Lily stood there, realizing she hadn’t been given any information. She knew her name, she had no idea what her student ID was. Another dumb way she hadn’t prepared for coming to this school. When she realized she had been standing there in a bit of surprise for a few minutes, she snapped out of her daze and spoke. “It’s Lillian Maurice Oakland,” she nodded to herself, as if proud that she knew her own name.
Virgil scoffed at the response and typed in her name. "Lillian, huh? May I ask, do you need assistance from staff to help you around the school? It says here that you have a frail body structure." Virgil asked out of curiosity. For one, it could give him something to do while not doing anything. He was concerned about this girl's health, only because she was a girl. A cute one at that. Of course, he wouldn't tap it but taking care of her would seem worthwhile. He also began printing out her schedule, as requested.

Lily saw Virgil's reaction to her response and she looked away for a moment with a bit of shame. When she heard his next question, she shook her head. "I should be fine," She admitted. "I have a wheelchair, and if the need does arise, I can..." she paused, trying to find a better word to use, "...make someone to help me," she finished, tapping her notebook. "I appreciate the offer though," she bowed her head for a moment, in some kind of apology, before looking back up at Virgil again.

He shrugged but smiled at the same time. "Ah well, I guess I can't persist. I do hope we could chat some more in the future. We do have some similarities." He said before waving his book and placed it on the table. He then got up to go get Lillian's schedule. Once it was finished printing, he took the schedule and handed it to her. "Welcome to Trinity Crescent. May you have a wonderful time here. Just steer away from trying to go for Danger Class." Virgil stated with a wink in the end. He then sat back down in his chair and grabbed his book and slid it under the table. "May you have any questions, I may be able to answer them."

Lily looked at the book, trying to figure out what it did. "I'm sure I'll be here at least a little bit," she said, taking the schedule and reading it over. Arlo was right when he said that they had a few classes together. In fact, her schedule looked pretty similar to his, minus a few classes. She tucked the schedule into her notebook, planning to write down the classes later. "Thank you," she murmured, looking up at Virgil. "What were those similarities you were talking about?" she asked, realizing that if she went to any class now, it would just be confusing. It might just be better off to wait for the end of the day and say that she got lost. Basically, she was just trying to stall for time. She was curious about Virgil's book, but she wouldn't pry.

Virgil chuckled a little bit. "You have your schedule, so shouldn't you be heading to class now?" He shrugged once more. "I'm kidding. It would be confusing to catch up on class material this late anyway. I suppose we can chat to kill your time." He said with a smirk as he rested his elbow on the desk and propped his head up with his hand. "As for the similarities, you seem to be able to draw anything in that notebook and make it come to life, correct? This book is like a tomb for evil spirits. I can summon them to my aid as use them however I want. I just can't use it too much, or else I'd get possessed by them." He said as he moved a strand of hair away from his face. "Without our books, we can't do much of anything really. Well, maybe I can do a little bit more, but my full power lies in that book."

Lily nodded, Virgil had almost read her mind. It was still more or less the first day, and it was easier to get most of the information after a class, not half-way through one. She could deal with the homework. "As long as it's within reason, I can make it," she said, shifting the book in her hands again. She listened to his explanation of his book, picking up on the part where he said he could do a little bit without his book. She knew she could do nothing without it. When she had still lived at home, she had spent countless hours trying to summon something small. The most she had gotten was a small feather, which was barely the size of her pinkie. She had stopped for a long time after that, realizing that she needed her book. "I guess those are pretty similar," she murmured, thinking about it for a second. "That would make you technical class, right?" she asked, still trying to get a grasp on the classes.

