Realistic or Modern Troubled Youth

starboy

sad eyes, bad guys, mouth full of white lies

Dear student,

Congratulations on your enrollment to Marqua's Home and School for Troubled Youth. You'll be among many students to come here for the year. You will learn how to control whatever addiction or troublemaking habits you have, along with having a couple regular school classes. All of this will be elaborated upon on your first day.

We will meet soon.

Skye

Skye crossed her arms and stared at the blank road ahead of her as her mother drove in silence, her jaw set in not-so-mild, simmering anger. The betrayal, bewilderment, and even mild guilt she felt from the fact that she was being forced to attend Marqua's by her quite invasive thank you very much parents was too much to handle, or even admit, so instead, all she felt was anger. The fact that her mother had, as the two had gotten in the car earlier, placed the enrollment letter delicately on Skye's lap, was a giant slap in the face. So much so that she almost got out of the car and started running. She may have, had she had any idea who or where she would go to. So, the two drove in complete silence, and any time Skye's mother tried speaking was met with no verbal response, only Skye screaming in her head I HATE YOU TURN THE CAR AROUND I DON'T WANNA GO i'm scared.

Fuck. Fuck you, fuck this,
thought Skye as her mother pulled into the parking lot marked "Students and visitors." It was fairly large, and, from it, Skye began looking upon the place being forced onto her. It was actually quite beautiful, with its reddish-brown bricks, its grandeur, its large lawn at the front with white flowers at the side closest to the school. Then again, as her own father always told her, so was she - but on the inside, "spoiled, spoiled rotten! I don't know how it happened. We raised you right, and here you go, whoring around, taking drugs, drinking, right under our noses, thinking it is okay and we won't find out! Tell me, what did we do wrong?"

She never had an answer for him.

So, then, this school was the same. Beautiful, of course. But on the inside, something had gone wrong, at least from what she heard. Apparently, her mom didn't know that, though.

Or maybe she did.

Fuck you.

Antoin

His mom and dad tried to talk to him the whole 40-minute ride. Antoin simply nodded or shook his head at everything they said, even if it wasn't necessarily applicable. "Are you excited?" Head shake. "We're gonna miss you." Nod. He had no desire to make much conversation. It didn't seem fair to him. He'd rather be an inpatient for a month - which he was, once, when he was 13, for suicidal ideation - than go to Marqua's. Then again, if he had to once more look his father in the eyes again and see the disappointment, or his mother's and see the utter concern, he might break. He hoped it wasn't as bad as he heard. He didn't think it could be, but he also didn't think he had any reason to be scared of leaving his phone at home.

Apparently, he was wrong about everything.

The ride was a blur. As Antoin stepped out of the parked car with his parents, moving to the trunk to grab his bags, he saw someone a few cars over doing the same thing, along with a couple cars strung around the lot. His heart broke for the girl, if it could break any more, because she looked both angry and on the verge of tears. He had the feeling he'd be seeing more people of the same emotional state throughout the day. Hell, throughout the year. He set his rolling suitcase on the ground and grabbed his bag out of the trunk before his mom closed it. Him and the other girl began walking towards the main building, his suitcase being the only noise echoing throughout the empty lot and then the lawn. He wanted to talk to her, but knew that he prooooobably shouldn't. The girl and who he thought must be her mom walked into the building, but his parents insisted on staying outside with him for a while longer.

Whatever.

Axel

Axel grimaces at the school. He'd been dropped off at six in the morning, both his parents eager to send him away. Too eager for his liking. But alas, he figured he'd be left early with all his shit thrown to the curb (literally. He had to walk all the way up to the front entrance and make his way to the main building. All on his own). Axel lets out a huff as he stares at the menacing building. He feels his nose start to bleed again, and Axel curses under his breath. The night before he was supposed to leave he got into a fight, and one of them men punched him in square in the nose. Hard. His ribs are battered up too and if Axel thinks too long, he'll remember he's in quite a bit of pain. It makes him smile. He notices another boy pull up as well as a girl. The boy's parents seem to actually care about him, making Axel bite back a laugh. Instead he focuses on pressing the edge of his shirtsleeve against his nose to stop it from bleeding. He can taste blood in his mouth, and Axel licks his lips.

