She chuckled. “I haven’t met someone else with a name almost as long as my actual one.” Her grandmother named her, It was Raven to everyone. But on her birth certificate it was a bunch of hispanic names she didn’t care to be called. When he flirted back it wasn’t a surprise. She smiled and narrowed her eyes at him, but decided to not comment on what his ways were. Maybe next time.

“We’ve got an interesting day.” She grinned, with a tilt of her head she beckoned him closer to her. “I wouldn’t know about the party, i wasn’t there.” She admitted, it wasn’t like she didn’t want to go. She would’ve but she needed to stay home for reasons she didn’t feel like disclosing at the time. “Just rumors. who slept with who. Who got arrested. Rumors are strong, but i don’t like rumors. I like the truth.” She messed with the computer a bit pulling up photos.

“Check these out.” She clicked on some, Some were June’s she skimmed through those. “Uh, not those.” The pictures were nice..but it wasn’t the ones she was looking for. “Ah, here.” She flipped through the ones at football practice.

An amount were just normal photos, and then the few that Raven took, showed Kanen basically just destroying Mason, and then the ambulance that showed up. “Just happened a little while ago. As you can see, a ‘kill drill ’ seems to be exactly what it sounds like.” A small frown set on her face. “Poor boy, must be in a lot of pain.” She shrugged. “Wasn’t an accident, you could tell. Definitely some bad history there.” She shook her head.

“But the history isn’t what we’re going for, maybe an interview here, or there. But might not need it. That’s our scoop.” She said pointing to the photos. “We just have to make sure we write it, print it. And all that’s left is for everyone to love it. But then again, who don’t love drama?” She grinned.

Jace still didn't trust that dog, even if everyone else thought he was just great. Either way, he perked up when Nova asked about the guitar. Best way to get on Jace's good side: show an interest in music. It was his biggest passion, after all, by quite a long shot. "Yeah, that would be fine. I'm not doing anything today, anyway, I don't think." Okay, he knew he wasn't doing anything. His schedule was always blank. But he could try and act cool and say he thought he was free.

"If you want, you can just like... Follow me with your truck. The guitar is at my house. And Sybil, feel free to come, too." Even if it meant bringing that evil monster dog. Yeah, Jace still didn't trust that dog for anything.

"That's nice of you, thanks." Drake said, still with that weak smile. His eyes widened when he realized she didn't know him. "Oh, jeez, sorry. I'm Drake. Mason's little brother." Although she'd probably already figured that one out, even though the brothers didn't look much alike. They had the same dark hair and skin, and... that was it.

"Do you mind if we sit?" Drake asked, and started towards the seats next to his mother, who didn't look too pleased about the two of them coming over. "I'm not feeling the best." He admitted as he sank into the seat next to his mother. His body felt drained, and all he wanted to do was go back to sleep, like he had been for the last few days.

"I'm going outside for a cigarette." Drake's mother said abruptly when they came over and stood up, promptly walking back out of the hospital, and causing Drake to cringe.

"Sorry..." He mumbled, and then looked over at June. "So, uh, how'd you and Mason get so close?"

Ash wasn't sure what she had expected, but she hadn't expected him to be living out of his car. "That's not really a place to stay..." She mumbled while she thought over exactly what her father would say if she showed up with Kanen to stay.... Eh, it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

"Well, come on." Ash sighed and stood up from the bench. "You can come stay at my house. At least for tonight, or until you find somewhere else to stay." She decided without even asking Kanen if he was alright with that. But hey, if she asked him, he'd probably say no and keep sleeping in his car.

She smiled and shook his hand. She hadn’t guessed it was a little brother because they looked similar in age. Turns out she was wrong.

Then when he offered them to sit she nodded. Just from looking at him he looked like he should be admitted to the hospital too. She walked over to the seats and frowned as the mother walked off to smoke. Does she not like me? She thought worriedly, adjusting her clothes slightly before sitting down. She doesn’t look the pleasant. Maybe that’s how she is with everyone. But at least she’s here for Mason and so is Drake. I could just leave.