"Technically, yes. But because of the many times I was possessed and the damage I can do with just this small book back when I was a student, I had to be moved to the Danger Class. Now, I'm twenty four and just imagine how much I can do, right?" He said confidently, and maybe even a little smug. He leaned back into his chair and sighed. "I didn't get much free time since I was sent on missions quite a lot. I didn't get a chance to pick up a relationship with a girl during my high school years. Which sucks. But hey, at least now I can chase as many as I want now." He said before he started to laugh a bit loudly and had to silence himself quickly because he was in a library and he is a librarian. He was awfully loud for one anyway. But who cares, right? He's the librarian. He can do whatever the hell he wanted in it. "The way I see it, holding up relationships seems a bit tiring. A lot of commitment and loyalty, this and that. I don't think I've matured enough for it. I mean, it kinda shows, doesn't it?" He said with a chuckle.

Lily nodded, trying to remember what the book had looked like. She opened her book again, tracing a sketch she had made after having a nightmare. She looked up at him again and awkwardly smiled. She didn’t know if it was in her place to say something. Tracing over the nightmarish image in her notebook again. “Do you think I could make something dangerous?” She asked in a small voice. She didn’t know when it came out, she didn’t know why she felt as though she could confide in him. He was older than her, and he had a similar ability. She figited with a piece of her hair, looking at the other pages in her notebook, trying to calm herself down.

Virgil nodded. "Yeah but just because you can, doesn't really mean you should." Virgil stated as he leaned forward and eyed Lily. He looked dead serious this time. "Especially here. This is a library, not a killing floor." Virgil then sighed as he leaned back in his chair. It seems if he had to take something down, he'd do it. But it was probably an inconvenience to him. "And who knows, maybe you make something that might end up hurting you instead." He then started to type some stuff into his computer, as if looking for something. "Are you familiar with how bullying works?"

Lily sort of leaned back. “Yes, understood,” she said, closing her notebook again. She was too afraid to do anything anyways. She looked over at his computer, but didn’t say anything for a moment. “Bullying?” She asked in a small voice. Being raised in solitude meant you only saw so many things, and most of the things that Lily had been exposed to were pure, and simple things. “I can’t say I am,” she admitted, smiling.

"Bullying is the act of habitually seeking to harm or intimidate those whom a bully, or bullies, perceive as vulnerable. They seek to harm, intimidate, or coerce a victim." He then showed Lily the computer screen. It was a video, which looked like it was from a surveillance camera looking over a secluded part of the school, like a small alley. The camera placement seemed to be in a low area with leaves surrounding it. It's like someone planted a camera in a bush. There was a group of boys bullying a girl. One of the boys, looked like the leader since he seemed more powerful than the rest as he was using spiritual magic, and the rest encouraged him. "This one knew he had powers that were superior than the rest and used it wrongfully. He displayed it everyday on a daily basis, terrorizing most students around him. Mainly, he went after this girl. I could only guess she turned him down or something." As the video continued the bullies would pull the girl's hair or even her clothes. They hit her occasionally and it almost seemed like something was gonna happen quite soon. "But magic is magic, right? All forms of it, could be used in dangerous ways. No matter what it is." He said as the video showed the girl pull out the same black book from her satchel, and it seemed that she became possessed. She then proceeded to use fire magic which eventually turned into dark fire and burned the lead bully alive. The others scattered but the leader rolled around burning, to the point he could die. And eventually, he did. As the sounds were already horrific, the girl seemed to regain control of her body and threw the book away from her. You then saw Virgil come into shot and walk over to her and gave her his coat and picked up his book. "My my, you made some work out of him." Virgil said in the video as he began walking away. He then stopped to turn to her and speak his last sentence. "Meet me in my office at the library later today. I'll find you some new clothes. And whatever happened today, it was an accident." And the video ended. He then turned the computer away so Lily could stop looking at the screen. "She was one of my assistants a few years ago and she managed to steal the Black Book. I always wondered the intention, so I've been tailing her around a lot. This video here, is what happens when people try to use their magic for dangerous purposes, and what dangers could come afterwards." Virgil said before he tapped the desk area in front of Lily to get her attention. "Only when you seem cornered, in a dangerous situation, is when you can try something dangerous as a ditch effort to save yourself."

