Realistic or Modern Washington High School: Student Chronicles

"I know, Zori" Regan sighed, running a hand through her hair and messing it up again. "Now I really don't know what to do. Why did he even choose me in the first place?" Regan knew that neither Zori or herself had the slightest clue to why but she still asked anyway. "I can't do this. I can't."

Zori looked over at her and gave her a sad smile. "I honestly have no clue. I didn't know you two were that close to be honest." He said with a small shrug as he looked back at the TV before looking at her. "Maybe that's why?"

"I don't even think he considered me his friend" Regan said quietly as she took the letter and read over it again. She did feel a bit bad that Butch was gonna be gone for a while. "We weren't close at all. I don't think he was all that bad a person though. He wasn't that bad." Regan sighed then started to slowly fold up the letter, putting it in the notebook.

Zori watched her as she took the letter and read it.

"Maybe he chose you then because he thought you were someone of good stature. Someone who actually thought to give him a chance." Zori said with a small shrug.

Regan shrugged also then got up to put the notebook in her room. This was kind of too much for her to take in all at once. She walked back into the living room and looked at Zori apologetically. "I'm sorry for bringing you into this mess, Zori."

Zori looked up at Regan and shrugged. "It's alright Regan, really. This isn't something I'd leave you to do on your own. That much is for sure." He said, sending her a small smile.

Alex's eyes fluttered open, his head pounded. He slowly sat up, his hair flecked with gravel and his face smeared with dirt and blood. His face ached, he reached up and gently touched his swollen cheek bone, wincing in pain. He had gotten caught up in a large fight and had been hit with something hard knocked out and left. He looks around, for Solana, for anyone.. yet he is alone in the courtyard behind the school. He slowly gets up, before noticing a rock. He must have been hit with a rock, it was covered in blood. He gently touched his forehead, it was numb, and when he looked at his fingers they were covered in blood.

Regan sent a gentle smile back but she still felt bad. "I think we should go back to the school and see what happened over there. Plus we left Solana by herself." She started to walk towards the front door then opened it slowly.

Solana had done her best to avoid the many fights that had broken out. She'd seen Alex get sucked up into one and while she had tried to get over to him, she'd been swept up by the crowd and pulled away. She now walked around, wondering where in the world he could have gone. Police were at the school and all fights dispersed. They were thinking of dismissing everyone for the day anyway.

"Alex!" She shouted, looking around. "Alex!!"

"It was crazy when we left." Zori said, nodding in agreement. He stood, going still for a few seconds before his eyes widened. "Oh my goodness we did leave her at the school by herself." He said, grabbing Regan and pulling her out the house. Letting her lock the door, he ran to the car, hopping inside.

"Okay, okay. Slow down a bit" Regan said. She staggered a little bit as Zori pulled her out of the house then climbed into the car and quickly put on her seat belt. "I wonder what's happening at the school now" she said quietly, playing with her hair nervously. "So many fights were going on."

Zori shrugged a bit, starting his car and pulling out of Regan's driveway. "I honestly have no idea. It was really crazy out there. Those fights... So many of them at one time."

Regan nodded her head and waited until they got back to the school. She saw a couple police cars in front of the school and this troubled her. "Why are there police here?" Regan asked, waiting for Zori to park the car before she took off her seatbelt and got out.

Alex could hear yelling, he winced as he attempted to stand. He didn't know why he was standing, he just was. He looked around, his world spinning. He slowly stumbled up the hill of the courtyard, toward the school building. He tripped over his own feet at the top, landing in thee gravel. He winced, his cheek and palms getting sliced by the jagged rocks. He could see police cars in front of the school, he slowly got to his feet, blood dripping down his swollen cheek bone and the side of his head. He wiped his bloody hands on his white shirt.

"I have no idea. That's not a good thing if they are here." Zori said, parking the car and seeing the students still outside. "Maybe they came because of all the fights? Or because of Butch? I don't know."