He sees another girl pull up. This one seems... preppy. He'd hoped at least he wouldn't need to deal with snobby kids, but he supposes that in the end one can never be so lucky. He lets out a sigh and turns to look at the two people. Wondering which one to talk to. The moppy boy with the loving parents, or the girl who looks like she'd get drunk on her father's five hundred dollar vodka.

Calum Alexander Hale

He'd gotten into a fight with his father earlier that morning before he left resulting in a very angry Calum. His brother drove him to the 'home' he'd be staying in against his will and sighed once he got there "Just drop me off on the edge of town?" he asked and his brother, Aiden, shook his head "You know I can't do that" he said and ruffled Calum's hair causing him to grumble quietly "I'll text you later alright?" he asked and Aiden nodded before watching Calum get out and get his bag from the trunk, looking up at the 'home' he'd be staying at for awhile with a disgruntled sigh, He decided that before going in he would have a smoke and stood outside before lighting it up with his cat zippo lighter, He was wearing black skinny jeans, a white t-shirt with a black Animal rights hoodie over it and his black hair he'd just recently dyed was sort of messy from Aiden messing it up.

@ Anyone? :P

Antoin

Out of the corner of his eye, Antoin saw a boy with unusually colored hair. He flicked his eyes back to his parents, but apparently, not quick enough, for his mother said, as he knew she would, "Ooh. He looks interesting. You should go make friends." Whatever the hell that was supposed to mean. Make friends, he thought, with people who do drugs and have sex and smoke and drink and commit crimes. Like I do. Great plan, mom, not like you want that influence on me. Apparently. He couldn't voice any of this, of course, so instead, he just looked at his mother, his jaw clenching slightly, thinking about what to say.

"Make... friends? Mom. It's the first day. They've yet to invasively search my bag," He said, perhaps a little too sharply. His mom was just looking out for him, and he knew it, but he didn't want this. His dad took a deep breath. Great.

"Antoin. Do as your mother says," His father said.

Whatever. He wasn't in the mood to argue, and, besides, maybe he needed to not mess with his parents' perception of him anymore, for the time being. His mom gave him a gentle push in the boy's direction, and Antoin begrudgingly began his trek toward the other boy. Once he finally closed most of the distance, he introduced himself.

"Hi. I'm Antoin," He offered, refusing the urge to cross his arms. If you don't wanna talk to me, don't do it, He wanted to say, I was forced to come over here.

Diana

Diana rubbed her eyes and looked around, her mother sat next to her. The car had stopped and she assumed she had arrived at Marqua's. Her mother sat looking forward staying silent. This gave Diana a chance to look around. She noticed a few people making there way inside the building. The place was gorgeous and Diana slightly wished it stayed like this. She was brought back to her mother when she heard quite sniffles before her mother out right started balling.

"There, there mama bear." She mumbled remembering the old name for her mom. She ran a hand along her back and gave a slight pat. When her mother finished crying she gave a small smile.

"This is for the best you are going to get better."
Her mother said more so to herself than to Diana. Diana smiled trying to reassure her mom. She doubted she would get better. Matter of fact she really didn't want to get better anyways. They soon exited the car Diana's mom popping the trunk to allow Diana to get her stuff. Diana grabbed the suitcase and began dragging it up to the building. She fixed her maroon sweatshirt. Diana reached into her pocket pulling out a small bag of candy and quickly popped one into her mouth.

"The Xanax should kick in soon."
She thought.

Axel

Axel stares at the man 'Antoin' and raises an eyebrow before turning his baseball cap around so he can get a better look at him.

"Axel." he says, looking him up and down.

"Why're you here?" he asks, figuring he might as well act like he's in prison considering how it might as well be.