However she still wasn’t going to move from the waiting room. She turned to Drake when he asked her how they were so close. June blushed a little and waved her hand. “No, no. I just happened to be on the field taking pictures when I saw what happened. I mean, that’s what friends would do.” She said with a small shrug. “We did meet at Ash’s party and talked. Besides that, I’m just someone who wanted to help.” She explained before slumming his shoulders.

“He kept on saying how he didn’t want to come. I just hope he’s okay...”

Sawyer
As much as Sawyer would've liked to just stay holed up in the closet with Grace if she was going to keep kissing her like that, they should probably get out before Alex came in to yell at them. Sawyer reluctantly pulled away from Grace but her hands stayed resting on the sides of her face. With a sigh, she leaned her forehead against Grace's and ran her thumbs over Grace's cheeiks.

"I don't want to leave." She smiled and brushed a lock of blonde hair behind Grace's ear, "But we should probably get out of here before Alex busts in." Despite her words, Sawyer made no move to leave. She stayed rooted in her spot, unwilling to move. From back on the stage Alex yelled at them again.

"Sawyer, Grace! What the hell are you doing in there?!" He screeched. Sawyer laughed and finally pulled away from Grace and dragged her out of the closet behind her by her hand. She grabbed a prop sword off the shelf on her way out and threw it at Alex. It pegged him in the back of the head and her yelped like a dog.

"Awe, did I hurt you? I'm sorry let me help you." She reached out like she was going to give him a pat on the head but instead just flicked the spit she'd hit him at.

"Hey! Ow!" Alex scrambled away from Sawyer and she returned herself to her chair with a laugh.

"Don't yell at me or Grace and I won't throw swords at you thanks."

Ryan looked at the photo. He wasn't the least bit surprised. "I'm not surprised. Kanen is really the only person here that hold a candle to me. Mason must have been talking a lot of smack for Kanen to go that far." He said pulling back. Kanen was strong, and Ryan wouldn't doubt he would have the ability to do so. "Interesting. I could look around. See if I could find anyone who was there on the team that would have no problem talking about it." He said. "I doubt it would be a good idea asking Mason's little brother, but James might know something about it." He said. Ryan and James weren't close friends, but they did know of each other.

"But god damn. Kanen, that was one hit if I can say so." He said looking at the photo again. "Maybe even talk with Kanen about what happened." He said shrugging. He sighed. He was going to have to do some digging, but that would be easy. "So what's the plan of attack? How are we going on about this?" He asked. They needed proof on what happened to make it a juicy article. All they had right now was a photo to go on.

Raven sat and thought for a few seconds, “Smack, maybe..I did hear them yell a bit at each other, i could throw that in for a few quotes.” She bit her lip deep in thought, and when he spoke, she grinned when he told her about interviewing people. “James..okay, gotcha.” She wrote his name down, Ryan talked about the hit. She agreed with a ‘mmhm.’ She raised an eyebrow when he spoke about Kanen.

“Straight to the source..” She smiled and nodded. Tapping the desk, as she did. Raven loved that he just jumped in, actually having worthy ideas.. She shrugged after he did. “We interview, and see what happens from there.” She moved to get up, squeezing through. She was small enough, It was fairly simple. “Let’s go, find us a Kanen, Helmet.”

Looking for Kanen wasn’t very difficult, after searching around school. Ryan spotted him when they made their way outside, he was sitting on a bench, but he wasn’t alone. She made her way to them. “Looks like we got ourselves a cheerleader too.” She said to Ryan, raising her eyebrows. Approaching them as any reporter would. “Kanen Finaco, WestBrook Weekly. Mind if we ask you a few questions?” Taking the pen from her ear.

Eying the blonde cheerleader besides him, she recognized her, she was popular. Simple as that. Raven tried to know whoever she could’ve in school, considering she’d met three new people today. Her plan wasn’t going very well. “Ashton West. You mind any questions?” If you ask her why she used full names, she’d answer with a ‘why not?’ Real journalists would, reporters would. And so forth. Raven was playful and fun, but she loved writing. She took this seriously despite many other people not caring for the school’s newpaper. She wanted this story, and Raven works hard to get what she wants.

