Realistic or Modern "We're the Foster kids"

Josh smiled and nodded before walking up to the door and knocking gently. He looked back at the frightened teen behind him and pulled him into a hug.


"You're gonna be just fine Joely. Remember, I'll come visit a lot and I'm just a phone call away. Yeah?"


Joel nodded a little, shaking in nervousness. He was getting pale, not wanting to go.

Jay was skating towards his house coming back from football lifting when he noticed some of the new kids. Though he went passed him, and went to the neighbor's back yard, and got the mower. He found the keys in the garage, and brought out the speakers. He hooked up his phone before he started the mower. The song Thks Fo th Memrs playing in the background.

Simon arrived at the area quietly. He asked for his room and walked there without a word, not even a sinple goodbye. He didn't feel like small talk was necessary, even when the lady at asked him how he was. He wouldn't answer, just nod in response. Once he was there, he set his bad down and looked around. He admired the decor. It was perfect, to say the least. He laid on the bed and stared at the ceiling absently. He would like it here, as long as he was left alone in his room for the majority of the day. This would be fine, then.

Emily shyly backed away, not even saying goodbye, she didn't want to be in any trouble, she had been bad, yeah, but she had common sense, being bad got her into the previous group home she was in, which she hated with a passion and let that be known, she didn't really want to leave this place quite yet, it was nice and places like this came about once in a lifetime for her. She noticed more kids come in and she slipped into the backyard, sitting on the porch steps and running her fingers through her hair, she smiled once she heard that song, music was one of the only things that calmed her.

Jay just continued to push the mower. He would talk to the new kids later. Right now he had to get the mowing job done, so he could swim. After a few more strips of grass, Jay yelled " Yes finally done. Jay the stripped off his shirt, and his shoes and socks. His skin was already shining with sweat so Jay ran to the diving board and flipped off of it making a big splash. Maybe one of the new foster kids would come say hi or something.

Emily smiled at the boy that went into the pool and laughed, she began to walk over and wave "Hiya" she said, trying to be friendly and social for a change

Jay heard the girl say hi. Jay looked up at her and smiled, but blushing a little bit. "Oh hi I'm Jay your guys neighbor. Nice to meet you." Jay said as he got out of the water, and turned the speakers down a little. He then shook out his hair to stop it form dripping.

Emily smiled at him, he seemed nice, and cute, not that it mattered anyway. "Hi, I'm Emily, Emily Smith, It's a pleasure to meet you Jay, I'm one of the new foster kids, and your here because...?" she was quite curious as to why the boy was here, he seemed friendly and even if he hadn't told her that he wasn't a foster she would know, he had the innocence, the one telling her that he had seen noting of the sort that she had dealt with in her history, and she was glad that he hadn't, those places can ruin a person.

Well I am your guys neighbor. I mow the lawn, and do chores around here for your guys foster parents, then in return they let me swim in the pool." Jay said flashing a genuine smile, and blushing a little more. "Though it does seem like my job will be taken soon. Though that wont stop me from hanging out with you." Jay said as he blushed a little more.

Ah, yes, friends. That's what he was told he needed. What good would friends do him? Another person to leave him? From the looks of it that's all it was. Being abandoned. He simply nodded at the girl and looked away. "Mmhm." He said as he sat down. He still thought about why everyone thought he needes friends. He just needed music. Music was his escape from the bullshit called reality. Which is something very hard to escape sometimes.

Emily laughed "I don't know, some of the kids here seem pretty uninterested in doing anything" She sat down on the grass and looked up at the sky "I guess it doesn't really matter to me, I'll do what I have to do to stay here," she turned her head and looked at hinm, giving him a cheeky smile "It would be nice to have a friend though"

Samantha was in the kitchen, practically dancing on her toes in her excitement. Unfortunately, this action did not mix well with her attempts to cook supper. Just simple comfort food tonight--spaghetti and meatballs, plus of course salad and garlic bread. It was simple, especially to make in bulk. She had been so excited when the kids got there, but Eric had laughed at her and tried to convince her not to be too enthusiastic and freak them out. Besides, they had seemed eager enough to get their rooms set up, so Sam had left the kids--My new kids, she thought excitedly, since Eric wasn't around to correct her about the technicalities--to settle in for awhile. She recited their names in her head while she mixed the ingredients for the sauce. Leo, Emily, Callie. Simon, Joel, and Josh.

Emily moved out of the way to avoid the water, she loved it but her clothes weren't exactly the ones she wanted to get wet "Yeah, I'll be in school as soon as possible" she sighed, not exactly in a rush to do so. She smelled food and smiled, "Dinner!" she said happily and she got up off of the grass. "See ya! unless your staying for dinner?" she wasn't exactly familiar with the routine so she didn't know

No I will probably stay. I mean if it's okay with you and your mom?" Jay asked a little sheepishly. Jay then realized he didn't have a not sweaty shirt, but he had his muscle shirt in his back pack by the speakers. "If it is spaghetti then I am definitely staying." Jay said as he jumped up, and put on his shirt.