Solana continued to call for Alex, wondering where he could have been. She made her way to the courtyard and her eyes landed on a body on the ground. She quickly made her way over to the body before gasping when she realized it was Alex.

"Alex!" She said, dropping to his side with her face full of worry.

"They already took Butch though..." Regan said as she walked up to Zori's side. She looked around and saw a few people injured from the many different fights. "What if they know about the money and that someone else other than Butch has it?"

Alex smiled weakly, his forehead swollen near his temple, and his cheek bone severely bruised. His shirt was bloody, and his hair was sticky with blood. "Hey." He smirked, even when he was injured and clearly in pain he was handsome with a side of humor.

Zori looked over at Regan and frowned. "I doubt that. I want to doubt that. But that sounds like it's possible. I'm going to hope that's not what it is though. If that is the reason then we are fucked." He said, taking a deep breath and shaking his head.

Solana didn't smile bag, dropping her bag and rummaging through it. "You look terrible Alex!" She said, pulling out a handkerchief. She immediately pressed it to Alex's face, trying to get some of the blood. "You need the nurse ASAP." She said, looking at him with a frown.

Alex winced as she began blotted his forehead. He grunted, "is it that bad?" He looks up at her, She'said worried... about me? Alex became flushed slightly, "i-I think I'm okay.. just a few scratches.." He check for his phone, he had left it in his car this morning. "What time is it? Is it after school?" He asked her as he started to attempt to get up.

"Such comforting words" Regan mumbled sarcastically. "But you're completely right about that." She started to walk towards the school slowly, her things were still inside in the English classroom. She walked past a group of kids that were talking and a bit shaken up from the fight. She turned her head to look at Zori. "Our stuff are still inside. Maybe after we get it we can look for Solana."

"It's that bad Alex..." She said softly, looking as though she wanted to cry for him. "There's no way that's a few scratches. I honestly think you should go to the hospital Alex... If not the hospital than at least let me get you patched up." She said, helping him stand. She wrapped an arm around his waist and put his arm over her shoulders. "Lean on me for support if you need it, okay Alex?" She said softly, looking at him.

Zori shrugged. "I'm not the most comforting person." Zori said with a small laugh before it turned into a frown when they walked. He listened to the students around them speaking of the fights. "...On second thought, I'm glad we left..." He muttered, looking around before turning to Regan. "That sounds like a good idea. Hopefully they're still around here."

Alex winced slightly, "You know.. I saw me with my arm around you eventually, but not cause of a situation like this.." He winced again, hugging her tightly as he stumbled lightly. "Take me to my car, you can drive me to your place, or my place. I don't care." He sighed.

Solana blushed and couldn't stop the small smile that came to her face. "Oh shut up Alex. Now is not the time." She scolded him as she began to guide him around the school to the parking lot. "I'll drive to my place."

Students were still crowded around the front of the building so Regan had to take Zori's hand as they walked through in order not to lose him. They finally got through the doors. The building was completely empty, maybe except for a few students walking from the nurse's office. Regan started walking down the hallway towards the English class then remembered she was still holding Zori's hand. "Sorry" she mumbled with a blush as she let go of his hand.

Zori's eyes widened in surprise when Regan took a hold of his hand. He smiled, holding her hand tightly in his as she lead them through the crowd. He sighed in relief when they finally got through and back inside. "That was torture." He had noticed that she was still holding his hand but said nothing. He honestly didn't mind that she was. He looked a bit surprised when she pulled her hand back and smiled when she blushes.

"It's alright. No need to apologize. I enjoyed holding your hand." He said, sending her a wink as he walked into the classroom.

"Alex and Solana's things are still in here. I'll grab it up." He said, grabbing their things.

Regan blushed some more then quickly packed up her stuff along with Zori's since he had Alex and Solana's stuff in his hands. "They're probably still here if there stuff is still in the class. Hopefully we can find them if they are." Regan slipped her bag on her shoulder then picked up Zori's bag. "I'll carry it for you" she said with a smile as she left the classroom again.