Lily watched the video with wide eyes, shaking. She had never seen anything even remotely like that before. It shook her to the bone, snatching a bit of innocence as it did. She lowered her head, her white hair hiding her eyes. When she heard tapping, she jerked up, looking at Virgil with wide eyes. “Got it.” She tried to keep her voice even, but it cracked. She nodded. “I can’t really do that much anyways,” she laughed, looking at the clock, trying to figure out when she could leave.

Virgil realized that showing something like this to her is a bit too much, but it's just one of many cases. He has found cases that had gotten far worse. He thought he'd changed the subject, but how? Suddenly, the Black Book began whispering something, even Lily can hear it too. It was whispering gibberish so Virgil sighed and had to translate. "Not sure if you heard that or not, but it seems one of the spirits, Shub, wants to speak with you. It's up to you if you want to speak to her or not, she's one of the kinder spirits in the book." Virgil offered. He had no problem with summoning Shub, just as long as Lily was okay with it.

Lily jolted upright when she heard the gibberish, taking a deep breath and putting herself together again. “I’m willing to hear her,” she said, tempted to add a comment at the end, but her mouth didn’t move. Instead, she just kind of awkwardly nodded, as if reconsidering her life choices

"Alright then..." He said before he pulled out the book and opened it. Soon, without him saying a word, the book began to glow blue and float by itself, like it was trying to vomit something. Then, a surge of visible blue spiritual energy poured out of the book and the spirit began to take form, physically. The spirit looked like a she and she was a little taller than Lily, and she had long white hair. She had blue skin and horns. On her forehead, looked like a shard of some refined amethyst. All the spirit was wearing was an oddly designed dress, and no shoes. The spirit soon offered her a smile and introduced herself. "Hello. I'm Shub."

Lily rolled back a bit, as if scared that the book might blow up. When Shub came out, she was dumbfounded for a second. She moved her head in a way that seemed like a bow. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Lily." She moved her head back up again, trying to take every part of the spirit across from her in. She was quiet, unsure of what to say. She was still in a bit of a daze from the video she had been shown, so she wasn't on top of things. The best she could do was return the smile. That wasn't bad, and it was a simple motion. Lily was fidgeting with her notebook again, tracing her finger up and down the spine.

Shub bowed her head as well. She noticed she was disturbed. With about good reason, Virgil showed her something he shouldn't have. "I understand you're disturbed by the video. That's okay. If you wish, I can make you forget what you've seen. That is, if you'd let me." She said calmly, maintaining her innocent and pure look. "If not, we can just do something else. Maybe check out some books?"

Eva returned to find that she had busted her tail to return in time for...free period. Wonderful, she thought. Perhaps now would be the time to run her errands, so to speak. She slunk away from the group, making a quick stop by the cafeteria to pick up some salt packets.

Now, where to do this? The dorms had to be monitored. If not for magic, then for the usual things people her age got up to when they thought no one was watching. No, too obvious to go there. Finding an empty class seemed equally unlikely.

Then inspiration. The library. No one would be caught dead there in the middle of the afternoon. Nice and private.

Arlo's map proved handy, from what parts she could remember. She found the place without incident.

Once she got there, she was stunned to realize her breezily made assumptions were wrong. Lily was here. Just at one of the tables, talking to someone. Eva toyed with the idea of leaving, but laziness got the better of her. She could do this nice and quiet. No need to leave.

She checked to see if she was noticed, and it was unclear that she had been, and slipped into a chair on the far side of the room. No sign of Arlo or Lance either. Yet. And Marie had been a no-show since the forest.

She shrugged out of her jacket and arranged it as a sort of barricade around the table space. Rolling up her sleeves, she emptied out the salt packets. From her wallet, she produced a plastic library card to nudge the powder into a ring shape.