Grace

When Sawyer pulled away, Grace smiled at her. “I don’t want to either..” But.. Sawyer had a point, Grace sighed and nodded, she definitely wasn’t interested in Alex busting through the door, being forced out of a literal closet by Alex wasn’t ideal. “I think this belongs to you.” She pulled off the beanie from her head, and placed it back on Sawyer’s. “Every princess needs their own crown.” She said, as she picking up a cheap tiara and placed it on her head. Smiling as she did, She watched as Sawyer grabbed a fake sword. Crap, that’s a good idea. Grace grabbed a small bag filled with unnecessary props. And they made their way out.

Grace quickly realized they were still holding hands, and removed hers from Sawyer’s grip. She mouthed a ‘sorry.’ Sawyer made some jabs at Alex, she chuckled at before she spoke. “Thought it’d um..be a good idea..” she trailed off dropping the bag to the floor. Thank god the director walked in at that moment. “Hey, look the directors here..yay.” She sat down in her seat, and literally face palmed. she’s sure the only one who actually saw it was Sawyer, Everyone else was too busy fawning over the director in that moment.

After her own awkwardness at attempting to keep herself in the figurative closet. Theater seemed to be going well, she was glad that theater and well, Sawyer..were the only two things today that didn’t decide to be terrible.

"I really couldn't. You and your dad have already done so much." Kanen said, rising slowly from the bench. He reached down, scooping up the helmet from the ground, and when he came back up, Ryan and some girl were standing there. Kanen sighed. He could already tell what his was going to be about. All he wanted was to go to sleep, but it looked like he'd have to deal with this first.

"Fiaco. My name is Kanen Fiaco, not Finaco or whatever it is you said.." Frankly, the only reason Kanen didn't just tell the girl to 'fuck off' was because with her. It had nothing to do with being intimidated, Kanen had just found a new respect for the other. In the past week, Ryan had done more than enough for Kanen's view of him to flip around. "Just ask questions quick and make sure you get a decent photo of me in he news paper." He joked, though his tone made it very clear that Kanen didn't want to be here any longer than he absolutely had to.

Nova Abrisst
Nova's smile widened as she nodded, quickly slipping back into her jean jacket and pulling her hair back into a loose ponytail, some hairs falling out to frame her face. "I really appreciate it," She beamed, the sun peaking behind a cloud as if to just compliment the excitement that she was trying to hide. Sybil seemed nice, her dog was cool, and maybe her, Sybil and Jace could be friends... they seemed like a rag-tag group, right? Although it was becoming pretty apparent that the pixie badass had her eye on Jace... so maybe she could be a third wheel friend to them instead. Getting up from her seat in the corner of the truck bed, Nova hopped down and slammed the bed door shut, shaking it a bit to make sure that it wouldn't drop while driving (which had happened more times than she would've like to admit). "And what about you mister?" Nova smiled with a crinkle of her nose as she pushed back her door, Sybil's pup still happily wagging as the brunette motioned for him to exit the car. He was cute, no doubt about it, and maybe the shepherd and Kelbi would get along... although Nova already knew that her lazy pup would most likely just want the hyper boy to lay down with her. "So we're following you?" The hazel eyed girl looked at Jace as she hopped into the driver's seat of her truck, looking almost out of place in the massive vehicle. She glanced down at her phone before plugging it into the AUX, half hoping to see a text from Kanen and doing her best to hide slight disappointment when all she saw was a text from her mother and a few Instagram notifications.

Raven cocked a brow, “Fiaco, got it.” Smiling because he didn’t ignore or push her away. She took the pen from her ear, clicking it a few times before pressing it to her notepad, when he spoke, She grinned at his words. Quick & easy, interesting. “With a face like that? Should be simple enough.” Throwing a wink his way, clearing her throat, turning serious, She started the interview.

“So, Fiaco. Care to tell me a little about what happened today at the field?” She said furrowing her eyebrows in fake confusion. She knew what happened from her point of view, but let’s see what he thought on the matter. Intrigued as she awaited his answer before jumping in, afraid if she took too long with her questions he wouldn’t answer.

“Was that a display of strength? Showing your worth, should you actually get onto the team? Or was it more than that..?” She asked, She thought for a second.

“More importantly..Do you regret it?” Her grin slowly faded as she scanned his face for any sort of answer besides a verbal one.

