Two Winchesters and a Baby Angel

Both brothers gave a wide-eyed look at each other, before Dean rushed over to where Sam was sitting, and the taller hugging their friend.

"Cas. That was amazing. You're doing so well, baby." the pair lovingly comforted. They were blown away by the progress Castiel was making. First talking, now trying to walk/toddle. It was amazing.

Cas smiled, enjoying all this praise. He was doing well. Much better than when he first started out. Maybe they could take Cas to get pictures made that afternoon.

Feeling like a particular sentimental guy, Sam made a quick hint: "Hey, Dean. Maybe we can get pictures with our little guy."

Quirking a brow, the older thought about it, "Okay? Whatever ya want, Sam. Only if our baby wants to."

Ruffling the back of the angel's head and pressing a kiss to Cas' forehead, Dean asked, "You wanna get pictures?"

"I'll take that as a 'yes'," the hunter murmured, before standing up, keeping Cas wrapped around him.

It was nearing the afternoon, so the brothers decided that they should get lunch ready before they departed. Heading to the kitchen, Dean sat the angel in his highchair while Sam tried his best to make something edible.

Cas cooed and gurgled as he patted his highchair tray, his legs swinging back and forth, as he waited rather impatiently.

Seeing their baby grow impatient, Dean patted Cas' arm, before Sam eventually brought some decent-looking food. Kid would need a few more lessons by the older Winchester himself.

Plopping down onto his chair, drained, the taller told himself that he'd never cook unless he had too. Like just now.

Cas whined and reached for his food, drool dribbling out of the corner of his mouth, dripping onto his shirt. He was hungry, and the food didn't look that bad.

Dean fed their little one, while his brother started to pack the diaper bag. Hopefully Cas liked the food, since in Dean didn't want to be the one to cook all the time.

Cas ate the food messily, grabbing at the spoon a few times, indicating that he was getting ready to feed himself, if he could properly hold a spoon or fork, that is.

Noticing how Cas seemed to want to try to feed himself, Dean handed him the spoon, "Here ya go, kiddo. Try it out."

Perking up at the scene before him, Sam watched with an interested look, to see what their baby could do.

Cas held the spoon in his hand and scooped up a bit of food, slowly bringing it to his mouth and eating. He did it. He had fed himself.

Cheering, Dean grinned, "Awesome, Cas. Sammy, did you see that?"

With a wide grin on his face, just like his brother, the taller said, "Kinda hard to miss, Dean. Besides, Cas is pretty smart, like he showed us earlier."

Cas grinned. He was smart. He was actually more of a toddler than a baby, but whatever 'age' he was, really depended on his mentality.

Our little one is growin' up, Dean thought, before shaking his head and mentally slapping himself; he was being too chick-flicky. Cleaning up Cas' face, and smiling proudly at him, the hunter dressed the angel in a cute, white onsie with a blue romper over it. Along with velcro shoes and socks. Satisfied with Castiel's outfit, the green-eyed man said, "Like your outfit, Cas?"

Cas frowned and shook his head, wanting to wear something super adorable for his pictures. (How about a sailor suit with a matching hat?)

Cas was never usually picky about outfits, but since he was 'maturing', maybe he could pick out an outfit once in a while.

(Okay!)

Undressing Cas, and instead changing him into a cuter outfit, of a sailor suit and matching hat, Dean nodded to himself and tickled his baby's tummy. Their friend was growing up mentally, so it made sense that he'd want to chose something to wear.

Picking up the angel, and bringing him to the Impala where Sam was already waiting, diaper bag in the backseat, the older hunter settled Castiel in his carseat with Apple. Starting up the car, they drove to get their pictures.

Cas smiled and sucked his thumb, hugging Apple beneath his arm, he relaxed in his carseat, watching the scenery pass by, in a state of blissfullness. He'd never gotten his picture taken before. Maybe it'd be fun.

Parking in the lot for the photography studio, the Winchesters turned and smiled brightly at their dressed up little one. Exiting the car, and removing Cas from his carseat, Sam adjusted the angel's outfit and asked, "Do you wanna bring Apple or leave 'em here, buddy?"

Cas whined, hugging Apple close to him. He'd grown attached to the plushie and wanted to take it with him, afraid that it would get stolen if he left it in the car.

Smiling softly at the blue-eyed one's attachment to the bee, Sam nodded and with Dean, they carried Castiel into the studio, excited to get their pictures done. With their baby boy's growing mind, it seemed like a good choice of celebration.

It wasn't crowded in the studio, but there were enough people to add to the hunters' growing optimism about this place. The studio was spacious and clean, and in a flash, a smiling female photographer came to greet them.

"Hello! Are you three waiting to get pictures done?" Sam and Dean nodded, both grinning like made men. "And who's this little guy?" she asked, gesturing to Castiel.

Cas blushed, and hid his face in Dean's shoulder, whimpering softly. He wasn't very social, and was often shy around strangers, even if they were nice.

Patting their friend's back, Dean smiled albeit apologetically, "Sorry. He's a bit shy."

The photographer waved her hand downwards, still having a kind expression, "It's okay. So long as the cutie's up for pictures!" Bringing the three around to her section of the studio, she had them get settled.

Cas looked around curiously, when he was placed on a soft mat, with a few toys scattered about. He whimpered softly when he saw all the lights and cameras surrounding him.

Hearing their baby's whimpers, the two Winchesters murmured words of comfort into Cas' ears, hoping that he'd be comfortable with this whole experience.

"Just try and relax, Cas." Dean whispered, deep voice full of compassion and concern.
