Eric smirked taking the file, "Okay, so let's go to when they got to the forth level. I always wondered what went on back there. One the first level, Our healer nearly died, got stabbed by a sword, Kevin stayed behind to protect him and help keep him alive. On level two, Kyle and I got stuck in a trap and couldn't move, Nicoli and Julia put a spell on us, so that we couldn't move until they came back, if we had, we would have been killed by the trap. I heard in level three, Julia saved Nicoli from being rapped in a hole, so only Nicoli and Helena made it to the forth level." he smirked, "The rebels followed us the whole way through, I don't know how they got to the forth floor, but I know, none of them came out alive." he took a deep breath, "So, take a breath and hold on." he said, taking her hand, before opening the file.

It was a flash, but they arrived at a point standing in front of a large stone. Helena grabbed Nicoli's hand and rushed to hid behind it as something was shooting energy out at them. Helena sighed, "And here I thought we would get that perfected by now." she said, as he panted. She looked at Nicoli, "Were you hit?" she asked at the shoot continued, the energy hit the stone and seem to be crashing through it slowly.

Rowan listened in surprise and then did as he said as they were pulled back in. She flinched at the sound of fighting but then quickly looked around, unaware of how tightly she was holding his hand still as she watched.

Nicoli looked to Helena. His eyes were bright, he wouldn't mind avoiding fighting but he was most certainly in his element when he was. "I think I'm okay, nothing that'll slow me down if I did manage to get hit. What about you?" He asked, then quickly placed his hand on her head to force her down as a shot scrapped across the top of their cover, showering rocks on top of them.

Helena sighed, as she pulled away looking at him, "Fine." she looked back, "And I wouldn't be so sure. That's a Shadow weapon, kind of. Not as powerful as the really thing but just as dangerous." she moved closer to him and smirked up at him, "We have been working with a few towers, like yours to develop artificial Shadow Weapons, that would not harm humans, just in case. That is actually one inspired by your human's fire stick shooters. On the bright side, there is actually a shield around here. On the not so bright side, we would have to move from here to get it." she looked at him, before she moved to her locket, "Here." she said as he opened it taking out a bright blue shard.

Eric looked surprised, "No way." he commented.

Helena smirked at him, "This is am Emery shard, not as powerful as the stone would be, but just as capable." she said, flinching at the next shoot that hit the stone. "Take it. you'll probably be the best one to get the shield and to be honest, I thought of giving it to when we finished this mission. As a thank you, I hope all warriors are like you. This will keep you alive, I can show you how to use it, just in case you get hit. I kind of rather you didn't stay died."

"That's incredible. Weapons like that would be nicer for protecting the humans." He said. He looked to the shard, he was honestly surprised, and he smiled some. "Thank you. I don't mind going for the shield but we need to find a place for you to stay safe while I do that. If you're coming with me I suggest you continue to hold onto the shard until we're done with this mission." He said. He ducked again in reflex when another piece of stone ricocheted passed his head.

Rowan looked to Eric. "That's like the stone that brought you back right?" She asked him.

Eric looked at her and nodded, "Yeah, a stone makes it possible to not just heal the body and bring it back, but it also makes it possible to do it more then once. As shard can bring the died back, but with minimum healing and only one. There have been stories about the original families mining these stones when they created the first tower, but to our knowledge, the Emery stones are few and far between. They are rare and nearly impossible to find. Even the one I found was dumb luck."

Helena smirked, "I want you to have this, Nicoli. I know the times is bad, but you are my friend and I don't want you to be harmed." she took his hand, "Please trust me." he said, looking in his eyes.

Rowan nodded, hesitating a moment as she watched what happened. "Could it bring my parents back?" She asked quietly. Perhaps that was selfish and she was sure with the amount of blood she had seen that they had been pretty badly mutilated.

Nicoli gave her a small smile and held the stone close. "I do." He said quietly. He cautioned a look when the shoot slowed and then looked to Helena once more. "We need to get you somewhere safe. And then I'll have you tell me where that shield is so I can go get it okay? After I do then maybe we can finish this mission." He said, smiling a little.

Eric frowned, "Only if they placed both souls in the shard, but that could only hold one. I'm guessing what we see next, is your father's soul being placed in the shard. Or...in human words, a copy of it, but not exactly." he stated.

Helena smirked, before she nodded, she kissed his cheek, taking the shard, "Then let me make sure you survive it." she said, she took the shard and stabbed it in his heart, closing her eyes, she muttered something before pulling the shard out, the tiny wound healed as the shard came out. She placed the shard in her locket again and took her locket off. She placed it around his neck and looked at him, "The stone will hold a little longer, the shield is fifteen feet left from this stone, it looks like a small disc. It has a tower on it, when you get it, push the center of the toward and the shield will deploy." Looking at Nicoli, and smiled, "I hope my betrothed is like you, be nice to have a friend."