High5ives High5ives

Kanen shrugged. "I was going to be on that team either way." He stated, tucking his helmet up under his arm. "I threw Mason like that because he deserved it. Why should I go easy on some asshole like that?" He paused as she asked her second question. "I've got nothing to regret. People brake shit in football all the time. If Mason couldn't take a hit, he never should've been captain of the football team. Fuck him."

Kanen didn't like this girls very much so far. He could see her little games. She was trying to pry something out of him, anything that would make a decent story for the school's newspaper. At this point, the only reason people even read them was for the drama. It didn't bother Kanen that she wanted drama, it just irritated him how she wasn't straight up about it. She reminded him of a snake, just waiting for anything the to latch onto. "You got anything else? Ryan?" Kanen questioned, turning his attention to the boy. Kanen would much rather deal with him.

"Damn. I didn't know selfless people existed." Drake admitted. He certainly wasn't the type of person to just jump on an ambulance with any old dude -- particularly not a kid like Mason. "Especially for people like Mason." He shook his head, and rubbed his hands together for a moment, thinking, before he glanced over at June. "Hey, so, I know you're new and all that, but there's a kid here. Neck-Tie, or Stu Spanish. Something like that. I think I'm going to go visit him while we wait. Wanna tag along?"

Without waiting for a reply, Drake stood up, looking at her expectantly. He was fidgety, like normal, but also more subdued. If that was even a thing. His fingers still tapped against his side, but they weren't as fast or obsessive as they usually were. His entire composure was more lazy than normal. "I'm going to go find out where he's at." He said and headed over to a reception desk. After chatting with the receptionist for a few (he managed to make her laugh, which brought a broad smile to his face), Drake stepped away from the counter with a newfound purpose. To find Stu, and to give him a hug. Even if Drake hadn't showered or changed since Friday.

Sybil had decided not to come. Granted, Jace was disappointed, but also relieved since that dog scared him a bit. So instead, he just drove home in Ash's car with Nova following. Once parked in front of the basic mansion that was his home, he hopped out and headed up to the front door with his guitar, unlocking the door and waiting for Nova to follow him. "Luckily, my dad and Ash aren't home yet. And I think all the cleaning staff is done, so we won't have anyone to bother us."

Alright, well, maybe that sounded a little weird since all that would be happening would be Jace lending her a guitar. The end. "I mean, like... not that it would matter if people were here to bother us. It's just, you know, annoying. To have people. To bother you." His face was slowly turning bright red as he tried to explain something that just continued to make less sense. Frustrated, Jace just turned back to try and unlock the door, but now he was nervous and couldn't get the key in the hole.

Marvelous. But despite his issues, he finally did it and managed to open the front door to his house.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Ash was prepared to go on a lengthy lecture to Kanen about how it didn't matter, he would not be spending another night in his car. Then, she was prepared to either let him go to her home nicely, or she would have to use force. But, well, neither of those things happened as two people came up, out of nowhere, for an interview.

She expected as much from Raven. Ash knew her as one of the nosy reporters for the school paper, and she probably wouldn't have been too upset, except that Ryan was there, too. Of course. With another girl. Her shoulders slumped forward and her hands dropped from her backpack straps. The party and the following day were still fresh in Ash's mind, and she couldn't quite get over it. Part of her believed Grace, but part of her was still so unsure.

Her plan had been to tell them no, but Kanen just had to go and agree to an interview. And, sure, Ash could've left so she didn't have to be in the same vicinity as Ryan, who had undoubtedly moved onto trying to get with Raven (not that Ash could blame him -- she was gorgeous), but that would mean losing this fight and letting Kanen sleep in his car. Again. So Ash found herself instead stuck there, listening as Raven started to interview him.

"Please, just Ash." She replied, wincing as Raven called her by her full name. Ashton. What a terrible thing to name a child. "And I don't know what happened at the football field, so I can't help you with your interview. Sorry." She mumbled, and turned her attention down to the ground, where she was suddenly overtly aware of being in her cheerleading uniform. It made her feel even more self-conscious, and now all Ash really wanted to do was go home and hide under a blanket.

At Kanen explaining what had happened at the football field, Ash blinked in surprise and looked from the ground towards him. "Wait, you broke Mason?"

