her Grandmother, who didn’t glance over to Raven until a full minute. “Andrea, where have you been? It’s so late..” Raven shook her head, and leaned a bit closer. “No, Abuela. It’s Raven.” She took a deep breath, exhaling in disappointment. As the woman just turned back to her television. Ignoring her completely.

Getting her laptop from the other room, she began to write the article. Sitting near her grandma. Her spat with Kanen on twitter wasn’t going to make her write the article any less different then she would’ve without it, Raven didn’t operate that way. Whatever feuds she had with someone shouldn’t interfere with her writing, that was the way she saw it. She yawned tiredly as she got to work.

"Yeah. Tossed him and another player stepped on his leg. I didn't see it, but I'm pretty sure it's sticking out a bit." Drake knew this ruined anything that Mason had hoped for in life, and he felt for his brother. Kind of. And part of him hated Kanen for the entire situation, although he'd never let on his annoyance. Drake was good about swallowing everything he really felt and trying to just be as positive as possible.

"Yeah, not a problem." Drake said. He started rummaging through the bag but thanks to the dark room, he instead knocked over the bag. Some notes fell out, along with the charging cable. Drake started picking them up, and his eyes roamed over the notes. "I didn't know your dad was some kind of teacher. Or professor?" He questioned as he started putting the notes back.

Drake stood up, grabbing the cable as he did so. He walked over to the couch and started looking for an outlet. Finally finding one, he plugged it in and pulled the cable all the way over to Stu, where he triumphantly passed over the end so that the kid could plug in his laptop.

"Sure." Drake said. Hey, he'd been in the same situation... kind of and had needed help making it to the bathroom. Who was he to say no? "Just uh... well, I got you." He promised as he walked over to the side of the bed, holding a hand out to help Stu up while his other hand grabbed the fancy IV holder.

Ryder

Minuteman. Ryder hadn't heard that awful nickname in months. It had followed the vicious rumor Lexi had started about him last spring and the rest of their sophomore class had taken up the nickname almost immediately. He'd been so mad the first time he heard it he'd slammed a fellow football player into the lockers, though that hadn't done anything but encourage the rumors. They'd only really stopped once his little sister had made a huge scene of putting the cheerleader back in her place. Alaska could be annoying as hell, but she was a good sister after all.

"It's Ryder." He gritted out, turning to glare at the little blonde walking beside him, recognizing her as one of the cheerleader's. It was a pretty bold statement coming from someone who barely reached his elbow. "What do you want?" The football player had thought the whole thing would've been forgotten by now, someone had been practically annihilated at practice and somehow this was still going to be brought up?

Ash hadn't entirely meant to offend him... okay, so maybe she had, but either way, she decided to drop the subject. "Nothing. Just thought you and your sister had switched schools since you weren't here the first week." Maybe it was a little weird to even notice something like that but hey, Ash liked to keep tabs on what was going on.

"And, uh, this is the last I'll mention about the whole thing, but Lexi actually left school." She shrugged. "So you should be good with no one bringing it up. Good news, right?" Ash hadn't really missed her much. The only person she was super close to on the team was Grace and... well, that was up in the air right now.

Ryder
Ryder was a bit surprised that the cheerleader (Ashley maybe?), had even noticed their absence, it seemed like no one else had. It was a little offensive that she thought they would entirely switch schools due to a little drama, but perhaps others would have. The Vaughn's simply weren't those people. It had been a major inconvenience, but nothing too bad that he couldn't recover. Lexi hadn't even been worth the whole ordeal, had he known it was going to blow up on him like that he would've never acknowledged her existence in the first place.

It was a relief to hear that Lexi had in fact switched schools, made his life much easier. "Good... I don't know how you dealt with her". He remarked, softening his harsh expression as he turned to look back at the smaller girl. She was quite pretty with her wavy blonde hair and bright eyes, she was definitely someone he would've noticed last year if he hadn't been so distracted by hating the whole cheer team for ruining his reputation.

Drake had managed to clean himself up and come to school. It was rough, and he wanted to go home before he'd even made it to the school. But he had to go for Mason. It was his first day back to school, and he was mad and couldn't care any of his stuff thanks to the crutches he was forced to use. Mason had been stretched out since Monday after getting the bills, and the surgery, and everything else.

Mason crutched his way into the school, obviously irritated as he made his way to his locker. The walk to school had been hell because of the crutches, and he was hot and sweaty and felt horrible and tired and he hated his life. He decided he should've just quit school and dropped out like he had originally planned, and maybe he still would.