Rowan nodded some. She doubted he would have kept it that way. And even if her father had she wasn't so sure he'd want to be brought back if her mother couldn't be. Or vice versa.

Nicoli hesitated, he felt bad not telling her. He should tell her. "Helena..." he started but another shot interrupted him. Their time was limited. The stone wouldn't hold long. "Please be safe. If something happens call for me. I promised you'd get back alive and I intend to keep that promise." He said. Before she could say anything he got to his feet, staying low and using the skills he'd honed his entire life to get to the shield. It had stung to be stabbed by the shard, and there was a ghost feeling that was strange to him. It's didn't keep him from noticing the shots that whizzed passed him, one grazing his arm deep enough to draw blood and sting. He ignored it though. He had to get to that shield and back to Helena.

Helena sighed, as she leaned against the stone, then she watched Nicoli, before she moved to open her bag, looking in it she had some of her equipment, she she started to toss them as far as she could, getting the shoots attention and giving Nicoli some times to make it to the shield.

Nicoli managed to make it to the shield without serious injury. He grabbed it, turning it over in his hands to do as Helena said. He felt a sudden stinging pain in his side, a shot going through him in his moment of distraction. He grunted, pressing the button for the shield and using it as he used a throwing knife and took out the rebel who'd managed to get close enough to him to shoot him. He rushed back to Helena, wanting to make sure to offer her the protection of the shield too. "Stay behind the shield help move it for me to cover me so I can take care of these guys." He said, smiling slightly. He knew how to deal with his pain until he had time to. He'd been trained on how to push through most any injury. A big drive for him was his team. He had to push through to ensure their safety, whether he was team leader or not.

Helena looked at him concerned, taking the world, but stopped him before he moved, "I'll try to draw its fire." She told him, she took the disc, turning the tower to one side as it fall out. She place it on Nicoli's chest and pushed it against him. The shield activated around him. "The shield drawer is per from the center, which can become a personal shield. I can use my own magic to power the shield. So you can get close without worrying about being protected, since you have the full power of the shield and I can stay safe with my magic as the power source for the shield. I should have enough to hold it for a while." She activated the shield, using her magic, before looking at Nicoli, "Go. I'm not sure how long it will hold for sure. You be the warrior, I'll stick to being the science." She smiled at him, to assure him that her plan was just as hopefully as his had been.

Nicoli grinned some and nodded. "Stay close to me so I know you're safe okay. Tell me I forgot anything happens." He said as he moved. He got to his feet. Using his throwing knives with ease and when those ran out he drew a short blade for closer combat. He could draw the knives from the fallen rebels to use again. Once he got going he knew he could get into a rhythm.

Helena nodded as white did what she was told. She was much slower then him, mostly because he was built for it and she was more just smart. She managed to reach a strong point and hid behind it. In moments, the shooting stopped, she waited a moment more before point her head out and she smirked, "So, I'm guessing you have done this before." She called to Nicoli.

Nicoli looked over to her and smirked. "A few times." He agreed with a sheepish smile. He held out his hand to her. "You okay? You weren't hurt at all were you?" He asked her. They needed to get what they came for and get to the rest of his team. But he knew she wasn't but used to this and he had to remind himself to slow down a bit. She might not be used to bouncing from task to task.

Helena turned the shield off and looked around herself, with a smirk, "Not even a scratch, which I can't say the same for you." she said reaching for his arm, but not touching the cut. "When we are done, you should get that looked at. We have no idea what an artificial Shadow Weapon can do to the Shadow that it doesn't kill."She sighed, looking around at the mess that the level four was in, "The item is over here."s he motioned as she started to the right of the room, "In a small box, it's kind of purple with diamond crossing over a laying down diamond and a crest just under it." she explained as she looked around, "Shouldn't take too long to find it." she said as she looked around.

Nicoli looked to his arm and nodded. "Yeah, I'll get checked when we get back." He promised. Holding his hand over the wound in his side. He followed after her, looking for what she described. He wasn't finding anything at first, he knew what to look for but at the same time he didn't really know what to look for. "I think I found it." He said. He didn't touch it though. He doubted it was dangerous to do so, but he didn't want to risk it.

Helena stopped and moved towards him and smirked, "That's it." she said before she leaned over to get it, she dusted it off and sighed. She smiled up at Nicoli, "You might have just saved my tower." she told him as she looked around, "We should go, before any traps activate." she said, as she started to lead the way, smiling at Nicoli. "You know that was impressive, maybe being betrothed to a warrior isn't so bad. After all, I know my betrothed has a Shadow Weapon and seeing you without one, I am sure he he is probably very responsible with that."