Nova Abrisst
He had to be kidding. Like honest to God, no way, had to be kidding. Nova's house wasn't small, but seriously? Nova did her best to keep her jaw from dropping, looking around at the pristine lawn and the expensive car that was parked in the driveway. She almost felt under dressed... and like maybe she should move her ratty old truck somewhere else. The small brunette hugged her jean jacket close to her body as she followed Jace up the walkway, listening to him talk about cleaning staff (which just baffled her even more). Though she couldn't help but be distracted by the blonde boy's slight rose flush that had appeared on his cheeks, his nervous voice wavering as he attempted to correct himself. Jace was awkward, but in a cute kinda way that made Nova want to just wrap him in a hug and make him cookies. He seemed like the type of guy that had a very soft outlook, and enjoyed his alone time... the opposite of Kanen, who seemed more of the 'touch my girl and you won't have hands' sort of guy. The two were very different, and being in both of their presences in the same day was giving the hazel-eyed girl whiplash.

In an attempt to save him, Nova chuckled and used her shoulder to lightly bump his. "I'm not much of a fan of people either," She grinned before following Jace through the threshold. She had the instant feeling like she should remove her shoes, and anything else that contained dirt as she stepped into the crystal clean household, feeling a little self conscious.

June
June shrugged. “I’ve always been taught to be kind to others. Even to people like Mason, he doesn’t seem bad to me.” She said before hearing Drake wanting to see Neck-Tie. She bit her lip with uncertainty. The last time she saw him was during Truth or Dare. She had heard he wasn’t in good shape, therefore feeling pretty responsible for it. However she didn’t want Mason to be left alone and worried over what Mason’s mother would do.

“Well I should probably wait for Mason.” She explained, but watched Drake as he found the information. And when he was successful, she half smiled, obviously she seemed worried for Stu as well, but she wanted to make sure Mason would be okay.

Stu was bored out of his mind. His Dad had gone home to fetch some clothes, but at least he was thoughtful enough to leave his laptop. Stu was binge-watching some Walking Dead, but the characters had been stuck on a farm for at least 5 episodes and the show bored him to death. And now the battery on the laptop was dying too, and he couldn’t get out of bed to plug it into the socket because of all the tubes he was attached to, and he needed to pee, and all the predicaments were mounting by the minute and he was starting to feel pretty overwhelmed and homesick.

He checked his new watch for the time, and sniffed the leather strap (it smelt really expensive). It was nearly 5 PM and his stomach growled like a starved puppy.

Then he felt a little light-headed and closed the laptop down, and now there were no lights in the room since the blinds were all drawn shut. He thought he’d read his comic but the room was too dark and the light switch was way over by the door and – Christ being in a hospital sucks. Stu slumped his head back into his pillow and sighed and trilled his lips. Gaius Rodius and his brave legionaries would have to wait another while before they could march on Gaul.

Or Stu could have pressed the button and called for a nurse. He found one of the nurses to have been really pretty. She was a pear-shaped brunette named Rose, but she also lived up to her pretty name in that she was terrible with needles and had pricked his arm five times before she could locate a vein. If he called her in he might have risked getting another needle (it was probably worth it). But more importantly the button to call the nurse was red and he didn’t know if he would get in trouble if he pressed it. He was worried an alarm might go off and the whole fire brigade would show up and in the end he chickened out of the project.

Suddenly there was some noise at the door. Stu sat up right away. To be honest, he was just excited at the prospect of a visitor because he had spent the last few days by himself and Dad, and not even his Mum had bothered to come to visit him. He had spoken to her on the phone and she said she was glad he was safe. But he sort of wished he hadn’t been, because then she might have actually bothered to fly over and see him.

It wasn't long after Drake had departed that a nurse came out to update on Mason. "It shouldn't be much longer." She informed June with a bright smile. "We just need to discuss payment and surgery." As she spoke, Mason and Drake's mother came walking back over with an annoyed look on her face. She waited silently until the nurse had finally walked away.

"Absolutely ridiculous." She grumbled as she sat down roughly next to June. Maria Rivera was by no means a happy or sweet woman, and it was hard to tell if she even cared for her sons sometimes. "Who are you, anyway? His new girlfriend or something? I thought he was still dating that bitch Adriane." She shook her head at the thought of her.