He doesn't want to be rude to the man, although he finds that he looks like he ate something rather sour I mean honestly. Where the fuck is this guy's cheeks? He finds the guy to be rather standoff-ish, making Axel feel well. Uncomfortable. But then again, he is still bleeding profusely out of his nose and oh yeah! Handshakes.

Axel holds out his hand, the bloody one unfortunately and offers it to Antoin.

"How old are you?" he asks him next, simply to tell if he'll have classes with him or if he shouldn't bother even being his friend.

@Vices and Virtues

Antoin

The boy laughed at Axel offering a hand smeared with blood. Fuck it, I've had worse on my hands than a little bit of blood from someone's nose, he thought as he took it into a firm handshake. He loosened his grip and lets his hand, now slightly bloodied, fall to his side. He decided to loosen up. Not that he would let his guard down. Forget that idea completely. Just be slightly less stiff. "Huh, well, no point in lying, I guess. So, I drink and take drugs and..." He didn't feel like saying the last thing out loud, so he raised one wrist and used his other hand, positioned as if he was holding something between his thumb and forefinger with his other fingers curled up, and drew quick lines over his wrist in the air, with a melodramatic facial expression. Making fun of himself. All he knew to do. "Ha. My folks found out about the first and last thing. Flipped shit. Sent me here. If they found out about the drugs I'd be sent to a morgue.

"Anyway, I'm 18. What about you? What's your deal?"

Apollo drove to the school with a smile. Everything seemed to be going so fast. He felt bad for his father slightly. Maybe one day he would learn the error of his ways. He got out of his car and breathed in the air with a smile. He couldn't wait to meet friends. He didn't even think about the fact that some people may not want to meet him. He picked up his bags and looked around for someone to socialize with. Everyone seemed so busy. He bit his lip and sighed. He had a pair of skinny jeans on along with light, pastel pink converses. He had on a Cage the Elephant t-shirt along with a little black and white fedora on his head. "Ummm~"

Diana

Diana glanced around the room was clean, to clean. The kind of clean that says something isn't right. Her mother walked up behind her and put her hand on her back.

"So many kids here! I can see you're gonna make lot of friends!" Diana gave her mom a quick glance. Before mutter something about how

likely that was. She only reserved a pointed glare from her mother.
"Go sit down. I'll sign you in."

Diana moved to the small row of seats. This place seemed so posh causing her to cringe slightly. She hoped they would make her act proper. She leaned back looking at the ceiling. Remembering her candy she began to eat it again. She looked to her right to see a girl with both her parents. The looked less than pleased to be here. Diana couldn't help, but think she should feel like that too. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She had a feeling it was the drugs that were delaying her reactions. She was bond to have some sort of breakdown." Friends", she thought. A good idea in thought, but just poor execution in the end. "Friends are overrated." Diana sat up a little straighter as a thought passed her mind. "Will they do a drug test?" The thought broke her out of her hazy like state. Her mom is already upset enough. If she found out the only reason Diana was cooperating was due to being under the influence. Her mom might be the one to have a breakdown.

"Mom I need to walk outside. I need to get out for a little...I just I have to go outside." Diana's mother looked concerned as she watched her daughter freak out she reached out trying to touch her arm for reassurance, but Diana backed away.

"Diana you can't leave we here you have to stay inside. Just sit down." Diana slowly backed away from her mom ignoring everything she said and made her way to the door, and exiting the admissions office. She walked outside looking around trying to figure out were to go. Her stomach heaved and before she knew it she vomited.

Bailey

Bailey cringed at the sight of the school, she was far from happy about being here. She glared at her overly nervous mother, she knew this was best for her daughter, but she was obviously more excited that Bailey would be someone else problem. She had packed enough weed for two bowls for the car ride there, her mother just gave her a disappointed look as she lit it and inhaled. Once they arrived, Bailey left her bowl in the car, and sprayed herself with perfume to hide the smell, but honestly she didn't care. She had her long blonde hair up in a high messy bun, she took her sunglasses off to put in some eye drops and put a piece of gum in her mouth before stepping out of the car. She stood taller than normal with her black high heels, and a pair of dark was skinny jeans and a dark red top that was see through and showed her black strapless bra.

