I was wondering. Thanks for clearing that up. You're already leading in two other games you and I share. =)I don't want to give the impression that I don't want to be in charge; that 'short straw' comment was just me being silly.
You are so courteous to me. Thank you.I was wondering. Thanks for clearing that up. You're already leading in two other games you and I share. =)
You deserve it!You are so courteous to me. Thank you.
Sherwood Hold up. I just realized - I don't know the squad's purpose. Something about being multi-role and able to infiltrate enemy positions? A CCT might only be useful once in a blue moon in a team like that. Just what does this team do for the UEEF again? To my quick scan of the link, it sounds more like it would be a Navy role (at least in this game), working to coordinate the ground and air forces to work together. In the core book there is a Technical Officer OCC that would fit into that role well with the Communications MOS package. So long as you also take the Pilot Ground Veritechs and the MECT Silverback, that would work.
I imagine if my character was to be a Comm Specialist, Case would indeed be ditched.I am thinking, if your Pooh bear takes the EW sensor package of the Silverback, and we don't ditch Torni Case (or comms specialist), she could ride with you in the ATV and the two of you can then use the systems to a great effect.
Or not! Heh.That is entirely possible.
Oh, it's basically a SEAL team! Short work. Specialized in infil/extractions, demolitions, hit and runs? That's the last place you want a CCT (unless you plan on dropping an Arclight on the enemy afterward). O.K.. CCT is out.Good comments and concerns.
The role your squad will be doing is a lot of close-in work, infiltration into locations that are too small for the larger mecha to get into. Spaceship boarding, sabotaging Invid Hives, things like that. So, while a air strike will be useful in many occasions, it will also not be able to be used in all of them.
Imagine you are being tasked with the mission to capture an Invid Brain alive. You certainly don't want to blow the whole place to dust and ash if you want prisoners.
Hmmm. I'll consider that in a moment. I'll have to look over the MOS Package to see how it would balance in the game.Hey, waitaminute. What if (my favorite two words in role-playing) there were an MOS that took the place of Hover Tank Veritech Pilot (since there are none in this game) and turned it into a Cyclcone/Silverback Pilot specialist?

Sherwood Could T'kar somehow also keep Honey, his drone? Modify her as needed? I bet she'd be all kinds of helpful in tight spots for a team with this mission ideology.

A SEAL team is right on my image of what you will be doing.
I'll have to look over the drone and let you know. But it is a possibility.
Yes, that is exactly what I would do; swap over all references of the Spartas VHT to the Silverback.Sherwood
Cool! Just to keep you and I on the same page, do you think a Silverback/Cyclone specialist might look like this (converting VHT skills to Silverback):
Combat Driving
Navigation (+15%)
MECT: Silverback
Mech: Pilot Ground Veritechs with Silverback piloting specialty (+14%)
Military Tactics (+10%)
Weapon Systems (+15%)
W.P. Heavy Mega-Damage Weapons
Great!Ok, so no stats for the drone. I might be able to find something useable in one of the many (oh so many) books for the Rifts system that could be brought in. I don't like the idea of it not having a full set of stats to work with, for everyone's benefit of knowing what it can and can't do.

Specifically, Honey could follow easy-to-understand commands ("Guard her," "follow me," "weld that door shut," "shoot that walkie-talkie," "take watch while we sleep"). Being able to hover around quietly, deliver small objects or messages. Like the Bit from the movie Tron, Honey could basically only communicate in "yes" or "no" but could think on its own.Purr Here's a question about this drone. What do you expect it to be able to do? Is it strictly a guard-bot? Or is it more like R2-D2 with technical ability to fix stuff? What do you see for it?