Jace was relieved to hear her that, which may have been kind of weird. But hey, it was nice to meet a fellow recluse who hated people. Or disliked. Whatever. "You can just like... leave your shoes there or wear them. Whatever." He explained as he kicked off his own fancy shoes and then started leading her through the house to his room. Amazingly, the house cleaners had made it look as if the Friday night party had never happened.

He lead her down a hallway until they reached the edge of the house, and a single door that led into his room. He opened the door, leaving it for her, and headed over to the couch in his room. "Make yourself at home. I just gotta put away my stuff and then I can help you with that guitar." He explained as he tossed his backpack on the couch, and then took the guitar off his back and carried it over to a stand sitting next to his desk.

Jace's room could easily have been an apartment itself. It was at one end of the house, and had probably been a four seasons room at some point. There were huge windows on all three walls, and he had his desk with computer and laptop facing the back garden (and his petunias). In the middle was a couch facing a TV, and the rest of the space was home to instruments. Guitars hung on the walls, a couple drum sets, a grand piano, keyboard, and even a harp. Jace was obsessive.

And, of course, his bed was on a simple loft that was only accessible by a ladder.

Nova couldn't contain it this time as her jaw fell open, looking around the apartment-sized room that she had just been led to. The huge bay windows let in so much natural light, which was heaven to the brunette. Her hazel eyes widened as she looked around a bit, noting every instrument that made home here, wondering if Jace could play each one (and if he would let her stay to see such a thing). Shoes off and left by the door, Nova removed her jean jacket and tightened her pony tail a bit, allowing it to look just a little messier than before. Her loose olive green tank surrounded her in just a way that made her look as small as she felt in this giant room, but she couldn't care less in the current moment, too memorized by her surroundings. In comparison, her room was tiny, but homey. Maybe half the size of Jace's. "This is... pretty stellar," A small breath left her lips as she said it, the awe on her face unwavering and refusing to hide. "And I love the color." Nova's favorite, a sort of sunflower yellow. Growing up, her mother always told her she looked best in yellow, and from then on she had just gravitated towards it.

Turning to the wall of guitars, Nova glanced over each one before stopping in front of a dark wood acoustic, biting her lip and looking over it's features. "A Taylor huh?" She looked back to him as she said it, letting her fingers trace over the strings. Nova loved the classics, Taylors and Martins to be specific, and this one was no different. It's dark wash looked so striking against the yellow of Jace's walls, begging to be played. She stepped lightly, as if anything else would shatter the room filled with instruments into chaos. Although in general, Nova tended to move quietly, usually afraid of making too much noise and getting sucked into large groups of conversation.

"I've always loved Taylors... they hold a deeper sound than most acoustics, makes everything sound somewhat soulful," Nova whispered, more to herself than anything as her gaze fell back on the guitar.

June
June waited eagerly and felt somewhat relieved as the nurse came out. “Alright thank you so much.” She went to walk back to her seat and continue the wait until she saw Mason’s mother. Slightly uncomfortable she still sat down and looked over in surprise when she actually spoke.

“Oh uh, I’m not his girlfriend. I’m a friend of his.” She said shyly, but trying to polite at the same time. “I just came to see if he will be okay.” She added and frowned a little when she heard the name come up. Does he already have a girlfriend? She thought.

Drake peeked his around the doorway, and then gave a faint smile when he saw Stu in the bed. "Hey, man. I already walked in on a couple people thinking it was the right room..." he shuddered, thinking about the naked woman he'd accidentally walked in, but he tried to push that thought aside as he walked over to the bed and took a seat in the chair next to Stu. The walk up here had managed to tire him out, and he was even more ready for sleep. But first, hospital visits.

"Mason got destroyed at football by Kanen, so like, we're here to take care of him." Drake started explaining, but dang words were hard to make sometimes, so he ended up taking in a deep sigh and didn't go on a rant like he tended to. "Anyway, figured I'd stop by to see how you're doing, man." Drake felt bad for not visiting Stu beforehand, but he hadn't exactly be in any condition to come see him. Or even get out of bed. He'd heard in passing from Mason that Stu was even here.

