Silva likes nothing better that getting her own way. When things are as she would have them and all is right in the world she is a happy, bubbly, and occasionally hyperactive child. On the other hand, when faced with an obstacle to her momentary desires (whatever they might be), she transforms into a stubborn monster who will stop at nothing to get her own way. Regardless, she tends to be wary around strangers, and often won't speak within earshot of someone she does not trust. She bestows trust sparingly, choosing only a handful of people to confide in. To her trusted friends she seems a cheerful bright spot. To outsiders she is beyond standoffish; a metaphorical brick wall.


BIO


Silva was born into a noble-class family tasked with care of the gemstone mine; in addition to inheriting wealth, title, and prestige in the kingdom, she and her forefathers have traditionally inherited a slew of enemies. As the youngest of three, she has very few responsibilities within the family business, though she has spent her life surrounded by gems, influential personage, and enslaved magical creatures. Throughout the first half of her life, these things simply were: life was all luxuries and games for Silva, since her parents took great care to shelter her from the danger they faced daily.


At the age of five, she watched her perfect world shatter. Her father had been outside the city walls for a morning ride. They brought him back on a stretcher, covered in a sheet. She would never forget the sight of him or the sound of her mother's screaming sobs. Nothing had been the same since.


Her eldest brother, Atair, took over family affairs; their mother was too broken to carry on. Atair funneled his mourning into hatred of magical creatures. He became a hard, cruel man who punished his slaves unnecessarily. Their mother's health continued to decline; she never left their home and kept a combat-trained Chimera with her at all times. By extension, Silva's own freedom was severely restricted. Her brothers were too busy filling the holes left by their fallen father, her mother too busy wallowing in despair. She was allowed out to play only under the strict supervision of a family slave, and then only briefly.


Needless to say her stubborn spirit, bred through years of being given whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted it, was not like to settle for this sudden lack of freedom. She took to sneaking out and wandering the city on her own, much to her family's distress. They tried a myriad of solutions, from punishments to higher security before they were forced to admit that either they needed to give her a way to get what she wanted safely, or they would be forced to deal with an unbearably moody child for the rest of their days.