Mason leaned his crutches against the locker next to his, and perched himself up with one hand on the other locker while he put in his combination. After he was done, he gestured to Drake. "Backpack." He ordered.

Drake rolled his eyes and held out his backpack, now emptied of his belongings. Mason started putting his books in it, then shouldered the backpack. "I'll see you later." Mason grumbled, not looking at his little brother as he spoke.

"Okay, okay. See ya later." Drake said and walked away with his books under one arm. In the other hand, he held a pill bottle. He looked down at it, quietly considering taking the pills before he shook his head and shoved them in his pocket. Maybe later.

June
It was almost an understatement to say she was screaming internally. It had been a while since she lost her camera and hadn’t told anyone since she didn’t want to bother people. Therefore, she searched silently. Not to mention what happened on Monday still fresh in her mind. She had talked to her mother, trying to figure out how to help Mason with the pay. But that was still a work in progress for now.

She yawned into her hand as she pushed the doors open and entered the hallway. She shuffled through and looked through her book. She sighed as another thought emerged. Sawyer. That thing is today isn’t it? She also had to keep up with her blog. Doing a daily blog was hardly easy, and now she felt less motivation to do it when she couldn’t find her camera. As she walked, she looked at the newspaper that came out. Seeing her own pictures she felt upset she wasn’t the one who was able to really claim them. But everyone loved the article so she kept her lips sealed and went with the praise. Not to mention, she was shocked to see Ryan had joined newspaper and helped to write the article. She crumpled up the paper and placed it in her bag once more.

Yup, screaming internally was an understatement.

Sawyer
So not everything on Monday had gone exactly to plan. They'd ended up having to reschedule Sawyer's plan to Wednesday due to June not being able to get her father and Grace's mother out of the house until that night. On the upside it had given her more time to practice what she wanted to do, and lord knows Ryan needed to fine tune his guitar skills, but she was ready.

All that was left was for her to anxiously wait out the rest of the day until that night. Great. Now she had time to think about the possible outcomes of the night and she did not want her mind going anywhere close to any of those places. She needed a distraction. Ryan had joined the newspaper on Monday for some reason and Sawyer decided that would be her distraction.

There'd been some story about Kanen and Mason and Sawyer couldn't have cared less about the event itself but she could bug Ryan about it. Deciding on this fact she leaned against her car in waiting for Ryan. Annoying questions about his newspaper motives already formulating in her head as she did so.

Raven practically pushed students to the side, speed-walking through the halls. She was a little late to school. So she didn’t know how everyone reacted to the paper being released today. It took some time trying to convince the school to let her release it, but seeing how she didn’t write anything about ‘being terribly unsupervised’ or ‘letting someone on the team that was previously arrested’ she convinced them it should be just fine.

Her eyes landed as she caught someone reading it, she grabbed it from the boy’s hands. “Sorry not sorry, Adam.” And flipped through the pages. Everything printed correctly, word for word. She couldn’t stop the smile that crept up her face at the sight of it. “Did you like it?” She asked rather aggressively. Alex flinched as he said nothing.

She snapped her fingers near his face. “Adam, i don’t have all day, it’s a yes or no question.” She told him. His blue eyes darting around the school, finally. He spoke. “I-it’s Alex, and y-yes i liked it. I heard everyone else did too.” That was all she needed, she smiled proudly. “Of course they did. Who wouldn’t?” She said walking away from him, with the newspaper still in her hands. Her first issue was a hit. Raven hasn’t felt this accomplished in forever.

A few minutes went by as she walked up to some of her classmates, just saying ‘Hello’ which was a total lie, she just wanted the appreciation she deserved from it. And of course, she got it. She was in the middle of talking with someone, accepting the praise with a smile on her face, when she caught eye of a certain red-head. She muttered a goodbye, or maybe she didn’t. She doesn’t know, Raven was focused on chatting with the girl a few steps away from her.

“Hey! Mary-Jane!” She caught up to her, putting her hand on her arm gently, to get her attention. She lifted the newspaper in her hands to cover half her face, only revealing her eyes. Squinting them, watching her face for a reaction. “Did you see it?” She asked with a smile that couldn’t be seen.

She was tapping her book again as she made her way to the newspaper room. As she entered, she started to head to her computer until, once more she was stopped by someone. She flinched immediately and pulled her arm away until she saw it was just Raven.

She didn’t want to see her. Unless she wanted to spill the truth. Which she almost did as Raven raised the paper to her face. “Oh. The paper. Yeah I thought it was good.” She gently moved past her and placed her things in her seat, turning to look back at Raven. “Although, can I ask what you did to my camera? I can tell you used the photos, yeah...” She said looking down at her backpack which no longer held her camera.