And yes, Drake looked like a mess. After the party, Drake had returned home, crawled under his blankets, and hadn't moved until about an hour ago. He hadn't had the energy to get out of bed, and all he'd wanted was sweet, sweet sleep. Maybe not the healthiest thing, but Mason was always scared to try and move him when he hit a depressed episode -- which pretty much left him to his own devices. Anyway, he hadn't had the energy to change out of his clothes to come to the hospital, so he was still in the same ensemble. Skinny jeans, boots, oversized raggedy hoodie. There were some stains on his pants that were either vomit or alcohol. It was hard to tell.

Jace was standing over his desk, trying to boot up his desktop and laptop to get some work done after Nova left. He looked over his shoulder as she spoke and nodded his head in agreement. "This one's a Martin." He said and pointed to the old guitar next to his desk before he turned back to his computer for a moment. "Only one that I'll play, actually. Well, within reason. I try all my new things on it." He finally stepped away from the laptop and picked his guitar back from it's stand and lovingly pulled the strap over his head.

"You can borrow that one, if you want." He said and gestured towards the guitar that she had taken a liking to. "It suits you." Yeah, that made total sense. The guitar just sort of looked like it would... well, yeah, fit her, and go with her whole adorable awkward teenage girl thing she had going on. "And then show me what you got." Jace challenged her as his own fingers easily took their places on his guitar, and he strummed a simple little diddly because I'll be danged if I explain music terms.

"Of course he'll be okay. Just a broken leg." Maria rolled her eyes. "Acting as if he burned off his freaking face or overdosed. Now overdosing. That is cause for people to come to the hospital. But do you see people rushing to the hospital when Drake overdoses? No. But Mason has a little fangirl sitting out here waiting for his sorry ass." She shook her head and of course, didn't look at June as she spoke. Instead, she was just staring straight ahead, waiting for the nurse to come back.

"Right. 'Friend.' Sure." She snorted. As if she hadn't heard that sorry excuse before.

Finally, the nurse came walking back out and said that they could back to see Mason. Maria got up, thankful to be able to finally go back, see him, and be able to get out of here.

Mason looked up as they walked in, and his face fell when he saw his mother. He ignored her for the time being, instead looking towards June. "Hey. I figured you'd be gone by now." He hadn't expected her to wait while they took care of his leg. So far all they'd done was clean it up and let him know they'd definitely need to do surgery. The extent of the surgery and the injury wouldn't be completely known until they tried to put the bone back together.

Nova Abrisst
"Seriously?" Nova faltered, her attention snapping over to Jace as he offered for her to take it from the wall and borrow it. A Taylor? Like an actual Taylor, this guy was going to loan her, a random stranger. Not that she was complaining, it was incredibly kind of him. She carefully took the guitar off the wall, smiling wide as she sat on the couch with it and doing her best (and failing) to hide the light rosy blush that fell onto her cheeks at the blonde's comment. Nova wasn't exactly certain of what it meant that the guitar 'suited her' but she'd take it. Her smile softened slightly, leaning more in the direction of adoration as she listened to Jace's effortless melody, jealous of his skills and uncertain of her own. Although, uncertainty seemed to surround Jace.

He didn't come off as a jock (obviously) but he wasn't this total loner. Hell he hadn't known Nova for a day and here she was, on his couch which was ridiculously comfortable and borrowing a guitar worth hundreds of dollars. And yet he seemed so so nice... maybe a brooding hopeless romantic type. It was driving the hazel eyed girl crazy not being able to pinpoint what Jace's 'deal' was, but she hoped she could stick around at least long enough to get a hint.

As for his challenge... Nova hadn't been able to play since she sold her guitar... but she hoped it would be like singing to her and just come back semi-naturally. "Well I definitely can't do that, so no judging," She chuckled as she nodded in the direction of the talented young man before leaning back into the couch and bringing the guitar up with her. "Also no judging my humming, it helps me play," Nova added in before placing her fingers on the strings, humming to the words of 'Give Me Love' by Ed Sheeran as she began to play the melody, what with it being one of the only things she knew. And while her guitar work may have been slightly lacking, her humming surely was not, and she couldn't help but smile. It had been so long since she had done any sort of singing or humming or even bad shower singing, and it felt good to do it again. With or without a cute stranger in the room with her.

