Solana stopped cleaning his face, staring into his eyes in shock. Had he just said that? "T-Thank you..."


She blushed brightly, turning away from his as she grabbed the alcohol and cotton swabs. Putting some on the swab she looked over at him. "This is going to sting." She said, trying to avoid replying to his compliment.


Zori glanced up at her and shrugged. "I don't think I ever really saw you with anyone so if you want to classify yourself as a loner than yeah sure..." He said, making himself a small sandwich and pouring some chips and cookies into a bowl. He plopped down at the table, motioning for Regan to sit with him.

Alex raises an eyebrow, but before he can comment again she begins to clean with alcohol. He winces and grunts heavily, he shuts his eyes and sighs. "Wow, rocks do damage.." He huffs.

Regan walked into the kitchen and sat across from Zori. "How often do you come here and eat Solana's food?" she teased, sending him a small smile. Regan thought about helping Solana with Alex but quickly dismissed the thought. She guessed they would want to be left alone together.

Solana made a small noise in agreement, putting it away once she finished. She felt bad when he grunted in pain but knew she had to do it. Grabbing a few bandaids she patched him up before wrapping gauze around his head for the larger wound on his temple. That would only be temporary. She'd make sure to take it off of him before he left.


"There we go..." She mumbled. "Now I just need to get you some ice."


"I come about every other day." Zori said with a shrug. "Or whenever I'm needed around the house.It's just her and her mom in here. Her father and brother live across the states. They come whenever they aren't needed on base." He said with a shrug before grinning. "So I'm usually needed a lot. A lot of help means a lot of food."

"That's really nice of you" Regan said honestly. She thought it was pretty sweet of Zori to help out Solana and her mom when needed. "I live with both my parents but it's more like I live by myself. They're always working so they're barely home." Regan found a loose string on her sweater and played with it as she talked.

Zori took a bite of his sandwich and nodded his head thoughtfully.


"I don't have that so I can't really understand you there..." He said softly. "My parents are always home. They work from home so I never get a minute alone. But if you ever feel the need of having parent like figures around you- you can always come to my house. They'd love to coddle you." Zori said with a small chuckle.

 

[Tasteless]

Alex smiled weakly, and looks up at her. "I don't remember who attacked me, or why.. I was looking for you.." Alex sighed, rubbing his head in pain.

Solana bit her lip when he said that, feeling bad that she'd been the reason he'd gotten hurt.


"I'm sorry..." She said, stroking his cheek. "I should have stayed with you during the drill." She sighed, pulling him up and walking him out the bathroom and to her living room over to the couch.

Regan laughed and shook her head. "Thanks, but I'm good." She didn't really mind being by herself most of the time. Regan looked at Zori with a small smile. She usually didn't have a lot of friends or keep them around for long but she really liked Zori. She thought she'd keep him around for a while. Regan heard some movement in the living room and turned her head. She saw Solana helping Alex sit on the couch.

 

[Tasteless]

Alex Sits On the couch, and shrugs. "It's not your fault, I should have been watching where I was going. ." He smiled softly, no longer tired.

Zori smiled at her, laughing as well. "You're missing out on a crazy family here. But alas, if you do not wish to see those crazy oldsters then I won't force you." He said with a small smile before waving. "Alex man! Looking a bit better!"


Solana looked up at the two. "Can one of you get the ice packs that are in the freezer?" She asked politely, sitting down beside Alex. "I'll order us all a pizza." She looked over at Alex and pointed, "Lay down now. You need your rest." She ordered, "You can rest your head on my lap."

He smiled, resting his head on her lap. "Wow, how sweet of you." He teases, stroking her hand gently.

Solana rolled her eyes at him, relaxing just a bit. She blushed when he stroked her hand and pulled it away from her, letting it rest on her side before slowly letting her hand run through his hair. She took note of the blood on his shirt and in his hair, grimacing as some dried up specks came off and onto her dress. "You need a clean shirt and your hair washed." She mumbled.

"Yeah sure" Regan said, getting up and going to the freezer. She opened it and looked around for the ice pack. She found it and brought it over to Solana quickly, smiling when she Alex's head on her lap. She didn't say anything as she held in her snicker though. When she sat back down across from Zori, she started laughing quietly so the other two wouldn't hear.

"Thank you Regan." Solana said softly, sending her new friend a thankful smile as she took the ice pack. She then placed it on Alex's face where it was bruised. "This will help with the swelling." She mumbled.


Zori raised an eyebrow at Regan when she began to laugh. "What is it?" He asked, completely curious. He looked over at the couch, now realizing that he only saw Solana. Where was Alex?

Alex smirked, "I know, I need a shower. " He smirked and sighed heavily.. "I also have spare clothes in my car I can change into." He winced at the cold ice pack on his hot swollen cheek.

Regan finally stopped laughing so that she could speak. "Alex has his head on Solana's lap. It's pretty adorable" she smirked. "I'm sure they're gonna start dating pretty soon." Regan smiled as she turned her head to look at them. "There is no doubt about it."

"Well my mom's not home so you can use mine if you want to." She offered, looking down at him. "It's certainly open if you need it." She bit her lip when he winced from the pack. "I'm sorry Alex. I just want the swelling to go down."


Zori smiled at the thought of Alex having his head on Solana's. "There's no doubt they'll become a couple soon." He said with the nod of his head. "Man, Alex is gonna be tied down. That means his side chick cheerleader will have no one to go to." He snickered.

Regan turned back around to face Zori then laughed, covering her mouth with her hand. "I'm sure she could find someone else from the football team or something. Don't worry. She'll get her claws on another athlete soon enough."

Alex smiled weakly, "it's alright." He touched his hand to the one she was a using go hold the ice pack for a second, "it hurt a little, it's better now. " He said gently. "I've already been taking up your time and you had to use your medicine on me, I don't want to be anymore trouble." He said gently.

Zori laughed along with her before shuddering. "No way. I hope she doesn't. I've heard way too many stories about the girl from the other track guys who've had a go. She's a talented young woman- let's keep it at that."


Solana smiled softly down at him. "It's okay, I hardly ever get injured and my mother never gets injured either. Besides, I've been wanting to update my skills on taking care of someone." She said teasingly before becoming serious. "You can use my shower Alex. Don't think you're intruding."

 

[Tasteless]

Alex blushed heavily, before smirking. "I need a shower that bad?" He chuckled before beginning to sit up. "If I'm that bad ill hop in now." He set the ice pack down gently, before grabbing his keys. "I'll get my clothes, I'll be right back." He said softly.

Regan couldn't help laughing again. "Okay, but you never know...There is a possibility she might start liking you. You're an athlete, you seem smart, and you're pretty cool so why not?" Regan shrugged.

"Well you don't need a shower that bad." Solana replied, laughing a bit. She looked up at him and nodded. "BE careful out there. Take your time and don't get too dizzy walking." She instructed, grabbing her phone to order the pizza.


Zori shuddered. "I don't want that woman anywhere near me. No. No way. No how."