And finally, the secret sauce. She fished a small hunting knife from her bag and, after bracing herself, sliced a thin cut into her thumb. She winced, and tried not to cry out. She squeezed the wound tight, letting the bright red droplets spill down. With her other hand she drew a double cross, then a looping double circle underneath.

Satisfied with her artistry, she made ready to say the galdr- the magic words.

Lance had found himself with a free period and with nothing else to do, he headed to a less obvious place to go. The roof. There he would see if there was any static in the air to charge his energy back up to full. With the electrical tape on his headphones he didn't have to worry about anything leaving.

However it was at the time that he opened the door, he was greeted by a mysterious figure of an old man with his back to him. Almost ready to turn back, Lance made to grab for the door again, but the man's voice called out into his head. "Bearer of Valdur, where are you going now? Why is the maiden not with you?"

"Valdur? Maiden? I have no idea what you are talking about pops." Lance said looking back at the old man, "It was a mistake coming up here. I'll be going now."

"I don't think so." The old man spoke and before Lances eyes, the old man was gone and behind him.

"What the...?!" He jumped back, reaching for his knife but it was nowhere to be seen.

"A fascinating knife you have here. Made of a Dragons tooth, I suspect. Mmm, a good choice." The old man's pale milky eyes seemed to study him closely. "Why do you have that on your head?" He pointed a gnarled finger at Lances Headphones.

"It's to keep my powers in check. If I dont, I will hurt those around me." He admitted.

"That isn't called control. Those are a crutch you are hiding behind." The old man cracked his knuckles. "Come with me, we will find the maiden and sort this all out." Lances eyes widened. He didn't understand this old dude but he still had his knife so he had to follow him.

Shinku's POV

Shinku walked into the School Library with her stack of books. She wasn't sure if it was a good idea to carry the large pile all at once, but she managed so far. Walking up to the counter, Shinku caught a glimpse of the Librarian through her books.

Shinku didn't know how to start a conversation, but she went with something simple. " How do I return these books...? " Shinku asked awkwardly.

Lilly stayed there for a moment, toying with the idea of forgetting all of that. If she forgot, she wouldn't be traumatized, but if she remembered, it served as a good warning to her. "I think...I'll keep it," she said, running her fingers along her arm. At Shub's other offer, she nodded. "That would be nice," she admitted, looking around at the books scattered all over the place.

Virgil chuckled a bit before speaking. "Just turn them in. I'll take care of the rest, okay?" He said since all he needed to do was just to scan the books and they'll be registered as returned. Though if it were to check out books, then he'd have to scan the book and get the name or ID number of the person who is checking it out.
Lilly stayed there for a moment, toying with the idea of forgetting all of that. If she forgot, she wouldn't be traumatized, but if she remembered, it served as a good warning to her. Shub nodded and smiled before she began walking towards the bookshelves and waiting for Lily to follow her. "Then, what sorts of books do you want to read? There's quite the selection." Her voice was very calming somehow, as if Shub's purpose was to calm and comfort others. If that was the case, what was she doing in the Black Book?

Lily was quiet, looking at the selection. She pushed herself along, trying to see the ones on the higher shelves. “I’d like to figure out more about my powers, so maybe something technical.” She blinked, looking around. She almost forgot that Shub came from the black book, which was apparently evil? She couldn’t remember.

"Technical... huh?" Shub repeated to herself quietly before she begun to search the top shelves. You could tell she didn't really know this place well, unlike Virgil. But once she found some books, she took a few that seemed related to Lily's ability. To her it was sort of unique. The only time she could recall anything as accurate as Lily's was one student who often carried schools, black ink, and a brush. Whatever he scribble on those scrolls would come out in physical form. Like a tiger made out of black ink, or crow of the same. "Alright, I think this is about it. Let's go sit somewhere, shall we?"

Lily watched Shub retrieve a book, nodding. “I’m good with anywhere,” she said, “you probably know this place a little better than I do,” she admitted, as this had been the first time she had been in here. She looked at the book. She looked back up at Shub, only managing to nod again, looking around the library.