Grace was at her locker, reading the school’s paper. She shook her head in disappointment, Kanen had just got out of trouble, Her mother told her she had to ‘grease’ some palms or whatever she said. Why start more trouble when you so narrowly avoided it? Opening her locker and setting the paper aside, she took out her books. She got an alert on her phone she picked it up to read, attempting to balance the books in one hand. It was just a tweet from Alex, he was complaining that someone took his paper.

She didn’t pay attention to that tweet, but to the one below it. She didn’t respond to Ash’s tweet. Grace hated that people tried to solve their problems on social media, granted that she threw shade at Sawyer a few days back. But she preferred to fix relationships In-person. It also didn’t help that Ryan acknowledged the rumor online. She sighed shutting her phone down, after pocketing it, the books fell to the floor with a loud thud, she sighed heavily as she bent down to pick them up.

Raven pulled the paper away from her face, “Sorry.” She apologized for startling her. Raven lit up once June said she liked it. Giving her a genuine smile. “I’m glad you liked it.“ She turned her body slightly so June can get through easier.

She furrowed her brows. “Your friend Georgia, literally wouldn’t leave me alone. She said she’d return it to you.. She didn’t?” She shrugged. “I’m sorry, i didn’t think it was a big deal. She’s mentioned you before..i think. I try desperately not to listen when she speaks.” When June spoke about the photos. She placed the paper on the desk and pointed to June’s name. “Who couldn’t tell? It has talent written all over them. And i gave you credit for them, I couldn’t of done it without you.” It could’ve been just a small way to flirt with her, but it really wasn’t. Raven wouldn’t of gotten the story. Well she would’ve, just without the pictures. But the pictures are what made it great.

“Right! that reminds me..” She trailed off, pulling the backpack off her bag and digging through it for a second. She reached for June’s hand placing the memory card in her hand, She realized something and pulled away. Raven didn’t want to be too forward with her flirting, afraid that she might scare her away. She looked like the type that scared easily. “I’ve seen other pictures of yours too, you’re really good at what you do.” She admitted.

Ryan had shuffled out of the house. It was to early for everything. Couldn't he sleep like 8 more hours. That's it. That's all he wanted. Nothing was better then anything in the world. He shuffled over to Sawyers car and slowly hopped in. "Mhornhing." He said through a yawn. He had stayed up late working on an article for the paper. It was going to be his pet project. It wasn't ready, hell it wasn't even close to ready. Whenhe submitted the first version of his article, it was sent back again and again and again. It took about 5 revisions till it was barely acceptable for it to be put into the paper. If Ryan could say one thing about Raven, when it came to the paper, she took it seriously.

Ryan had a deadpan expresion on his face. He had some bags under his eyes. His actual eyes were red and a bit puffy to. "Do I really have to go to school mom?" He asked Sawyer. He rested his head back and slowly started to nod off. "I need like a red bull and two shots of exspresso..." He said with his eyes closed. He didn't want to go to school.

Ash had planned on going to see Grace and setting things right. She couldn't keep going to cheerleading practice with the awkward tension between them, and she couldn't keep going through her day with barely any other friends. So when she saw Grace stooped over to pick up the books she dropped, she knew now would be the chance to swoop in and make things right.

She didn't say anything as she stooped down and picked up a couple books, passing them to Grace. "Hey, I'm... sorry, for not believing you on Monday." Ash explained. "I shouldn't have believed what I saw. I mean, it looked pretty obvious, but... I should've believed you. You know?" Ash sighed. This was hard. "Can you forgive me?"

Nova Abrisst
Nova had been reeling since she had departed from the mansion that Jace called a home. He had been so kind, and seemed actually interested in her, which was always nice. But more than that, he just seemed comfortable to be around, despite their mutual awkwardness. The brunette had ended up staying rather late in the afternoon, the two talking about music and singing, Nova making a promise that she would sing for Jace when she felt more practiced in her guitar playing. Which may have been why she went home that night, Taylor guitar in tow, and practiced into the early hours of the morning.

