Realistic or Modern Welcome to Camp Crystal Pond! Beware of Wendigos

Pence Zither

Having set up his bunk station with his gear and switched the bed sheets as per his mother's 'repeated' insistence he began to change into more comfortable attire. It took him a whole 10 seconds to realise that this wasn't a boy's only cabin by the time he'd reached for his jimmies before mindfully deciding to keep them on and just switch to more camp friendly attire.

When he was about to change shoes he noticed something placed underneath his bed and decided to pull it out.

"Hey, guys. Check out what I got under my bed!" he called out like he'd won a lottery or something. The aspect of the unknown egging him to unwrap the package even as a part of him knew not to.

*Could belong to the counsellor?* He mused internally before putting the box down. Suddenly he was less inclined to look inside.

S Sloth Campers.

Caitlyn rummaged around in her bags, looking for the swimwear that she'd packed.

"I think she said to get changed into swimsuits," She said to Sophia.

Slipping off to the bathroom behind the curtain to change, she shut it as close to the wall as it could go, which was not close enough for her liking. She wondered what the swim test would be. Would they have to tread water? She wasn't very good at that. Truthfully, Caitlyn wasn't very good at athletics in general, something which worried her about being at a summer camp. She was generally slow and easily winded... she hoped there wouldn't be any races or anything like that.

Amelia RoseAmelia thought for a moment.
"Uh...There should be tire tracks from the bus that came earlier, but I'm pretty sure you turn left. Towards the lake," she said.

In the Sloth cabin, Riley had thrown his suitcase onto his bed - and himself on after it. Upon hearing an exclamation, though, he sat up and moved towards the commotion.

There was a boy, but Riles payed little attention. He wasn’t here to make friends. Instead, his gaze zeroed in onto the box in his hands. Sporting a grin that can only be described as malicious, he attempted to elbow the founder of said item out of the way, reaching to grab the box.

“Awesome! Do you think it’s, like, blackmail worthy?”

Gage didn't bother responding verbally, but instead went back into the cabin where he sauntered over to the bunk beds and shrunk to rest on his feet so he could search beneath them. It took him a moment to spot the box, but he was quick to pull it out and grab a snack from it. After shoving the box back under the bunk he moved away from the beds and started to munch on it while walking, coming to rest in the seat nearest to the entrance and wait.

JEREMY WATERS

"Oh, that's pretty rad," Jeremy replied, using the word completely unironically, smile widening a bit. He'd have to offer her to try his board sometime then, since she sounded like she actually knew how to use it. No way he'd lend it to someone who didn't know how. He sighed a little when he heard that it was sold though, and gave her a quick shrug. "Shame about that... Boards are more valuable than people'd think, huh?"

The redhead paused a bit at the other question, uncertain what to reply. He'd rather not actually admit that he barely had any friends in the place he lived now, mostly because they'd recently moved there. It made him feel weirdly stupid and weak, after all he was a pretty cool guy, but having no friends kind of - made you seem like a lonely loser. So he shrugged in reply, and glanced away, trying his best to hide the fact that he was a terrible liar; "Yeah, I gotta few. But my mum keeps movin' around so- Ya know, hard to get too close to folks when ya don't stick around for more than a year. I'm movin' back to London when I turn 18 though, my brother lives there."

He was about to say something more when the kid Celestia was holding the hand to suddenly yanked it away. The sudden surprise caused him to jump back a little and utter some rather filthy words, then a dramatic eye roll. "Fuckin' chill out, kid." - just as a moped drove past them sudden enough for him to jump yet again.

MARTIN MCCONNOR

"Hm, alright. Thanks," Martin replied with a sigh. She was right - there was in fact some deep tracks taking to the right on the road. He cursed a little at his own stupidity and revved up the engine again, driving as fast as he could down the road. It didn't take long before he wooshed past some teens on their way up to the main campsite - he didn't really pay attenion to them, but they seemed like some ginger boy, a girl and a child. Perhaps one of them would be in his cabin. He didn't know, but he kept it in mind while he parked the moped by the main building and looked around, nodding for himself while also having genuinely no idea where or what he was supposed to go or do. Boy, this was gonna be exciting.

Her mouth opened to speak. She was about to say how lovely it would must be to reunite with his family soon, but a sudden jerk of her shoulder made a small piping sound at the joint and caused her to literally bite her tongue.
“Ow! Hey!” Celestial let go of Rudy’s hand, her grip was pretty firm before, trying to make sure he stayed with her as they ran. “That hurt.” She looked down at him. He seemed angry about something. Could have been the running, or something else?

“What’s wrong?” She crouched down to his eye level and the passing of a moped sent a gust of wind pass them, blowing her hair back behind her. “Don’t like to run? Or is there something else I’m missing?” She spoke soflty and kindly. Not wanting to provoke the kid more.

“Awesome! Do you think it’s, like, blackmail worthy?”

She raised a good point. It could prove useful. Hmmm ... he began the short sequence of opening the package with gingerly hand movements. One eye closed and neck craned away from the container he chanted mentally,"Don't be underwear, don't be underwear, don't b-"

"Oh ... it's just snacks, guys." he said holding up two packets of chips before chucking them onto his bed.

"Guess Christmas came early this year." Throwing some snacks in the directions of the less occupied individuals.

Amelia RoseAmelia put her phone in her belt after he hung up and walked into the cabin.
"Okay Owls, are we ready?" she asked her cabin.

Rudolf Nadja

Near the Entrance
Rudy lowered his face away from her gaze, folding his arms over his puffed-out chest. His eyes danced along the dirt road to avoid hers. His anger was quickly transforming into an aftershock of embarrassment and guilt, as Rudy struggled to keep up his temper. Rudy was not one to hurt anybody, and he felt a great deal of misery for her troubles, but he couldn't understand why he'd suddenly feel withdrawn now, or even angry in the first place. The whole thing felt almost other-worldly.

Still, It felt frustrating to be treated like some sort of child. He didn't need to hold the hand of some overbearing stranger that he hadn't met not 5 minutes ago. Then again, this whole temper-tantrum wouldn't help his case. Maturity was key.
After a long time to ponder,He was finally ready to talk reasonably.

Rudy answered with a sigh and extended a hand out to pat her shoulder for comfort. "Fixed?" He asked. Just then, something snapped within him. Like an ignited powder keg, the kid seemingly exploded.
Rudolf roared back at the boy, growing red in the face with fury and rage.
"OH, FUCK YOU!"
