Fantasy Trials of the Grave

Mia had to twirl quickly to avoid being burned, and she bumped into the wall, temporarily losing her focus. She then pushed off the wall, aiming towards the cage that Katie was in.

Ace knew it was out of range and ran. She climbed up the spikes, dodging to another spike too quickly to be caught in the air or fire. Once she was halfway in, she focused on the cage. She looked for the lock and managed to find it but it would strain her too much to open it. She started making her way there, her mind powers alerting her of an unidentified sequence of the fire and air spikes.

Charlotte didn't have to worry much about the fire, since her ashes can't be reburnt which makes her immune. She did however, worry about the jets. They blew at the shield she had up, weakening it. She decided to ditch it completely, focusing completely on reaching the cage. She hadn't been too far, and reached the cage in no time. She looked at the lock, and but enough ashes to fill in the ridges and take the shape of the inside of the lock. She solidified it, leaving her with a key that she could use to open the cage. Using her power that much was draining her quite a bit, and she

didn't know if she could get Katie out in time, but she sure would

try.

Flaire landed on the cage next to Charlotte, and nodded at her. "I'll get Katie, you open the lock. On 3?" She asked hurriedly, noticing the chains as the groaned under the fire's heat. She grabbed another battery, but it slipped out of her hands. It flew around the field, so she would have to try and retrieve it on the way back. She looked over at Charlotte again and said, "1 Moment..." She then launched herself towards the battery, almost getting burnt but instead just grazing her arm, and she grabbed the battery. She drained it, then made her way back to the cage.

Katie noticed that someone had finally reached her small boiling prison. She anxiously skittered to the side where they were, accidentally tilting her cage off balance and straining the melting chain even further, but she was oblivious to the latter. She noticed their near-exhaustion, and decided she could just as well help fend for herself. She motioned for them to get back, the noise of flames, spears, wind and spikes was far too much for her voice to compete with. She pressed both of her thumbs against the lock, and a small glowing red pair of concentric circles appeared. She leaned away from the image, in which a small seven-point star was beginning to fade into visibility. A moment and a shower of sparks later, the cage door slid open an inch.