Wednesday morning came in a blink, Nova feeling well on her way to be settled in her new school. She didn't really feel like the new girl, and maybe that had to do with the people. Most were either incredibly welcoming or just didn't care, and she was fine with either. Her classes were treating her decently, though she was almost sure she would need to get a tutor for chem and bio. Nonetheless, she was settling, and that was the most important thing. Taking a deep breath at he locker, Nova began packing her backpack with what she would need for the day, making sure to shove an Arizona tea and a baggie full of carrots in before slamming her locker shut, grabbing the guitar case off of the floor beside her and heading to the music room. She had stowed away there yesterday to no avail of seeing Jace, and in fear of seeming clingy hadn't texted him. Just do it pussy, Nova snarled at herself, pushing through the music room door and shutting it behind her, setting her stuff down and situating herself to sit on the table, pulling out the guitar and grabbing her phone. Taking a breath, she quickly typed out and sent a message before practicing playing "Gotta Be A Reason" by Alec Benjamin, singing quietly but enough to get her range in, just happy to be strumming again.

Thank you again for the other day, and for letting me borrow the Taylor :) We should maybe hang if you're ever free

June
She frowned a little when she said she handed it to Georgia. She glanced over to the empty seat next to her. Well she hasn’t been at school for a bit. But at least it was located and that was better than it being lost. She moved a little to the side when Raven slammer the paper down and tapped her name. June smiled meekly, trying not to let her true feelings out. “Yeah...thank you for acknowledging me. You did a great job putting them to use.” She said. Then paused when Raven pulled out her memory card. Genuine relief showered June’s face as she quickly grabbed the card and held it in her hands. Her photos were okay at least. Yes, this was very good news. She wouldn’t have known what to do if they were stolen, sending her work to nearly the void. However, she did visibly wince as Raven complemented her on her other pictures. Gotta be kidding me. She saw my pictures? She blushed as she opened her bag and placed the card into her case. “Oh uh, thanks. Although, I don’t really like sharing all my pictures...” She mumbled before zipping up her bag again.

Grace

Grace glanced up at Ash, unsure of what to say. And turned her gaze back to the books, She felt a bit guilty. She should've just texted her. She took the books from Ash, Grace spoke right when she did, "Look, i-" she cut herself off, waiting for her to continue. She sighed in relief, "No, i get it. I know how it seemed." She looked around awkwardly, unsure of what to say when she asked for forgiveness. Obviously she forgave her. She was her best friend, she put the books off to the side. And wrapped her into a tight hug. "Can we like, not do that again?" She sighed in relief. "Boys are so uninteresting to fight about." She waited a moment before pulling away.

She smiled at her. "Thank you for believing me, i'm not sure what i would've done if we weren't friends anymore."

Jace had headed towards his locker first to drop off his backpack and get his books for the first few hours of classes. The last couple days had been fairly dreary, with Jace just chilling at home practicing music... which wasn't too abnormal. Of course, last night Ash had finally talked to him, so there was always that. In a way, it felt like the effects of the party were finally falling away, and everyone seemed to be recovering from the whole incident. It was nice to no longer feel so distant from his sister.

So, in a good mood, Jace was on his way to the music room when he got a text from Nova. He smiled down at his phone before slipping it back into his pocket. Yes, he'd considered texting her, but it hadn't been some kind of gnawing feeling where he couldn't think about anything else. Jace had simply spent his time playing his instruments, or on his computer practicing some things while he waited. He had decided that maybe today would be the day, or he'd just find her in person. After all, there were no good romance songs about texting the person that you liked. They were all about talking to them in person, and Jace held a lot more weight in someone's spoken words than their written words. Anyway, he figured he'd just text her back after he got to the music room and put his guitar down.

He stepped into the music room and was still for a moment when he saw Nova. Well wasn't this awkwardly perfect. "Oh, uh, hey, Nova." Jace gave an awkward smile (his face muscles simply wouldn't work in any other way for him to have a normal smile) as he walked over towards her, and set his books down on the table, soon followed by his guitar. "Have you been hiding out in here?" He couldn't blame her -- Jace had easily spent 90% of his high school career in this very room. No regrets.

Ash was relieved to hear her say that, and she let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding in. "God, yes. Let's just forget about the whole party." She laughed and hugged Grace back, relief flooding through her to have her friend back. Once she released her, she found herself sighing heavily. "Plus, like, it was over Ryan. He's got a reputation for being a player, right? Like..." Ash shook her head. "I guess if it wasn't you, it would've been someone else eventually, right?" She'd been spending the last few days eating ice cream and convincing herself that there were better fish in the sea. Maybe not at this school, but Ash figured she'd be gone in two years and could find someone better then. Still... a part of her was unable to shake Ryan. Which was annoying -- like really annoying, and Ash wished she could just be done with boys.

"Anyway, of course we'd have to make up eventually. Like, I'm not going through the rest of high school without my best friend." Ash laughed. The weight on her shoulders seemed to lift a bit, and she felt more relaxed now. Making up with Grace had been one thing that she needed to check off on her list, and... well, actually, that was it.