They first walked towards the check in area, people were giving her scared looks, and they had a good reason to.

Axel and Alice

(
AA Batteries)

Axel raises an eyebrow at the cuts on Antoin's arms.

"You know, a better way to fuck your arms up is tattoos. At least it's art afterwards." he says, showing him his arms. "I'm seventeen. Last year of high school thank fucking god." he says, shrugging his shoulders.

Axel notices out of the corner of his eye a blonde head bobbing up and down and running towards him at a rather fast pace.

"Ace...?" he murmurs, and before he has time to get a proper look he's being hit rather hard on the arm.

"What the fu-" he begins but is cut off when he sees her.

Ace. Or Alice. He calls her Ace because why the fuck not?

"Damn fucking right. Who's this nerd you're talking to?" she says, nodding her head at Antoin.

Since Axel is here, she seems to be in a well... tough mood. Guess this school has another thing coming considering how back in their old school they were called the AA Batteries, and were not to be fucked with.

"My name's Alice." she says, giving him a head nod and crossing her shoulders to scan the crowd.

Her suitcase lies on the ground beside Axel's and only because he knows her and likes her does he bother to pick it up and stand it next to his. From the looks of things, Alice is looking around to see the meat. He knows she won't actually approach anyone without him, but he finds it cute in a childish way how she tries.

Antoin

The boy felt very underwhelmed at Axel's tattoo comment. At least if the other boy judged him, he could shrug and tell his parents that he's oh so sorry, but it didn't work out. Damn, then. Antoin was about to comment on it, saying something about how he wasn't in to tattoos, and the fact that he asked what Axel's deal was and didn't get a proper response, when some... ball of energy came and started talking to Axel. "Uh. I'm Antoin," he muttered. Oh, of fucking course some people here know each other already. Who doesn't have a partner in crime. "Along with being Antoin, I am also known as Leaving. See you guys. Maybe." He didn't give the two much of an opportunity to stop him, especially since he thought they wouldn't want to. Why would they? They seemed chill with each other. He felt like an outsider after 45 seconds with them.

He shuffled back over to where, Jesus H. Christ, his parents were still standing. He told them to leave, in the nicest possible way, and that he'd go through check in or whatever himself. He knew, logically, there had to be one. What kind of school-home-whateverthefuck for People Like Him wouldn't?

His parents nodded, giving him an unsure hug. He started going inside.

Swinging his army-styled bag over his shoulder, with his suitcase in the other hand, Ryder examined the school upon his arrival, shrugging and glancing back at his sister. She was saying her goodbyes to their foster-parents, and before the duo knew it, the red tail lights of their Subaru was all they could see. The brunette boy scoffed and turned on his foot, walking up the entry way of the building.

It was bigger than he had expected, he would admit that. But, he would not admit that it actually did intimidate him quite a lot. "
El, do you even know where we're suppose to go?" He questioned, furrowing an eyebrow as he peered around at the other teenagers who lined the campus.

"Yes, of course, I'll call when I can," Eli nodded to her foster-mom, batting her eyelashes innocently, as if she actually intended on calling. "Alright, we gotta go, bye ma, bye dad," she waved them off, sighing after they were finally in the car. Jesus christ, took long enough....She thought, a giant relief leaving her body upon their exit. She had played their game, and smiled, and acted like she was fine, but in reality, she was horrified. She hated moving, meeting new people, and having to get use to a whole different life style. It wasn't fair -- she just wanted things to go back to the way they use to be.

Elianna picked up her bags, following alongside her brother. As they made it closer to the building, the bit in Eli's stomach seemed to get bigger and bigger, as reality set in. She forced herself to take a deep breath, as they entered the doors.