Eric looked surprised, "Well, that explains that." he smirked as he looked at Rowan, "Guess Hector didn't want Helena to know who Nicoli was, which was why he took his Shadow Blade. I always wondered, when I found out Nicoli had one, why he didn't take it on this mission."

Nicoli smiled weakly. He had an overwhelming urge to tell her who he was. He knew, she should know too right? He kept his mouth shut though and followed her to go. "Getting out of here would be nice. We also need to get the rest of our team out of their traps." He said. "And Helena? I hope when you actually meet your betrothed you're not...disappointed." He said. Disappointed wasn't the right word, but he hoped she wouldn't be angry.

Rowan looked over to him. "I had been wondering that as well. Surely he had to know My father may run into her. I guess that makes sense then." She said. She looked back to the scene. She hoped she could be like her father. She doubted she ever be as amazing as him not having grown up in this life but she hoped she could follow in his footsteps.

Helena looked at him, smiling, "If he is anything like you, I doubt that would be the way that I would feel." she teased. Then sighed, "After all, someone that puts their heart into their missions like you do, isn't as bad as all the warriors I have heard about." she chuckled.

Eric looked around, looking confused, "Let's try and find what happen to the shard." he told Rowan, "If we know were it is, we might be able to figure out how she plans to use it. I mean, it is in the locket here, but if it is in the locket, she has it. We saw her with it, but she just gave it to Nicoli, so when did he give it back?"

Nicoli gave another small smile, only feeling guiltier for not saying anything. He couldn't though. Not while they were still in potential danger.

Rowan hesitated. "Maybe before he left for good to be with my mother?" She suggested, looking back to the scene one last time before looking over to Eric.

Eric looked at her and smirked, "Maybe." he said before he changed the scene.

Nicoli was in the Hallway in front of Helena, they were older and she looked at the locket. Helena looked up at Nicoli, "Are you sure you want me to hold on to it?" she asked, before given a soft sad smirk, "I might just decided to bring you back as an old man just to see you, again." she teased, one hand beside her had his Shadow Blade.

Nicoli returned her sad smile. "It belongs to you. I...it wasn't fair of me, what I've done to you." He started. He did love Helena, he knew he could have been happy with her. But when he'd laid eyes on his soon to be wife in the human world, it was like the whole world had stopped. He didn't believe in live at first sight, but that was essentially what it had been. He'd been drawn to her over and over and finally broke the rules to approach her. Just to see. He'd fallen in love with her the first time he'd seen her and all over again when he finally got to hear her laugh. He'd felt horribly guilty about it after, he and Helena had been happy but he wasn't so sure he wouldn't hurt Helena more by staying than if he left. "It still has a piece of my soul Helena, a piece of me that will always belong to you." He added gently. They'd figured things out, it hadn't been easy but they worked it out. He smiled some. "You could bring me back then. It's the least I'd owe you after everything you've done for me."

Helena took a deep breath and smiled, "Okay, but I can't promise that having your soul is going to always be enough." she teased, she leaned towards him, kissing the corner of his lips. She pulled back with a smile, "Take care of her, Nicoli. I know she is special, after all, that's the kind of person you are." she bite her lip, "I talked to my uncle and he is allowing you to go, but he wants you to do one thing. He wouldn't tell me what, but he said it was important." she held on to the locket in her fist, "Stay safe. I plan to see you as an old man, next time. One that lived a long and happy live with the woman that took his world and made it so much better." she sighed, looking at his blade in her hand, "And I will find a way to deal with this. A Shadow Blade without an owner is kind of dangerous."

Nicoli smiled a little. "I would take it if I could, but I'm afraid it will be dangerous to have it in the human world. I know it's in good hands with you though." He said. He hesitated and then pulled her into a tight hug, being careful of the blade. He wanted to apologize, but he wasn't sure that was right. "When I see you again I hope you've lived a long and happy life too. You deserve happiness Helena, more than anyone I know." He didn't have to say he wished he could have been better and been the one to give it to her. They both already knew that.

Helena smiled, taking a deep breath to stop the flash of tears that had started, as she looked up at him, "Go. Meet with my uncle, so you don't keep her waiting." she stepped back, "I have to finish up in the lab and make sure the new experiment doesn't explode before it's time." She smiled at him, "I love you, Nicoli. If you ever need me, you know how to find me." she said looking up at him, "Now, go. I'm sure my uncle is waiting in his office for you."

Eric sighed, looking to Rowan, "You know, is it terrible that I want to be there when your father and mother's bodies are brought back? I'm curious if she is really going to bring him back and where she hid that weapon."