Finishing the last chord with a slow strum, Nova took a deep breath before resting her hands lazily over the body of the acoustic, looking up at Jace's figure perched on the desk with a small grin, the kind that just barely pulled at the corners of her mouth. "So how bad was it?" She asked with a fake cringe.

June
June didn’t say anything and only seethed in her feelings of incredible sadness for Mason and Drake. It showed like a slap on a face that she didn’t care about them. Mentioning Drake overdosing being worth going to the hospital, but they hadn’t gone. Is this why he didn’t want to go? She wondered. Not to mention she was rude speaking to her and about her son. It shocked her, but she still wanted to be nice.

Then when the nurse came June quickly got up and followed right behind the nurse to his room. When she entered she smiled despite him not looking too happy that his mother was here. “Oh uh, I could have huh? But, I just want to make sure everything goes well.” Also, I don’t have a way to leave anyways. She thought to herself and went to stand besides him, glancing at his leg. “What did they say they have to do? From what I saw, it wasn’t pretty...” She mentioned with a concerned look on her face.

Ryan had pulled out his phone and recorded everything that Kanen had said. When Kanen had asked Ryan if he had anything else. "I just got a couple questions. First how are you doing today?" He asked because the last time he saw him he had stormed off after exploding at the party. He never realized that Kanen was so hurt. "Second, did it feel good putting Mason on the ground?" He asked. He knew Mason was an asshole. Hell Ryan had put him on the ground a couple times. "Lastly, do you think you would make a better captain seeing as you don't mind dealing with the pain that would come with it?" He asked. With the current Captain out then they would need someone as the back up. Kanen was big and didn't mind taking a hit. He would be a good back up in Ryan's book.

He then looked at Ash. This was Awkward. Ryan had rushed over to Kanen and Ash with Raven. He would have asked Ash if she still believed that Ryan had slept with Grace. But he was here for the paper, and his personal questions could come later. If she still believed in a rumor then she was stupid. He told the truth and she should believe that. Not what she thought had happened.

Raven gave a nod at the cheerleader, noticing the wince When she spoke her name. She waved away her apology. And was confused when the girl looked at the ground, “Hey, don’t be sorry. El animador.” She grinned, and shrugged “Not everyone cares for football practice.” She said, mouthing an ‘I don’t’ To her. Giving her a playful smile, maybe it’ll help her mood..which she doubted strongly. Raven couldn’t help but wonder why she seems so down?

Turning her head towards Ryan as he asked the questions, she chuckled when she heard him ask how his day was. Sweet boy, which surprised Raven to begin with. He seemed like the ‘bad boy’ type, maybe a little less in a Kanen way, but it was odd..everything about him screamed ‘good guy.’ she stared at him for a few seconds, as he spoke. Ryan looked away from Kanen, and due to curiousity she followed his gaze, and it landed on Ash. Ah, maybe that’s why she’s upset.

I wonder what’s the story there?

Ash suddenly spoke when Mason’s name was brought up, “Well, to be fair he only broke his leg? I think it was?” She said, unsure. And thought for a second. “Probably shattered his ego too, come to to think of it.” She shrugged, “But he’s at the hospital now, he’s getting taken care of.” She reassured her. She looked back towards Kanen, eagerly awaiting his answers, Ryan had good questions. Hopefully Kanen possessed the answers she wanted.

"Look, I didn't break Mason's leg. I threw him and someone stepped on him. That's not on me. But, I wouldn't have done things differently. Mason talks big, but he isn't shit, especially not on that field." Kanen spoke, hooking a thumb into the seam of his pants since they didn't have any pockets. "If the team wants me as a captain, I'll step up and do it. But I doubt that'll happen. I'm like the new kid on the block here, I haven't played with those guys since I was a sophomore."

His eyes looked between the two interviewers quickly. "That it?" He asked, though it wasn't much of a question, just kinda Kanen declaring that he was done."I've kinda got some shit I need to go take care of before it gets too late.." Part of that was just an excuse to get away from Ash. It's not like she was annoying or anything, the opposite was true actually. She was a pretty girl who was genuinely nice. Kanen could appreciate that. But at the same time, Kanen didn't want to make himself a burden on herself and her family. He'd rather get a job himself and do his best to provide for himself.