She looked at her brother as he spoke, lifting a small shoulder in a shrug. "
How am I suppose to know, smartstack?"

Calum Alexander Hale

He glanced at a couple of people talking and shrugged it off as he continued smoking before seeing a guy get out of a taxi and looked way too happy about being here, Though he was wearing a cage the elephant shirt which intrigued Calum. He narrowed his eyes and kept the cigarette in his mouth as he walked over to him "Cool shirt" he said as he past him and sat on a wall not too far away from the boy with a slight smirk on his face

@tomato modest

Apollo let out a sigh as he was about to just go inside but then he saw the stranger approach him. He smiled at the warily. "Oh! Thank you!!" He said, closing his eyes and smiling at the other innocently. It was strange because Apollo didn't exactly look like he was supposed to be here, he seemed innocent at first glance.

@Bea

Calum Alexander Hale

He pat the wall beside him offering him to come sit down and held a cigarette out to him "You smoke?" he asked as he put another in his own mouth and lit it up, deciding to be nice to this seemingly innocent boy, plus, he was pretty damn cute. He hoped that maybe this boy would take a liking to him aswell though highly doubted it, He seemed much too innocent. Speaking of which why does he seem so innocent? I mean, It's cute, But he looks so happy to be going somewhere that's probably going to be hell....

Bailey

Bailey stood inline with her mother, she grabbed her vape pen out of her bag, she made a very strange arrangement with her mother basically saying her mother wouldn't have her arrested for having weed, but she was never allowed to smoke cigarettes. So she never did, she wasn't sure if she would while she was here. She turned from her mother and looked around at her fellow students, trying to figure out possibly what some of them may be there for.

Apollo shook his head. "Oh no, but thank you anyways!" He said as he looked down sheepishly. He realized he hadn't even introduced himself and held out a hand quietly. "Oh, um, I'm Apollo!" He said as he looked over at the other. He was glad he was actually finding people to talk to. At his old school people seemed to like him as well, but there were people who just seemed to be cold to him. He wished he could have helped them, but it was far too late for him to even worry about that anymore.

He shrugged "Suit yourself" he said before looking at his hand and shaking it firmly, He was always one to have really cold hands. It was strange really, maybe a blood pressure thing but he wasn't really sure. "Calum" he said with a slight grin which actually surprised him as he rarely ever smiled while looking up at the boy with those big blue eyes of his

Apollo smiled. "It's nice to meet you!" He said as he shook the others hand before pulling his away. "I was afraid I wasn't going to fit in, but it looke like I already made my first friend." He said with a warm smile at Callum.

He chuckled darkly at the word 'friend', He was quick to make decisions wasn't he? I mean, He wouldn't object but at the same time he didn't see himself making any 'friends' here "Shall we go check in? I think there's a bag check" he said as he put the cigarette out and got up, looking at the boy curiously and was more than likely checking him out too. He bit his lip lightly and smirked a little at him, He really was cute.

Apollo nodded, getting up and glancing over at him. "Okay then." He said happily. He hugged his bag and looked over at Callum. He could sense Callum as a rather friendly person, which was good. He hoped everyone else would be the same amount of kind. That would be nice. He'd like to have a few friends and not be entirely alone. Though just one seemed to be fine as well. He honestly didn't mind how many friends he had, as long as people liked him. And whoever didn't he didn't think had to. But it would be nice.

Calum Alexander Hale

He then lead him in while holding his bag over his shoulder before placing it down for them to check it "I don't have any guns I promise~" he joked with an eye roll as he looked over at Apollo and hoped his would go smoothly aswell, He took his bag back once they'd cleared him and turned to Apollo

@tomato modest

Apollo warily put his bag down for inspection and smiled at the person who was doing so quietly. He hoped everything he had would be clear, unless his father pushed a snake into his bag before leaving. That would be bad. But he doubted that would happen. His father was in jail now, so he could no longer hurt Apollo the way he had in the past. So he would be fine.
