Yeah they have a thing for each other but don't do anything about it because they feel they aren't right for one another. K.T. Thinks he'll spoil Dustin's innocence and Dustin doesn't find himself good enough to be with K.T. Plus he's uber shy and won't do anything about it most likely.

If Kiara and Kovu are ultimate ships and it works in our favor. . perhaps. . things between Dustin and KT won't work out since Dustin has a thing for Li as well and they're ship, at the same time, things between Ethan and Kiara won't work out, because Ethan has a thing for Leah, and they're ship too. Perhaps, KT and Kiara both are childhood friends but perhaps, there was something there, but they didn't act on it because of a good friendship, and so they pursued others yet it didn't work. Something like that?
